Flash Audio question
I just downloaded a trial of Flash CS3. I've been using an
education version of MX for quite awhile and thought perhaps the
audio problem I have noticed was unique to MX. However, after
opening the file in CS3, I note that the sound is not clear, and
sounds somewhat muffled. At first I thought it was the file,
created in Goldwave at CD quality. But I checked the file outside
of Flash and it sounded completely clear, just as it does on the
CD. It is only in Flash that the sound is degraded. In the publish
settings of MX, I noted there was "convert stereo to mono" option
that was checked out, but grayed so that I could not change it.
After noting this setting was also in CS3 but active, I unchecked
it to leave the audio at stereo, hoping that would make the
difference. It still sounds muffled. Any ideas out there?
hello kglad
so correct.about not incuding the sync:stream,it plays by its self.but i see various tutorials saying that streaming is for better performance,is that true in your opinion?

Flash audio does not work on HDMI
Hi, I'm trying to make HDMI audio work. So far I've been able to make almost everything work, but Flash is still giving me headaches. I cannot make it play on HDMI, when I open a video on youtube sound comes out from my laptop's speakers. I googled around but I didn't find any useful hint on how to configure Flash audio on HDMI. My system is a Vaio VGN-SR21M laptop with HD3470 and Catalyst 11.8.
Can anyone please help me? Thanks.OK, as usual I found the answer right after opening this thread...
According to post #6 here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions … rd-809773/
Flash outputs only on default alsa device, so if I want HDMI output I have to set my HDMI card as default by putting this in ~/.asoundrc:
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 1
device 3
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 1
device 3
(where card 1 device 3 stands for my HDMI audio card as given by aplay -l) and restart alsa by typing sudo /etc/rc.d/alsa force-restart.
The annoying thing is that now Flash sound will work ONLY on HDMI, so when I disconnect my TV I have to delete or modify .asoundrc, restart alsa and so on... Really there's not a smarter way to tell Flash where to send sound? -
Flash Audio Player in Blog Help Needed
Hello...
I am a Mac user, OS X 10.4.11.
I use Flash Audio Players on my web pages to stream my radio station. I installed the Flash Player on my Blog, but after a month or so it stopped working. I have tried countless versions of the player and varying code, but cannot get it to work.
Note, I host my own Flash Player so visitors don't need to install it. Further, I use a free audio streaming service which requires their ad code be activated on the web page for the audio to stream. (Anytime, the stream server is reset or interrupted the web page must be refreshed to reactivate the audio stream. A bit of a hassle, but you can't beat FREE!) I have installed this code at the bottom of any of my web pages streaming audio and at the bottom of my Blog. And again, initially the Flash Player streamed the audio fine on the Blog.
Here are the web pages to visit to review situation:
Stevo In Yr Stereo Radio "Mind-Altering Music" This is where you can view the source for the code I use to stream audio with the Flash Player.
Nightmare City Halloween Blog This is where the code is no longer working.
I stream audio with the following IP & Port: 87.98.170.118:8424
When the Flash Player HTML Code ask for the "MP3 URL" how might I configure the IP & Port to work on the Blog?
Finally, I do use a redirect URL when necessary via DynDNS.com, but even my redirect URL fails to work in the Blog.
Any insight and assistance regarding this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
StevoIf I'm in the wrong place asking this question can anyone direct me to the proper place to ask where I will encounter someone with a solution? Thank you.

Flash audio player script played MP3 sped-up for only one user
Hello all,
My first post here; I hope this is the right forum for a
general/newbie
Flash question.
I'm using a Flash audio player script that I got here:
http://www.1pixelout.net/code/audio-player-wordpress-plugin/
Here it is on the web page, a few lines down from the top of
the blog post:
http://mojomom.blogspot.com/2008/06/mojo-mom-podcast-momma-zen.html
It's an MP3 of a podcast which has been working fine
everywhere I've tested
it. But we just heard from someone who says that when she
tried it, the
audio was sped up so that "the voices were like chipmunks".
Anyone have any idea what might have caused that?
Thanks very much in advance for any help,

Everytime I want to use skype or itunes or iplayer, I have to log in as the other user, close down all their web browsers, then go back to my account to get it to work, much to the annoyance of the other user.

