Flash/iPhone Capabilities

I was curious if anyone knows if Flash iphone apps can access the users iTunes library on the phone. Is this possible? I know it is with Objective C, but can Flash do the same?

There is a setting called "flash.system.Capabilities.hasTLS" that determines whether or not the Flash Player can make native SSL/TLS-based connections. The definition of this property says " Specifies whether the system supports native SSL sockets through NetConnection (true) or does not (false)."
How does Flash determine whether this property is true or false? Is the value passed to the Flash player by the browser? Does Flash figure it out from the environment? If so, how?

I, too, am trying to work out how to use extractors. The documentation is sparse.
I have found that if you replace your:

with:

your Callback is called, but you pretty quickly get a NullPointerException after it returns.

Working with facebook and Twitter oauth API with adobe flash iphone package

Hi Guys any body tried to do some facebook stuff or twitter using with this package for iphone. any thought, findings or help. please share here.
i am trying both with way to use facebook as3 librabry for web and desktop (but now success)and also now going to try to add some web view like thing to ask user to login and authenticate application then make all calls using php web services for rest of functionality.
Would like input from developers interested in facebook, twitter intergration in flash iphone app.

External XML files in Flash iPhone apps

Hi everyone. I know that apple has loosened up on what is and isn't allowed on the app store these days, such as flash. I was thinking of writing an app that would call upon a web based xml file to call up pictures to display in the iPhone.
I know Apple doesn't allow apps that call upon external scripts but it's not an executable script, its a list of images and where they are stored. Does anybody have any input on whether Apple may have a problem with this?

I'm not sure of the differences between actionscript in flash and javascript in the browser but you could call for an XML file to be sent as json data from the script if accessing external XML files directly is not allowed.
Problem is that XML can contain anything you want it too... it could contain a script itself.

Picture was yellow when using flash - iPhone 5

Hi ,
Since a while ago, all pictures taken by my iPhone 5 with Flash on are yellow and nothing in it. But pictures taken with natural light are OK.
I feel this is some issues in the hardware in my phone but am not sure about it.
Note, the IOS on my phone is 8.2 and the phone is almost 2-year old.
Does anyone have same issue? Any advice?

On the iPad look in Settings->iTunes and App Stores->Automatic Downloads.

This setting as its name implies enables the automatic download of content purchased with the same Apple ID.
So if you buy on your iPhone it will be on your iPad automatically. So you don't need to go to your computer, transfer your purchases to your computer, and sync with your iPad or have to manually initiate the download on your iPad from the purchased tab.
This has nothing to do with the error you got, which is probably just due to some connectivity glitch between your iPhone the itunes servers.

J'ai restauré mon téléphone sans remettre ma sauvegarde, j'ai fais un hard reboot, j'ai testé avec un logiciel sur Apple Store "Flash Light" et le flash ne s'allume pas...
Que faire???
L'appareil photo fonctionne parfaitement mais meme en flash auto, ou flash sur "oui" il ne se déclenche pas...

No it won't, because the native 3D is OpenGL which is much more faster then using the iPhone CPU to render you 3D.

Question about Flash iPhone packager

So since Apple now allows it, Adobe picked up development for it again I heard. My question is, additionally to the possibility of creating iPhone apps from scratch I heard there is a packager that allows you to wrap up Actionscript 3 projects as an iPhone app. I didn't get too many infos about it on google since its mostly the same kind of news turning up.
Can you use a previously made Actionscript 3 game or do you have to start a new one and make it with the iPhone in mind? If you can use a previously made project how do you customize it for the touch controls? Does the packager change it into a file useable in Flash again to add these features? I'm totally clueless about the possibilities and it would be great if someone could tell me.
Is it really that I can make an already made as3 game iPhone compatible as long as I have an Apple developer subscription? Or is it limited to simple apps?

Flash iphone bloccato (rimane acceso)

Questa sera il mio iphone ha fatto le bizze, penso sia un problema hardware, il flash della fotocamera si è bloccato ed è rimasto acceso, ho provato a spegnere e a riavviare, ho ripristinato le impostazioni ma nulla, poi ho letto su un post che è un problema di contatto così ho provato a scuotere il cellulare e al momento è spento, salve qualche volta si riaccende, il mio iphone è un rigenerato volevo sapere cosa devo fare in questo caso, la garanzia del rigenerato è finita a dicembre... e di spendere altri 179€ per un altro rigenerato non se ne parla, dopo aver già speso 800€ per prendere il primo iphone mi sembra una presa in giro... non è che all'apple store riescono a ripulire il contatto???

Light leak in camera during flash iphone 4s?

All photos are cloudy when using flash -- there is a light leak. Does anyone have a solution?

There are several possible causes for the problem you describe:
You haven't removed the shipping film from the back of the phone
The lens is dirty
You have a case on the phone that is scattering light from the flash or reflecting it back into the lens
You are too far from the subject (the range of the flash is only about 5 feet).
So remove your case, make sure there is no plastic film over any part of the back, clean the lens and take a bunch of pictures under varying light conditions with subjects at varying distances. If the pictures are still disappointing take the phone to an Apple store for evaluation. Make a genius appointment first (www.apple.com/retail). Don't take it to 3; they don't repair iPhones and don't know anything about them.

republish the FLA, it comes up with errors.

It isn't dependent on the AIR in stalled in your system, it's just based on the packager you're using. If you're using a trial download of CS5.5, then the second line of the app descriptor xml should read like this:
<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.6">
That would show that it's AIR 2.6.

Where can I find the full flash iPhone documentation?

Hi, does anyone know if there's full documentation of all methods available for the iPhone APIs, I've downloaded the PDF that's floating around, but there are many things missing. It must be documented somewhere. People in this forum seem to be confused as to what can and can't be done. It would solve a lot of problems

Hey Sam, I know what you mean, it has been a confusing learning experience. Other then the PDF you are looking at, there is no better documentation that I know of. All other knowledge I have is taken from a few videos/slideshow adobe released + Info on the web site + People just figuring it out and sharing on these forums + allot of my own experimenting.
The reason you don't see a full documentation of the API is that it's not really an API. It is a "packager". It compiles your normal AS3 code into a different format. You use all your old AS3 classes as before, so your documentation is the same documentation you have always used for AS3. The PDF document you have explains any new classes available. There are only a few, like the geo-location and accelerometer supporting classes. It also tells you which of the standard AS3 classes won't work on the iPhone. So you technically have all the information you need.

I was under the impression the 2.0 update was to include flash player? Does anyone else see this as a huge oversight? The web is NOT the web without flash viewing capabilities.
