Flash player buffering then freezing on live tv & radio streams

This seems to have been happening since the update to windows 8.1 and happens in all browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera). Most other videos usually work fine in flash player, it's just mainly when I use something like radio player or watch live tv that the above happens after about 30 seconds. I have the most up to date version of all browsers and flash player.

Some more info on this one. I've rebuilt the PC back up with Windows 7, SP1 & IE9 \ Google Chrome. The same symptoms still persist. Basically the stream will stop downloading after around 30 seconds.
I was able to install a debugging version of Flash from here:http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html and these are the errors which correspond to the freeze or stop of network traffic.

I was informed via Secunia that I needed to update Flash player and then downloaded the new version.  After going into Adobe to see if I was installed correctly I found that the program was installed and I had the new version 10.0.45.2.   When I try to play a game that I have been playing for months, I get the message that I need Flash Player version 8 or above.   What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do now?

    Thanks for your response.

What confuses me is that most of not all of the dates say 1/26/10.  Doesn't give a date of yesterday when I did Flash Player for Firefox.  Is that normal?
Bottom line -- I can now do the games in Firefox that I haven't been able to play since I installed Firefox.  Wouldn't let me play some other video files as well.
I am still unable to do slow scrolling in e-mail or other webpages when I make the page full screen.  that is only in Comcast and not AOL.  It must be a Comcast problem so will have to get in touch with them.
Let me know if all my files in Flash are okay.

  • Flash player drops frames with playing live h264 frames

    Hi
i have been tryin to get to a adobe representative for a long time now regarding this but unfortunately no one responds fast enough. I am facing a terrible issue. When broadcasting h264 live video from a flash based encoder client i notice severe frame drops on the playback end no matter what player i use. It even happens if i use fms development server on my own system. Video becomes smooth if i add a 1 sec buffer to the player. but then the video is no longer live.
So my question is , is theer somethign wrong with h264 encoding in flash player or thats the way it is suppose to be ? at zero buffer  frame drops are severe.  Sample config :
    320 x 240 @ 24 fps @ 90000 bps @ 100 KFI @ 3.1 level @ baseline profile.
I sincerely some one at adobe to respond. There are many stranded questions on this topic on the forum and on the web already.

The CPU usage is 2-6% on the i7 920 vista 64bit computer. The audio doesn't seem to be dropping. Some more clues that might help you help me
    - The quality of the video doesn't matter, 360p drops frames just as often as 720p or 1080p.
    - The dropped frames still occur even when the video is completely downloaded and replayed without any buffering needed.
One thing that does fix the dropped frames is completely disabling my sound card in the windows playback sound options. This also fixes the second computer's dropped frames which only has onboard realtek audio. I have tried using a Creative PCI sound card and the built in realtek sound but they both behave the same. The latest drivers were installed for both.

  • Flash player buffering / streaming problem

Hi experts, I have a strange Flash issue which relates to streaming and or buffering. I'm attempting to watch a MotoGP live stream, however the stream will play for anfew seconds, then stop for 5 minutes before starting again, then freezing...
I'm running windows 7 32bit and flash V11 and have tried chrome, ie and firefox and the connection is hard wired
My Internet connection is about 15mb and ping test has my connection classed as A
I have a Mac connected via wireless running chrome and the video can stream fine
I've opened task manager and viewed the network traffic and there is visible traffic during the initial buffer phase which is relatively level, however this soon drops to zero activity and the video stops
I've also tried this at a friends place with windows 7 and seen a typical buffer profile of network connectivity and there was a clear plateau of network traffic, something missing from this machine.
I've also tried reinstalling flash, my nvidia video card drivers and network drivers, increased the flash buffer and disabled hw acceleration, disables ms security essentials, firewall, dropbox, av, etc
Have I missed something I'm almost ready to reinstall!!!
    Thanks in advance.
Screenshot when frozen - notice no buffering is taking place: http://i481.photobucket.com/albums/rr179/bigduke6_bucket/motogpstream.jpg

  • Adobe Flash Player 10.1 freezing a lot...

