Flash 8 - Re-order an array, simple binding of xml

I am prototyping a data table display. I need to show a data
table inside a grid, using a simple xml file such as the one in the
"DinnerMenu" tutorial whereby a button loads the xml file into the
data grid component.
I want to know how to set the order of the fields to display
from left to right in the table (which I haven't figured out how to
do) either in the component settings or in the xml file, wherever
it works.
Then, I also would like to know how to get the data load
immediately when user reaches the scene, or just have it already
pre-loaded. Right now, al I know is the tutorial method where the
actionscript defines the button and onclick the data is loaded. I
want to show it already there.
Thank you!

set resultFormat="e4x" on your HTTPService tag, then in the
handler do:
var xmlResult:XML = XML(event.result);
trace(xmlResult.toXMLString)
Then use e4x expressions to select the desired list of nodes.
It will return an XMLList, which has many similarities to Array.
If you want to stick with the default nested object
structure, examine the result object (objUtil.toString(), if i
recall correctly) to determine how to craft the correct
navigational path.

STEPS to generate the Certificate from AD:
1. Installed the Certificate Authority from Add\Remove Windows Components.
2. Generated a Certificate Request in IIS by accessing CertSrv.
3. Issued the same certificate and imported that to the keystore of OIM server.
The AD is not responding over SSL (636). When I try to access the AD machine through expolrer as
https:<adhost>:636
Its not prompting to import the certificate. Also I am not able to connect to AD from LDAP browser.
Request you to kindly help me on this ASAP.

one more thing, Have you uploaded the LDAP servers certificate in the TrustedCAS of the keystore in Visual Admin in the WAS server? If you are using LDAP ssl the connection to the server will expect a certificate if you dont have the trust enabled you wont be able to connect

• LDAP Error : simple binding failed

I am trying to create an LDAP resource on my IDM.
I cannot get past the "Test Connection" phase, because I keep getting this error :
*"Unable to connect to LDAP on : mydomain.com. Simple binding failed"*
After browsing several forums, including google, I realize that the fault lies in the fact that : I am using an SSL, which has its authentication certificate.
My question is : How and where do I need to insert / refer to this certificate, so that IDM won't have a problem connecting to LDAP?
Thanks

I browsed quite a few APACHE TOMCAT documents, unfortunately there is not enough sensible explanation as to how exactly the import should be done.
I eventually settled for using the following command :
keytool -importcert -alias abc -file ABCCA.cer (where "abc" is the alias)
If I understand correctly, I imported the certificate into the KEYSTORE
The import was successful.
However, I am still getting the same error on my LDAP configuration.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there something ELSE I need to do ?
Or are the KEYSTORE and TRUSTSTORE entirely different things?

• Binding an XML file into LiveCycle

Currently we are using a .dat file to populate a .docx file, but we are having issues with layout and formatting and I want to switch it to using a PDF.
I have found lots of information on adding an XML Data Connection to a PDF, but nothing to do with troubleshooting. I created a simple XML file with three fields and I was able to connect it to a dynamic PDF and then generate the fields into the document. Now when I preview the PDF the values dont fill in, nor when I open it in Reader.
I have tested this on Designer ES2 and ES3 and Reader X.
I cant seem to find a way to attach the XML and PDF, but i will include the XML for reference:

<draft>
<number>100040</number>
<entered>02-18-2015</entered>

</draft>

Hello,
I believe I spoke too soon, the data now binds when I Preview the PDF in LiveCycle, but when I save it and then open it in Acrobat Pro or Reader, it does not bind the XML data in.
Any help is appreciated.

• Binding Data (xml) Successfully

Hi .... This is definitely a newbie question ... assistance appreciated.
I am having no problems getting data to preview properly, either using xml sample data or an ole connection to a database. I am guessing that for distribution where the data "travels" with the pdf (i.e. does not have a live connection to a server) there is an ability to make that happen. Checking the data binding in the Object Palette confirms the binding is "there".
But I can't figure out how to get the data to preview when I leave the LiveCycle Designer Environment and open up the pdf independently. I just get the form with textboxes that are empty. The simple idea is to bind the data for email distribution to recipients who will then update the existing content and return for manual re-import/update into the original database.
This is so newbie that it would seem like something easily found on the web or in books, but I'm not finding it anywhere including the Adobe Press book I purchased on LiveCycle Design.
Any help or direction to instructions/tutorials would be appreciated ... thank you .

