Firefox thinks that there is no connection.

After i switched cache location to be on ram drive (Z:) by creating user.js with line
user_pref("browser.cache.disk.parent_directory", "Z:\\Firefox_Temp");
When i browse websites it works good but often like 10 times a day i get this problem in middle of browsing say i click link or open new tab and there's no connection. It just keeps refreshing forever and then i can click in any existing tab and try to click link and same problem loading forever then saying connection problem.
As soon as i restart firefox it works perfectly fine again until this happens in about hour or two.
When i really had connection issues in the past i had to reboot my router to restore connection, however even when connection came back firefox was not opening new pages until i restarted firefox.
However this time no connection issues but firefox thinks there's no connection.
There's some mechanism in firefox for detecting when there's no connection that does not check again if connection if restored or not until firefox restarted that somehow triggers either as bug or there's connection issue for 1 second then it triggers and does not work anymore.
I had this going for for a month already.

If you can figure out what the date the page expired when you run into this, it may tell you if its an issue with connecting to the cache.
Do you have these set to true:
browser.cache.disk.enable
browser.cache.memory.enable
If there is no detection does loading the page when bypassing the cache load the page?

My MBP thinks that there's an external monitor connected to the computer, when in fact there is not. My solution is to simply use "Mirror display" so that the screen's edges don't lead into another non-existent monitor. However, I'd really like to fix this. What's bringing you to that conclusion ?
When you run System Preferences/Displays is it showing something else ?
Are you sure it's not 'Spaces' at work (multiple desktops) ?
System Preferences/Spaces - uncheck 'Enable Spaces'

I set up my new HP Descjet 3054A . I had a problem becouse Apple give me CD as a driver. The thing was that CD wasn good for this printer becouse it was old software:) I had to go to Apple store so the specialist had to download me he wright driver. Becouse I didnt wannet to screw this up . When he downloaded driver I fired it up at house and thingworks perfect. The thing is when you download all the software from HP side . Then you have to connect your MAC to printer via USB . Fallow the instructions it should works. Worked for me. Good Luck!

If you're getting a network connection timeout error when downloading the iPhone's iOS update, then try temporarily turning off your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed.

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

If restarting Mac does not resolve your trouble, try all the relevant suggestions (including testing more than one Apple camera application in more than one user account) from Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight support article.
(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
If your Mac's System Information utility still does not recognize your inbuilt camera as a USB device, you most likely have a hardware problem. There are no user serviceable parts of the camera. For hardware help, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service. Unless you have a current backup, make one now. Then use the final "Troubleshooting" suggestion: "... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."

Do you think that there will be a new mac book with leopard in januarry.

When Mac OS X Leopard comes out in Spring 07 do you think there will be a new macbook. I am now debating over weather to buy my macbook now or later because i am worried that they will do what they did with the core 2 duo and make me able to get like a 2GB macbook for the price i payed for a 512MB macbook.
I know you might say "that you cant put a price on the extra 3 months" but i think that i really would want to wait. What do you recomend?? When Tiger was released was there a new macbook>>>>>?

