Flash Builder 4.5 Doesn't Know How To Cast?!

I just upgraded from FB 3 and I am starting to feel very disappointed. Fonts look horrible (antialising-wise) and code which worked perfectly now acts weird. Case in question:
Dirt simple: I got a class called G3Widget with a property named Text.
trace(G3Widget(sender).Text);
This code COMPILES and RUNS successfully. HOWEVER:
1. I get a warning on it: Access of undefined property Text
2. I get no code assist: when I hit the . (dot) after the (sender) I get no code assist with properties of the Widget Class.
What's wrong? I can't believe that FB 4.5 doesn't do what FB3 did.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I get the same stupid error for this code which worked perfectly in FB3:
for (var key: Object in Event_MouseDown_Callbacks) (key as Function)(sender == null ? this : sender, flashEvent, Event_MouseDown_Callbacks[key]);
I get the error for (key as Function). This code is within a Function of mine.
As for my original post, I just re-tested that issue in FB3 and there, when I hit . (dot) after the cast, it CORRECTLY LISTS all the members of the G3Widget Class.
I've looked in the options of Flash Builder 4.5 for an hour trying to see why it behaves like it does. No luck. And it's probably not an option. It's just that, by default, it doesn't list the members of the type after you cast it, which, in my opinion, is a HORRIBLE mistake. I'm going back to FB 3.

  • I downloaded Newest mozilla yesterday, adobe updated, and now when I click a YouTube video I get a box saying "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (rtsp) isn't associated with any program." and can't watch any videos?

    I downloaded the latest version of Mozilla Firefox yesterday, full and complete, and I am actually using it right now. The only problem I have had is upon clicking any YouTube video, the box pops up saying "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (rtsp) isn't associated with any program." But there are no directions or suggestions on how to address this problem. Ive looked at YouTube add-ons and none of them really seem related. Upon the finish of the new Mozilla, I also was prompted to upgrade the flash player, and did so without any trouble. I am only guessing this is an extension/plug-in problem. I really am quite confused!

    I am trying to get to a college webpage for information and get this error message from firefox Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (html) isn't associated with any program.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == whe trying to access webpage

    Is this coming from a link, or from something you are trying to type in the address bar?
    Try replacing the "html" at the start with "http",
    so if you have html://somesite.edu,
    change it to http://somesite.edu.

    We have a new computer and I cannot get my garmin running watch to sync with mozilla. The error message that I keep getting is"The address wasn't understood

    This is for a special URL that starts with
    connectagent://
    instead of with
    http://
    is that right?
    Two thoughts:
    (1) Could you try changing a setting for your Garmin plugin. Here's what I mean:
    Open the Add-ons page using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Plugins.
    Find your Garmin plugin change "Ask to Activate" to "Always Activate".
    Your system information seems to list two different versions of a similarly named plugin. I'm not sure whether that is causing a problem.
    (2) Does Garmin's documentation specify any extra steps to set up Firefox, other than installing its add-ons?

  • HP Protect tool password manager not working with the new version of Mozilla: I got this alert: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (dpql) isn't associated with any program." please help

    I have an HP ProBook 4520s. I have been using HP Protect tool's Password manager to store and manage my passords for all Login websites in Firefox 3.6. As a result, I just swiped my fingerprint to log on to any website.
    After I installed the version 4 of Firefox, my all my login details do not work anymore. I have tried to reset them but I repeatedly get this error: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (dpql) isn't associated with any program."
    something like this would have been passed onto the address: "dpql://c:\program%20files%20(x86)\hewlett-packard\hp%20protecttools%20security%20manager\bin\dpminionlineids.dll/qlinkload.htm#id=2".
    Although the password manager works with Internet Explorer 9, I need it to work with Firefox 4 as this is my preferred browser.
    Please help. Thank you!

    I guess this means that IE is more user friendly for HP Password Manager finger swipe recall of passwords, a favorite of mine. I still don't see a post from Firefox as to why they haven't produced fix. So I'll switch to IE until things change. I don't see value in downgrading to a Firefox version that's no longer going to be supported.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    Protocol error usually indicates that the very leftmost part of the URL is not recognized.
    So http://, ftp://, rtsp://, usually work.
    ableton:// would need to be added by some software somewhere...
    Can you get instructions from the vendor? Does these posts seem relevant:

  • Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (mf)

    whan i try to download anything i got the msg: Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (mf)
    any help pls?

    Does this happen often, or just on one specific link? It sounds like the link on the web page is broken and contains "mf:" instead of "http:".
    If it's a public website, can you post the address of the page containing the link? If not, you could try to report the problem if there is a feedback email address on the web page.

    I purchased a song to download from Walmart.com and received the error message when I tried to download the song; "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (wmms) isn't associated with any program." Does the Walmart site offer a plugin or program (Walmart MP3 Music Downloads) to handle that protocol?<br />

    Looks like you have an application that adds launch: to the command line to start Firefox.
    You can also check the Firefox shortcut to see with what command Firefox is started.

    Fonts are handled by your operating system and installed through the respective System Control panel (Windows) or Fontbook (Mac). On Windows simply type "Fonts" in the search bar in the start menu and when you open the panel/ folder use File --> Add Font. On Mac the procedures are similar, you just need to find the Fontbook app in Applications:Utilities.

    Looks like blocking software to purposely block a page by messing with the url.
