Firmware 7.4.1 stops 11n TC extended 5G mode from connecting 2 hidden SSID

Guys if you have any clues please post. Seems the new 7.4.1 firmware has a defect in it that causes an  TC time capsule (timecapsule) that is in extended wireless mode @ 5G from connecting to a 5G network that is hidden (closed network). TC does NOT join the hidden | closed 5GHz network
Others have reported or speculated this behaviour and I can from from this is the case.
My config amongst the older 2.5Ghz 802.11g devices (5 of them) is a separate 5Ghz network on the same subnet as:
• MAIN  airport extreme base station 802.11n connected to ADSL in 5Hgz frequency + an
•  apple TV connected to 5Ghz +
•  time capsule 1TB connected *that WAS connected 5Ghz at firmware v7.3.2*
this network is hidden (close network is ticked) | ssid is NOT BROADCAST.
tests:
• works all as advertised when network is not hidden (exposed) - the SSID is broadcast
• TIME CAPSULE DOES NOT connect to a _hidden 5Ghz network (ssid is nOT broadcast | "closed network" is ticked_.
I used a hint in a thread that stated to expose the hidden network (broadcast the ssid | untick closed network) and then reapply the 7.4.1 firmware - +naturally this does not resolve this issue+.
any ideas on resoving this that DONT include faling back to V7.3.2 (As this is unstable anyway) or swapping around the AEBS amd the TC (which I will try later).

Guys, *I will retract this post*. My TC in bridge mode now connects to my hidden 5G network.
THere appears to be no defect.
I have no idea what the magic or logic is behind it but after giving up on it last night, +the fairies+ had visited an the Time Capsule was flickering away madly and the TIMEMACHINE backups were running fine.
Beats me.
I beleive that there is some latency required(?) by the V7.4.1 firware update in such a circumstance to synchronise wi the ain base stations.
I tried this again and can confirm the TC in my case takes 10s of minsutes to come back in his hidden network. SO I wont be messing wi this too much.

Note there is a further change in Firefox 20, that will provide Private Browsing on a per Window basis, allowing you to use some tabs for Private Browsing, whilst most behave normally and save information. The help (kb) articles should be automatically updated to cover this.

Getting a video card that supports extended desktop mode: AGP? PCI?

Hi guys and gals (and everything in between),
One of the reasons I got a Power Mac not so long ago was the convenience of using two or more displays at once, but then I discovered that the stock ATI Rage 128 in my Gigabit 450 (dual) does not support two displays. (I discovered it the hard way, when I connected a recently acquired Studio display to it, and my trusty CRT stopped getting a signal.)
I won't be using the computer for games, design or anything graphics intensive, mostly word processing (I'm a translator/editor/writer by trade), so I do not need the high end of the video card spectrum --just an AGP card that could allow me to work on extended desktop mode, preferably with an ADC connector. Would a Radeon 7500 suffice?
Or maybe a PCI card? I have read a lot in this forums against getting a PCI card, because of the 33 Mhz bottleneck, but wouldn't it work well enough for checking email and working on 2 or 3 documents at once?
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!

Extended Desktop Mode on iMac G5

New iMac user here,
Just picked up a G5 iMac w/ 2.1 GHz. Video card is Radeon X600 XT.
Wanted to know if this will run 2 displays in extended desktop mode.
Everymac.com says that video card will, with some other firmware.
Has anyone tried this? What steps need to be done? Success rate?

It's been a month since you posted this question, so I hope you get this reply. The answer is yes! I have been using extended desktop on my iMac G5 for a while now with no problems. Do a Google search for "screen spanning doctor." Double check the supported systems, but I think yours is on the list.

