Flash Player Permanently asks Permission to install

I permanently get the following message: " Adobe Flash Player,   A website wants to open web content using this programme on your computer.  Allow/Don't allow."  This happens when I am using IE8.  I have to click on either of the two options (allow/don't allow) two or three times before it finally disappears and the web page opens.  Then as soon as I click on the web page to move to the next page, or to move to a fresh website, the message appears again, and the whole clicking process starts again.  Sometimes in addition the connection to the internet drops out too. This goes on as long as I am connected to the Internet.  Occasionally the Adobe message refers to Adobe Air
At one point I got on to an Adobe downloads page where I was informed that I had to download Version 10.2.  This was only possible manually, which I did and the computer now reports that I have Version 10, 2, 159,1.  But the problem still remains.
My OS is Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate, which has worked perfectly until this problem appeared out of the blue.    I have also tried using 32-bit, but it makes no difference.
I hope that I have given the relevant information.  Can anyone suggest a way out of this ?
Many thanks.

Hi, that sounds like a Security Warning from IE.  With Win7 you have various Settings. This link explains the UAC.
You can also list Adobe in your Trusted Zones.

Every time I open a certain program or game online my computer wants me to download the new version of Flash Player, the issue is that I have downloaded it and done everything the program needs me to do on my MAC. Then when I go to re-open the program/ game it says that I need to download it. I am now at a complete lost of what to do and can not use certain programs because of this issue. What should I do???

This is my 3rd time posting on here. I have not recieved any answers to my problem. Does anybody know why the Adobe Flash Player keeps asking me to install it again and again after I have installed it? It would be nice to get an answer for this.
It is very unlikely that you get an answer, as you do not provide any basic information.

  • Small pops up boxes asking permission to install flash player!!??

I play on a farm game, where everyday as a task we have to visit the friends farms to do some actions; for the last 7 or 8 months, everytime I go into one of those farms, a small box pops up asking permission to install  flashplayer, since I already got the Flash Player installed, I just click the deny permission option just for safe....  and I am really sick of keep getting it again and again, it doesn´t even have the logo or the corporative image of adobe products when that pops up little box comes up..  Is That a new way for hackers to try to get into our pc´s?? Are hackers trying to use the Flash Player name so we users let some crap get into our pc´s, thinking than it´s safe cause it has a known name?

To explain better about that pops up box, this is what it says :
    "Adobe Flash Player Settings
    Local Storage
    nameofthegamesite is
    requesting permission to
    store information on your
    computer.
    Requested: up to unlimited
    Currently Used: 1 kb
                Allow         Deny          "
I need to know if this message its genuine from adobe or what does it means, if i should allow?? please a light on this, thanks

  • I normally dont need a login when I install new program, but I try to Install a new flash player im asked to write a login and I have no clue? when I search for help it suggest to put in the original installation cd but that doesnt work. Please help!

When Trying to install the newest Flash player, Im asked to fill in my login.
I have no clue what my login is. (It happened very rarely that I was asked to fill in this when installing a new program, and the login I have used before are not valid now.

Please Help me If you have an idea for a solution to this problem!

You need the admin password you created when you first set up the machine.  Just about every installer running under OS X will require you to authorize the installation by entering an administrator password - even software update requires this.  You really should not forget your admin password, as it is required for many things in OS X since, unlike Windows, you often need to manually type in the admin password to proceed with an install or update (whereas Windows will take admin authority, if you are logged in as an admin, by simply clicking continue or yes).
If you cannot remember your admin password, you can reset it from the recovery CD that came with your mac - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274

  • Why does it keep asking me to install adobe flash player even after i have installed it once? Please help me

why does it keep asking me to install adobe flash player even after i have installed it once? Please help me.

No idea.  What did the folks on the Adobe forums say when you posted there, since it's Adobe's software you're having trouble with?

  • Flash Player 10.2 will not install - not same problem as Audrey below.

