First php session transaction hangs.

We set up Php with AS10g 9.0.4.1 about 8 mths ago.
Each day the first user of our Php Application sees the first form ok, but when the user submits the first transaction by submitting the form, the form just hangs. The next user or same user starts another session of the Php application and all submissions work fine.
It seems that it is always this first transaction in the morning that hangs.
We know for sure there is NOT a connection problem to the database, as the developer has the application step out of the application if the database connection fails, and this has not happened.
Our configuration is
AS10g 9.0.4.1
I downloaded I PHP 4.3.10 from www.php.net and set it up with the AS10g 9.0.4.1.
Any ideas?

As David_Powers said, check first, if sessions working correctly.
I don't know how your database is designed but i would be surpriesed if the query fetchs a result. Email and MM_Username are the same?

    EJB transaction hanging over VPN connection
    I am trying to diagnose a problem that only occurs when I am doing testing from home and connected via VPN to work.
    We are using WL 10.3. Our clusters are setup to communicate via multicast. We have a stateless session bean that uses many different resources (Sybase DB, other EJBs, Sonic JMS). I have a local EJB on my home network that I am testing and it connects with other EJBs and resources on my corporate network. While I don't think it is related to the problem, there is a cluster of the same EJB I am trying to test deployed to my corporate environment. i.e. I am testing ResetService EJB and there is a deployed domain cluster of several ResetService EJBs in the environment I am connecting to. My local server and admin domain are named differently than the one deployed and my local ejb shouldn't try to connect to the cluster in the environment.
    When I make a call into my local ejb everything seems to work as expected until it gets to the commit part of the transaction (after my ejb returns). At this point the executing thread hangs at the following location
    "[STUCK] ExecuteThread: '16' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'" daemon prio=2 tid=0x2e8cb400 nid=0x22fc in Object.wait() [0x3031f000]

            at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:173)This thread is obviously waiting for a notification from some other thread but it is unclear what exactly it is waiting for. This only seems to happen when I am connected via VPN because when I try this same setup connected directly to my corporate network at work it works fine.
    I connected w/ debugger and tried to dig. Some interesting observations I see are.
    1) The ServerTransactionImpl object that is hanging has a 'preferredHost' of a different machine on my corporate network. It is an EJB that my service got some information from but it wasn't involved in any create, update, or delete aspects of the tran so in theory it shouldn't be part of it. Does anyone know what exactly this peferredHost attribute is signifying? I also see this same remote ejb server reference defined in a ServerCoordinatorDescriptor variable.
    2) I also sometimes see other XA resources (JMS) with this ServerTransactionImpl that point to references of resources that live on other machines on my corporate network (not my local ejb). This doesn't always seem to be the case though.
    VPN will definetly block multicast packets from the corporate env back to my machine. I don't think it works from my machine to the corporate env machines either.
    I also have two IPs when connected over VPN. One for my local home network and one given to me by my VPN client. I have setup my local WL server to listen on the VPN client provided IP which the corporate machines should be able to resolve and send TCP message over.
    This definetly seems to be transaction related because when I remove the tran support from my ejb things work as expected. The problem is I need to test within the transaction just like it runs in a deployed environment so this isn't really a fix.
    My theory: My local test WL EJB is waiting for a communication from some other server before it can commit the tran. This communication is blocked due to my VPN connection. I just don't know what exactly it is trying to communicate and how to resolve if that is in fact the problem. I thought about looking into unicast rather than multicast for cluster communication but in my mind that doesn't come into play here because I am not deploying a local cluster for my EJB and I thought multicast was just used for inter-cluster communication.
    I also saw some docs talking about resources need to be uniquely named when inter-domain communication is performed (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs81/ConsoleHelp/jta.html#1120356).
    Anyone have any thoughts on what might be going on?
    Here is some log output from my local WL instance:

  • OT: ending PHP sessions

    is there a way to run a script when a PHP session
    ends/closes? To do
    some cleanup?

    Alexander Ross wrote:

    That begs the question of why save the image in the first
    place.
    However, there are two approaches you can take:
    1. Ask the user to log out and use unlink() to remove the
    saved image as
    part of the logout process.
    2. Set up a scheduled task (cron job on a linux server) to
    delete all
    images that are more than two hours old, and run it once
    every 24 hours.
    Even if you do the first, you would probably need to
    implement the
    second one too, because you can't rely on everyone logging
    out.

  • Purchasing Transactions Hanging

    Hello,
    Since our upgrade to ECC 5.0, we have been having sporadic reports of purchasing transactions hanging while in create or change mode in specific purchasing transactions (ME21N, ME22N, and ME54).  The user would be making a change, for example, and the session would hang - i.e. the hourglass would appear and the only way the user would have of getting out of it is to kill the session, losing their changes. The trouble is we have not been able to narrow down the cause and OSS notes searches have proven unsuccessful to this point.  We have had DBA's look into SQL traces as well as locking records etc...  SAP support has been unable to help so far because of the inconsistent nature of the occurrences and because we are unable to reproduce the problem in our test environments.
    Has anyone else experienced this type of problem, and if so, how have you dealt with it?

