N96 Bugs I've noticed

Generally pleased with my new N96 which replaces my ageing N95 but i have noticed two bugs. I am using a simfree, nokia shop purchased N96 update to SW v11.101.098.1.
BUG 1: I've imported my contacts from my N95 and i cannot set defaults for email addresses or numbers. When the defaults option is selected from the menu in contacts the conacts application immediatley closes and i am returned to the front screen. Defaults for contacts i've created on the N96 can have there defaults set but defaults cannot be set for contacts imported using PC Suite or the phones sync utility. Also, for imported contacts the ringtone is the default nokia tune and not the tone defined in the contact or in my active profile. Again only imported contacts show this glitch with a contact created on the N96 working as expected. The default ringtone issue seems to be a common one on the forum maybe this is a connection.
BUG 2: The phone freezes if you try to resume playback of a video file whilst using a bluetooth headset (in my case a nokia BH-500). With the phone connected to the BH-500 you can play a video file from the start but when promted to continue the latest played file from last position its 'take the battery out time' when the phone locks up.
Any user got any thoughts on these anomolies??

Hello, i have the 11.101 version and I imported all my contacts via PC suite and I CAN use the defaults option and the ringtone can be anything I want (apart for video ringtones-they don't work).

IPhone 5S: Some Bugs I've Noticed

Hello! I got an iPhone 5S for Christmas, I absolutely love the phone. But I've noticed some bugs, so far two. So the first one is an iTunes Radio bug. Sometimes when I open it and click on a station. It will pause for a second, and kick me back to my home screen. It rarely happens but is annoying. Is there a fix for it? Also the second bug. I think it might happen on certain apps but I'm not sure, so far it has happened to me on the "YouTube" app, and one of my games "Hay Day". It's kinda weird, I opened these apps, and both did exactly the same both times. I tried closing out of them by the home button, and I tried locking my phone. And neither of these actions responded. I even tried turning off my phone. But still no response.
So after a minute or two it reboots to the lock screen. It's very annoying also. Is there a way to fix this as well? These are the only problems I've had with the phone so far. And I sorta want them fixed!

OSX LION BUGS I HAVE NOTICED

Hi everybody!
Since Lion is out for some time already and all upgrades so far did not fix any of the bugs I am having I decided to make a list of things that are REALLY bothering me.
1.) QUICKLOOK -> when viewing a PDF and pressing the full screen button, the document is alligned vertically. It is impossible to see anything on my MacBook pro 13'' !!! Please let the user choose which way the PDF is going to stretch or just put back horizontal stretch as it was in OSX Snow Leopard.
2.) APP SWITCHER -> Ok this is really messed up.
First, if you cannot put the four finger swipe back then atleast please make a shortcut to just open the app switcher. CMD+TAB doesn't do the job. If pressed and not released it goes all the way to the last app in the switcher which is really annoying.
Second, this is a bit hard to explain. But none the less I will try.
I have some apps that are visible on all spaces. So, when using CMD+TAB to switch from an app open in space 1 to another app open in space 2, the app i switched to is behind all the apps that are assigned to all spaces. This is completely random. Sometimes it works as it should, other times there is a bunch of windows on top of the app that is active.
3.) GAP between spaces in mission control. PLEASE remove it!!!! If you have a fullscreen movie running on monitor 1, and that movie is assigned to all spaces, there is a flickering when switching between spaces. Also, there is some strange fade in effect for icons and windows when switching from space to space. PLEASE REMOVE IT. Its useless and lots of times it fails to fade the open windows or icons so you have to switch to that space once again just to meke it work.
Please Apple take a look at this. And PLEASE fix it!!!

A few bugs I've noticed and a suggestion

I know that this is probably the wrong area to post this, but being that it's kind of a generalized post and covered a few different topics, I figured I would just post it here.
Has anyone noticed that while using Safari, their iPhone 3G will suddenly just pop them back out to the main menu for no apparent reason? It does this with many of the applications that access the web as well, such as the AIM App.
A couple of things I would like to see in the near future; A mIRC style Internet Relay Chat app, and an app that makes the look/theme of the interface a little more easily customizable. I have seen the latter available outside of Apple's app store, so I'm a little leary of spending the money to download it and install it on my phone.

