Flash Update via SCUP Problem

Hello,
I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers.
Fortunately Adobe provides an SCCM Update Catalog for both Adobe Flash ActiveX and Adobe Flash Plugin.
But now my Problem:
After publishing the Update via SCCM, the client is not supposed to be interfered with the Update Progress (which is working)
I figured the Updater works like this:
First SCCM checks if a Update needs to be deployed, if this is the case, The Flash Updater begins.
First the old Flash Version is beeing uninstalled.
But now: if the Client has a Browser Window (IE, or Firefox) open, the Updater is not able to install the new Flash Version and quits with an Error.
This leaves the Client PC without any Flash (because its being uninstalled before)
How can I prevent Flash being uninstalled due to the Update progress not working while a Browser window is open?
Thank you very much!
Sincerely Martin

• Adobe Reader 11 Update via SCUP

Hi all,
i'm updating Adobe Reaer via SCCM and SCUP and the published catalogs from Adobe.
When importing the updates i do not see the MUI Update for Version 11.0.5, but the not MUI Version is available.
is this update published later what do i wrong?
Thanks a lot

I'm a bit sorry, I've used the non MUI version for deployment, it was the German 11.0.04 Package.
11.0.05 Deployment via SCUP was done without any problems.
I tried "msiexec /update AdbeRdrUpd11006.msp" with Logging Option and this is the output (It's a bit in german I hope its not a problem):

• Flash Updates Via AD Login Scripts

Does anyone have any suggestions on applying Flash updates to
network computers using Active Directory batch file login scripts?
Also, we need to figure out how to detect if the application
exists, install it if it does, or not to install it if it does not.
Also, how will the patch know if it's even applicable?
Of course this would apply to Shockwave Player as well.
Thanks

• Adobe Updates via SCUP

I am attempting to push out updates for Adobe products using SCUP but am running into a strange issue when clients attempt to install them.
The clients all see that flash player 11.9.900.170 is available and a required update based on the version currently installed, however when they attempt to install the update, UpdatesDeployment.log reports error 0x80240017 indicating the update is not applicable.
I thought maybe it was due to the version the clients were currently on (11.7.x.x) so I manually updated a couple to another version (11.9.900.117 then 11.9.900.152 when that failed) to see if that would make a difference, but every time it was the same
result.
Has anyone experienced this/found a solution?

I have seen issues with the rules multiple times. Open the Flash Player package in SCUP and verify that the detection rules are correct.

Anyone else seen issues with this update getting stuck on "Installing"?  Followed usual procedure, deployed to around 5,000 client but seeing the number of clients reporting in as CU4 growing very slowly and reports of it being stuck in

• Flash update resulting in problems.

While playing an online game (ForgeofEmpires by Inno.games) I had to download and install the latest version of Flash (11.8.800.94).  After doing this the game loads with what looks like a menu and will not allow a clean login, also yahoo loads with a menu overlay or underthe page but goes away when refreshed.  Is this a conflict of settings with another program on my computor, a problem with Flash or a Problem with incompatable versions of Flash?  Looking forward to a response.

It depends on your settings, but Flash Player always asks me to install an update by showing a window outside Safari which allows me to download the most recent Flash Player version. As we do not have the link you visited in order to download the update, we do not know if it was legit, but you did the right thing, so there is nothing to be worried about

• Updating Flash Player ActiveX / Plugin via SCUP / SCCM

Hello,
I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers, mostly with Windows 7 x64.

Exactly the same issue here (see http://forums.adobe.com/message/6285043#6285043). We have stopped the deployment of that package since nearly every second client is affected by this. It seems that the installation package does uninstall the flash player ocx (both 32-bit and 64-bit), but does not install the new version.
I remember there was a bug at the beginning of this year, where the install package did install the new version, but marked it as "failed" in SCCM software center.. Just a few days later there was a new package in SCUP with the same version number...

• Cannot publish Flash Updates Verification of file signature failed for file SCUP 2011, SCCM 2012 R2 and WSUS all on same Windows Server 2012 machine

I am attempting to distribute Adobe Flash updates using SCUP 2011, SCCM 2012 R2, WSUS ver4 and Windows Server 2012.  Everything installs without error.  I have acquired a certificate for SCUP signing from the internal Enterprise CA.  I have
verified the signing certificate has a 1024 bit key.  I have imported the certificate into the server's Trusted Publishers and Trusted Root CA stores for the computer.  When I attempt to publish a Flash update with Full content I receive the following
error:
2015-02-13 23:00:48.724 UTC Error Scup2011.21 Publisher.PublishPackage PublishPackage(): Operation Failed with Error: Verification of file signature failed for file:

I have redone the certificates three times with no luck.  I can import metadata, but any attempt to download content results in the verification error.
TIA

Hi Joyce,
This is embarrassing, I used that very post as my guide when deploying my certificate templates, but failed to change the bit length to 2048.  Thank you for being my second set of eyes.
I changed my certificate key bit length to 2048, deleted the old cert from all certificate stores, acquired the a new signing cert, verified the key length was 2048, exported the new cert to pfx and cer files, imported into my Trusted publishers
and Trusted Root Authorities stores, reconfigured SCUP to use the new pfx file, rebooted the server and attempted to re-publish the updates with the following results:
2015-02-16 13:35:44.006 UTC Error Scup2011.4 Publisher.PublishPackage PublishPackage(): Operation Failed with Error: Verification of file signature failed for file:
\\SCCM\UpdateServicesPackages\a2aa8ca4-3b96-4ad2-a508-67a6acbd78a4\3f82680a-9028-4048-ba53-85a4b4acfa12_1.cab.
Is there a chance this content was already created and signed with the old cert, so installing the new cert has no effect?  In ConfigMgr software updates I see 4 Flash updates, all marked Metadata Only (because they were originally published as "Automatic."
No Flash updates in the ConfigMgr console are marked as downloaded.  I can't find any documentation on how the process of using SCUP for downloading content for an update marked Metadata Only actually works.
Comments and suggestions welcome.

