Flash Chart Error

Hi
Can anyone assit with this ...
I get following error when using a 2 series 2d line chart with animation set to scale, in apex 3:
"A Script in this movie is causing adobe flash player to run slowly. If it continues, your computer may become unresponsive."
When I accept to debug, it breaks on this parameter as an undefined error:
__flash__addCallback(c2741428313213918, "SetXMLText");
Thanks
Kezie

Hi
I upgraded my browser flash from v8 to v9 and tested again. The flash upgrade did not resolve the issues as the error still occurs.
I did looked on the adobe site and found this link which sheds some light on why the error might occur: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15512&sliceId=1
I am not loading a large amount of data or displaying too many data points however, so I'm not sure about why I get this error.
Any other pointers would be appreciated.
I have pasted the XML below ...
Thanks
Kez

  • Flash chart - Error - No chart data available

    Hi
    I have a Flash chart that shows the message "Error - No chart data available" (not the no data found message).
    If I run its query in sql*plus (using the same parameters) I get 4 rows (with url, label and value columns). I am clueless about how to start investigating this as the chart does not show any other information... Any advice?
    What does that message mean? Obviously is something different from no data found?
    Thanks
    Luis

    Hi Marco
    Thanks for the reply. I did what you said and found out the problem:
    chart Flash Chart error: ORA-20001: get_data error: ORA-20001: Fetch error: ORA-01843: not a valid monthThis was caused because I used the following construction:
    where date_from = :p5_date_fromIf this was a report, this would run fine as I set the date format mask using a application level process. However, as Flash charts use separate database connections, they ignore that setting (btw I posted a message about this problem).
    I fixed it hardcoding a format mask in my SQL. Not nice but it works!
    Thanks
    Luis

  • Asynchronous update of Flash chart error in IE

    Hi gurus,
    I had a post a while ago about an update command for a flash chart:
    [Asynchronous update of flash chart when select list value changes|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3491745]
    The goal was when I clicked a button or changed a select list the flash chart should update. Here is the command to update the flash chart:
    apex_RefreshChart ($v('pFlowStepId'), $v('Pxx_REGION_ID').substr(1), navigator.language );This worked really well in Firefox but IE always created an error:

    Seems more like a general error? Everybody should be able to rebuild this under IE 8 or IE 7. I use IE8!
    Created source code:
    &lt;script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
    function chart_r2258227549390282_InitRefresh(pNow) {
      setTimeout("chart_r2258227549390282_InitRefresh(true)",10000);
      if (pNow){apex_RefreshChart (1, '2258227549390282', 'de');}
    apex_SWFFormFix('c2258227549390282');
    &lt;/script>It still works well with Firefox.

  • Flash chart error: scroller position should be positive and integer

    Hi
    I am periodically getting this error when running a flash chart.
    It seems to be related to the amount of data that I am using.
    Any Idea whats causing it and how to resolve it
    Keith

    This only happens when using custom xml. If I change it to use the built-in xml, I get a no data found message.
    That happens even if i just reset the custom xml.

    All of the Flash charts on a page started displaying the error "A Start-tag was not matched with an end-tag." The charts were all working prefectly and no changes were made to the page. Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

    Hi Sa'ad
    Its been a little while since I used Web Analysis but I remember that there are issues if you have more than 1 dimension in rows or columns. What I cannot remember is whether it automatically shifts a dimension to the page or whether as you suggest it just doesn't display.
    Pie charts can only display data from two dimensions (1 rows, 1 columns), you can filter using dimensions on pages. If that doesn't give you what you need then I'm afraid you need to stick to a different chart type.
    Hope this helps

  • Flash Chart Legend Problem

    Hi,
    Im having a problem with my flash chart legends in Apex3.0.
    I have changed the name of the Series to what i want to appear in my legend - however the legend just shows "Value" for all my Series.
    Does anyone else have this problem?
    Cheers,
    Immanuel

    Hello,
    I need a legend like this
    No of Clicks('000)
    If i give l" No of Clicks('000)" as column alias, chart says Error :No chart data available.
    If i give "No of Clicks('000')" or "No of Clicks(''000)" as column alias in the query, it displays the correct legend..
    Would anybody tell me how to show the legend like this
    No of Clicks('000)

  • The flash chart Link not opening in oracle Apex 4.1

    I have created a flash chart (Pie chart ) on the latest version 4.2.
    Everything is workinfine when I have created a hidden item and associated a computation to it and added that in custom color option in chart attributes
    I am able to customize this again in this version
    But When I have done same thing in Apex 4.1
    I am able to see the output .but When I try to change the color and click on chart attributes it throws an error showing no data found
    Kindly help me in solving this error .

