Flash Pop-Up Videos. Audio won't stop playing...

Hi. I am using a pop-up script to play some .flv videos on my
website. However, after you take the mouse off of the jpeg image
the video goes away, but the audio continues. Is there anything I
can put in my script to make the whole video stop playing? Is there
somekind of onmouseout tag or something that will stop the whole
thing?

Every time I've broken down and sent a question to the discussion board, I figure out the problem myself right afterwards. I worked at it for three days before submitting the question, then figured it out about 30 minutes later.
I was using INSERT - ANIMATION to insert the animation on a blank slide.
I found that what I SHOULD have been doing is using INSERT - OTHER SLIDES - ANIMATION SLIDE because that works beautifully.

Try to download the application VLC.
It is a media player that should be able to play any audio or video file you may have. If your videos play flawlessly using that application, then the issue is with iTunes and Quicktime, as they are both essentially similar software types when it comes to playing media.
In that case you may need to install a plug-in file called Perian, in order for the videos to play correctly within iTunes or at least Quicktime...

The "Tools" are in the old drop down menu, which are not shown by default in the new Firefox Design. To show this menu:
Firefox Menu > Customize
On the bottom left there will be Show/Hide Toolbars. The Menu will be listed here.

Flash media (youtube, video, etc) won't play when using Apple TV Airplay Display

I have a new Apple Tv. I have connected it to my tv and am using the tv as a second display from my iMac. The display works just fine, but if I try and play any flash based media, say a Youtube video, on my iMac while Airplay is on, it won't play.
Mind you, it isn't that I am not getting audio, it just won't play the video at all. I can even see the progress bar load fully, but it doesn't begin playing.
The second I turn Airplay off, the video will play.
This also happens with sites such as Soundcloud, and Tumblr audio posts.
Any ideas?

I connect to Airplay Display, I select apple tv, and either mirror display or extended desktop. Doesn't matter which, both have the problem.
Then, on my imac I try to play a video and it does not work. I can even hit play on a video, let it go, and THEN turn on Airplay and it will stop playing as soon as I do.

Audio from flv player won't stop playing

Hi, I have a swf loading in another swf that has a video player in it. When I remove the swf from the stage, the swf goes away but the audio from the swf keeps playing. Is there a way to tell that swf to stop playing from the parent swf?

I have a document class referencing a class that contains the video player. The reference for the class is called vPlayer and the reference to the actual component in vPlayer is myPlayer.
This is the code in my Document class that calls vPlayer:

Audio Won't Stop when Previewing

So, I have a 3 minute mp3 file on my stage; the idea is to provide background music for my animation. So I go to preview the animation, and everything works fine, until I stop the preview. Then the audio keeps playing on and on. If I hit the preview again, obviously the music starts up again, and then won't stop, in a vicious circle of death that has me fleeing from the room.
To make it clear, I'm not previewing the audio file, I'm previewing the entire animation with the audio file on the stage. Thank you for your help!

Okay, I solved it myself but I thought I'd post the solution here for newbies like myself who can't seem to locate anything useful in Adobe's help systems.
When you set up an audio file, import it into your Library and not the stage. Set up a layer for your background music, add a keyframe (name it something appropriate, and then in the frame properties, you can set a sound.
Under "name" select the audio file you imported. The other important bit is to select "stream" under Sync. This will make the audio play only when and where the movie plays. Handy.

"AU audio file player" stops playing after a few seconds

Hi there,
i use "AU audio file player" in my concert set up.
It worked fine til yet, but now it just stops playing after a few seconds.
The track is 3 minutes, but it stops suddenly.
I tried to reload the tracks and tried loading the "AU audio fle player" into a new session,
but it still stops playing in any of the sets.
Any idea?

I did not find a way to trigger it from the keyboard...
So I decided the following: I made a short cut for QuicKeys which opens the AUAudioFilePlayer and starts the loop I need. A quick solution which works with just hitting one key on the computer and the loop player starts. This works pretty well with QuicKeys but not with MS, the problem: sometimes when I choose by double clicking the AUAudioFilePlayer a black window shows up and only the name is readable, nothing else. I have to close it, reopen it and then- perhaps- the AU shows up and I can push the play button. Do you now that problem?