    Hi,
since i've updated to 10.1 my days have been a nightmare on the internet. Every site which contains flash freezes on scrooling, freezes while i'm watching a video which support flash, freezes while im watching youtube videos... this didnt happened before. Sometimes theres a few minutes that everythings fine, but if i do some actions on internet the nightmare freezing come back... its very strange.
    My specs:
    2 GB ram 400mhz
    Pentium 4 3GHZ
ATI Radeon Pro 9600 Series(latest drivers)
    Latest version Firefox.
WinXP SP3 (this happens also on Windows 7)
This specs do worked fine whit A.F.P 10 version, but i can't install, gives me to update to 10.1......
Also i've tried other options about uninstalling instaling again, java etc....
The best test that i have made to get this conclusion that is the adobe flash player 10.1 problem is that i formated my disc and after i installed WinXP i installed adobe flash player 10.1 after and problem persist. Freezing!
Please, solve this problem on next version. It's very anoying!

Hi. I seem to be having a similar problem. I have Flash Player version 10,1,82,76. While viewing videos on YouTube or perhaps a news video (CBS, ABC, NBC, etc.) or more especially listening to music on a streaming radio station, the broadcast will play for 30-45 seconds and then just stops. It happens on every streaming radio station I may be listening to. I have read some of the responses here and have checked various things on my computer. The player is properly installed. My graphic/video cards drivers are current. I read something in one of the replies (can't see it right now) about making sure something regarding the player is enabled. I checked that and it is enabled. I also read something about disabling the hardware accelerator. I'm not sure how to get to wherever I need to to check that. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the player and also checked my Java. Here are my system specs:
    Windows 7 (32-bit)
    IE8
    SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
    Thanks

  • Flash Player 10, Video Freezing, Audio Works OK.

Hi, I'm hoping somebody can help me.
I only really use flash player to watch things like youtube and the football highlights on the BBC website. I had flash player 9 until a couple of months ago, and everything was perfect, I was on a website and it came up saying I needed to upgrade to use the website, so I decided to do it, big mistake.
Now when I try to watch videos on flash player on IE7 they get just over 1 minute in then the video starts to freeze but the audio plays fine throughout, at first the video is only playing about 1 frame every second, then it slows over about 30 seconds to about 1 frame every 5 seconds, by this point the picture on the screen is way behind the audio, finally the video plays in fast forward and catches up with the audio and plays ok from there for another minute or so, then it starts all over again.  When the video starts freezing the CPU shoots up to 100% usage and lowers again when the video is playing normally.
It's actually quite funny watching the video when it plays in fast forward, especially when watching football, reminds me of Benny Hill.
Anybody any ideas? It does this in all browsers, firefox is the worst, IE7 the best, I generally use IE7.
My Computer is a Pentium M 1.5ghz, 1.3gb Ram, Windows XP SP2, 64mb Graphics Card, not great but was capable of playing flash videos on FP9.

Hi s, well congrats on getting your brother's computer up and running. On your system, you have all correct Flash Player
files for IE and FF, as well as the SWO and SWF.
Since the Install of Flash Player, have you installed any programs that would have added any ActiveX Controls, or any other add ons or plug-ins?
Have you had an opportunity to see if your brother's computer has the issue you have when watching the same websites?
Are you using any ad-block in FF(Firefox) or any pop up blocker software installed?  I can't imagine updating to FP version 10 alone would cause this.
Is this happening only on the BBC website? Does what you watch come thru the BBC website or youtube directly?
We have your brother's computer to use to determine what is going on. If he is able to see the BBC website and what you
are having problems with, then we can rule out the website.
Other browser add ons, anti-virus programs, etc. affect the browser. Even tho, no problem with vs 9. Sometimes updates
can have an affect, even with Windows as we all know:-)
    Thanks,
    eidnolb

There are two different versions of Flash, the '''''ActiveX''''' version for IE and the '''Plugin''' version used by most other browsers.
1.Download the Flash Plugin version setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    4. Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