Is there a way to determine the quality (bitrate) in a flash audio stream? I wanted to know this if I were to record the stream in order to maintain the same quality. Thanks.
I haven't seen any Flash audio players show the stream quality, but that would depend on the player and how it was programmed by its developer. It's not a standard feature of Flash Player (at least not that I know of). If there's no "tool" panel in the player that gives stream specifications, you'll probably need to contact whoever produces/hosts the stream and ask them about the bit rate.
If you have further questions about Flash, you'll probably want to post in Adobe's forums. Flash isn't an Apple product and definitely isn't QuickTime, so this probably isn't the best place to get answers to Flash questions.

How to make simple flash audio player?
I have some mp3 files in Quicktime format that I would like to put on a webpage. Each file, when clicked, come up in a separate page and play.
My question: how can I modify these page with mp3 file so I can add some explanatory text to the page? Right now the site visitor just clicks on the link, a new page comes up and plays the file. But I can't modify what comes up. Nor can I even see Page Source.
If there is a better way to implement my audio files to visitors can play the file and see the explanatory text at the same time, I would appreciate your suggestions.
The specific page which contains the links is: http://www.englishjapaneseonlinedictionary.com/dictionary_my_Japanese_teacher.ht m
If you click on any of the files you will see the problem--I can't modify the page which comes up and plays the audio file
Someone suggested I make a flash audio player to embed in a page. I know nothing about Flash. Can anyone direct me to some resources where I could make a flash player to play my files and that would allow me to add some other textual content to a webpage?
Many thanks in advance,
JaneThe flash add-on is not available for Safari on iOS. Never has been and in fact Adobe has ceased support for flash for mobile devices in general. Your options, depending on the specific sites:
See if the site or sites in question have their own apps availabel in teh app store
Look into some browsers such as Puffin adn iSwifter (there are others, I beleive). These browsers use a third server site to translate the flsh content into a form that the iPAd can use and restreams them to you. They may not work with all content.
Use a computer capable of running flash.
Seek a source of the conent that is designed for non flash use. -
ALL flash audio not working with G930 headset unless audio jack plugged in once and activated
Problem: Inexplicably and sporadically, ALL flash audio is mute in FF when using a wireless G930 headset connected to USB dongle (physically or wireless), but everything plays fine in Chrome and Explorer. I'm here to tell you what worked for the sake of others, and to make the FF team aware of a problem worth their attention.
Statement: Everything is up to date. FF, extensions, Flash, Java, Windows. I uninstalled flash on FF and my machine and reinstalled on both. My headset audio device is correctly activated in WIndows Audio Devices - all other devices are deactivated.
My current solution: I learned from a prior FF issue involving YouTube videos that YT has something called DASH playback, requiring you to plug in an audio cable to your machine, or the video won't play (WTF right?). An extension called "YouTube Center" fixes this by allowing you to turn off DASH playback. After plugging in a set of earphones into my computer's audio jack, I activated the audio device on the machine, and got audio through the earphones and headset. I then disconnected the earphones, and disabled the audio jack. Audio now works fine on the headset, and I've rebooted the machine, turned the audio jack back on, rebooted firefox multiple times to make sure. Currently, things are fine, but I'm reluctant to plug anything back into the jack.
For some strange reason, FF seems to have trouble recognizing my G930 headset as a valid audio device, or that's my guess. The fact that everything is peachy in other browsers should narrow down the culprit.
Hopefully this helps someone else, and we can find out what the core bug is to make things right.
Ask any questions if you have them and I'll try to get back.Very nice work.

Flash audio level drop outs (Windows 8.1)
Hey,
Using adobe flash, I've been having issues with to audio nearly dropping out to nearly inaudible levels on mutiple websites. Anything that does use the flash player, it seems to be triggered when I plug in another device into the computer for use, or charging although it doesn't seem to be 100% consistant and seems less likely after reinitiating the flash player, but would happen after having the flash player open for a longer period of time then attaching a device. My current work around is to either load up a different browser e.g. Google Chrome, which will use it's own plugin container containing another instance of flash. Or to end task on flash from my task manager, then reload the page. which would restore proper audio levels. This does not appear to be specific to one webpage, or to one brower.

