Flash sliding menu

Dear all,
I am not very familiar in flash code, please help me.
I want to create some slide navigation type something like this http://www.newtonclients.com/swf/today.html
Please help me how can i create this.

You will need to search Google to try to find a tutorial that you can learn from and modify to suit your needs.  Search using terms like "AS3 sliding image tutorial" and "AS3 sliding menu tutorial"
When you find some you will see how complicated such designs can be and why it is unlikely anyone will walk you thru it step by step.

  • Is there any effortless way to create accordion or sliding menu instead of incommodious AS3.0 Classes?

For a simple accordion menu design in flash we have to writting classes that requires advanced knowledge in writting object oriented as3.0.
But in javacsript we can make an accordion menu with jquery in just a minute.
Is there any effortless way to create accordion or sliding menu instead of incommodious AS3.0 Classes?
I have found classes for this animations that very hard to learn.
    Thanks in advance

You can probably find a premade AS3 accordian menu that you can adpat fairly easily without having to create all of the AS3 code that plays the role that the jquery end of the code does. Here's one that may be useful (?) http://www.blog.noponies.com/archives/39

  • Sliding menu problems HELP!

I am trying to create a sliding menu in Flash 8 and am not
very adept at actionscripting yet. I have been watching all the
tutorials i can find and reading them as well. I have this file
    uploaded here :
    http://www.geocities.com/zflategraff/flash.swf
Basically what im trying to do is have the menu hidden behind
the main whote area andd have only the tab showing. the tab has an
open/close button on it and thats what i want it to be able to do
is when the user clicks on it and it is hidden, it slides out. When
it is out and is clicked it slides back.
I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me!

turn the menu into a movieClip- put it on a layer beneath the
main interface- use actionscript to tween it to x/y position so
it's behind the main interface onRelease of your open/close button.
-you'll need to use an onEnterFrame action to show/hide a
mask over it so that your buttons will still work inside the
    movieClip.

As you observed, Encore's Library panel categorizes the items. Your movie reel is obviously a small PSD file that Encore somehow imported as a menu (I have no idea how this occurred - it's not clear from your description).
If I were you, I'd read the documentation again and begin with an actual menu. If the menus available are unsuitable, then you'll want to design your own in Photoshop. Again, all the information you need to do this in Encore's Help files.

    writeonme,
Basically you need to create a movie clip that contains your
menu that is masked to only show up when one of the main buttons is
clicked. The menu movie clip would have two important keyframes...
a closed frame where the menu is to the left of the mask... and an
open frame where the menu is under the mask and visible. A tween in
between these frames would make the menu slide out. A third
keyframe would have the menu returned to starting position, with a
tween there too for the retracting action of the menu. Each
keyframe has a stop action. You could then write ActionScript to
make the menu respond to clicks on the main menu. A click on a main
menu example would play the menu movie clip, causing it to slide
out... A click of a button on menu could then cause the menu to
    slide back.
    Does that help?

  • Need help with Flash Dock Menu

    Hi guys,
I'm trying to build a dock menu componant for my website in CS3. I've seen loads of them out there but they all seem to only stop scrolling when the mouse is moved in to the center of the movie - I want to build one exactly like the one in the link below, where the mouse will stop scrolling once the mouse is settled over the image you want to select.
    http://www.mtoolcomponents.com/flash-slideshow/flash-dock-menu.html
I even want to create something a bit simpler where there are no reflections and the images don't get bigger on rollover.
Does anyone know of a tutorial or know how I can achieve this?
Thank you very much and I hope to hear from you.
    SM

I am trying to create the menu. I have figured out how to
create the extra button as well as where I will need to change the
link for each button but if you download the menu from above (link
included in previous post) you will notice that the first two
buttons are mimicking each other. I need the second option to be
FAQs independent of the first home button

  • CS3 Flash Help Menu

I don't comment much, I tend to be the quiet kind of user
that just does my own thing. I am quite upset with Adobe's change
in the help feature in Flash. I understand that things change with
updates. That's a reason i get work sometimes. Someone wants to
    update.
I so loved the large amount of useful code and examples
buried in the Help files in previous versions of Flash. Through
these i could riddle my why through a problem. Multiple examples of
how to use something was often the only way to figure out what I
    was trying to do.
Are those days now long gone? I hope not. I am not a
programmer, but i do have some programming experience. I am a web
designer. i prefer not to live in binary, classes and the like.
Often these samples worked as idea starters, and answers to late
night prayers when the oil had been burning all too long. You know,
when your head gets fuzzy and you need to go to bed but the project
    has to be done....
Well I don' t mean to be the whiner, but is there anything
that can be done about this?
I know there are some samples in there, I flipped through it
for a while, but i feel the quality of the Help menu in Flash has
dropped dramatically. The new neat features in the Help menu and
the nice skin don't measure up to the loss in content. I plan on
working with MX by my side so i can use its Help features, because
CS3 doesn't look like it will do the job.
    Anyone else want to comment?
    Thanks,
    mr_bidinkle

I found this thread through a search.
Has Flash help menu been savaged to leave only two headings??
I only have the following two main headings in my Help Menu:
    Using Actionscript 2.0 Components
    Actionscript 2.0 Components Language Reference
I have bought the Rich Media Project Player and List
Component and they said their help file is also installed.
I cannot see that here either.
Whats going on? Can an Adobe person answer this for
    me??

  • IE+Vista+Flash context menu lockout

    Hi there experts,
I'm tinkering with the mic activity AS3 stuff (although this
    is a general
flash question). This issue happens whether the .fla is
    trying reading the
mic or not though. On IE+XP I can right click to get context
    menu up, then
    select allow mic access fine.
On IE+Vista the menu comes up, but all the tabs and buttons
    are partially or
totally unresponsive! It's like the browser is blocking mouse
    clicks or
something. I can't set mic to allow access, even though the
    mic can be seen
to be read on the activity level meter on the context menu.
Has anyone else had this problem? I can't seem to google for
    the exact issue
    so far.
    Many thanks
    Richard Smith

I found out part of the problem myself in the end.
Wacom Tablet on Vista+IE. Clicks on browser fine. Clicks on
    Flash stage
fine. Clicks on some Flash context menu buttons blocked.
    Using a mouse on
    the same system worked fine.
May be a Wacom driver issue? But still very odd behavior!
    Thanks
    Richard Smith

  • Animating MCs on a sliding menu panel

I have a site with a sliding menu panel and I need MCs on
that panel to animate (expand) when the MC appears in the center

the center. (stop on frame 1, 10 frame tween expand w.stop, 10
frame tween to contract w. gotoandPlay1.)
Should I set up an if then for the values of the _x.

  • Dynamic Sliding Menu

Does anyone know how I'd achieve something like this in Muse?
    http://www.visualarms.com/store/sites/mobilemenus/sliding-menu.html
    Thanks!

Not exactly there, but you could achieve something like that through the Featured News widget.
On a quick attempt, here's what I get through Muse. As that's a mobile site, so I used the Mobile layout.
    http://myccmecommerce.businesscatalyst.com/phone/Untitled-7.html
The menu constantly being there is an advantage I would say rather than the user making another tap everytime just to navigate to the menu.
The only settings I changed in the Featured News widget (other than the triggers and target positioning of course) are as indicated in the screenshot below.
