  • Want to send public message to all oracle apps users while instance up

    Dear
For the oracle apps & db maintenance activities, i would like to send public message, example 'Application will not available for 30 minutes from now'. This message must pop-up on user session. How can i achieve this?
    Help me!

    Ateeq,
I do not think it is possible to send an alert message to all users notifying them that the system will be down. However, you can follow the steps in the following note to redirect the users to a different page or let them a get "The System is now Down for Maintenance" alert message.

  • Created EUL - Oracle Apps users only

    Hello, all!
An EUL was previously created and the Oracle Apps users only was checked, which was supposed to be not. Business areas and folders were already created and i want to reuse all. Is there a way i can change the EUL to make it not for oracle apps users (uncheck or something). I tried exporting the eul but got an error ORA-00942 - table or view does not exist.
    Thanks in advance.

Pl post details of OS, database and EBS versions.

  • Required Oracle FND tables for Discoverer Install (Oracle App user)

Hi does anyone know of set documentation or, via SQL Trace, which existing tables Discoverer looks for when setting up an EUL? For instance, our install requires you select the Oracle Apps User Schema and put in the password for that schema where your FND tables reside.
Assuming some are missing in our current setup, what would be required in order for Discoverer to work in conjunction with the Oracle applications roles and responsibilities, etc.
I found this list in Discoverer documentation and confirmed I know have that setup correctly with proper grants, etc.. The EUL is created but does return an error of "Table or View does not Exist" which can be passed over and you can proceed into the EUL - but there is an error upon logging into EUL.
grant select on FND_USER to &EULOWNER
grant select on FND_APPLICATION to &EULOWNER
grant select on FND_USER_RESPONSIBILITY to &EULOWNER
grant select on FND_RESPONSIBILITY_VL to &EULOWNER
grant select on FND_ORACLE_USERID to &EULOWNER
grant select on FND_DATA_GROUP_UNITS to &EULOWNER
This is Discoverer 10g and Oracle 10g database.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Rod,
I have confirmed that the Discoverer Administrator Responsibility has Administration, Desktop & Plus privelages.
Furthermore, the account I am trying to login as - DSCADMIN has those permissions and is assigned that responsibility as well.
It should be noted that when logging into the EUL as the DSCADMIN account, it prompts me to create a new EUL as one does not exist....however under the EUL ADMIN account (where the EUL was created), it recognizes the EUL since it is the owner.
Am I missing something further - I've been through the documentation several times and can't figure this out - I have continually made progress but then hit a speed bump each time.
It should also be noted that DSCADMIN is a database user schema account and also an Apps user as well - but this is how it was setup in our old enviornment so I wouldn't think this would make a difference.

  • Oracle apps users

Where exactly the usage of GUEST user comes ?
What is the difference in usage of users APPS, APPLSYS, GUEST, APPLSYSPUB ?
    Edited by: user12007281 on Nov 30, 2010 4:54 AM

    hi,
apps: It maintains access rights between all product schemas. Apps schema has synonyms to all base product tables and sequences and full privileges to each product’s schema. Hence, apps schema has universal access to Oracle Applications.
    - applsys: It is a schema that stores the data objects for the Applications technology layer products (FND, AD, and so on).
    - applsyspub: It is a public schema which is used only during the signon process and has no data objects, only synonyms to APPS.
GUEST is an application user while APPLSYSPUB is a database user.
GUEST account is used to obtain the decrypted value of the apps password for internal processes (i.e. when there is a need to connect as apps internally).
applsyspub is used during the login process.
GUEST user is used whenever there is a need for the application users to connect to the database internally as apps user.

  • Trying to sync my iPad and get the message that "all existing apps and their data will be replaced"

Previously my Windows 7 laptop didn't recognise my iPad but I persevered and now am getting the message when trying to update the iOS that if I sync, "all existing apps and their data will be replaced" so I'll lose everything I've bought since I last synced (which is a while).  How can I back up my apps before syncing fully and then updating. I have 'transferred purchases' using the File menu but still getting the message.

Sounds like you have created a new library somehow. Ideally you would restore your old library and the problem would go away. If that is not possible then you should be able to:
Backup the device to the computer
Transfer your purchases into an authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Download remaining past purchases from iTunes in the Cloud, where available
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

    Greetings,
I am running Oracle Apps 12.1.1 using native login authentication. What I would like to do is set it up so that it uses our Active Directory to authenticate users. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to configure this or do I need to use OIM to accomplish it?

