Flash Player is installed in my laptop and willl not work on certain sites.

My laptop say's that i have Adobe Flash Player installed in my Toshiba Laptop Windows 8.1, i just updated to 8.1 but this problem excisted before the update. I follow the instruction's and when I get to the area to enable Shockwave Flash Player I am not able to enable it. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you Carrie

I wound up with 8.1 "preview" on my laptop after my daughter was conned into installing it by a Facebook friend.
It rendered about $4500 dollars worth of software "incompatible" (that seems to be a favorite for Microsoft these days) and I had no choice but to reformat the laptop.
I'm avoiding 8.1 till they get it right. My best estimate for that is, about 2016 sometime.

Okay- this is getting more fun-- I just system restored to a

That is my system info ~ my firewall is open and I have no anti-virus software installed.
On Netfilx, when I click Play on an Instant movie, a screen comes up that tells me there is an upgrade for Silverlight. Click the button, go thru what looks like a full install series of windows, go back to click Play, and the same screen comes up. It has happened for the last 48 hours or so, consistently. I opened Chrome and Safari, had the same result.
A Ustream site I follow, also using a Mac, has been getting kicked off that system all day, getting an error message that references Adobe Flash Player ~ he just upgraded, like I did, and wonders if there is a problem with it ~ got me thinking...

From what I can tell, the problem is not Silverlight, it is the flash plugin (10.3). I uninstalled and went back to FLASH 10.1 and Netflix, flash videos, flash based applications, etc all worked again on my brand new computer. Very unfortunate and frustrating.

Installed newest Flash Player, "An error occured" message on Youtube videos not working

I have the latest version of Flash Player (12.0.0.70) and Firefox (27.0.1) installed but I'm getting the "An error occured" message within 1 or 2 seconds of playing a YouTube video. If I uninstall Flash from the computer it works perfectly. Why is this happening? This isn't happening on my other computer which has the same versions installed.
I tried disabling ProtectedMode for Flash Player, completely uninstalling/reinstalling, clearing the cache and cookies, etc. It just won't work if Flash is installed. I'm stumped. Help would be appreciated.

Did you also try to disable hardware acceleration in the Flash player plugin?

I have read other threads and have dragged 10_1r102_64_ub_mac from folder on desk top into Library/plugins. Not sure if I was right to do that? - Im missing something for sure - would love some help please.

Hi Cija, pull it back out & mount the DMG & use the Installer, but first uninstall any previous version...
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!

hello all, I have a new week old laptop, that has windows 7, I'm trying to view videos online, like on youtube, but it keeps saying download flash player, so I download it, then it says it again when i try to watch the videos. I am making drag and drop in Flash professional CC 2014 using canvas and it is working fine on desktop but same when I am testing in Android tablet it is not working. I just discovered something. What I meant above is that I cannot drag and drop files from the "Media Browser" panel. Surely that should be possible. After all, that is how you browse your music files. If I first double click a file in the browser so that it opens in the "Files" panel, I can then drag and drop files from there. That is ridiculously tedious however because that opens the wave file and closes the "CD Layout" panel. I then have to reopen the "CD Layout" panel before I can drag and drop a file. I'm pretty sure you should be able to simply drag and drop from the Media Browser. Any comments from Adobe?

Home sharing between windows 7 laptop and iPad not working

I have looked everywhere for an answer but haven't been able to come up with a solution yet.
So my problem is that I had to get my Samsung laptop (Win7) rebooted after a virus. Before doing so, I connected by iPad by USB to transfer my music. I couldn't use home sharing because my Win7 laptop was infected with a virus that wouldn't let me access the internet.
After the reboot, I connected home sharing to try and retrieve my music on my main computer.
I am very familiar with home sharing and have used it previously with other computers.
My iPad recognizes my laptop and I am able to access the library through my iPad; but on my laptop, the ipad doesn't show up on home sharing.
I cannot transfer back my music via USB either, it treats it like an iPod and won't let me put it back.
I have restarted EVERYTHING, restarted both devices, and relogged in - and no luck.
My laptop is my main computer and I'm dying to get my music back on it!
Does anyone have any solution to this problem?
Especially if I don't have to download something

Find my laptop and desktop not working from my phone (offline etc)

i feel like i have tried to read up on this eight or nine times and was looking at this again today.
is there a way to find my MACBOOKPRO or my Mac Pro from my IPHONE 5?
i have icloud set up on all my devices and i can get on to iCloud and see my iphone from my laptop (for instance) but when i try and log in to ICLOUD WEBSITE from my iPHone it asks me if i want to set up this device.
if i check in Settings > iCloud i see that i am in fact logged in.
if i click on the APPLICATION on my iPhone it shows me my PHone ("this device") but it says that my Laptop and my Desktop are "offline" even thought they are online (for instance i am posting to this forum now...).
can anyone help me with what i am missing here?

It sounds like you may be experiencing issues on your non iOS 8 devices because iOS 8 is required to set up or join a Family Sharing group.
The following information is located in the print at the bottom of the article.
Apple - iCloud - Family Sharing
Family Sharing requires a personal Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes. Music, movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are required to set up or join a Family Sharing group and are recommended for full functionality. Not all content is eligible for Family Sharing.

Just installed Mavericks on iMac and Messages not working properly

I just upgraded my iMac to OS X 10.9. Most everything is okay but Messages is acting weird. All the messages from one person, who has an iPhone and Messages now show up in green bubbles, which signifies SMS. Before the upgrade, they all showed correctly. They appear correctly on my new iPad which I just set up yesterday, on my iPhone (both running iOS 7) and on my MacBook Air which is still running OS X 10.8. I tried it with other people and some have the regular light grey bubble and one has a purple bubble. This is only happing on the just upgraded OS X 10.0 Now I saw this on MacRumors and it is obvious this happens to others. This is the supposed cause..

With Mavericks they let you choose your own color that you want people to see, but it randomly picks one for you from the start, until you change it. Click on the "viewing" tab in preferences and you can change the sender's color back to clear, or whatever you want it to be."
I checked and my iMac is set to Automatic. Is this what others are seeing?