Driver: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVSo looking further into things, it seemed to have started happening since I installed Steam. While steams loader was active in the background it would cause the flash audio to drop out. I don't know any reason why it would cause this, but have just disabled steam from starting up at all. Any insight on why these two programs would clash and cause audio issues would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Flash Audio Jukebox in a template
I recently purchased the D.W. Flash Audio Audio with JukeBox extension, it works great & is easy to install & use. But I came across something that hopefully can be answered.
I inserted the Audio player along with JukeBox with 3 songs onto a template that is used on 3 Html pages... In Liveview on the template everything works with sound great. But when the template is applied to the 3 html pages, I can only see the Audio & Jukebox nothing plays and it just sits there streaming ???
Do I need to insert the Flash Audio individually on every Html page ??? I thought a Template apply would carry over all components, I can see the flash player code in the HTML page just like it is in my Template ??? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks PatYou're going about this wrong way.
1) Build an HTML document with ALL the shared page elements (menus, players, headers, footers, etc..)
When you're satisfied that it displays and performs well in all browsers, save this prototype page as a Template (.dwt).
2) Add some editable regions to your template for content that will change from page to page. This must include editable regions in the document <title> and <head> tags, too.
3) Save and close your template.
4) File > New Page from Template. This child page will contain everything your Template page contains. Save as index.html (your default home page). Repeat step 4 to create other site pages.

How do you turn off Flash audio when using captivate Nav bar?
Hi Guys and Girls
I have an imported flash file that plays an audio track,
I have no problem turning the audio off, when the user uses
the button within the flash file to go to the next slide in the
captivate movie...
on(release){
stopAllSounds();
_root.rdcmndNextSlide = 1;
BUT if the user decides to use the navigation bar within the
captivate movie it all goes pair shape.. The flash audio continues
to play into the next slide. Anyone have a know how to solve this
problem?
How do you tell flash to stop playing the audio when using
the captivate navigation bar?
(The flash file is a flip book and the audio NEEDS to stay
within the flash file)
Cheers
Aquil0Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This totally solved my issue. I had a Captivate 4 movie using an embeded animation that had audio. It would play the audio again when the next slide appeared. I have to use Captivate 4, because my audience still uses Flash 7 (yikes). However, if you have Captivate 5 and are having this problem there is a widget that solves this issue: http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2010/11/animations-%E2%80%93-audio-sync-issue.html#commen t-3872
Thanks!

Flash audio not working in Firefox 31.0
Flash audio works in Chromium. Have tried the following with no success:
- Resetting Firefox
- Reinstalling Flash plugin
Thanks for taking your time to help me out.
EDIT:
I noticed in about:plugins a listing for "FutureSplash Player". Perhaps that has something to do with the problem? On Linux Adobe has stopped supporting Flash for Firefox.
There are only security updates of Flash 11.2 available.
If web pages require a more recent Flash version then they won't work with Firefox and you would have to use Google Chrome.
Does this happen with all pages that use the Flash plugin?
Did you check if the player has a volume slider?
You can check for issues with cookies and "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Edit > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can try to clear the Flash local storage and settings.
Abode Flash Player Preferences: Storage

1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
5. Wait for installer to finish loading.

How to get flash audio to play when published to godaddy
I'm trying to move all my iWeb websites to Godaddy, but can't get flash audio to work playing my mp3 on the site. With iDisk it's easy, just install the flash player in there, but how do I get it to my godaddy server and write the iDisk address into the widget code. How do I do it when using godaddy as the new host?
Download the folder of assets for your flash player from iDisk. Get there from the Finder Go menu - iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites.
Drag the folder onto your desktop and then upload it to the server using an FTP app like the freeware Cyberduck or your hosting service's file manager.
Enter the new URLs to the files in snippet code. -
Flash audio - PLEASE HELP!
Dreamweaver has included in its program the best looking
flash players I have seen.
When you go to Insert ---> Media ---> Flash
Video........that's what I am refering to
But this is for adding video to your site using the player
designs provided in Dreamweaver
Is is possible to use this same method and player syles, but
for Audio files instead of video - SWF, MP3, .... any audio files
Please, I really need to add audio to my site
I tried Swish Jukebox but apparently you cannot add the same
player style more than once on the same page (which is strange)
If there is a way to use the Flash Video insert feature for
audio files?
I would greatly appreciate the help please
Any ideas?
Thanks for your timehttp://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/
I found that I had to go outside to get a Flash audio player,
and used the one found at the link above.
See
http://www.tfrog93.com/audio/audio.htm
for the live example, working through Dreamweaver MX2004.
