Flash method to detect the user browser version.

Hello, I found this property in Flash: System.capabilities.
You can retreive some information about the user, but i did
not find how i can detect
what kind of browser they use to view the flash.
example:
trace(System.capabilities.os); // output is the current
Operating system.. in my case "Windows XP"
Does anyone know how to detect the browser and the version of
it?

I fully agree with you : it SHOULD but... it doesn't!
Safari is the only browser with which it doesn't work...
I tested it with IE, Netscape, Firefox and Opera.
Do you run Safari on Mac OS X? so you could be able to test
it...
I put the code to get the values in the very first frame of
the movie and it is on an "open" layer i.e. it is available from
any frame of the movie.
Any idea to "force" the script to work for Safari?
For the Flash Tracer, I think the problem is Mac related...

I was even going to purchase the Leopard for 29.99 to see would this solve my problem but I want to purchase another pc and sale this one, can you help me?

How to determine the users Browser (IE or WML)

is there a way to programatically determine what the users browser is?
I have a webdynpro that can run on both Blackberry (WML browser) and IE via the portal.
I need a way to identify the users browser from Webdynpro Java.

Yes we currently are using 2 URLs to launch the apps, however, we wanted to see if we could just give 1 URL out to the end user....so they wouldn't have to remember which one to go to for Blackberry and which one to go to for IE.
I have a solution working....I just need to find a way to detect the client without using the TaskBinder.

Everytime I open my imac I get an error message that says: "We're sorry but the Safari browser version your are currently using does not support the community toolbar." I can't see where it affects anything else, but getting an error message on an imac, just doesn't seem right, ya know? How can I get rid of the message.

Apparently an add-on named Community Toolbar was installed at one time, and is causing the problem. To get rid of it, quit Safari, then throw away these files -
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Macintosh HD/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg

Note - if you are using Lion, the Library folder in your home folder (user name folder) is hidden. To get into it, in Finder open the Go menu; with that menu open, press and hold the Option key. An item "Library" will be added to the list, and can then be selected. That will open the Library folder in your home folder.

According to the certification matrix IE9 is certified on PT8.51, so you should not have seen this error on the login page.
IE9 and PT851 are certified on the following platforms:
Microsoft Windows (32-bit) Vista
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) Vista
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) 2008 R2
Microsoft Windows (32-bit) 7
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) 7
Are you also getting this error when trying to log from a client workstation instead of the server?
Could it be that you may be hitting cache? Try deleting webserver cache and rebooting the webserver.
If not, try reinstalling PIA.
Worst case, you can edit the signin.html file to suppress this error, which checks and displays this message.

I am unable to connect to the internet, there is a pop-up that says "We're sorry, but the Safari browse version you are currently using dos no support the community toolbar". My computer does say that it is connected to the internet until I open Safari.

I am unable to connect to the interent. At the top of the screen my computer says that I am connected. When I open up Safari there is a pop up that say "Community Toolbar We're sorry, but the Safari browser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar" and when the Safari page opens up it says "You are not connected to the Internet. Safari can't open the page .... because your computer isn't connected to the Internet." I have tried Network Diagnostics and tried to reset Sfari, empty Cache as well as deleted all of my interent history. I am unable to use Time Machine because I never set it up. If someone knows how to help I would very much appreciate it!!

The problem seems to be well known for last yesrs and previous Flash builder versions, but I got impression that it is still unresolved for Win 7 64 bits, Flash Builder 4.5.
I have installed:
- Flash Builder 4.5
- windows 7, 64bits
- Flash Player the latest - 11.3.r300.257
Please, let me know how to use successfully debugger in Flash Builder 4.5 without below error message:
"Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder"

This is a known bug for Flash Builder 4.5 and 4.6.
It will be fixed in next version of Flash Builder.
The workaround for Flash Builder 4.5 & 4.6 is to download both 32-bit & 64-bit debug player.

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, back up all data, then follow these instructions.
If the instructions don't work, proceed as follows.
Triple-click the line below to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). From the Finder menu bar, select

I've seen a report that Conduit may be bundled with a scam "utility" called "MacKeeper." If you installed MacKeeper, you should remove it according to the developer's instructions. It's worthless and causes many problems reported on this site.

I know how to detect the OS (e.g. Mac or Win) using navigator.userAgent, but I need a way to know the OSX "version" that the user is running.

You cannot detect the Mac OS X version directly through JavaScript; you can use this information to determine whether they're using a PowerPC or Intel Mac. If a visitor is using Safari, you can estimate the Mac OS X version by getting the browser's version and then using this table to translate that.

I have tried it all: clean install, de-activated virus program, run as administrator. Still same message "the user does not have suffucient privilages to install flash player". Using windows 7, 64-bit mozilla 24.0. Please help.

Linking to the Users Browser

Hi,
I am currently compiling old RoboHelp for word (WinHelp 200)
projects into .chm files, and have a problem with hyperlinks in the
projects.
I want the hyperlinks in the projects to open in the users
default browser when click (the hyperlinks are to web pages) but
they just keep opening in the mian window...
I have tried to add them as HTML Jumps with the 'Display in
Browser' option cecked with no luck.. Has anyone else come across
this or have any ideas which may help?
