First time video in Flash

Question

Hello. I am new to Flash (a bit late perhaps in this day and age!) but anyhow I am to produce a banner with a movie inside that will only play when the user pushes the play button. I have tried and failed so many times. The movie just plays no matter what stop() and not I put in there. Can anybody help me please. My time is running out for this project.

Make 2 frames and in the 1 st frame make your button
and write the actions as follows for the first frame.
give your button an instance name such as btn_1
stop();
btn_1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToAndStopAtFrame);
function fl_ClickToGoToAndStopAtFrame(event:MouseEvent):void
  gotoAndStop(2);
In the 2nd frame put your movie inside a movie clip and simply use the
stop();
command for the actions panel
Everything should work as required.
