Fixing IMAP subscription and ended up with Trash as a regular folder

I have these ghost IMAP folders that keep showing up (problem at ISP). I keep unsubscribing them, but this time I accdentally lost my Trash folder and when I got it back, it was a regular folder. It sorts at the bottom of the folder pane and doesn't have the trash icon or the Empty Trash option any more.
How can I fix this?
I have a lot of folders with a lot of email in them, so I don't want to do any "start from scratch" stuff.

Trash works fine - already did the things you suggest - several times.
The problem is that Thunderbird sees Trash as a regular folder, not as a special one - so it puts it alphabetized at the end of the folders instead of at the top where it belongs and it no longer has the Empty Trash context option.
How do I make it "special" again?
What file does that live in and how is it supposed to look?
I've been looking at my INBOX.sbd files, but can't quite make sense of them yet. The one for the account that works has a bunch of stuff it it that looks OK. One has nothing in it (maybe it's my Newsgroup/RSS one), and the third one has some entries in it but doesn't look like it matches the broken account - not enough entries.
FYI, I have another account that I didn't mess up and the Trash folder there works the way it's supposed to.

I had a specific need for the 4G and since it doesn’t work, I don’t NEED it. The biggest lie I bought into is that MOTO is/was supposed to release a software update that is supposed to fix the flip flop 3G to 4G. I talked to a tech tonight at Verizon that was honest enough to tell me that if there was one that was going to be released (within my 14 day period) that they would have been notified of that. Well guess what, he doesn’t have any notices. But every person I talked to at Verizon said there was going to be an update, is it another one of those…no one knows their butt from a hole in the grown or was he telling the truth. Well it makes sense now that when I was talking with the second level tech at MOTO he didn’t know what the heck I was talking about. There’s your proof that the people you call and talk to at Verizon are devious, deceptive jerks and are only out to make money off us and could really care less that you just spent a bundle of money on a piece of cow dung and that their only goal is to keep you tied into the 2 year contract. After talking with the last tech at Verizon that told me there was no notification of a software update coming from MOTO or at least not in the next two weeks, I decided to take back all my accessories to the Verizon store in my area and return the Bionic tomorrow. But guess what, unlike the rest of America where the return policies are 30 days, Verizon also changed the return policies on the accessories too. So I’m stuck with over $100 of “STUFF” that cannot be used on any other phone. My bad, I didn’t have my reading glasses, look 12 inches down the long small print page to see that it said 14 days, when I bought the “STUFF” and I didn’t know that Verizon’s changes applied to the accessories in there stores too. Why is this and issue because Verizon did have me buy another Bionic phone under a new 14 day policy but because I didn’t realize that same policy applied to the hardware at their local stores, I’m stuck with the “STUFF”. Guess what Verizon; you devious, deceptive jerks, what goes around comes around. You are going to get to know me real well in the coming days, weeks, months and years; I’m going to picket until the freakin cows come home and hopefully get on the local news channels too. I’m going to hopefully create a nationwide movement that will either ruin your company or force you to restore the 30 day policy and I don’t care if you try to sue me that will be even better as it will draw even more attention. Money is hard to come by these days and I’ll not let you screw me over like this and get away with it. Because you are treating your customers like cow dung, I WILL NEVER extend my contract again; when this contact ends I’m switching to another cell provider. I’ve been with you since 2004 but tomorrow I’m switching my family’s phones over as soon as possible since they are not under any contract; this I hope will catch on and others will do the same. We can support the other companies and help them grow so that they can also provide better cell service and then we the people will have a choice, NOT TO GET SCREWED.     You cannot change these POs because their changed version has status
    'Deleted'. My proposal to fix them will be the following:
    You will have to set changed version as closed(DOC_CLOSED set to X)
    and in active version set DOC_CLOSED to space.

    Solution for Windows 8.1: Locate the C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE folder.  Log out of Creative Cloud and from Task Manager end task for Creative Cloud.  From the OOBE folder delete ALL files.  Do not delete folders (com.adobe.accc.apps & com.adobe.accc.home).  When complete, restart Creative Cloud and log in with ID and Password.

    I found an answer to this on another page (I was having the same problem) This worked for me:
    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

    Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
    Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
    Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.

    iTunes will only transfer them to your iPad, and once transferred to your iPad they cannot be imported to your other computer (only camera roll photos can).  You will either have to use a usb flash drive or external drive to transfer them, or use an app like PhotoSync, which will transfer photos between your devices and computers over your wifi.

    To get rid of hard disk icons on the Desktop, open Finder menu > Preferences > General, and untick "Hard disks" and/or "External disks", depending if it's your internal hard disk or an external disk

    Mike whether I create a folder within the Pictures Folder that iTunes uses to sync photographs or just copy them into the main folder the result is the same, I end up with Photo Library plus another album containing an identical set of pictures as contained in Photo Library.

    Yes I can Add a new Album, but cannot delete an album already created. The delete sign does not appear.
    In iTunes the only folder that I can see listed is the man one into which iTunes stores pictures, which I have named iPhone Photos.
    When I look on my PC this iPhone Photos folder contains another folder named iPod Photo Cache and a multitude of folders created by iTunes, the named F00, F01,F02 etc etc. and a Photo Database file.
    Now whether I create a seperate folder within iPhone Photos to store my favourite photos in, or just copy them all into the iPhone Photos folder without being encased within another folder, or create a folder inside the iPod Photo Cache folder the result is the same ...
    I end up with Photo Library plus another album containing an identical set of pictures as contained in Photo Library.
    I am going around in ever decreasing circles here and getting nowhere fast!!

    I am on a web page and there is an option to open or analyse another available page. I press the button or highlighted option. It then shows me it is transferring data and forwards me to a new tab but when it says done the new page has nothing on it. There is no option pop up allowing me to enable scripts so I end up with nothing. An example is on orange.fr. It asks if I want to see my bill (facture) I press (consulter ma facture) It appears to be loading a new page and is transferring info but the new page opens and it is empty. There is no option to allow scripts.

    You can't access an Exchange account via ActiveSync with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac.
    You can access a MM account with Outlook on your PC at work and keep your MM email account server stored mailboxes synced between your PC at work, your iPhone, and the MM "cloud". Not sure about syncing MM contact info and calendar events with Outlook at the same time with an Exchange account.
    This will not provide for syncing your Exchange account contact info and calendar events with the Addresss Book and iCal on your Mac because the accounts are separate.
    You can access an Exchange account and a MM account at the same time with the iPhone's mail client, and sync contact info and calendar events over the air with both accounts at the same time. You can view combined contact info or separately for each account, and the same for calendar events.
