Flash 8 SWF not showing up online

Hi all,
I have a flash SWF file that I embedded in an HTML page
through Dreamweaver. When I upload it to my site, it doesn't show
up. All I get is a dotted line box around where the file is suppose
to be. I isolated that earlier flash version work seemlessly but
this is Flash 8 with a skin.
When I test from Dreamweaver or publish a HTML page from
Flash, it works perfectly.
Anyone run into thisproblem yet? Any clues would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

Sorry.
I created the SWF file in Flash 8 using the FLVplayback
component. Then in Dreamweaver imported the SWF file like I have
done many times before. I uploaded the SWF, Skin.SWF, and the html
file to the server and when I go to the page the flash file does
not show up. Just a dotted box when my mouse is over the area.
here's the link.

  • External Swf Not showing up (Online)

    And i truly need help. I'm creating a website for somebody, and it works perfect offline, i have two empty movie clips on the main site. And one loads an external video player(swf), and the other loads the external accordion menu (swf) of the site. I test it offline and it works perfect. But when i test it online (hosted) its not loading the accordian menu. here are the links to the site.
    http://www.affiliatemedia.cc/stride/default.html (main site) to the left of the video goes the menu. Here is the Menu that is supposed to load http://www.affiliatemedia.cc/stride/Menu.html. the only code i have for it
    stop();
    _root.menuBody.loadMovie("menu.swf");
    _root.body.loadMovie("strideplayer2.swf");
    my menu loader code is this:(code inside a movie clip, which is the txt percentage)
         onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
         loaded = _parent.getBytesLoaded();
         total = _parent.getBytesTotal();
         display = Math.round((loaded/total)*100);
             if (loaded == total)
             _parent.play();
    And that works too(offline). This is in action script 2
    could it be the code inside the accordion. Not sure, i would truly appreciate all your help.
    Thanks for taking the time to read this message!

    Are the swf's in the same server folder as the web page that holds the main swf?
    Based on your code I tried to find...
    http://www.affiliatemedia.cc/stride/menu.swf
    but it is not there.
    Also, in the code you show you use "menu.swf", but in the Menu.html page it is "Menu.swf"

  • Adobe Flash up to date; firefox 9.0.1 installed. Flash does not show as plug in & Firefox states Flash not up to date. What to do

    Under plugins, I get the following message:
    For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version.
    However, I updated to the version Firefox suggested. Flash does not show as a plugin. Plus, after updating, I continue to receive the message:
    Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version.
    Running Windows 7
    Firefox v 9.0.1
    What is wrong?

    The plugin check page only recognizes some common plugins that play media on web pages and not plugins added by security software like McAfee. So no need to worry about that. Just make sure that you keep all your software up to date, especially software that deals with internet access and security software (anti-virus software, firewall).

  • Paid off edge balance but receipt is not showing up online

    I have the paperless billing. I just recently paid off my edge balance so I can get a new phone. I didn't have the original edge phone anymore because I lost it and didn't have insurance, so I could not trade in the phone I have now to edge up again. So I paid off the balance thinking I could get a new phone after that but then I find out I have to wait 30 days! I want to get the payoff receipt so I can switch to tmobile. But my receipt is not showing up online!! what should I do? They took the money out.

    T-Mobile does not pay back EDGE plans and only ETFs.

  • Flash Video not showing on Server

    Hi, wonder if anyone can help on this one. Going round in circles. Not sure why, should be simple enough.
    I have created a Flash Video in Flash 8 and published and picked up in Dreamweaver 8. Published files were sample.swf, sample.html and SteelExternalAll.swf (skin). Publish settings were: Format - Flash SWF and HTML; default Flash settings with local playback security set to access local files only; default HTML settings.
    In Dreamweaver, sample.html is accessed via an iframe in test.php. In Preview mode, everything is as it should be with the Video showing. The problem is, when I upload all the files to the Server, the video is not displayed including the skin. Instead, all I get is the border of the iframe with a red rectangle showing where the video should be.
    Hope someone can help. Pulling my hair out on this one and get the feeling there is a simple explanation.
    Thank you in advance.