The data needs to be merged onto the template (this is what is happening in the preview). You have 3 options to accomplish this:
1. Load the empty form and import the data. There are menu items for this or you can add a button on the form that asks the user for the file to import.
2. You can put a reference in the data file to the location of the template and have the user load he data file which in turn loads the template.
3. You can use LiveCycle server to merge the data and template together to make a prefilled PDF file.
Hope that helps

• How to binding incoming xml node list to the tree control as dataProvider

Recently, I faced into one issue: I want to binding incoming xml node (it's not avaliable at start) list to the tree control as a dataProvider.
Since the incoming xml node list is not avaliable at beginning but I needs to bind it to the tree, so I create one virtual one in the xml, and prepare to remove it before the tree is shown. (ready for the actual node adding). But It did not work.
Please see the presudo-code here:
1.  Model layer(CsModel.as)
public class CsModel
[Bindable]
public var treeXML:XML=<nodes><car label="virtualOne" id="1">
</car></nodes>;
(Here, I want to build binding relationship on the <car/> node,
one 'virtual/stub' node is set here with lable="virtualOne".
But this node will be deleted after IdTree
control is created completely.)
[Bindable]
public var treeData:XMLList =new XMLListCollection(treeXML.car);
2. view layer(treePage.mxml)
private var _model:CsModel = new CsModel();
private function addNode():void
var newNode:XML=<car/>;
newNode.@label="newOne";
newNode.@id=1;
_model.treeXML.appendChild(newNode);
private function cleanData():void
delete _model.treeXML.car;
<mx:VBox height="100%" width="100%">
<mx:Button label="AddNode" click="addNode()" />
<mx:Tree id="IdTree"  labelField="@label"
creationComplete="cleanData()"
dataProvider="{_model}"/>
</mx:VBox>
3. Top view layer (App.Mxml)
<mx:application>
<treePage />
</mx:application>
For method: cleanData(),It's expected that when the treePage is shown, we first delete the virutalOne to provide one 'clear' tree since we don't want show virtualOne to the user. The virutalOne node just for building the relationship between treeData and treeXML at beginning. But the side effect of this method, I found, is that the relationship between treeXML and treeData was cut off. And this leads to that when I added new node (by click the 'addNode' button) to the xmlXML, the xmlData was not affected at all !
So Is there any other way to solve this issue or bind the incoming xml node list to the xmlListCollection which will be used as Tree control's dataProvider ?

If u want to display the name : value then u can do like this
<xsl:eval>this.selectSingleNode("name").nodeName</xsl:eval> : <xsl:value-of select="name" />

• Writing multiple arrays to a single xml file at seperate times without overwriting the previous file?

Hi my name is Dustin,
I am new to labview and teststand... I am trying to right multiple arrays of data to a single xml file. I can do this with a cluster but I have to create a variable for each of those arrays (21 arrays) and I was hoping to use the same variable for each array. Meaning I obtain my array of data write it to an xml file then replace that array in that variable with a new array and then call up my VI that writes that array to an xml file and write it to the same xml file underneath the first array without overwriting it. Attached is my VI I created to write an array to an xml file. Again I am wondering if there is a way to write multiple arrays to a single xml file at different times without overwriting the previous xml file.
Thanks