    Hi leslie,
    When we do the upgarde tables indexes need to be created at the database level as well.
    You can get the table name by running the SQL trace or check the timeout short dump and find the source code line (point of termination) where it takes more time. goto SE11 ,check for the indexes.
    There is possiblity that indexes exist in SAP but not in database (for ex oracle).You get to know this message by checking the table indexes using SE11.
    You need to ask the basis consultants to recreate the same.
    This would resolve your issue.
    Or you can let me know the source code where it is actually happening.
    I will try to help you.
    Thank you.

  • JdbcRowSetXImp (..): SET TRANSACTION must be first statement of transaction

    Hi.
    Im running JSC created application and getting in the log file this messages:
    [date & time] warning (24167): CORE3238: stderr: JdbcRowSetXImpl (setTransactionIsolation): [Sun][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01453: SET TRANSACTION must be the first statement of transaction
    As you may see, Im using JSC JDBC drivers. Im running on Sun One Web Server version 6.1 sp2 on Linux RedHat 3Ent. The application was builded with JSC me with latest patch applied.
    It seems a bug in the JdbcRowSetXImpl.
    Has someone similar problem?
    Regards.

    Hi John.
    This message is present on all log file a few days after the application began in production use, almost a month ago.
    The only change done in the configuration few days after the app was deployed was "Guarantee Isolation Level" in the JDBC connection pool configuration, switched from OFF to ON.
    Yesterday I turn OFF again and have no more messages about SET TRANSACTION...
    I guess that the SET TRANSACTION is issued two times, one by the web server before giving the connection to the app then by the row set impl.
    I will let you known if the messages appears again (I guess not).
    Regards.

  • Why we load Master data first before loading Transaction data

    Hi Experts,
    why we load Master data first before loading Transaction data, specify any reasons for that ? Is it mandatory to load MD first ?
    I will allocate points to those who help me in detail. My advance thanks who respond to my query.
    Edited by: Nagireddy Pothireddy on Mar 10, 2008 8:17 AM

    Hi Nagireddy,
    I hope this helps....
    The bottom line for building cubes it to view facts against dimensions. When i say facts these are the key-figures i.e sales volume, Sales vat etc against some characteristics like sales Area,  Cost center , plant.
    Basically charateristics are those against which key-figures are measures like Costcenter, plant, material etc.
         Dimensions are a grouping of related characteristic. So basically a cube has a central fact table with dimesions associated to it in a relational schema. Imagine now you want to view a key figure Sales Volume against a dimension plant. when you consider plant , it has a distribution channel, purchasing organisation , company code, sales area, region etc associated with it. So which form the attributes of plant and also have some or the other description (texts) and aslo hierarchy. first we load the master data and then the transaction data follows.

  • Php session

    Hey everyone,
    Lovin adobe muse, it has allowed me to start up an old project of mine. I ran into a problem however and I ope someone here can help me.
    I have created a log in system using php and mysql. The problem I am having is that if I load another page on my site I lose my php session because I am unable to write session start at the very beginning of my page. My work around is to publish and then open it in dream weaver add the code and then upload to my site.....annoying to do. Does anyone know of another way to fix this problem? Does session_start() have to be at the very beginning? Thanks in advanced.

    To use cookie-based sessions, session_start() must be called before outputing anything to the browser.
    - http://php.net/manual/en/function.session-start.php
    Also, I would like to mention that this is not the right place to put up a php based query as the community will be more interested in assisting you in the Muse related queries and be benefited from it in return. A better place infact would be something like php.net or stackoverflow.
    Hope that helps.

    But how does session_id() kow which session I'm talking

  • [SOLVED] PHP sessions problem

    Since I don't often visit any other forum, someone here might be able to help
    I have a *very* basic web 'application' written which uses PHP sessions. For some reason, the session variable only exists in one page. Change to another and it disappears. Surely session variables are suppose to avoid this problem?
    Maybe I've got something entirely wrong. Any idea?
    Last edited by kourosh (2010-04-14 03:50:55)

    Well I've done a basic test:
    test.php
    <?php
    session_save_path("/home/a7049782/public_html/films/tmp");
    session_start();
    $session_path = session_save_path();
    $_SESSION['count']=1;
    ?>
    <html>
    <body>
    <?php echo "Count=" . $_SESSION['count']; ?>
    </body>
    </html>
    This sucessfully outputs 1
    Then another page:
    test2.php
    <?php
    if(isset($_SESSION['count']))
    echo "Count=" . $_SESSION['count'];
    else
    echo "No variable.";
    ?>
    Which outputs 'No variable.'
    (I've also tried this without defining a path, still the same result)