  • Flash Player 10 Crashing/Freezing IE 8

I've recently upgraded my laptop to Widows 7 and everytime I go to a site supporting Flash Player it crashes my Internet Explore 8 (The browser just freezes and is "not responding).  I've tried the following:
    1.  Uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player.  I do use http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html to unistall.
    2.  Tried both 32 bit and 64 bit version of Internet Explorer.  I know Flash Player only supports 32 bit.
    3.  Tried using Google Chrome.   Browser still freezes.
    4. Tried different sites.  I've tried a number of sites and same issue reoccurs.  In fact, when I go to www.adobe.com the current video clip ("Avatar") freezes the browser.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

I was growing tired of hearing this question, so I checked in with management and wrote a technote about the topic.. Generally IE8 is fine, but as with any new release there could be issues, so this doc covers how you'll deal with those:

  • How to fix Flash Player buffering entire video before playing?

I am using the most up to date version of flash (16.0.0.305), windows 7, and the problem persists across all browser (IE, firefox, chrome). Today all flash videos are buffering the entire video before playing and i can't seem to figure out how to fix it. I've gone through the entire troubleshooting from Video playback issues (i.e. clearing caches, re installing chrome, re-installing flash, etc.) and nothing seems to change it. Youtube and other premium streaming services (ex. netflix) work fine which suggests the streaming problem is specific to flash. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried uninstall and re install both Flash Player and Chrome it self but nothing changed.
I also noticed that when i try to download something on chrome (this is the browser i use for everything), for example a movie trailer from Apple's trailer site (for example this movie trailer iTunes Movie Trailers) i right click and press Save As, it does nothing after that and after let's say some seconds the window pops up asking me where to save it, and i save it. That means that when i press "Save As" it does starts downloading in the background (like the first post in this thread states) and only wneh it finishes downloading the Chrome pop up window appear. When it should pop immediatelly asking me where to save it the moment i right click something and press Save As. At least that what i used to do before THIS whole problem started......
    Any thoughts...??????
    Please i am desperate......

I am really confused by your install log file; it first seems to install 11.7.700.202, then uninstalls 11.6.602.180.
Can you try a clean install as described in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315

  • I have  a newer version of flash player installed then what is listed as the most recent version??

    Hello,
I am checking the version i have installed of flash player via the adobe version check option at the site and i have version 11.8.800.94 and when i check the list of the latest versions of Adobe, i see 11.7.700.169 listed as being the latest vversion. How can i have a version installed that's above that? I haven't installed a beta version, never signed up for beta testing and all i did was install the latest version of flash player via the website.
I am wondering what this is cause recently when viewing videos on youtube, my videos tend to hang up or end halfway through and think the video ended when it's not. My guess now is that i have sumhow obtained a version of flash player that's not correct and thus why the videos go haywire now. Re-installing flash player sets it back to the 11.8 version again, so that didn't work.
Any information any1 might have that can solve this is much appreciated.

11.8.800.94 is the latest version for Windows and Mac. 11.8.800.115 is the latest beta version. http://helpx.adobe.com/en/flash-player/release-note/fp_118_air_38_release_notes.html

  • Prevent Flash Player 10.1 freezing when off-screen (AS2)

I'm working on a set of SWFs that need to sync with each other using LocalConnection in AS2.
It was working fine in Flash Player 10, but as 10.1 throttles Flashes when they are not visible, the SWFs lose their sync if any of the SWFs are not visible on the page.
This is particularly annoying as we were not aware of this new behaviour in 10.1 and I expect the update will break a lot of similar websites.
Can anything be done to prevent Flash Player from stopping the Flashes? Ideally through the AS2 code.

I found that Flash has a new hasPriority parameter:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/mobile/WS4bebcd66a74275c36cfb8137124318eebc6-7ffd.html
This forces the SWF to start playing if it is off screen initially, which is better.
However, when the user scrolls so that a SWF moves off screen, it will still be throttled and resume from it's current frame when the user scrolls back on.
Is there any alternative to hasPriority that will continue to keep the Flash active?