    First get the video to play in the web page that you accessing in iframe;
    http://79.170.40.41/booksat.com/videos/elaine.html
    For testing purposes get rid of all that old, outdated Flash detection code and instead just use:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>Elaine</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <object data="elaine.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="400" height="345"><
      param name="movie" value="elaine.swf">
    </object>
    </body>
    </html>
    No skin but you should at least see the video... worry about the skin later....
    But you also need to make sure that you have all the files uploaded, the .swf, the skin .swf and the .flv video file and that they are pathed correctly. Keep in mind that pathing to the Flash assets need to be relative to the Web page that the .swf video player is on, NOT the physical location of the .swf or the .flv file.
    But get the video playing correctly on the elaine.html before you consider putting it in an iframe.
    For a quick review on pathing Flash:
    Pathing issues
    Almost always when it works on the local machine and not the server, it's a pathing problem.
    You can put your Flash related files in whatever folders you want, they do NOT have to be in the root, they do NOT all have to be in the same folder. But if you have a problem and if sticking them all in the root folder works, then you know that the issue was a pathing problem.
    Just remember that paths used in the .swf become relative to the Web page on which the .swf is placed, NOT it’s physical location.  So for example, if your .swf is in the flash/data folder and you use that .swf on a Web page in the root folder, you are in effect, removing that .swf from flash/data and putting it in root. So if the .swf is loading any related files (xml, images, video, etc), the path used inside the .swf to load the .xml file has to be relative to it's new location in root and then back down into flash/data. This is true even though when testing the .swf by itself, it can be inside flash/data and work just fine, since relative to it's location, the path is just fine, they are in the same folder. But if that same path is used when the .swf is placed on a page two folder levels up, the relative path has changed, the old "same folder" path will not work.
    In fact if you are placing the .swf on a web page in a different folder than the .swf is stored in, and that .swf calls external assets, then direct clicking and opening of the .swf in it’s folder should NOT work! That’s because the paths to the external assets should be relative to the Web page and not the physical location of the .swf.
    So just be sure that you use addresses relative to the final Web page locations (not physical file locations) and you can put the Flash related files in what ever folders you want.

  • Flash Controls Not Showing On Web Page

    Hi-
    Been beating my head lately using Flash Pro 8 and DW 8.02.
    Here is the latest difficulty:
    Created a Flash video file in Premiere Elements 4
    Imported the .flv Flash video file into Flash 8 using import
    video
    Added an external skin to the video
    Saved Flash .fla file
    Exported movie in .swf format
    I can open the .swf file in Flash Player 8 and it works fine.
    I can also use the Publish setting in Flash to export the necessary
    files as well as the HTML file. When viewed in either Firefox or IE
    it plays correctly and the player controls are present. However, if
    I create a new page in DW8 and then Insert > Media > Flash,
    point it to the .swf file and then view it in Firefox or IE I can
    only see the .flv Flash video file and none of the controls/skin
    that should be there. I know the controls/skin are actually present
    because I can browse directly to the .swf file and it displays
    works properly. I can also use the publish settings from Flash to
    create the HTML page and it works correctly as well. It is only
    when the page is generated by DW8 that I get this problem. I have
    looked at the code created by DW8 and cannot find any reference to
    the .swf file for the movie controls/skin. Any idea why DW8 would
    only be placing the Flash video .flv file on the page and not
    writing the code to place the entire Flash movie .swf on the page?
    I have tried restarting/rebooting, created a new "clean" test page
    with only the Flash movie on it and it is always the same. The
    other thing that is weird is I did not select Autoplay or Loop in
    the DW8 settings nor in Flash 8, yet when I preview the page
    created by DW8 in a browser, piece of the Flash movie I can see
    (the Flash video part) autoplays and loops!
    Again, any help is appreciated.
    -=SB

    Update- This is what I have discovered while playing around
    with the page and Flash file:
    If I create the .swf files for the movie and skin and then
    save them to the same directory as the .Flash video file and then
    view the .swf file everything works fine.
    If I then create a web page using DW8 and insert the Flash
    into the page and save the web page to the exact same directory as
    all the other files and then view the web page in a browser, it
    works fine. However, if I create a new web page in DW8, save it to
    any other directory other than the one where the .swf and .flv
    files are located and then view the page in a browser only the .flv
    Flash video portion of the movie will display in the browser--the
    controls are missing. However, if I browse directly to the .swf
    file and avoid going through the DW8 generated web page the Flash
    movie displays properly with the controls in the correct location.
    My question then is why will DW8 not show the Flash movie with
    controls if the page is located in higher level directory than the
    .swf and .flv files and yet browsing directly to the .swf file with
    my browser works just fine? I have checked the path to the .swf
    file in the DW8 source code and it is pointing to the correct
    directory location. This is so strange--why will it display one way
    and not the other? Any ideas?