    Hi,
Using Win 7 home deluxe, was using Flash player no problem until the office had me uninstall it to fix another problem but now will not reinstall, keeps insisting on installing Mc Afee alongside it and then Mc Afee won't install correctly and won't allow Flash Player to install either.
Have repeatedly uninstalled the full Adobe free software suite, and Mc Afee and started from the beginning have tried using the 32 bit IE instead of thr 64 bit, when the window comes up showing the registration it only shows the Quit button will not let me use the Agree or Install button and again and again it keeps installing Mc Afee without being asked, I don't use or need Mc Afee as have Nortons.   I have also been turning off the norton antivrus while doing the installation as i know that can interfere with it.
been trying this on and off for some days now, multiple times, and I do need to get this fixed I would appreciate some advice thanks

I can't watch YouTube videos on my brand new MacBook Pro with Lion. It says I need to download Adobe Flash Player but that won't install. Help!

The same thing happens to me, Safari asks me to update the Adobe FlasPlayer, I download, start the installation process, ask me my username and password in order to install, then see a window where I choose if I want to always install the updates , or ask first, or not inslate updates, and at this point it is not progress, I can not cancel the process, I turn off and turn on my machine.
    What can I do ..??
    Regards.

  • Using my current ID and password I can sign in to Adobe. When I try to download the upgrade to Flash Player they ask for ID and password. When I put in my current one it is rejected. What causes this and how do I correct it?

Using my current ID and password I can sign in to Adobe. When I try to download the upgrade to Flash Player they ask for my ID and Password. When I insert my current ID and password it is rejected. How do I correct this problem? Is it an incorrect sign in from an old ID, and/or an old password associated with Flash Player?

The password prompt is supplied by the operating system, and is intended to protect you from accidentally installing software.  You will get this prompt for any installation outside the App Store context.
If you do not need to enter a username or password when starting your computer, you can probably just leave the password field blank when acknowledging this prompt.

  • Why does Flash Player Update ask for update preferences if it has no intention of retaining them?

I find it completely maddening that Flash Player Update asks me for my update preferences every time I update it.  Retain my preferences if you're going to ask for them.  Furthermore, I'm never going to install Mcafee, please provide me a way to disagree with their terms of service so you don't have to ask anymore.
    Thanks!

I also find this issue deeply frustrating. Every time Flash Player installs it asks again, and every time it's reset the option back to "Allow Adobe to install updates". Unless I'm mistaken, the only people who see this window are those who selected the "Notify me" option previously, so there's absolutely no reason why it should be reset every time.
Except that I assume the reason is because Adobe wants to trick those people who simply click-through into choosing the "Allow" option. I can understand the security motivation for persuading people to have updates installed automatically, but for anyone making an active choice to have notifications, it's actually very annoying, especially when it must have been a conscious policy decision by Adobe.
I've opened a feature request/bug on this as suggested: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3485588
Here's a screenshot of the offending window for reference:

Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder) from there
    Empty the trash
Mount the DMG and run the installer

  • I have a mac computer.  I am trying to install flash player but get the message "install adobe flash player wants to make changes.  Type your password to allow this." I do not use a password to open the computer.

I have a mac computer that uses no password.  When installing flash player I get the message "Install adobe flash player wants to make changes  Type your password to allow this.  I can't get past this message.

    Hi,
To change your password you will need to open System Preferences, then open Users & Groups, click on Change Password.  Change your password to a temporary one, then when you have finished you do the same procedure to change it back, by typing in the temp password then leaving the new password blank.  Hope this helps.

    renka,
When you uninstall and reinstall, it is always worth running the Cleaner Tool in between.

  • I'm being told I need to download Flash player even though I have installed the latest version

I'm using a Mac with Mac OS X, Version 10.7.5, with Safari 6.0.2 as my browser. I haven't had any problems with Flash player until today. Now suddenly, when I try to view Flash content, it tells me I need to download/install the latest version of Flash Player. However, I have installed it multiple times. I even uninstalled it and re-installed it, re-started my computer, etc, and it still won't work. What else can I try??

Does this happen with all Flash content?  Do you see the animation and version info when you go to this page?
    Flash Player Version
If not, please go into Safari's preferences dialog, the security tab, and verify that Enable Plug-Ins is checked.
    Thanks,
    Chris