As far as programs always going back to home screen, try the following.
1. Reboot the iPhone - Hold down the home button & sleep/Wake button till you see a silver apple logo. Then let go.
Now test the Apps
2. If needed Un-sync the apps and then re-sync them to the iPhone see if it works after that
3. If needed you can force quit out of an app all together. When using the App hold down the home button and do not let go till you see it flash back to main screen. Now the program should be closed all the way down.
4. If needed restore iPhone - Please backup all data before restoring as a restore will erase all data.

Click on the button "Reset sort preferences" and then sort any of columns on this page - you will get exception:

Unfortunately this error is not always reproducible - but it happens very often.
You need 2 report regions on one page with “sortable” columns. When you sort column in the second region - first throws exception.
I also noticed that this error happens when none of the fields on the first report region are sorted.
This is a very old bug - I first noticed in HTML DB 1.6.
I also have a print screen and trace file and from my local machine when this bug happened.
I couldn't find anything interesting in it.

have you set the "Sort Sequence" for all your sortable columns? That was most time the cause in the past why the error was raised.
But anyway it should be fixed in some way, because it's a quite annoying bug to find the cause of the error.

E51 Bug [low] - *#0000# and *#06# don't work

Severity: low
Software: 200.34.36 / 24-04-2008 / RM-244
After I noticed that the vibra didn't go on incoming SMS and emails, I power cycled my E51. After that I wanted to write a bug report and noticed that neither *#0000# nor *#06# worked. Both just created a beep but nothing was displayed.
Switching the phone off, taking the battery out for 30secs. and switching it on again, solved the problem.

You get on the screen with the (Bday) notification.
After that you can't close the screen with the CLOSE button below right anymore.

10.4.3 Update breaks Javascript (regression bug)

The latest update for the OS causes a regression bug in javascript. This is a bug that I noticed recently in the webkit (just started to do my own builds)... and should be (IMHO) be considered a show-stopper.

I have not yet tried to pinpoint where the broken methods are.... but you will notice that there are a lot of [[foobar]] phrases on the site... where the browser should instead be parsing out translated variables.

Hi Robert, I've got a iMac G5 2.1G, 1.5GB 500GB HD you didn't say what your set-up is? Unless it's your PB, you have to buy Tiger then update from their.
If you already did this then all I can say is that I just updated to 10.4.3 today &
everything is working fine! Mail & bookmarks are sync'd properly (iSyn it's self doesn't work) I also just checked Software-Update it works fine.
Your Update is it the standalone or Combo? Try opening Software Update to see if asks you to download any Java updates. I'm sure that someone with more experience will help you on this soon. I can't, have you tried downloading from Safari rather via SU.

Calendar Bug Report

First of all, I love my Pre! Thanks Palm. You guys are doing awesome. Just wanted to post a couple bugs I've noticed in the Calendar app when syncing with Google Calendar. Nothing huge, but still bugs:
(1) It appears that the phone sometimes misunderstands repeat settings on Google Calendar. When deleting a single event from a repeat on either the site or the phone, the change sometimes never syncs. "Delete all future occurrances" on the site is frequently not noticed by the phone. Wish I knew more about why this one happens so I could be more helpful!
(2) When traveling to any time zone west of your home location, the Pre begins displaying "All Day" events one day earlier than they actually occur. Perhaps the app uses the start time to select the day to display on?

Similar issue on a 3GS with iOS5. I found that this issue was related to an Exchange event that had been cancelled. Removing the event stabilized the notifications screen. Waiting to see if it improves the abominable battery life - I am recharging twice a day.

Itunes bug with MSN notification sounds

just thought i would report this, considering the fourms is the only way i know of reporting bugs. but i noticed a problem with itunes7 . whenever i recive a notification sound from Windows Live Messanger and im playing music on my itunes, my music skips. the only thing i can do is turn off all notification sounds on msn so itunes playback doesnt skip.
off topic question... how do i change my display name for the fourms? (I really have no idea where to post this question)

This is a non fixable problem. I pretty much know it can't be fixed by user intervention.
The problem lies when something other than iTunes tries to use your soundcard. Soundevents in Windows, games you're playing while using iTunes, anything having to do with the soundcard.
The only way you can bypass this is if you disable sound events or any other sound card use when using iTunes. Basically making sure that iTunes is the only application using the sound card.
We definitely need a fix. Fast.