• Radio Button binding to XML

Based on the examples
here
and
here
I have a datagrid which uses an XML object as its dataprovider. The
xml goes like this:
<questions>
<question>
<prompt>What are your heroes?</prompt>
<answers>
<answer>
<correct>true</correct>
<text>Luther Higgs</text>
</answer>
<answer>
<correct>false</correct>
<text>Barney Fife</text>
</answer>
</answers>
</question>
</questions>
Well formed (if a bit confusing) xml. In my datagrid I have
two columns. The second column binds to
questions.question.answers.answer.text and works just fine. The
datagrid's editable property is set to true, and I'm able to click
on the second colum and type and it saves the answer back into the
xml object just fine. The problem lies in my first column. The mxml
looks like this:
<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Correct">
<mx:itemRenderer>
<mx:Component>
<mx:VBox horizontalAlign="center">
<mx:RadioButton id="myRadioButton"
buttonMode="true" useHandCursor="true"
group="{outerDocument.myRadioButtonGroup}"
selected="{data.correct}"/>
</mx:VBox>
</mx:Component>
</mx:itemRenderer>
</mx:DataGridColumn>
The problem is that the radio buttons' selected properties
aren't bound to the xml, that is the one that is true doesn't
display as selected. If I set the datagridcolumn's editable
property to false, clicking on the radio button doesn't affect the
xml at all either. If I leave the editable property of the
datagridcolumn as the inherited default of true (based on the
parent datagrid's editable property) when I click on the radio
button the default itemEditor appears (a text input box) which
contains the following text:
</answer>
and when I leave the editor (click outside or hit enter) the
xml then looks like this:
<answers>
<answer>
<correct>true</correct>
<text>Luther Higgs</text>
</answer>
<answer>
<correct>false</correct>
<text>Barney Fife</text>
<null><answer>
<correct>false</correct>
<text>Barney Fife</text>
</answer></null>
</answer>
</answers>
I have seen controls that don't have the xml path written
correctly display the entire xml node rather than just the
contained data, but I can think of no reason anything should Ever
reference just the closing tag. To me this looks like a bug in the
data bindings between the radio button and the xml object.
Just to clear the air to avoid suggestions that will work but
not meet the design requirements, what I need is a datagrid that
has a radio button group (only one correct answer out of the group)
in the first column and strings in the second column which need to
be editable. I suppose I could write some hairy event listener code
and manually hack things together, but aside from avoiding that
headache, I'd love to use data bindings for what they were intended
for - I just need to know why it doesn't appear to be working
right. Much thanks in advance for any and all help.

Searching the LiveDocs revealed the answer. Under the topic
"Using an E4X expression in an <mx:Binding> tag" I found that
if instead of
<mx:RadioButton id="myRadioButton"
buttonMode="true" useHandCursor="true"
group="{outerDocument.myRadioButtonGroup}"
selected="{data.correct}"/>
I have
<mx:RadioButton id="myRadioButton"
buttonMode="true" useHandCursor="true"
group="{outerDocument.myRadioButtonGroup}"/>
<mx:Binding source="myRadioButton.selected"
destination="data.correct" />
It works just perfectly.
Apparently binding between XML and the selected property of a
radio button (which is of type boolean) needs the <mx:Binding
/> rather than the in-tag curly brace notation.

• How to bind a XML file to a dropdown list

Hello. I am trying to bind a XML file to a dropdown list as taught in the LiveCycle Designer Help. I created a XML file containing the following codes:

Then I connected to this XML file, created a dropdown list and then specified its dynamic properties as below:
However, when previewing this pdf this dropdown list seems empty. Nothing comes out. It seems to me a very basic question but I really need your help. Thanks !
Also, I would be very appreciated if someone could post me an working example of this.

Well I found out what was wrong.
You have to indicate the XML file in the filed "Data File" of "Preview" in the " Form Properties"....

• Binding Datagrid XML Data

Hi,
Summary: I cannot get my DataGrid binding with XML data.
Specifically, I cannot bind a DataGridColumn with a child of a
child using the dataField property. However, I can bind with a
direct child.
I'm currently building an application where I retrieve data
from a XML database and contact it through posting a XQuery to the
database. I set the resultFormat of my HTTPServer to "e4x".
quote:
<mx:HTTPService id="searchRequest" url="
http://localhost:8080/exist/rest/db/"
contentType="application/xml" useProxy="false"
method="POST" resultFormat="e4x" />
I receive this data:
quote:
<exist:result exist:hits="1" exist:start="1"
exist:count="1" xmlns:exist="
http://exist.sourceforge.net/NS/exist">
<schedule>

<location>

<state>CA</state>
<country>USA</country>

</location>
<tv>SVN</tv>

Basic testing...