  • Stateless Session EJB hangs using URLConnection but WLS doesn't clean up

    Hi
    We have a stateless session EJB running under WLS 5.1 with service
    pack 10 on Solaris.
    The bean calls a remote HTTP server using the java.net.URLConnection
    class and forwards the response to the EJB client. The bean is largely
    working fine but some threads hang waiting on the HTTP response. Debug
    statements, which are written immediately after the response has been
    read and the connection has been closed, do not appear in our log for
    the hung threads. The WebLogic Console displays these threads as "in
    use" and a "netstat -an" displays the tcp connections as ESTABLISHED.
    However, the access logs of the remote Apache server show the HTTP
    connections of the threads in question completed successfully with
    HTTP code 200. The Apache server is using keep-alive connections.
    Some EJB threads are still waiting for something it seems.
    Has anyody else experienced this when using URLConnection from
    stateless session EJBs under WLS?
    The second problem is why doesn't WLS time these threads out after
    trans-timeout-seconds (we're using the default of 300 seconds)? The
    WLS log shows no error messages relating to this problem.
    I'm grateful for any info offered.
    Thanks in advance
    Steve

    If you suspect that WLS protocol handler is at fault (and quite often it is),
    one thing to try is (if you use Sun's JVM) to use Sun's HTTP protocol handler
    instead of WLS (the most common symptom is when code which makes HTTP requests
    works fine outside of WebLogic and you have problems getting it to work inside
    WebLogic) :
    replace
    URL url = new URL("http://...");
    HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection)url.openConnection();
    with
    URL url = new URL(null, "http://...", new sun.net.www.protocol.http.Handler());
    HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection)url.openConnection();
    You will have to edit weblogic.policy to allow your code to specify protocol
    handler.
    Also note that transaction timeout is only checked on method boundaries, or
    when your code attempts to do something with the database - it is not going to
    interrupt thread which is waiting for HTTP response.
    Steve Lock <[email protected]> wrote:
    Hi
    Thanks for the info. The remote HTTP server's access log shows that
    the requests were successfully processed. Doesn't this mean that the
    connection is then closed? I know the web server is using keep-alive
    connections but I thought this was transparent to the client...?
    Also why doesn't WLS remove the hung threads?
    Steve
    "Ignacio G. Dupont" <[email protected]> wrote in message news:<[email protected]>...
    We have had a problem like yours with Weblogic 6.1 SP2 on Linux
    The problem is sun's implementation of the HTTP connections doesn't have a
    timeout, so if the other peer doesn't close the connection your threads will
    be "locked" on the connection.
    We have found searching the web that the Jakarta project has a package
    called Jakarta commons that implements HTTP connections with an
    setSoTimeout(int timeout) method so you can open the connections with your
    desired timeout. You have to download the code from the CVS as the released
    version doesn't support the timedout sockets yet.
    When support for the JDK 1.4 version will be announced by Bea you could use
    one of its new features that will allow you to pass arguments to the JVM to
    specify the maximum socket connection stablising timeout and the max
    inactivity on the socket too.
    Hope it helps you.

    During the problem we ping DC and Network Share where Profile and Document Redirection resides and they were working OK (we also did a
    \\server\HomeUsers and we reached it without problem)
    Only reseting the server worked, Any Ideas of what could be causing this ?? Best Regards

    Hi Clarence,
    Today we experienced the problem again,
    Users can’t login to RDS, but now they got stucked at “"Please wait for the Group Policy client”;
    System log events recorded the following errors again:
    timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the Schedule service.
    timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the sessionenv service.
    timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the ShellHWDetection service.
    timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the Wuauserv service.
    timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the BITS service.
    timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the CertPropSvc service.
    What path do you suggest to investigate further?
    Thanks a lot!

  • EJB Entity/Session Transaction error

    I am getting an error from a Session EJB trying to update two distinct Entity EJB's. From the session bean I open a transaction and create two entity objects. But immediately after trying to create the first one I get the following message:

    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.

    I am using CMP Entity beans. These have their methods specified as "Supports" and the Session Bean (Stateless) has its method as "Required".
    I am using the container within the embeded OC4J server for debuging.
    The transaction is created within the Session Bean as:
    // Get a new transaction instance from session context
    UserTransaction ut = sctx.getUserTransaction();
    try {
    // begin transaction
    ut.begin();
    // Current time
    Timestamp currentTime = new Timestamp(new Date().getTime());
    // Insert record in CWUsuarios
    CWUsuarios newCWUsuarios = getCWUsuariosHome().create(null,
    cwUsuario.getLogin(), cwUsuario.getPassword(),
    cwUsuario.getNombre(), cwUsuario.getApellidos(),
    currentTime, currentTime, cwUsuario.getActivo(),
    cwUsuario.getRoot(), cwUsuario.getIdperfil());
    // Insert record in CWPreferencias
    CWPreferencias newCWPreferencias = getCWPreferenciasHome()
    .create(newCWUsuarios.getIdusuario(),
    cwPreferencias.getCodigoidioma(),
    cwPreferencias.getIdtema(),
    cwPreferencias.getNregslistados());
    however after returning form the getCWUsuariosHome().create method i get the specified error message.
    Thanks.
