Flash CC Locale

I opened an existing CS6 project in Flash CC and I am getting errors around Localization.  I am also unable to find the Strings panel but the error is basically 'Access to undefined property 'Locale' when I use the statement:
mystr=Locale.loadString("IDS_TEST");
Not sure what changed to cause this, any thoughts?

  • Adobe Flash FAIL:  Adobe Flash Player local storage settings incorrect.  Module 'Resume' feature may not work on this computer.

    Using a Windows 2012 RDS Environment, we have users connecting to a CPD website, and as part of the CPD they need to run a systems checker.  When they run the systems checker they get the following error message: "Adobe Flash FAIL:  Adobe Flash Player local storage settings incorrect.  Module 'Resume' feature may not work on this computer". All users are connecting to this environment with Windows CE Clients,I have checked the setting on Adobe Flash and they seem correct but as each user has its own profile on the RDS session, is there something that I should be setting for each user. I have added the website to the trusted sites and it has made no difference.   Any ideas

    It sounds like what's happening is that Flash Player can't write or read from the local shared objects in the user's redirected home directory because we disallow traversing junctions in the broker process.  This behavior was disabled to address a vulnerability identified in some of John Forshaw's research into the IE broker last year.
    You can enable this behavior by adding the following setting to mms.cfg:
    EnableInsecureJunctionBehavior=1
    That said, you can probably gather from the name of the flag that we don't really recommend this approach, and disable this attack surface by default.  There's some risk that a network attacker could craft content that abuses fundamental issues with how Windows handles Junctions to write to arbitrary locations.
    Unfortunately, there's not a simple or easy workaround that I'm aware of (but it's been ages since I've administered a Windows domain) for this kind of NAS/SAN-backed terminal server environment where Flash is not able to access \Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\ without traversing a junction.

  • Oral exam - Flash CS4 - Local/global variables?

    Hi!
    In two days, i have an Oral exam in flash programming, with CS4.
    we've been given a problem to solve, and i naturally am having problems solving it!
    This is the problem
    You are suppost to make a calculator. The calculator should be able to show how much time a person uses
    when he/she climbs a mountain when hiking. Time is counted in minutes, and the height is the mountain-height.
    a) I should be able to calculate, and show how many heightmeters one walks per minute.
    example:
    Height: 1440 meters
    time: 360 minutes
    1440/360 = 4 Heightmeters per minute.
    4 * 60 = 240 heightmeters per hour
    So, i pretty much figured this out.
    iHeight, iTime and iHeightmeters, and iHeightmeters2(for the hour one).
    My problem shows itsself when i get to b.
    b) animation: Show a person that walks from the bottom, to the top of the mountain, in this application(basically the stage, with the calculator on the right side or something along those lines)
    I animated, and i was able to give my "guy" some speed in x and y direction, so that he walks up to the top of the mountain.
    c) Let the speed from a, decide the speed the person walking up the mountain has.
    So what i'm suppost to do is:
    mcWalkingman.x += iHeightmeters;
    mcWalkingman.y += iHeightmeters;
    Theese values have to recide in a function for themselfs, a function only containing speed variables and such. While the "iHeightmeters" recide in the first function where the calculator is. How do i get whatever value iHeightmeters turns out to be, into the next function or another function at all, when the variables are local?
    I hope you understand my problem, and that someone is able to help me.

    If i got you right you want to share a variable between differnet functions ?
    You need to specify it globally and not within the function. If you are programming it just in the Flash IDE, it would be something like
    var iHeightmeters:int = 123456;
    testFunction();
    function testFunction():void
        trace("iHeightmeters = " + iHeightmeters);
    If you do this within a class, it should be
    private var iHeightmeters:int = 123456;
    testFunction();
    private function testFunction():void
         trace("iHeightmeters = " + iHeightmeters);

  • Dream Weaver CS 5.5 not showing Flash/Vimeo/JW player and other Flash content local