  • CS3 Flash swf not visible on webpage

    Hi,
    I'm working in Dreamweaver and Flash CS3. For some odd
    reason, Flash swf files are not showing up on my webpage. I never
    had this issue with MX2004.
    I uploaded the java script (new in CS3) but it still shows a
    blank area -the swf dimensions - on the page. It previews fine
    locally but not from the server.
    please help.
    Jeff

    Sorry to see your use of the DW pop-up menus with templates.
    You know that
    they are not compatible with them, right? Also, you should
    read this
    (written by the person who adapted that code for Macromedia
    to use) -
    http://www.losingfight.com/blog/2006/08/11/the-sordid-tale-of-mm_menufw_menujs/
    Also, your template doesn't appear to have been properly
    made, since there
    is no editable region around the page <title>, nor is
    there an editable
    region anywhere in the head of the page.
    Finally, when I browse to this location -
    http://www.worldofgranite.net/photogallery.swf
    the Flash file loads, but it doesn't function. This means
    that there is
    something wrong with your Flash file itself, not with the
    page, other than
    the comments above, that is.

  • Flash Elements not showing up

    I apologize if this is a repeated question, but I am so
    frustrated. I was working on an existing website, that was working
    fine until I made a few updates. The updates were made after I
    downloaded and installed the dreamweaver 8.2 update. That's the
    only variation that I can think of. I was simply adding 2 new flash
    elements to the page. One is a slideshow. On one of the pages, the
    buttons were not even showing (which I also embedded with
    dreamweaver, I created them in flash). This site has been up for 6
    months and I have never had a problem making changes for the
    client. I can see the changes when I preview them locally, but when
    the pages are uploaded, the swf's are not showing on the page. If
    anyone can help, I would be forever greatful.

    When you insert Flash into a page using DW 8.2 it now creates
    a
    'scripts' file in your local site folder. You have to upload
    that
    'scripts' folder to your server, otherwise the Flash will not
    work.

  • Flash contente not showing on SOME sites

    I installed version 11.5.502.146 and since then I sometimes get web sites not SHOWING their flash content. I get sound, interactivity but no image.
    What is weird is that it works on other websites / contents.
    Example:
    Not Working:
    http://www.behr.com/Behr/home#
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer.html
    Working
    http://www.adobe.com/swf/software/flash/about/flashAbout_info_small.swf
    http://www.flashgames247.com/play/16065.html
    http://www.gameshot.org/?id=5150

    Could you try installing our 11.6 beta to see if that makes a difference?

  • Pictures not showing up online.

    Some pictures are not showing up for me online.
    For example, when I do a search on photobucket, I just get a ton of little blue boxes with question marks where the pictures should be displayed.
    Help please?

    Fantastic news, and Thank You!
    You had a DNS issue... DNS is where you type in apple.com and it goes to a server and looks it up the number & comes back with Address: 17.254.3.183, which is what the computer really needs to get there.
    This may happen hundreds of times per page.
    Either the DNS servers of your ISP are flaky, (getting more common/frequent), or you never had any, or the ones stored in the Router/Modem weren't getting passed to/used by your Mac, etc.

  • Fullscreen Flash movie not showing up on Mac

    My flash movie is set to 100% width and height and it is
    working fine on my PC on IE 6,7, FF 2, Safari 3, and Opera, but on
    my Mac, the movie will not show up unless I change the 100% values
    to actual height and width values. Does anyone have any thoughts
    here?
    The link is:

    Thanks!

    try adding this in your <head> tags.. change the width
    and height properties to match your documents width and height.
    <style type="text/css">
    #home-content{
    margin: 0 auto;
    width: 1000px;
    height: 800px;
    </style>

  • Flash CS6 not showing in FCP 7.03

    I recently upgraded (well, for me it was an upgrade) to an older  Mac Pro
    Processor  2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory  16 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
    Graphics  ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)
    I have installed FCP 7.03 (and in a seperate folder the hated FCP X)
    I also have Adobe Creative Suite CS6 installed.
    On my previous MacBook Pro I could export from a video sequence as a Flash Movie (.FLV). I could do this using one of the options in "Export Using QuickTime Conversion" On that machine I was running Flash CS4.
    For some reason the Flash export option is not showing now. Flash is properly installed and opens just fine.
    Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks
    A.S.

    "Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?"
    Probably nothing. FCP 7 was last updated in 2010; Flash CS6 was released in 2012. Incompatibility is to be expected.
    There may be a conversion program, but it's most likely you'll find it on Adobe's Flash forum.
    Good luck

  • Flash menu not showing up in IE, but other flash is

    I downloaded a menu from f-source.com (
    http://f-source.com/buy/adobeMenu/
    to be specific) and finished my site up. it works fine in mozilla
    platforms but does not show up at all in IE - i have a feeling it
    is the dreamweaver 8/IE bug but don't know how to fix it other than
    deactivate the active X thing under coding prefs, which i already
    did.
    please view for yourself.
    coh.flowerdust.net
    the menu is flash-based but uses html for customization thru
    dreamweaver.
    thanks!!!!

    figured it out..well, not really..but recoded it and
    it works now. :)