• With the latest flash update and on firefox 13 when I scroll on pages with youtube videos or other flash content it become corrupted.

When I actually play the videos it's fine, the issue only occurs with still images. This doesn't show up with vimeo videos.

This does not occur with other browsers with the latest flash update.
The problem also shows up even with add-ons disabled and testing it with a new profile.
Does anybody have an idea with how to fix this, or is it a problem on adobe's end?

I've fixed the problem by installing the older version of Flash Player (v11.2.202.235).
- First, download the uninstaller from [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html here].
- Close your browser(s).
- Run uninstaller and remove flash player.
- After the uninstall process, download and install the old version from [http://www.oldapps.com/flash_player.php here].
Note: Download "Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235 (Non-IE)" if you are using 32 bit OS
Or
Download "Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235 (x64) (Non-IE)" for 64 bit OS.

• Reader SCUP problem - detection logic issue?

Sorry about crossposting, but frankly the Adobe forum navigation is atrocious, so when I originally posted this to the general Reader forum, I was unaware that this forum even existed.
Anyway...
I'm starting to test the deployment of Reader updates via SCUP.
What I'm seeing is that Config Manager says I have X number of clients that require Reader 11.0.n - fine.
It seems confused about what systems need which update, though.  E.g. it says that my workstation requires 11.0.2, 11.0.5, and 11.0.8 even though I'm actually running 11.0.10.
SCUP 2011, SCCM 2012 SP1
Anyone know what's going on/what I need to look for, here?

...or maybe it didn't actually downgrade.  Hard to tell.
Help-->About says it's 11.0.08.  Programs and Features says it's 11.0.08.  SCCM report says it's 11.0.08.
Properties of AcroRd32.exe say it's 11.0.10.32.
So the actual executable is the right version, but parts of the product itself are confused at to what version it is.  Maybe some of the other 192 files are the wrong version, but Adobe only knows.

• We got a Flash update yesterday, 11/12/11, and now FF runs slow and needs a "Force Quit" to quit. Help!

That's pretty much the details. I can't be sure the Flash update caused the problem because Safari runs fine with the same update. This happened once before after a system update. Opening Safari the last time cured it. Not this time!

Thanks Hans for the suggestion, but I do not own a copy of DiskWarrior. I think that because I don't own any disk utilities other than what are on the OS X install disk, I will try those tools for now. The archive and install function sounds a little nerve wrecking- I'm guessing it means it will archive any user files, and overwrite any system files? Because I can't boot the computer I am not able to backup some of my recent work before doing this. Should I expect the wost when doing this- or have people used this function without the loss of any files?
UPDATE: The person who is letting me use their computer found a DW utility and they are currently waiting for the files so I can copy them to a CD. It is labeled as DW 4 and the .rar says it will create a bootable cd. Should I hold of on any action until the DW disc is ready? I guess there is a chance the file will not be complete, or be a fake- I will be extracting it and burning the disc on a PC.....

• SCUP flash updates show up as 0 required and 0 installed although they are needed

We have a problem in sccm2012\software updates. We have imported Flash, Acrobat and Reader updates from SCUP 2011.
Reader updates works perfectly and are shown with "Required" and "Installed" numbers, but when it comes to Flash and Acrobat it says 0 for both. The only thing that shows is "Percent Compliant".
I have modified the detection rules to go for files instead of registry settings but it doesnt make a difference
Tried Google until my eyes bleed without finding anything like this.
Is there anyone out there that has a clue what the problem is???
The only thing else i could come up with is certificate problem but then shouldnt Reader updates work....
Regards Thomas

It shows 65% for ActiveX and 79% for plugin and there is no chance that so many have that version (223).
I havent distributed it as a packet yet because i wanted it to work with SCUP and automatic update is disabled via mms.cfg
I tried to run some reports to see the actual figures and it turned out that the reports are blank for software. I dont get any results at all. For other than Software it works fine.
So now i have to start to see what the problem is with software reporting........

• Efi update via usb flash drive?

I would like to know if there is a way to perform an efi update via a usb flash drive?

tried the latest 2010 build, got the same problem: 'missing operating system' and again in ubuntu the flash drive is an unknown filesystem.
tried again on a different computer and got the same error.. how frustrating!
edit: just to clarify i used the following command 'sudo dd if=path/to/image.img of=/path/to/device' i also changed directory to where the image file is and tried again without absolute referencing the path for 'if=' both of which returned that the command had been completed successfully in terminal.
edit: tried using again with a different USB stick (Maxell 4GB), again terminal returned 'x amount of files successfully copied to sdc1'.
.. something different happened this time, i didn't get the same error as before, instead the text 'grub' appears with a blinking cursor. nothing else.
