Flash Builder 4.5, Parsley 2.4 and profiling crashing

Hi,
I have been having a lot of grief with FB 4.5 profiler failing on a socket connection where I am profiling an app that uses Parsley 2.4. Initially I thought the problem was related to some characterisitic of the application and/or the machine I am profiling from. However, I can across a bug opened on the Parsley 2.4 core.

Is the finger pointing at FB 4.5 accurate? If so, is there a fix available or planned?

Well, sort of. Flash Builder profiler will fail if there are too many objects to profile. Adding Parsley puts a load on the profiler, but so can any framework or tons of code.
IMHO, if FlashBuilder is failing (and you’ve tried to give it as much memory as you can) it is actually a sign that your app needs re-factoring so there aren’t as many objects around at any given time.

Flash Builder 4.6 Mobile Application Packaging and Exporting

Hello Everyone,
I'm novice to Flash builder,using Flash Builder 4.6 to develop android application.
It runs in desktop no error occur. But when I export it or try to run it on my
SAMSUNG GALAXY Y S5360 phone it doesn't run. It's Android version is 2.3.6
I plugged the USB with pc and tried to run on app on my phone.
First builder ask that Do you want to install ADOBE AIR to device I select the "YES" option then after it go for 57% and show me an error
Error occurred while installing the applicaiton: pkg:/data/local/tmp/Runtime.apk Failure[INSTALL_FAILED_CPU_ABI_INCOMPATIBLE] 3261 KB/s (8653085 bytes in 2.333s)
And when I Export and Release Build for .apk file.I select the Captive Runtime.
Then it shows a message
The package(s) were successfully created but the application could not be installed on one or more devices: Device ID 0123456789ABCDEF(Google Android): Problem Occurred while installing ADOBE AIR.
Please guide me...

After searching on internet and have hands on this problem, finally found the solution.
SAMSUNG Galaxy Y S5360 has CPU 830 MHz ARMv6 and minimum requirement of minimum system requirements for AIR 3.3 Beta on Android :
CPU: ARMv7 processor with Vector FPU, Minimum 550MHz, OpenGL ES2.0, H.264 & AAC H/W Decoders OS: Android 2.2, 2.3, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 & 4.0 RAM: 256MB RAM
Later I used a Motorola mobile handset with higher version my .apk file worked well.

Flash Builder 4 super slow when Workspace and Project is on Network Drive

Hi I was wondering if maybe it is not common practice to create a workspace and project in a Network Drive? When I do this Flash Builder runs extremely slow ( build workspace slow, saving slow, code hinting slow, undo slow, etc, etc, etc). Very painful!
When I place the same project locally on my C drive everything runs fine. So should I not be running things off the network? I would really like to since all my files are on the network with backup system. Can anyone offer some advice? Or maybe I need to optimize something? Thanks

Hi.
Having your workspace and project on a network drive is not recommended as Flash Builder writes and reads a lot from the workspace and that will be slow.
A version control system such as svn or git with a repository hosted on your network drive should be perfectly fine. (You only take the hit when you check in and check out)

Flash Builder 4 beta 2, Managed objects and IUID

Hey Everyone,
I just installed Flash Builder 4 beta 2, I am getting compiler errors now on my managed data service classes that implement IUID:

public class Foo implements IUID {
private var uid:String;

this.uid=value;
The compile error is on the above setter and says: [Managed] requires 'uid' to be of type 'String' , not sure what I am doing wrong here, and this was working on beta 1, any ideas?

Did you try a full clean and build? Also try a new test app to reduce the number of possibilities.

Flash Builder 4.6 mobile connetion oracle and php

Hi everyone im new in flash builder and as far i know Flash Builder 4.6 gives you the option to create sample PHP code, but only gives an option for a MySQL database. Does anyone have some PHP sample code for using Oracle? I try few proyect and they work perfect but i dont know how to do it for oracle

Cloud thinks I have Flash builder installed, so i cant download and install it

I have a new pc, with my old network profile.
I need to use flash builder, but cloud thinks I have it installed.
As a result I cant download it or install it.
Under apps in Cloud controll panel it informs me that Flash builder premium is up to date

CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when they are not

CS5.5 Flash Builder will not open after unistallation and reinstallation

10.8 up to date...
I have been fighting with CS5.5 on 10.8 since august 8th! Adobe helped somewhat, by helping me assure permissions were correctly set on their files. However, when i go back into the get info window , once in a while instead of seeing one of the admin users (myself and my husband) listed, I see a "fetching" in the user name colum. it just keeps searching and never stops. I have to delete the fecting and manually add our admin accounts to the permissions list. Also, in my user home folder the applications file is empty, but I can access all the apps from the HD or doc/apps alias. Is this a new thing for 10.8?
So I am down to this..., only Flash Buidler 4.5 will not open. I think it has somethings to do with the extensions. The software is up to date. Flash reinstalled, unistalled FB 4.5 and reinstalled from disk. Deleted and re-downloaded/ installed eclipse app. Niether of the original app disks have the extensions forder on it. I went to the Adobe sight and dowloaded their version of the extras (Flex builder extension, i think .)

OS X has two Applications: one in your user folder and the other at the top of the volume. Applications are installed in /Applications, and you should use the user folder for applications that you are going to open in your account only, and not in another one.