</match>
</tournament>
</schedule>
</exist:result>
I receive the data fine however, I cannot nested
elements of the XML nodes I retrieve. Here is my data grid.
quote:
<mx:DataGrid id="grid" width="446" height="100%"
dataProvider="{searchRequest.lastResult.schedule.tournament.match}"
enabled="true">
<mx:columns>
<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Tournament" />
<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Match Date"
dataField="mdate" />
<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Sport" />
<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="City"
dataField="location.city"/>
<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="State"
dataField="location.state"/>
</mx:columns>
</mx:DataGrid>
The 'mdate' shows up however, 'location.city'
and 'location.state' do not. I am not sure how the dataField works.
Does it get the 'current' node and allow me to drill down in the
XML node?
I will note that I can get it working with a labelFunction
and an ItemRenderer. I feel that using either of those methods for
this is a bit verbose.

The default DGColumn picks up the property value by doing
data[dataField]. Due to this the nested value would not be picked
up.
By extending DGColumn and overriding the itemToLabel function
it is possible to get the desired functionality by adding code to
detect "field1.field2" kind of dataField value and returning the
nested value.
This custom DGColumn can be used whererever the functionality
is desired.

• How to update combobox that with xml source binding when xml updated in Powershell

I'm just newbie to WPF & Powershell. Currently have a Powershell program with XAML UI. Herein a combobox control binding a xml file. The problem lays in how can I update the combobox once xml updated? Thanks in advance!

Hello sihat,
I've read some articles about using PowerShell and WPF:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/hh288074.aspx
http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2014/04/06/weekend-scripter-build-a-clock-widget-by-using-powershell-and-wpf.aspx
It seems the steps are all related to using PowerShell to create WPF UI. As the script comes from PowerShell I would think that PowerShell related forum may much better.
I will introduce things in WPF, if you want to make UI update based on your source, the source must implement a suitable property change notification mechanism such as
INotifyPropertyChanged. See
How to: Implement Property Change Notification for an example of an
INotifyPropertyChanged implementation.
For more details about this WPF scenario, please see WPF databinding:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms752347(v=vs.110).aspx
If you want to do the same in PowerShell, please consider to post on PowerShell related forum to ask how you can write the same script.

• Adobe Flash Islands for Web Dynpro ABAP Data Binding problem

I have downloaded the NetWeaver 7.1 Trial (includes Adobe Flash Islands for Web Dynpro ABAP). I try to create a very simple FlashIslands component running within the Web Dynpro Application, everything looks good. However, all binding to the Flex component is not working. Does anyone know why?
Since it's trial version, I login as BCUSER into NSP system. When I load up the build-in sample, such as Chart Demo, the binding to Flex seems working. I suspect if it has anything to do with package? I could only create my Web Dynpro under the $TMP package, as all the build-in sample are defined in SWDP_DEMO.
Please help.

• ARRAY - simple (but tricky?)

Hi, I have a simple querstion regarding Array intialization.
I know that JAVA has the functionality to declare and initialize array in one line:
String stringarray[] = { "string1","string2","string3"};
Now my question is, why separating this kind of initialization from its declaration is not allowed?
String stringarray[];
stringarray = { "string1","string2","string3"};
Thanks

Okay, let me try again.
In order to create an array, the compiler needs to know what type of array to create. If I have code like this:
Object[] o;
o = { new Long(1), new Long(2) };The compiler could create either an Object array, a Number array, or a Long array, and the code would run fine. Except that somewhere along the line your code might have expected something different and a class-cast exception would get thrown.
So, to keep it simple, the rule seems to be that arrays can only be created when it is explicit what type is going to be created - in other words when there is no chance for ambiguity. The following lines don't have any ambiguity:
// a variable declaration gives the explicit type to use
Object[] o = { new Long(1), new Long(2) };
Number[] n;
// the "new" operator explicitly tells what type to use
n = new Number[] { new Long(1), new Long(2) };SO, although the following seems pretty obvious to a human viewer:
Object[] o = { new Long(1), new Long(2) };
// versus
Object[] o;
// some code here ..
o = { new Long(1), new Long(2) };The second part introduces the possibilty of ambiguity, because the array creation isn't part of a statement that explicitly tells the compiler what type of array to create. Take for example:
Number[] n = { new Long(0), new Long(1)};
Object[] o;
o = n;Which shows how an array of one type can be assigned to another that is part of the heirarchy.
As I mentioned above, I agree that this should be allowed, but I believe it was left out of the language because of the issues I've mentioned.
