CS4 animated gif imported from Flash - how to link

I have a few animated gifs published from Flash CS4 the files have clickTag info in the actionscript but Flash will not export that so I need to make the animated .gifs click to their respective links.
How do I do in Photoshop CS4?
any help??

Photoshop can produce animated GIF files but I'm confused by your request.
You cannot embed any linking data in a GIF file. This is done in HTML.

  • Animated gif's from unsaved file?

    I used to be able to create animated gif's easily from unsaved files. I would simply select all the layers I wanted to use and process them.
    After upgrading to CS6, I'm totally lost. I've followed half a dozen tutorials, but nothing works. The only way I can even load a frame into the Windows Timeline feature is to first save several images from my unsaved file, then reload them by choosing File > Scripts > Load Files into Stacks. But even then I can't find a Make Frames from Layers option when I click the down arrow on the right side of the palette.
    Is there a simple way to create animated gif's from layers in an unsaved file on CS6, or do I need to reinstall my older Photoshop version in order to created animations?
    Thanks.

    Yes, I clicked Frame Animation Mode, but that's as far as I can get. It doesn't work the same as my older version of Photoshop. The only buttons that appear to function on the left side of the palette are "Split at playhead" and "Select a transition," and they actually don't do anything.
    The tutorials tell me to click the down arrow on the right side of the palette and choose "Make Frames from Layers," but that choice isn't listed. The choices that are listed include "Loop Playback" and "Allow Frame Skipping."
    I've tried several tutorials and have experimented with just about every button and arrow I can find, but I can't get any farther than the image you posted.

  • How do you configure a button to play an animated gif in adobe flash

    this is an assignment for a web design class i am currently taking. the teacher provided this code for us:
    function BlueplayMovie(event:MouseEvent):void
              gotoAndPlay("mighty");
         blue_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, BlueplayMovie);
    [where "mighty" is the name of a sample animated gif he made in class, and blue_btn is the name of his button]
    i substituted the name of my animated gif for "mighty" and i also substituted the name of my button for "blue_btn", however when i test it, the button does not do anything.
    i think it could be due to the fact that the code says function BlueplayMovie in the beginning, and then again at the end. I don't know what that is, or what it means. i probably have to change that to something,
    does anyone have any ideas as to what i could do??
    THANKS!!!

    Animated gif files play on their own, you do not command them to play.  Look up the gotoAndPlay() function in the help documentation and maybe that will give you some idea of what you need to do around the code provided to have it make sense for the assignment. For someone to give you the answer here is pretty much along the lines of cheating on your assignment.

  • Text won't import from flash to after effects

    Dear all,
    I'm relatively new to Flash (and an absolute novice at AE). I've been working on a series of simple videos in Flash that have alternating text and images. The idea was to import these .swf into Premiere Pro. However, Premier Pro doesn't take .swf files and I have to go through AE. When I import my .swf into AE all the text disappears and I only have the images. Any idea how to work around this?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    See this note from After Effects Help about what is imported from a SWF file:
    "SWF files are imported with an alpha channel. Audio is not retained. Interactive content and scripted animation are not retained. Animation defined by keyframes in the main, top-level movie is retained."

  • Animated gif import

    Is there any other way to import an animated gif that import it frame by frame?

    Not in iMovie.
    GIF files are made up of "frames" and each frame may not contain all of the data from the previous or next frame to complete an image file.
    I use GraphicConverter to export to other formats.
    QuickTime Pro can also open and export GIF formats.

  • Fireworks CS4 animated gif - ghosting - Help Please!

    I have creadted a skyscrapper ad using Frieworks with a gradient on the background. When it is played on a PC (I use a Mac), there is ghosting of the text. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? It looks fine on my Mac. When I save as an animated gif, I select dither to make the gradient look smoother. Help! Please!

    Hi,
    Animated gif backgrounds with gradient would definitely look ghosted or distorted because of the way GIF images are generated. Take a look at the solution suggested in this tutorial http://www.smartwebby.com/free_tutorials/website-design-how-to/GIFs-optimization.asp - I think using the Exact setting might make your Animated GIF with gradients smoother.

  • Import from Database - how to restrict the list of schemas

    This may be more of a general Oracle question, but the problem is showing up in OBIEE, so...
    When running an Import from Database in the repository tool, I see a lot of schemas listed in the data source pane, like APEX_030200, CTXSYS, MDSYS, OLAPSYS, PUBLIC, SYS, and SYSTEM, in addition to the schema that I've used for the connection (TRAINING). There are a lot of other schemas in the database that are NOT shown in the import dialog.
    Question 1: What's special about the schemas that I've mentioned above that causes them to always show up in the import dialog?
    Question 2: How can I eliminate them from the import dialog, so that I see one and only one schema - TRAINING? What privileges or roles must I grant or revoke so that when my connecion pool uses the TRAINING schema, then TRAINING is the only schema listed on the import dialog?
    Thanks!

