Fixing a problem in a reports region

Hi, I have this code in cloning a popuplov inside a reports region but it has a bug it will not put a value in the textfield when selected. How will I fix this?

when you add a row and select the POP UP LOV the textfield will ne null no value is displayed.

The implementation of the <tt>apex_item.popupkey_from_lov</tt> control is rather clunky: a row-specific JS function is generated for each control in a <tt>script</tt> element that is hard-coded for that row. Your <tt>cloneRow</tt> function appears to be copying the <tt>script</tt> elements containing these functions, but you are not modifying the function JS code—it still contains the hard-coded values that refer to the original row.

Firefox is not allowing me to add new tabs. I'm pushing the plus sign next to my tab, and it is no longer adding new tabs. How do I fix this problem?

When I open Firefox, I automatically have one tab. The plus sign button to add more tabs is next to the one tab, but it no longer adds tabs when I click on it. When I click on it, it doesn't do anything. How can I fix this problem so I can have multiple tabs? I downloaded the most current version of Firefox, and I'm still having the same problem. Viewing a pdf in Firefox browser has white lines. How can I fix the problem?

Viewing a pdf document in the FireFox browser (other browsers the document is fine) shows white lines though the pictures. I have tried different ways to save the document (printing or save as) as a pdf and I either get white lines or missing content while viewing on Firefox.

Please update to the latest version of Firefox.

Which pdf viewer are you using?
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:

Reports region only shows 15 rows

I have a strange problem with a reports region. The region runs a simple SQL select against a table. My table has 18 rows but the report region only displays 15 rows.
I ran the SQL directly against the database and all 18 rows are returned, so it's not a problem with the query.
Under the Report Atrributes tab for the region, I checked the Layout and Pagination section. Number of rows was set to 15, which I thought explained my problem.
I deleted the value in number of rows. But the region still only shows 15 rows.
If I change the value in number of rows to 20, all 18 rows are shown. But again, if I delete the 20, only 15 are shown.
Is there some other setting somewhere which is defaulting the report to 15 rows?

That item is cleared as well. Very strange. Still can't see anything on the page that's causing it to only show 15 rows.
Edit -
Setting it to 999999 seems to cure the problem until I find a solution. Very strange, maybe it's a bug?

Problem with using a Spatial Query in a report region

All: I am trying to create a report region using the below query. The query is syntactically correct and returns 10 rows. I have checked it out in SQL Developer AND in APEX SQL Workshop. It returns rows in 1-2 seconds.
However, after putting the query into a report region, the APEX page locks up when it runs. I've tried masking it in a view, using other functions. I can places the spatial function in the select clause and it works. However, placing the function in the Where clause causes the page to lock up.
Any thoughts?

This is an error reported by the optical drive's firmware. The tracking servo is the servomechanism which guides the laser pickup along the track on the optical disc. The error means that the servo couldn't do its job within the programmed parameters. What it doesn't say is why.
You have to be very precise as to when this error occurs. If it occurs as you wrote, while it "starts preparing to write the disc", and not when it has actually began to burn, then it's likely that the drive has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
There are other possibilities, so you should check them, but they would be more likely if the error occurred after the drive began to write. OrangeMarlin has suggested two options -- try a different brand of CD or DVD, and try cleaning the lens.

Problem using CASE within SELECT in a standard REPORT region

I'm trying to do a CASE-oriented SELECT within a standard REPORT region and the parser is rejecting the SQL statement.
The code I'm using is the following:

The parser says the (case .... ) is invalid, use column alias. The query works correctly when using SQL_Developer and SQL*PLUS.
My intention is to replace an '@' with ':' within the citation text. The standard citation format should have a colon, but this causes problems with AppExpress, hence the substitution situation.
Any insights on this or on another way to achieve the purpose?

Report region columns constrained to 4000 chars? Hitting LOV problems.

I've hit a problem that I'm hoping will have a simple answer.
Quick overview of issue:
APEX 3.01 application running against a 10gR2 DB.
We have an LOV defined that works just fine on various forms but in report regions where the LOV is available via a drop down column value in the report region HTML table we are hitting the error:
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
Some judicious debugging reveals that this seems to be because we are trying to load in more than 4000 characters into the LOV drop down in the report regions HTML table column (it's a moderately large LOV)..
This suggests that the default column type in a report region HTML table is VARCHAR2 and thus that there is a default 4000 character limit on any such column values, would that be a fair assumption? I know that the actual report row size always used to be limited to a total of 32k but this limit is a new one to me.
If there is such a limit, does anyone have any suggestions on how to work-around it i.e. is it possible to redefine report region column values to be other datatypes/dimensions or should we be looking at using an alternative such as a pop-up instead?

Okay, what we have is a fairly simple Dynamic Page with two report regions (both standard type of 'SQL Query'). The second report region is the one causing us the headache. The column headings are set to 'Custom' but apart from that everything seems as it should be.

All appears well until the number of values being returned in the second LOV (retrieved by the apex_item.select_list_from_lov_xl) exceeds 4000 characters and then we get the error first detailed. The substr around the function isn't usually present, it was added during the debugging, if I allow one more character than the 4000 or remove the substr completely then I get the error again. If the same function is used to retrieve the LOV on a normal Dynamic Form field then all is well, it only seems to have a problem when present in the HTML table being generated.
Are we doing something silly here?

Fixed Width Report Region

Is it possible to set a report region to fixed width rather than auto? If so, where do I edit this? Thanks!

Oh yes, you can do it on the fly with Dynamic Actions. Its all about changing the CSS Class property for table width.
Once you know how to identify the table and have its "class", you write a Dynamic Action at process point "After Page" to change the Class width property.
You could also write a OnLoad JS function to do the same. Depends on which you are more comfortable.

Problem Refreshing Report Region

I have a Report Region, based on a SQL Query. It works fine, and returns the records Queried.
My problem, is that it is not Refreshing, after page Refresh. I even tried Logiing out, and then back in. In my latest attempt, I deleted ALL the records, logged out, and then back in. The prior Report Results were still there. It seems like it is Cached somewhere. The Caching is set to Not Cached.
I am stumped.
Please give me advice. Thanks!

I have seen that only when I thought my query is selecting from a particular table but that wasn't the case. You could create an empty copy of your table and replace the original one in the sql just to see what happens.

Hierarchy indentation problem in the sql report region

I've the following sql statement in sql report region. it works fine by bringing the all the users reporting to a manager correctly. In the sample user table below manager/id are in parent/child relationship.
select id from user_table start with upper(id)=upper(:p332_person_short_id) connect by prior id = manager

user2
user3
where user2 and user3 are reporting to user1.
But I want to give some indentation between the user levels to show the hierarchy clearly in the report as below
user1
user2
user3
I tried with the following statment. It does indent the users correctly but in hierarchy is reversed.

the output is

I think padding with blanks will not work in HTML. You will have to pad with "Â ".
So, something like this should work:
select replace(lpad('@',6*(level-1),'@'),'@','&nbsp;')||id "User" from ....

Scan your computer in safe mode for bots, malware, trojan's and viruses. Remove any Found and reboot. If Problem still exists, go to control panel, add/remove programs remove firefox. and then download and reinstall firefox. Remember to always close as many running programs like messangers and widgetts when installing any program. This should fix your problem. only other option is to do a system restore to when you were not having any problems, this works 90% of time.