Flash Builder (4.5.1) iOS on-device debug crash

Hi all,
I've got a Flex app that I'm building for an iPAD and I can debug it on the simulator and on the iPad device (if I select 'fast' packaging method).
The problem is when I want to debug on the device using the "Standard" option for packaging (which takes several minutes) or try to do an export release for the iPad, the application starts up and immidiately terminates after the splash screen.
Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

I finally managed to resolve this issue. It was due to an xml file that wasn't included in the "package contents" in the "export release build" window.
Imagine you have an "assets" folder in your project where you keep xml files, images, sounds etc. Sometimes the compiler doesn't actually pick up references in the code for these assets especially if you're referencing a file like:
var configFileLocation:String = "assets/xml/config.xml";
The compiler won't pick up the fact that it needs this file so it doesn't include it in the final release. In the release window, just check the "package contents" window to ensure all the necessary files are there. If you notice that they're there but unchecked (there's a tick box), then you can simply tick the checkbox.
Other times you don't even see the asset/file in that window. I read a nice hack to get around this issue. You simply click "back" on the "export release build" window, then go to Windows Explorer (or Finder in Mac) and find the "bin-release-temp" directory. You can copy all the necessary files/assets in there manually. After copying, just go back to the "export release build" window and click "next", you will then be able to see all the files you added in the "package contents". This way you can ensure that your application gets packaged with all the necessary external files.
Phew! I'm so relieved that I found the problem tho.. Thanks for your suggestions as well. I will keep those in mind.

Problem Flash Builder and Blazeds

I'm trying to create a project in flash builder 4.

I am still in doubt of how to do that with Blazeds connect with my J2EE application.
When I click "Connect to Data / Service" in the Data / Services window. Does not present anything.

Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP and ANT

I just installed Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP Premium and I am trying to install ANT so I can automate the AsDoc generation process.
In the past (Flash Builder 4), I just point to "http://download.eclipse.org/releases/galileo/" and select "Eclipse Java Development Tools".
However, when I do the same in " Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP Premium", I got an error message saying that a newer version of "Eclipse Java Development Tools" has already been installed. I go to the "Already Installed Software" tab, and indeed I see "Eclipse Java Development Tools" under "Eclipse Java IDE", but ANT is nowhere to be found.
By the way, I am doing everything on the stock, standalone Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP Premium.
Any suggestion is much appreciated.

I was just wondering if you could help me with a problem i'm having. I'm using adobe flash builder 4 to create an application and i have it connected to a php database to populate the data grids. I have three data grids, which are drag enabled and they will be populated from the database. I then have a fourth data grid, which is used to store the data dragged from the other three.
What i want to do is take the data that is dragged into the fourth grid and store it in an array in a php file. Is this possible?

Flash builder 4 and "Burrito" is the same app?

I recently bought CS5 Master, and im now digging into android development.
I was about to start this tutorial: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/employee-directory-android-flex.html
But I don't have "Flex Mobile Project" in my "Flash builder 4" program!!?
So I do some research on burrito and thinking to myself that it might be something else than flash builder 4, kind of like photoshop and lightrom.
But when I download "burrito" it says installing "Flash builder".
What is going on?
Why can't I just create a "Flex Mobile Project" from my Flash Builder 4?
Do I have to install something into my Flash builder 4 maybe? perhaps a Android SDK extension? How do I do that?
I hope someone can help me on this subject, as I find the documentation somewhat unclear.

Flex Mobile project is only available with Flash Builder Burrito (which is a preview release of the version after Flash Builder 4) available at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashbuilder_burrito/
Flash Builder 4 does not support mobile projects.

Adobe Flash Builder availability, usability and application export for students?

I'm a student from Estonia and i'm making my final paper for my graduation.
What chances or possibilities do i have, if i want to acquire Flash Builder, make an application, export it and use it for my final paper (code tutorials in Estonian language) for free?

Well, Adobe did have a program that gave free Flash Builder to students & teachers, but apparently it has been discontinued - sorry!
The 30-day trial versions of Flash Builder and all other CS6 and Creative Cloud tools are still available though, if that helps.
Adobe is also currently offering free copies of Edge Animate 1.0 for everyone (permanent versions for creating interactive & animated web content), which could serve as a nice replacement.

How to get Flash Builder problems tab (warnings and errors) in english

Hi,
my Flash Builder installation is showing the warnings and errors in Finnish. I get the idea behind this and the reason is good, as I'm native speaker of the language. Nevertheless it has some drawbacks when trying to resolve the issue by googling the error because Finnish is pretty marginal language and almost every Finnish Flex developer writes his/her posts in English. So either I have to try to guess the problems correct translation in English, which can be hopeless, or try to google it in Finnish which, as said, returns about zero results.
That said, I'm wondering if it's possible to change the warnings and problems in English? Do I need to reinstall Flash Builder to accomplish this?

Unfortunately I already tried that with no success. The strange thing is, that in my Flash Builder plugin directory in eclipse.ini the language was already declared as follows:
-nl
en_US
Didn't even touch that, it was there before and still my errors and warnings were (and still stay) in Finnish (everything else in Eclipse is in English).
Any thoughts?

Flash Builder 4 and Flash Player Version

Is any particular version of Flash Player required to run what's generated by Flash Builder 4? I've tried to find the answer but haven't turned up anything after an hour of searching...
I'm trying to decide whether to buy Flex 3 or Flash Builder 4 to use at work and I don't control what version of Flash Player my organization uses.

Thanks. But my customers won't necessarily have the latest version of Flash Player. In fact, it's likely they'll be behind and they do not have the option of downloading the latest version - that's strictly controlled. So if I deploy something built with Flash Builder 4, will my customers be able to see it with Flash Player 10 (It looks like the latest and greatest is Flash Player 10.1)?
