Flash-html-textfield / links in a MIAW?

Hello folks,
i have a problem that freaks me up:
SETUP:
within a director-movie (main movie) i load a second
director-movie as MIAW (second movie). within the second movie i
have a swf-sprite (swf movie) that contains a html-textfield.
now i try to pass a html-string to that textfield, for
example:
... see below ... ;)
if i preview the swf-movie, that works fine.
PROBLEM:
within the director-movies this html-string is only
interpreted as string, no link is available... the textfield
displays only GOOGLE - no matter if or how " / ' is escaped ... can
anybody hint me to a solution of this problem?!

Flash normally runs in a browser window, and so its native
mechanism for
interpreting a call to the web is to send out to the browser
to make
this happen.
When you place a Flash .swf inside a Director movie, either
by importing
or by linking the .swf, the Director movie is now the host
for that
file, not a browser window. While Director is fully capable
of opening
the new link in a browser, it doesn't understand the command
that Flash
is sending to it.
What you need to do in this case is to pass the url to the
Director
movie and let it open the browser connection.

    html#anchor use to be very problematic few years back.
    Browsers didn't like it and even tho
    you made one browser like it, it would stop working in
    another. We had all kind of work around,
    from javascritp to url encoding. Perhaps give it a try and
    see what works for you:
    getURL("javascript:top.left.location.href='test.html#anchor';
    void(0);");
    Keep in mind , the functionality will vary based on browser
    version also due to
    new security settings, you might not be able test it locally,
    might need to upload
    to server.
    If using URL encoding, replace the # with %23:
    getURL ("some.html%23anchor");
    Best Regards

  • Android, backspace doesn't work properly in a flash.text.TextField

    Hello,
    I have a bug on my Nexus 5 Android 4.4 Air 4.0.
    when I scroll the text in the textField and I select the text (in my example near "subclass" word), the TextField get focus, if I put on the backspace key, the character deleted is the previous character the first time, and if I put again on the backspace key, the caracter deleted is the first character and not the previous character.

    Hello,
    I have created a enquiry section in flash for one of my html DW pages for my site. When I publish the flash doc ti creates a html page (Contact.html). When I open the flash html page in DW or upload it to my server, everything works fine. I recieve an email at my prefered destination etc etc. But as its only a section of my contact page of my website i need to insert it into my site page (get_in_touch.html) soon as i try and take all the stuff from contact.html and insert it into a div in my get_in_touch.html it doesn't respond when the submit button is pressed..... Can someone please help!!!!!
    Dan

    Thanks for all your help. I've managed to sort out the problem, still not
    sure what it was.... My sites live now.
    Just one question for you if you dont mind.
    The page which has the flash on it (yes this one again!) Well if someone
    goes to the page with out having flash player installed on their machine,
    i'm looking for some script to detect that there computer doesn't have
    Flash and redirect them to another html page I've created.
    Would really appreciated any advice you may have.
    many thanks,
    Dan

    Somewhere above your tag, you will have a line similar to this - Also in your tag the swf file -
    These are the files that I said may be wrong or missing.
    However if you just edit the flash generated page and include the items you
    require in this, and maintain the same file position, you should have no
    problems,

  • Hardle ever goes to the right spot when visting a html#page link

    http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/macbookpro/index.html#nov17
    almost everyday i goto the macintouch.com web site, and click on the macbook pro report, it usually has a html#date link. the first time it goes right to top of the page instead of the #nov17 place holder. if i refresh, it goes to the nov17 spot everytime. why does this happen ?

    Page works OK for me.
    It may be you are initially accessing a cached page, which would reflect prior activity from a previous visit. Go to the Safari Menu and select "empty cache". Then try the site. See if that makes a difference.

  • I cannot type Unicode characters (Vietnamese for instance) in Flash input textfields.

    Given the same website containing a Flash Input TextField, I can:
    # Type Vietnamese properly on IE
    # Type Vietnamese properly on Google Chrome, but only when the Flash '''wmode''' property is set at "windows" (not transparent, nor opaque, etc.)
    # Type Vietnamese properly on FireFox 3.6
    # '''Cannot''' type Vietnamese properly at all on FireFox 4 Final, no matter what wmode is set to

    There are two "serial" numbers (the product number) that came on the product packaging.
    The software is Adobe Flash Professional CS5.5 Student and Teacher Edition, purchased from Amazon.com and needed student verification to obtain the license.
    ^ [ I figured out what was wrong, but I'll just leave the information here for anyone in the future that may have short-term memory as well ]
    I have just went through my records that I recovered from my laptop and it seems that the serial number on the product package DOES IN FACT have letters in it.  But I think that I had to register it with Adobe and verify that I was a student before Adobe would give me my legitimate serial number that contained only numbers.  So this is why there are tons of these threads about this that never go answered because the people asking and the people helping are both right and wrong at the same time.  The students are trying to use the only serial that was provided to them, but it isnt the true serial.  Maybe Adobe could be more clear that it isn't a serial number for the product underneath it?   "Product Code" is synonymous with "Serial Number" to most people.
    You use this code (the code with letters in it; the "product code") to contact Adobe and verify your status as a studen/teacher and then they give you the true serial number that is all numbers.  Search your email for mail from Adobe to find your serial if you have already done this.  I had completely forgotten how the process worked since it was a while ago.
    Thanks for the help Mylenium, I hope this helps whoever comes across it in the future.