    Hi,
    I have just installed WebPremium CS 5.5 and when I look locally through XAMPP at a web site in any browser, no Vimeo/JW players or Flash content
    are showed. Flash is installed!!! The rest of the site is visible.
    Only in "Live View" I can see everything as normal in dream weaver CS 5.5, but not in any browser.
    When I look at the same site local  in DW CS4 all looks fine.
    Have no clue how this is possible. All suggestions are much very appreciated!!
    Thanks! David

  • Flash and local based Search

    Hi Community,
    We have to build search functionality that can easily adapt
    from a CD-based local search system to a web-based, server driven
    search system. Any pointers on the best approach? What options are
    out there for building local search in Flash? Is it just Flash/XML
    and text files or are there special add on/components I need?
    Thanks!

  • Flash cs6 - local store for android app

    How can I local store something (like a highscore) with my android app ? (written with flash cs6) ?
    SharedObjects doesn't really work...

    Hi,
    thx for your answer!
    I tried it with this code:
    var sharedObject:SharedObject;
    sharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal('trtrtrtrtrtr');
    sharedObject.data.userName = "msmsmsmsmsmsmsm";
    sharedObject.data.age = 24;
    sharedObject.flush();
    After starting this app... i tried to find the file "trtrtrtrtrtr" on the tablet.
    But I didn't find it...
    Is it my mistake?
    Thank you!

  • Dreamweaver CS5 suddenly not loading my flash bits locally..

    I am sure this is a setting tweak that either I messed up or ... no I must have messed it up but...
    Suddenly when I go to edit XML pages it won't display the flash properly in Live View.  Initally it was giving me the Adobe Flash Security Alert,
    Loads fine on the site servers but now won't load locally.  Holds true with all XML sites.
    Suggestions?

    Do a clean re-install. Export your site definition settings and backup your preferences before you run this utility.

  • Flash appears locally but not online

    I've got a test document here:
    http://www.atlas-inspection.com/newsite/template.html
    There is supposed to be a flash animation in the center top
    banner area. It works great on my local computer and the file IS
    there on the remote server (
    http://www.atlas-inspection.com/newsite/flash/atlas.swf)
    but it's just blank for me and I can't figure out why.
    Help?
    Thanks!

    I solved my problem. Please consider this closed.

  • Security issues for Flash cookies, Local Shared Objects, .sol files

    Good day, all
    I just found out a bit about flash cookies from Wikipedia and http://epic.org/privacy/cookies/flash.html
    I was wondering if there was a security issue with these (as opposed to privacy issues)?
    It seems easy enough to prevent them being stored or delete them after they are set.
    Thanks,
    Hugh

    Hello Patricia,
    You wrote,
    I came to this forum to see if I could find out how to delete adobe's flash cookies
    You have to do it online via this website.
    Macromedia's Website Storage Settings panel
    Note: As the site says, the dialogue box is not an image, "it is the actual settings manager"
    I just tried it out and deleted the flash content from How Stuff Works, then revisited the site (How Stuff Works) and it didn't add it back, so it seems to work as stated.

  • Flash works locally, but not online!...

    I put a .SWF on a blank web page. It launches and plays fine
    locally if I launch the page from my hard drive, but online I just
    get a blank white page. Here's the link:
    http://al-i.anixter.com/TEMP/flashTemplate/index.html
    Any ideas?! Thanks!...

    Just realized if you right-click on the page and click
    "forward", it advances and works. I'd think it was something in the
    preloader code, but maybe not, because if the preloader was messed
    up, then I'd think it wouldn't work locally either, right?...
    UPDATED:
    Nevermind - figured it out! Stupid coding error in the
    preloader!!!