  • Animated GIF exported from Photoshop is blurry

    I have an animated GIF, 400px x 400px, 150dpi. It looks fine in Photoshop, but when I Save for Web and export it, the GIF appears in the browser double the size and blurry. Even if I choose the export settings to be half the size at 200px x 200px, the GIF is still blurry. I thought a retina display might have something to do with it, but when testing on a PC, the GIF is still too large, even though it appears more clear.
    What am I doing wrong here? I just want what appears in Photoshop to appear in the browser.

    What aspect ratio are the photos in the slideshow?  Have you tried cropping them to 3:2?

  • After importing from iPhoto, how would you eliminate the photos?

    I have installed Aperture adn like it quite a bit. I imported from iPhoto (which copies over the pictures...not move.)
    I have backed up the photos in iPhoto to an external hard drive in case Aperture blows up on me and I need to go back to iPhoto. But now that I have done that, what is the suggested way to get all those pictures out of iPhoto? so I can get back that disk space.

    Maybe I'm missing something, but what's wrong with simply deleting and then emptying the trash?

  • Import from iPhoto: how to get rid of unwanted copies and thumbnails?

    Hi,
    Browsing through my 37000 images - mostly imported from iPhoto, I recogize that a lot of them are (for some strange reason, or error on my part) imported twice.
    It typically manifest itself like 2 project files like this:
    2003-05-16-21-2
    2003-05-16-21-2 (1)
    ....with a lot of the content in the 2 projects being identical. I also get quite a bit of projects with names ending with .."Thumbs" containing small images.
    Is there a way of safely removing identical copies and thumbs without having to traverse all the folders/projects manually?
    Best regards,

  • Import from Catalog -- how?

    Every year I go on vacation and take lots of pictures, create a catalog of them on my notebook, and every year I fight with getting them into my main Lightroom catalog. I have almost 4000 photos to import in 37 directories.
    This year I decided to try to do it the "right" way. I tried Import from Catalog. There is very little information about this feature in the help. I want to maintain what I've done on my notebook including the tree structure. I pointed to the catalog and LR said OK, fine, what do you want to do. I selected to move them and pointed to the new directory I had created for the tree structure. It started to import and it was clear it was completely ignoring my folder structure and was going to import almost 4000 photos into the single directory. So I stopped the import.
    Last year I imported the catalog leaving the files where they were and then intended to move the directories. That worked, except since it plopped the new directories at the top level of my LR hierarchy, I had to move each folder individually, which was a pain. Especially since I think moving folders is only via drag and drop, so I had to drag from the top, letting it scroll to where I wanted it, each time. That might not happen this time because I have a directory above the 37 subdirectories, but it can't be the "right" way to do this.
    I can't believe that many many people are doing this and succeeding. What am I missing?
    Judy

    It's done. This time I had a top level directory in the catalog so it was easy to move the directory tree. However, LR is very slow to move files, so if I had it to do again, I would have copied the files outside of LR and then repointed LR. The other thing is LR does a MOVE, which means it deleted my originals. For me, it was a copy already, so that didn't matter. If I do it myself, I can do a copy rather than a move.
    It is done, but this is surely not the correct way!

  • Fireworks cs4 - animated gif

    ok.
    Haven't had to do this since cs3.
    I have my images collected for each frame of the animation in Fireworks CS4 on separate layers.
    I am under the impressions that "States" has replace "Frames".
    I create a new state and make layer one visible.
    I duplicate the state and make layer two visible.
    When I go back to state one layer two is visible instead of just layer one.
    It looks like layer visibility is changing across all states.
    What's the trick?
    Thanks.

    Hi Linda,
    I'm wondering if you can explain in a bit more detail how to actually place graphics on states as opposed to layers.
    If I select the contents of a layer and copy them, then go to the states panel, select the specific state i want the content on, and paste... it doesn't seem to do anything but create a new layer in my layers panel. If I turn off layers from one state to the next, it turns them off for all states.
    I made many layers in Photoshop, expecting to be able to open the file in Fireworks, make states, and just turn on and off layers to create my animation. This worked with earlier versions of Fireworks (back when GIF banners were the standard format for online ads... I know, I'm a dinosaur).
    I've been trying to get this to work for hours, and finding this very unintuitive and frustrating.
    Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Importing from flash

    I just created an animation in flash. I created the main
    files in Photoshop for my website. Now, I'm told to use Fireworks
    to create my slices before importing into Dreamweaver. Does anyone
    know if I can do this and if so, how do I export the flash file and
    bring it into Fireworks? As much detail would be very much
    appreciated.
    Thanks, Lauren

    Are you sure it's in Firweorks where I create the placeholder
    or is it in Dreamweaver? Can you explain more what I need to do
    with that?
    Do I just create my animation in flash, then create my slices
    in Fireworks and then bring the fireworks and flash files into
    dreamweaver and work with them together? I'm just not sure about
    the flash file since it is my headline and it needs slices on it. I
    have 4 layers. 3 of the layers are animated and the background
    contains my slices (menu and titles). What do I do with
    that?