Bug report: Quicktime Audio recording with multichannel interfaces

I have problems recording audio in Quicktime using a multichannel audio interface. I tried two firewire interfaces, an Apogee Ensemble and the RME Fireface. Both are supported by core audio and work as expected with any audio sequencer such as Garage band, Logic, Studio One etc. However, both show the same strange behavior in Quicktime 10.2 and as well in iMovie and FCPx:
First, i selected interface channels 1 / 2 in the audio-midi-settings window as the stereo input source. In the quicktime audio recording window, I select the audio interface (fireface or ensemble) as the audio source. I expected that the recorded audio would be stereo. However, regardless of these settings, the recording is always mono. Actually quicktime records only channel 1 and ignores all other channels. This might be a bug in Quicktime with regard to the handling of multichannel interfaces. The same bug occurs in Final Cut Pro X and iMovie, which seem to use the same audio engine as Quicktime. However, Garage band and Logic do not show the problem.
It does also not seem to occur with simple stereo interfaces. I tried a Logitech C920 webcam with a built-in stereo microphone and a Zoom Q2HD recorder used in stereo USB microphone mode. In both cases, the recordings in FCPx are 2 channel stereo as it should be. Thus the problem is specific for multichannel interfaces.
Can anybody reproduce or explain this behaviour?
I am using OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), MacBook Pro 15 Retina 2.3 GHz.

It seems that apple has reacted to this bug report without notice. Recently I tried it once more with quicktime and an apogee ensemble interface. Surprisingly, the problem did not occur anymore. I have not tested it with iMovie and FCPX yet.
The sad side of Apples support strategy is that I spent time and money searching for a workaround without knowing that Apple had removed the bug in the meantime.

Delete amd kernel extension to fix discret card bug

Hi there,
I would like to know if there is any risk to delete amd kernel extension on my mac (early 2011 MBP 15") in order to fix this discrete card bug. I notice as soon as my mac is using the amd card, my mac reboot with red line and I have to wait until... I don't know, it's really random. I use gfxCardStatus to force the use of the integrated card only.
I use my mac only for Xcode essentially and Safari so I don't really need the amd card. But I don't know what's the risk if I delete those amd kernel extension.
I can let a retail store fix my mac but it will take 2 weeks and 2 weeks without working is not good, I don't have a lot of money and 2 weeks without work gonna be hard :/

Will there ever be a resolution to ios 7 BUGS!!!!

Still can't go back after I compose a message to correct flagged mispelled words because the red underline will dissapear as soon as you continue typing.
And now a bug I've noticed quite often, if I go to send feedback through an app on my phone, and it opens up the ios email program....I'll be typing a message out in landscape mode, and my texts will disappear about 3/4 the way across the screen! It's still typing words, but I just can't see anything!
And I've tried all the resets, and even reloaded my phone from the scratch.....a process that took a ton of time and frustration, and yet still did not solve any of my problems.

As you're already familiar with LaTeX:
Try "LaTeXit!".
It's freeware and does a pretty good job.
(Especially, when you assign a shortcut, that processes the selected text through "LaTeXit!").
However:
Be aware, that you won't get numbering of equations as you are used to from LaTeX.
Another problem is, that the equation will be embedded into your document as a pdf - hence it's not editable.
In the first to versions of iWork, there was a possibility to bypass this by using "LinkBack" - at least in Keynote (you have to install a plugin to do that - I don't have any clue, if it's compatible with the new Keynote as well).

More bugs in iOS 8.0.2

I'm using an iPhone 5 and iOS 8.0.2.
There are several bugs I've noticed and are Apple are really beginning to frustrate me.
Notification banners get stuck. I try to do the swipe up to dismiss, but nothing happens. Only pressing the home button will solve it. Also when I receive iMessages and view the thread, when I go back to the home screen the notifications are still there!! And it's showing as if the messages haven't been read.
Secondly, can anyone explain the function of Do Not Disturb on message threads? It's pointless still having the screen light up if it's supposed to be in a do not disturb state? Apple please fix this.
I also noticed that when creating to do lists and using location services, if you select a location it won't allow you to re-select another.