    Hi,
    To assist in resolving your issue, could you please outline the steps you've carried out in your 4.1 environment? Also, could you please confirm exactly what version of APEX you are referring to - 4.1.0 or 4.1.1?

  • Chart Error - scroller positions should be positive and integer

    <p>
    Hello Expert
    I have created a flash chart with two filters on the chart region.
    i) &lsquo;Select list with submit' ----- (:P23_TRC)
    ii) &lsquo;Radio button with submit' -----(:P23_IMPACTC)
    The chart should display as per the filters selection.
    However, I get the error message "<strong>scroller positions should be positive and integer</strong>", once, whenever I load this chart page for the 1st time in a new IE window.
    After I change the filter's value it will work perfectly fine.
    In filters default value is one value from respective filter list of value
    </p>

    If I remove the filter conditions from chart query, it works perfectly without error.

    Hi Rima,
    I found the solution,
    My graph is dependent on the page items. What I found was when I load the page, item default value was displayed but it was not stored in the memory. Item value only gets stored in memory when the page is submitted.
    Line: -----
    Soultion : - Create a page level before header process and define the default value over here as well. This will resolve your error.
    Hopefully you understood what I am trying to explain. If not let me know and I will trying to put in picture and email you.

  • Apex 3.1 and Custom Flash Charts

    I am having difficulty getting to the point where my custom flash charts can be displayed. I have Oracle 10.2, over OHS to Apex 3.1. I cannot post any of the config files or code here because it is a different network, so I realize it will be hard to troubleshoot; and I apologize in advance.
    I would use the canned Flash charts, but my application displays data much like MS Outlook's multi-user calendar does. The chart has to be color coded, similar to Outlook's Busy vs Tentative etc. It has to show multiple events at various times, including overlapping times. And it has to handle schedules for multiple people. Lastly, there are of course gaps in the schedule, because no day is comprised entirely of meetings. That is why I felt I had to do it manually.
    I wrote XML/SVG code to do this previously, with HTML DB 1.5, and it worked fine. But Flash is the way we are going now, and I can't use SVG anymore. (Besides, Adobe says SVG will no longer be supported next year.)
    I followed the thread of April 07 in which MAdelfio posted suggestions, but I can't get it right. I did everything listed except I never included the <data>...</data> code, because I am not sure where it goes. I have a custom written stored proc, exactly like in the thread, and I pass it all the args that apex_util.flash wants. I get a malformed XML message when I try to display the chart. That seems like it should be a very straight forward error, but I can't figure out where to look. I have been using 1.5 for about a year, and last month upgraded to 3.1.
    Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Or, failing that, any simple examples that display Flash charts in which the code was generated by a stored procedure?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    I'm sorry about not being able to provide all the info you need. Since it is on a totally separate network, with no access to the outside world, the only way I can do it is to print and retype everything. So I was hoping that someone could just provide suggestions as to where to look rather than providing answers. I understand that it is impossible for you to solve my problems, especially when you have been given no real information. And I don't want to keep you guessing -- I'd love to be able to just show everything and ask for help; I just can't.
    Anyway, I am trying to use only those facilities provided with Apex. I do not have any 3rd party tools except for Perl. I am using the standard shockwave flash plugin for Mozilla. The way I did it with SVG was to create a stored procedure that generated an XML file. I put a button on the page that ran the stored proc and then redisplayed the page, with an HTML region. That region included an iframe, where the source was a perl script that merely regurgitated the SVG script (for some reason I could not get the iframe to accept XML as a source, so I created send_svg.pl, which merely outputted the named SVG file).
    The format I followed was in this thread: Re: Custom Flash Charts
    I even created a replacement proc for APEX_UTIL.FLASH with the exact output as the thread, knowing that even if it worked I'd still have a ton of work making it produce my chart. But once I can get the infrastructure right, I feel I can write the flash XML.
    Maybe the easiest thing is to scan that thread I referenced and tell me if it is still accurate? That is, could anything have changed in 3.0.1, or should it still work? It is possible, maybe even likely, that I made a mistake retyping all that stuff, so maybe just verifying that it SHOULD work is a good start.
    Thanks again, and sorry again.
    Michael