  • Import From Folder: How to Extract the File Name in a Custom Column.

    Hello All
    Here´s what we´re trying to do:
    We have a folder with csv files named like this:
    Sales_2013-02-05.csv
    Sales_2013-02-04.csv
    Sales_2013-02-03.csv
    Sales_2013-02-02.csv
    Sales_2013-02-01.csv
    And in the csv files there are the sales columns but not the date column.
    So we want to extract the date from the file name.
    I´ve tried entering = Source[Name] in a custom column, but it adds a "LIST" link, and on a click on expand, it adds ALL file names from the folder in each row, instead of just the needed one.
    If we could get the proper file name in each row (from where they got extracted), we could split the column and get the date from there. But I don´t know how put the filename there properly.
    Can you help?

    This isn't entirely straightforward, but it's definitely possible. What you need to do is to apply all of your transforms to each individual file instead of the combined files. I do that as follows:
    1) Use Folder.Files as generated by the GUI to look at the list of my files.
    2) Pick one file and do all the transformations to it that I want to apply to all of the files. Sometimes, this just amounts to letting the autodetection figure out the column names and types.
    3) Go into the advanced editor and edit my code so that the transformations from step 2 are applied to all files. This involves creating a new function and then applying that function to the content in each row.
    4) Expand the tables created in step 3.
    As an example, I have some files with names that match the ones you suggested. After steps 1 + 2, my query looks like the following:
    let
        Source = Folder.Files("d:\testdata\files"),
        #"d:\testdata\files\_Sales_2013-02-01 csv" = Source{[#"Folder Path"="d:\testdata\files\",Name="Sales_2013-02-01.csv"]}[Content],
        #"Imported CSV" = Csv.Document(#"d:\testdata\files\_Sales_2013-02-01 csv",null,",",null,1252),
        #"First Row as Header" = Table.PromoteHeaders(#"Imported CSV"),
        #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"First Row as Header",{{"One", Int64.Type}, {"Two", type text}, {"Three", type text}})
    in
        #"Changed Type"
    For step 3, I need to take steps 3-5 of my query and convert them into a function. As a check, I can apply that function to the same file that I chose in step 2. The result looks like this:
    let
        Source = Folder.Files("d:\testdata\files"),
        Loader = (file) =>
            let
                #"Imported CSV" = Csv.Document(file,null,",",null,1252),
                #"First Row as Header" = Table.PromoteHeaders(#"Imported CSV"),
                #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"First Row as Header",{{"One", Int64.Type}, {"Two", type text}, {"Three", type text}})
            in
                #"Changed Type",
        #"d:\testdata\files\_Sales_2013-02-01 csv" = Source{[#"Folder Path"="d:\testdata\files\",Name="Sales_2013-02-01.csv"]}[Content],
        Loaded = Loader(#"d:\testdata\files\_Sales_2013-02-01 csv")
    in
        Loaded
    Now I apply the same function to all of the rows, transforming the existing "Content" column into a new value:
    let
        Source = Folder.Files("d:\testdata\files"),
        Loader = (file) =>
            let
                #"Imported CSV" = Csv.Document(file,null,",",null,1252),
                #"First Row as Header" = Table.PromoteHeaders(#"Imported CSV"),
                #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"First Row as Header",{{"One", Int64.Type}, {"Two", type text}, {"Three", type text}})
            in
                #"Changed Type",
        Transformed = Table.TransformColumns(Source, {"Content", Loader})
    in
        Transformed
    Finally, I need to expand out the columns in the table, which I can do by clicking on the expand icon next to the Content column header. The resulting query looks like this:
    let
        Source = Folder.Files("d:\testdata\files"),
        Loader = (file) =>
            let
                #"Imported CSV" = Csv.Document(file,null,",",null,1252),
                #"First Row as Header" = Table.PromoteHeaders(#"Imported CSV"),
                #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"First Row as Header",{{"One", Int64.Type}, {"Two", type text}, {"Three", type text}})
            in
                #"Changed Type",
        Transformed = Table.TransformColumns(Source, {"Content", Loader}),
        #"Expand Content" = Table.ExpandTableColumn(Transformed, "Content", {"One", "Two", "Three"}, {"Content.One", "Content.Two", "Content.Three"})
    in
        #"Expand Content"
    From here, you should be able to get to what you want.