  • Identify user logged in discoverer as a oracle apps user

    Hi Guys,
I am using web based to log in to discoverer as a oracle applications user. there is a report in one responsibility related to PO. My question is, can i catch the user who is logged in (his username or user ID) to be printed on the report.
    or
I created a report which can see the details of the requisition (req ID, line number, Requestor, Approver, Requestor Dept, PO Number, etc). My report should display only the requisitions created by the user who is logged in who will be the requestor here in this case. I cant pass requestor as the parameter. It should automatically take the user logged in as requestor and display only his requisitions on to the output.
    Help Appreciated.
    Thanks

use FND_GLOBAL.USER_NAME to get current user and pass it as parameter

  • Popup message to all logged in users

    Good afternoon,
Is there a way of sending a popup message to anyone logged into an APEX Application - such as: "System is going down for emergency reboot of server. Please log out.", or similar type of message.
I understand that the potential exists that someone that shows as logged in might have closed their browser and all of that. But I have a "strongly worded request" to do the popup thing if possible.
I can parse through those that have logged in, find their emails and send out an email message, but that might not have the same urgency to the user as a popup message would have - particularly if the popup is modal.
I've tried to search the forum, but I haven't seen anything on this. That doesn't mean it isn't here, it just means I didn't find it.
Sorry I forgot: APEX 3.2, Windows 2003 servers; Oracle 11g database. If you need more details, let me know.
    Thanks,
    Don.

    Good morning Roel,
The solution you proposed - creating a Region on Page 0 that reads from a table and displays ONLY if the record count in that table is > 0 works PERFECTLY! I tried it out and I get the expected results.
For anyone else that may wish to try this, what I did was to include a :P0_MSG_COUNT variable and on each of my primary pages (those used most frequently and those refreshed by child pages), I included a process to re-check the table so each time the page was refreshed, if there was a message, it would display.
    Something like this:
    select count(1)
      into :P0_MSG_COUNT
from MSG_TABLE;I set this procedure to run every time the page is loaded or refreshed. This will check to see if something was posted after the user logged into the application.
    Thanks,
    Don.

  • Query to find all ORACLE Finance Users who Approve via Email Notifications.

    Hello to all,
I'm not being lazy here honest, but Ive been asked to find out which users Approve PO's (Purchase Orders) via E-Mail rather than through the Application. As far as I can see, the WF tables do not show the differentiation between those who do one or the other and so Im asking if there's anyone who knows about any other fields where this can be found out.
    Many thanks

  • Grants for non-apps user to view APIs in oracle application module browser

    Hi,
Im trying to make a connection with E-Business Suite using the Oracle Applications Adapter and the Enterprise Service Bus. I follow all the steps for creating the connection pools, connection data sources and connection factories using the standar apps user. After setting up the environment I can drag the oracle applications adapter to a ESB project and choose from all the modules available the especific functionality I want.
The problem comes when I try to use a user different from apps. When I try to set the connection with other user no E-Business Suite modules are display in the Adapter wizard.
Are there any specific privileges I should set up to this database user (non-apps) to give him acces to API, XML Gateways, Tables/views,Business Events, etc??.

Could you let me know the procedure/steps to assign privileges and/or responsibilities for new oracle apps userI understand this is for an application user.
when I am trying to import a journalAgain, you have to run this as an application user.
Same import is working fine with default Oracle applications 11i "APPS" user.APPS is a database user (NOT an application user). So, the Application user you want to create and assign him responsibilities has nothing to do with the database user. If you assign the same responsibilities which the other user has (the one which you use to import journals) to the new application user, then you should be able to do the task successfully.

  • Why record had been unlock in Oracle Apps form?

I have a problem with lock in oracle apps forms.
The problem occurs with all forms in the Oracle Financials (forms with standard oracle apps user-exit), the problem does not occur with standard Oracle default form (outside of the oracle apps, form without user-exit included in Oracle Financials).
For exemple, I will take the Define Lookups forms.
If USER1 modify a record (ex. modify the date from), the record is locked, if USER2 try to update the same record in an other session, he will received an error message indicating that the record is locked and he will not be able to update it. This is normal.
But ..., if USER1 WAIT 1 minute, and just press TAB to go to an other field (WITHOUT SAVING, WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING ELSE), the record is unlock.
USER2 can modify the same record without having the locked message. This is the problem, USER2 should receive an error message because USER1 did not save the record yet but the message do not appear. At this moment USER2 lock the record. If USER1 press SAVE key, his session will be freeze until USER2 save the record.
Why the record had been unlock for USER1 session?
My Oracle Apps version is 11.5.5.
Does somebody ever seen this problem ?
    Thanks.