  • Flash has stopped a potentially unsafe operation (all files are local)

    We trying to run a small flash movie locally from a local html with some javascripts to communicate to and from the flash movie and it worked fine
    however sometime late last year we started seing this message pop up. So it must been some changes in flash and/or in the browsers.
    Running IE9 in compaility mode allows the flashmovie to work correctly.
    Now we want this to work on Mac as well and I can't get Safari to avoid this.
    Main problem is that for whatever reason Flash thinks the local html file is internet-enabled. The error box is not saying a link to an internet site, just like this:
    Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.
    The following local application on your computer or network:
    C:\location\file.swf
    is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:
    C:\location\file.html
    Why can't we no longer run flash movies locally like this. There is no interaction with internet in any of the files.
    How do we fix it, having the users add the directory in Trusted locations in Flash Global Settings is not a good way.

    either adjust your security settings:  http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l
    or, test online.

  • Adding multiple locales to TwitterTrends mobile sample - not working

    Hi All,
    I have been having trouble adding support for muliple locales in my application so I desided to try it out with TwitterTrends sample application. Should be easy, but not working for me...
    What I did:
    1. Add locale folder under assets with an en_US sub folder
              src/assets/locale/en_US
    2. Create a properties file for en_US and save to src/assets/locale/en_US
         src/assets/locale/en_US/twittertrends.properties
    3. Add a single resource key for the home view in 'twittertrends.properties'
         views.home.title=Twitter Trends
    4. Update the TwitterTrendsHome.mxml to use fetch the title from the properties file
         title="{resourceManager.getString( 'twittertrends', 'views.home.title' )}"
    5. Add the locale folder to the applications source path, I did this by modifying the additional compilter args for Flash Builder:
         -locale en_US -source-path=assets/locale/{locale}
    Result:
    No title is displayed..
    I am not sure what I did wrong. Any help is much appreciated.
    Has anyone else seen/not seen this issue?
    Cheers,
    Greg

    Try adding
    <fx:Metadata>
        [ResourceBundle("twittertrends")
    </fx:Metadata>
    The problem is that the compiler isn't smart enough to tell that you're using the 'twittertrends' resource bundle unless you tell it so via [ResourceBundle] metadata. It doesn't try to analyze the ActionScript code inside of databinding expressions to determine what parameters you are passing to ResourceManager functions, etc.
    If instead of databinding you use the @Resource() compiler directive, as in
    title="@Resource('twittertrends', 'views.home.title')"
    then it should be able to figure this out without the [ResourceBundle] metadata. But this way of doing it doesn't support switching the locale at runtime.

  • Auto-update of 2120 startup application using compact flash

    Just getting started with a 2120, but have one "tricky" question.  I want to have my executable run off the controller's memory, not the compact flash; however I also want the executable to check for software updates on a compact flash card.  In other words, if there is a compact flash card present when the app (controller) starts, and the executable on it appears correct (size, name check), then copy the file to that controller's startup folder to replace the existing app...  The executable would bypass normal operation at that point, provide LED feedback to alert the user to reset the controller (& remove card), and "voilà"!  We have an almost automatic compact-flash updatable, self-starting application...
    Question(s):
    - do I need to worry about whether I'm building the app to the controller's memory, to compact flash, or locally (to later copy onto compact flash)?
    - are there any issues with having a program copy an update over itself in this way (different types of memory, when used, etc...)? Alternative would be to have a 2-stage app: 1 checks for update, launches the 2nd if no update (single app would be cleaner)
    - am I missing anything else?
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Hi!
      If I understand correctly... You can do following steps:
       - you develop your application for cFP2120, and download it to cFP's C: disk, then you can copy it to a compact flash. I am referring to a "developing" cFP2120.
       - in field, you have another cFP2120, running an application that you created before, and you insert compact flash with new exe.  You reboot controller.
       - the resident application checks for updates, and find it on CF card.  This boot application copies executable from CF to C: disk, (maybe better if you use .par extentions until opy does not finish!).
       - You manually (or programmatically) reboot controller with new application.
       This was my idea, but, because of customer doesn't asked me to proceed in implementing it, so I stopped, but I'm always interested in knowing if this can work.
       Some problems with this may be the coerence of libraries.....  Please, if you find this way succesful, let me know....
       Another possible solution is to use the "open VI reference" method, but I am not used with it.....
       Hope I wasn't too confusing