I think the simple answer is "who knows?".
The Original MBP was launched Jan/Feb 2006 and updated to Core 2 Duo in November 2006. It's unlikely that a further upgrade will come within 6 - 9 months IMHO, but as I said at the very start, "who knows?'
If the computer you are considering will satisfy your computing needs now and into the immediate future (say 2 to 3 years), then make your decision based on that.
When I bought my first powerBook G4, it was updated 3 months later with faster processors etc, did I care? Nope. Why? Because the one I had was more gthan capable for my needs. It only slowed up too much a couple of months ago. I suspected a Core2Duo macBook Pro was due to be announced, so waited until it was and bought one to replace my 867Mhz PowerBook.
Frankly I don't care what Apple do with their new models now. I have a Mac Pro, I have a PowerMac G5 Quad and a MacBook Pro, I have no plans on buying any more computers for a couple of years or until the ones I have just don't hack it any more. Then I will be interested in what Apple are offering.
You have to understand that with Intel inside, as I have mentioned in a few threads previously, changes will take place quicker than they did with the PowerPC platform. They've got to since Apple now use the same insides as PC's do. This now makes them directly comparible. If you look at how fast PC's change, it will give you some indication of how quickly Apple will have to update their offerings to either stay ahead of or in line with other computer manufacturers offerings.
Technology always moves on. I buy when something is available that will more than meet my computing needs currently and for the foreseeable future (2 to 3 years on). I don't really care when an upgrade comes along and supercedes the specs on my machine. There's nothing you can do about it. Technology moves on.
Intel have already announced their Quad core technology, so I would guess somewhere down the line Apple will be offering Quad Core CPU machines. However, as the number of cores per chip increases, the Ghz per core drops, so you have to weigh up whether you want a Core 2 Duo running at 2.33Ghz, or a Quad Core running at say 1.6Ghz or less?
If you are worried about buying and then your system becomes outdated, metaphorically, by being upgraded shortly after, why not wait for the launch of the much rumoured Apple Super-Scooper Turbo Charged, time travelling MacBook UltraPro Extreme 332, a 332 core Intel CPU running at 2.0Ghz per core on a 15,000,000Ghz FSB. It will come with 500GB TDDR9 SDRAM (Turbo charged DDR9) and a 50TTB Hard Drive (Turbo charged seek time of -10ms - it accesses before you think about accessing it), graphics are based on holographic technology and no screen is needed, as the graphics are rendered in 3D above the system for true interactivity, also comes with THX certified Dolby 27.1 DTTS (turbo charged DTS with 27 channels). . .
But then that would be updated too of course. Oh well just accept what's on offer now and accept changes will always be made to further enhance and better current offerings. Alternatively just wait forever, eventually there will be a point where computers don't or can't be upgraded or updated to further enhance them. Not in my lifetime though.

I just downloaded Firefox 4 but there is no "connection scale" on the right hand bottom of the screen and no icons on the top left of the screen like a "home" for home page etc. top

On the old Firefox 3.0 I had a 'connection scale" on the bottom right hand corner (just above the time) which shows you the extent of connection. I also had icons on the top left hand corner of a 'home' for home page...etc. On Firefox.4.0 these are missing. Can they be obtained by the "settings"?

Getting message that :There is no connected Camera. I have rebooted several times and still can't get it back.

When I go to use Photo Both, Facetime, I get "There is no connected Camera". I have a built in camera but don't know how to fix it. I have tried rebooting in three steps several times. First time it worked, but everytime I log back in, I get the message again and now the reboot does not bring the camera back. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or should do to fix it?

My iPhone seemes to think that the headphones are connected egen they are not. So to talk to someone I have to put it On speaker or put in some headphones. I can't hear music and there is no sound egen i Get an sms or og I try to change the sound for sms!

The same thing happened to me on my old iPhone 3G. My guess was that water entered the headphone jack, and somehow made some short inside it making the iPhone believe that the headphone was plugged in. Pluggin and unpluggin the headset many times proved that sometimes it worked ok for a while, so what I did to solve the problem was spraying some good quality contact cleaner inside the jack, and voilá, still works fine after one year of the problem. Make sure you use a good quality contact cleaner WITHOUT LUBE, ( WD40 IS NOT GOOD FOR THIS PURPOSE) otherwise the lube will remain in the inside of your screen without a chance of cleaning it unless you dissasemble the iphone. A good quality contact cleanner should displace water and grease,and leave no residue after it evaporates ( IPA Iso Prophyl Alcohol, Hexane, or Heptane based products are ok)
The other possibility is taking it to the repair shop, and have it looked by an expert. Good luck!

Every time I open Firefox, it thinks that there's been a problem, and asks if I want to restore my last session.

I've seen a coupld of suggested solutions that invovle deleting files, and reconfiguring settings, but these all seem to be aimed at PC users; I'm on a Mac, and the instructions given don't work.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