  • Links in HTML TextField not working well on iPad

    Hi there;
    I've got a TextField with html in it that has anchors that call out to Flash functions using the href="event:" mechanism.
    It works 100% fine when I test my fla on my Mac... ie. Clicking on the links is responsive, and all works as expected.
    When I publish this to the iPhone or iPad, the links work, but only after I click them 2 or 3 times. It *seems* like the stroke of the font is the only clickable part.... It feels like clicking in the center of a letter "O" wouldn't work, and clicking the strokes of the letter "O" would...
    The links are very big... and there are about 20 of them on the page.
    Has anyone else run into this problem? I've tried using css styles to set display:block, but that didn't seem to help!
    Thanks,
    Brad

    had this all typed in earlier today just when we had a major power outage and lost it, plus restraining myself from tossing the IPAD and sticking to Android mobile!
    anyways, per your message, tried to rework my app here as well and this method seems to work for me with item still to be worked out per notes below.
    overview:
    using TLF CS5.5
    use TouchEvent listener on my containers to return textline being touched
    once touched, loop through all spans and if parent is a link, get the textline associated with that link
    if match then jackpot, return,
    some rough code below,
    where this fails is when my link rambles over several lines and it's only recognizing the first line of the link. Otherwise, all links in all containers respond well.
         function taphandler(event:TouchEvent): void {
           var leaf:SpanElement;
           var link:LinkElement;
           var absoluteStart:int;
           var matchTextLine:TextLine;
           leaf = SpanElement(TLF2.textFlow.getFirstLeaf());
           while (leaf = SpanElement(leaf.getNextLeaf())) {
             link = leaf.getParentByType(LinkElement) as LinkElement;
             if (link != null){
               absoluteStart = link.getAbsoluteStart();
               matchTextLine = link.getTextFlow().flowComposer.findLineAtPosition(absoluteStart).getTextLine(true);
                if(matchTextLine==event.target){
                  //JACKPOT! use link.href
                  return;
    i welcome any input to code (i think i miss out if i have a link in first span which I should not have but..) and how to get at the second, third, fourth,.. lines of the link.  hopefully someone in the TLF area can explain the quantity and hierarchy of the objects of the links that are spread over many lines since from a user perspective we just see text, mind you high quality and very intelligent text and Adobe should be commended.
    UPDATE:
    as it worked above, a sample textline with plain text and 3 links, clicking anywhere on the textline always gives me link#1 unfortunately.
    seems like I need a for loop just before the matchTextLine that iterates i=(link.parentRelativeEnd-link.parentRelativeStart) times, then must do a GetAtomBounds LocalToGlobal compare to Stage.x then modify the line if(matchTextLine==event.target){  to if(matchTextLine==event.target&&thisLinkIsAtX==true){      ouch I hope I don't have to do all this..

  • HTML Formatted Links in Dynamic TextField Trigger Popup Blocker

    I recently updated the flash on my site to load all text
    content as HTML from an XML file and display it in a couple of
    dynamic text fields. Everything works as expected except that links
    in the HTML text with a "_blank" target trigger popup blocking in
    IE and Firefox. Any thoughts on why this is happening and what I
    can do to fix it?

  • Link ancher  flash-html

    im building a website in HTML but i made the menu in Flash.
    I would like to know what is the code to ancher link the
    flash menu to different parts of the page.
    The site it has to be mainly made in html.
    I wrote this in the html code: <a name="print">
    and this in the button flash menu : on (release) {
    getURL("#print");
    With no luck

    Yes, use on getURL me,data. Attach a behavior to the Flash
    sprite that looks something like this:
    property thisSprite
    on beginSprite me
    thisSprite = me.spriteNum
    end
    on getURL me,data
    gotoNetPage data
    end
    Flash expects to be wrapped in a browser window. When that
    same Flash swf is inside a Director movie, there is no browser to
    communicate with, so the getURL method fails. Director can take the
    string that you send from Flash and use it in a gotoNetPage method.
    Be sure to include the network xtras with your
    projector.

  • Help with linking to Flash/HTML created by Keynote

    Not sure if this has been asked before.
    I have created a website using iweb www.compliancetoday.co.uk
    I have now created a keynote presentation which I have exported to Flash. This created a swf and a html file. Of course the swf looks lousy on its own but the html linking to it looks great on my desktop (both files are in a folder). My problem is this.
    I am trying to create a page in my iweb site that will have a hyperlink which will load the swf for viewing. I have tried doing it in iweb but the hyperlink doesn't work - meaning that it keeps unticking the make hyperlink active button. (I have been publishing to local folder to make sure it works first).
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Export to SWF has been dropped in the latest version of Keynote. I guess one of the reasons was that the 3D transitions would not translate to flash.
    My two work arounds can be seen here.....
    http://roddymckay.com/VisualMedia/QuickTimeiFrame.html
    http://roddymckay.com/VisualMedia/ConvertQuickTimetoFlash.html
    Here's a flash animation I made in Keynote '08, exported in SWF format and the code I used....

    You cannot embed any linking data in a GIF file. This is done in HTML.