Lumia 900 Bluetooth won't stop playing music

If I want to have my phone available for handsfree calls and hear the directional prompts using Nokia Drive in my 2011 Acura TSX (not tech package) I have to have the audio set to Bluetooth Audio. But when I do that the Music app automatically starts and plays music. I can turn it off (using the Stop the Music app), but it comes back on after a few seconds. How can I make it stop playing music?

Thanks for posting and welcome.
Nokia Drive voice navigation does not use or support Bluetooth as audio channel. If you are able to hear navigation through Bluetooth this might indicate an incompatibility between your car system and the Lumia. This may also indicate that your car system is possibly sending control signals over Bluetooth causing the playback of audio to start.
I'd suggest you verify this by connection to a different car system to see if you can recreate this behaviour there. You might also want to contact a Nokia Care Point or the Nokia Care Line (by voice, mail or chat) for further assistance. You can find them through the Contact us section on this page.

Synth won't stop playing!

I tried searching for solutions but to my dismay I could not find one.
For some reason, one of the synths in the project I'm working on just will not stop playing, long after the bar has ended. It holds out the last note and will not stop until I either mute it or stop the track.
During the midi sequence, I used the sustain pedal but I don't know how to edit the sustain as I can't get it to show in the piano roll. Even then, how could the sustain pedal make it hold the last note on forever?
My question is, why is this occuring and how do I get it to end reasonably? It seems to be a decay problem - it's just not ending. Looking forward to your reply!

In the Piano Roll open the Hyper Draw view. Here you can edit the sustain CC. Also in the Event List you can edit control messages.
Check the note length does not extend far beyond the end of the region too.

IDVD won't stop playing slideshow in beginning

I have just created a DVD using iDVD. I placed just two videos in the chapter menu. I also placed a slide show in the beginning. the problem is the slideshow in the beginning seems to loop endlessly and it does not go to the chapters view after a slideshow. Is there a way to do it? Also is there a way or an option where i can let all the videos in my iDVD project play simultaneously one after the other? like in a real DVD, you can watch by chapters and you can watch all... I want to have both options: play separately as chapters and play all.
I am using iDVD 06 btw.

ok getting more confused a bit here
the first box on top is what i click to make the slideshow... the one that does not go to the next box below, which is the chapter box marker. I just dragged pictures to the first box and it became a slideshow.
question 1: are you saying that I am not suppose to make a slide show on the top box?
question 2: are you saying that when i am in the second box below, the chapter view, i should not place something in the drop box there? how will i add the movie then?
In the themes, there are main chapters and extras and aside from these there are drop zones in each of them. am i supposed to use all of them?
What I did:
the top box i made a slide show
then proceeded to the chapter menu and placed the videos there.
then i burned the project.

Some flash video/audio won't play

Hello, I'm using 10.6.7 and the lastest Flash plugin.
I've troubles with playback some flash video and audio in all browsers: Safari, Firefox 4, Chrome.
For example, Soundcloud.com works fine, but as a widget on other web-sites it doesn't work. Youtube and Vimeo — perfect, but BBC's videos won't play (ex., http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13054205).
Any ideas?

Your link works fine for me in Safari.
Check your "extensions" (browser add ons) for your browsers. Some may conflict.

Audio from video won't stop playing in the background

I have series of youtube/mp4 videos on the timline and navigation to go to different timeline navigation points.
When I play the video it works fine but when I click on my navigation to go to another navigation point the audio still plays in the background.
I made sure to turn off my content dropzone by each point but it still plays. the only way that it stops is when I manually hit pause or stop before clicking my navigation.
Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?

1. Should I be importing audio files into the Library and
putting them on a layer in the Flash file?
2. When I do this, the .swf doesn't sound very good. I am
starting with wav files.
3. The sound file on the timeline will play from beginning to
end even if the user clicks a button directing him to another frame
(with another sound). Then there are two sound files playing at the
same time. If you're a fast clicker, you can really get wild.

Should or shouldn't depends on how you plan to use your sound
- so many types of sounds can be used
for so many different reasons in flash (looping backgrounds,
soundtracks, button rollOvers, etc...).
So to answer this, one would need to know what the sound is
and how you plan to use it.

You should read some of the help files in regards to sound in
flash and publish settings. Flash uses
Mp3 compression and by default the compression is set very
high. You simply need to adjust this for
the best trade-off on file size and quality.

That's because sound is set to Event (Properties Panel) by
default and flash basically sends it to
your sound card and forgets about it. To stop it hit your ESC
key. If you are trying to animate in
sync with the sound, set it to Stream (properties Panel).