  • Using 'Function Returning SQL Query' with Flash charts

    I have created a pl/sql function that returns a SQL query as a varchar2 of this form:
    select null link
    <x value> value
    <Series1 y value> Series 1 Label
    <Series2 y value> Series 2 Label
    <Series3 y value> Series 3 Label
    from tablea a
    join tableb b
    on a.col = b.col
    order by <x value>
    If I now call the function from a Flash Chart Series SQL box with the Query Source Type set to 'Function Returning SQL Query' like this:
    return functionname(to_date('30-sep-2010', 'dd-mon-yyyy'))
    it parses correctly and the page is saved; however, when I run the page I don't get any output - nor any error messages or other indication of a problem.
    Now, if I call the function in a SQL client, capture the SQL query output using dbms_output and paste that into the Flash Chart Series SQL box - changing the Query Source Type to SQL Query - and save the page it works fine when I run it and returns a multi-series flash chart.
    Can anyone suggest either;
    1. What have I might have missed or done wrong?
    2. Any way to usefully diagnose the problem...
    I have tried using the Apex debugger - which is very nice, by the way - but it doesn't provide any info on what my problem might be. I even tried writing my own debug messages from my function using the apex_debug_message package - got nothing...
    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
    Try expressing the source as this:
    begin
       return functionname(to_date('30-sep-2010', 'dd-mon-yyyy'));
    end;That works fine for me, and if I take out the begin-end and the trailing semicolon from the return statement I get the same behavior as you.
    It does mention in the help for the source (only during the wizard though) that this source type has to be expressed that way, but I agree it would be helpful if the tool would validate for this format when 'Function Returning SQL Query' is used or give some sort of indication of the trouble. Anyway, this should get you going again.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Flash Security Error

    I how can I solved the Flash Security Error? I can't view a chart that requires Flash.

    Has anyone been able to resolve this issue? There is also a similar older post (http://forums.adobe.com/message/32592#32592) that has not been answered.
    I have a Flex app on my website that downloads a file from the same place. Both are under the root directory. This works fine in IE7, IE9, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. In IE8 I get the error (error text is "Error #2048"). This is on 32- and 64-bit XP machines.
    I even tried putting a crossdomain xml file (which should not be needed) to no avail.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • APEX - Flash Charts No Longer Displaying

    Has anyone else experienced a situation where their Flash Charts suddenly stop displaying and no error messages are shown? I am on version 3.1.1.

    Hi,
    If it was working before then stopped working , the best place to start with is "what has changed?"
    If your IP, hosting , protocols (read move from HTTP to HHTPS) or some server side detail has changed then you can expect this to happen.
    Another possibility is that the swf folders were moved.

  • Flash Chart Series : SQL Query Validation

    Hello,
    I probably found a bug on the SQL Query Validation for Flash Charts, if I have two subqueries, the validation fails:
    SQL Query example:
    SELECT NULL, a, b
    FROM (SELECT c a, d b FROM
    ( SELECT 'first' c, 2 d FROM DUAL))
    Error returned:
    "Failed to parse SQL query:
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 45: PLS-00428: an INTO clause is expected in this SELECT statement"
    Is this problem known or is there just something that I do wrong ?
    Christophe

    Yes it was that problem, but I still have an issue:
    How do I set the Flash Chart to use a PL/SQL function in the first place ?
    When I try to enter:
    "return package.function;" in the Create Region Wizard, I get the following error:
    Failed to parse SQL query:
    return EXPERT.getFullListSQLByNC
    ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
    Certain queries can only be executed when running your application, if your query appears syntactically correct, you can save your query without validation (see options below query source).