Tablet PC calibration error in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 whilst in Extended Desktop Mode

Hey everyone!
I've run into a snag which hasn't bugged me before because I never used a second monitor, but now that I do, Photoshop and Illustrator don't function properly.
I am running my Adobe products on my Lenovo X61 Thinkpad Tablet, which is Wacom PenEnabled. It's got the basic digitizer pen and pen pressure features, no stylus tilt or anything.
Whenever I run Photoshop or Illustrator in Extended Desktop Mode so I can have a different window open on my external monitor and the Adobe app on my tablet screen, my stylus goes strange. It seems to think that the extended desktop is part of the Adobe window, so when I move my stylus to draw, the cursor will appear on the external monitor, usually proportionate to the size of the screen...ie. It interprets the external and tablet screens as one desktop and the top left corner of my tablet screen is the top left of my external, whilst the bottom right on tablet IS the bottom right on tablet, if that makes any sense...sorry.
So I can't draw anything in photosho unless I set it back to standard desktop mode, or mirrored desktop. I've searched over the net and these forums and I can't find a fix for this. I was walking in harvey norman the other day and the Wacom Cintiq 12" was there on display, and it had the same issue with extended desktop and photoshop.
Has anyone had this issue before and/or does anyone know of a fix for it? I'll keep searching around and playing with the computer until I fix it and I'll post any solutions I find here if noone else has one.

OS: Windows Vista Build 6001, Service Pack 1, 32bit
RAM: 2GB

I'm using an HP tx2011au tablet pc, using adobe flash cs3 and have the exact same problem. it becomes decalibrated only while the flash window is open, and only while flash has a file open, and only when using an extended desktop. even if flash is open and it has no files open it works fine.

I have signed out then back into the cloud. I have comfirmed location of the photostream folder. I have have even restored settings on my phone. any ideas on what I can do to get it working again? or do I have to accept defect, and manually save my photos?

I can no longer control my music through my car's stereo system. I am unable to choose what song, album, playlist, etc. to be played and cannot skip songs. When I try to skip, it reverts back to the first song. When I choose what to be played directly on my phone, it can only be played for about 30 seconds through my car's stereo system before it stops and displays the message "Unsupported Version." How can this be fixed? (Also, I know it is my iPhone and not my car because someone I know has the same exact car as me from 2009 and it did the same thing on theirs.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This problem is extremely frustrating and the alternative of trying to change music directly on my phone while driving is a risk I am not willing to consider. Thanks!

How do I stop Windows 7 from searching hidden files and folders

In XP it was simple with the intuitive Advanced Search Options.
Even if you enable "Don't show Hidden Files and Folders" in Windows 7, they still show up in the search menu. A similar post included a suggestion by a support dude to post a question here. I've searched for every possible solution and yet something so simple appears to be non existent. Has Microsoft just lost its mind with omitting this feature? Is this something that will never be solved? Indexed or not, hidden files and folders still appear in Search.

what have you setup in Explorer->Organize->Folder & Search Options?
Don't show hidden and Hide: Empty, Protected, etc. all ticked
if you have at some stage indexed all those system folders, and subsquently removed those from the index scope, then you may need to rebuild the index so those results are not presented by searches?
i've assumed that you are getting things like \windows included, and this seems to be typical. perhaps because some common tools like notepad, wordpad etc reside in those folders.
have you checked out the Indexing Options?
from memory, "don't show hidden & system" really only obscures the stuff when you're browsing in explorer. the indexing engine doesn't respect that kind of setting. you'll need to get your indexing scope worked out to affect the search results presented.
I'm not concerned much with indexing, it's just amazing that there is no option to stop "Search" from searching hidden files and folders when "Don't show hidden" is checked - the way it was with XP, etc. As I understand it whether folder is indexed or not, will not stop "SEARCH" from searching them. It was quite simple in XP but in Windows 7 it seems it is impossible.

The PowerBooks have an F-key that toggles mirrored and extended mode. My PB is loaned out right now but I think it was f7. The keycap has an icon on two overlapping rectangles, as I recall.

That older iMac isn't designed to receive video input through the mini-DVI connection. Only certain newer iMacs are able to be used as displays.
Your only options are to use something like ScreenRecycler mentioned above.
