Flash video autoplay

I am attempting to put a Flash video banner on a page without
a skin that will play 1 time automatically upon loading, then stop
at the last frame. When I insert it as a Flash video, it works
fine, but I have a skin which I don't want. I attempted to edit out
code that refers to the skin, but it just breaks the playback. As I
understand, I need to embed the video into a .swf file to avoid
using skins - true? When I do this, it plays locally just fine, but
on the server it doesn't go beyond the 1st frame. Do I need to do
something in Flash to make it autoplay or is there a parameter in
DW that I need to change?

I have the same problem! Please, help us!

  • Stop flash video from autoplaying??

    My Flash 8 videos are autoplaying, despite having <param
    name="play"
    value="false" /> and <embed src="video1.swf"
    play="false" loop="false" etc
    etc set in the HTML - can anyone help? The page has a number
    of flash videos
    on it that people want to watch one after the other - it's
    not good that
    they all start playing immediately! I would like them to
    appear, but paused
    on frame 1, and they can then be played as necessary.
    Cheers,
    D.

    click on the FLVplayback component and open the component
    inspector. Set autoplay to false.

  • Flash Video / XHTML

    When I use the Insert > Media > Flash Video function in
    Dreamweaver CS3, the code that is automatically generated does not
    validate as XHTML. The errors are mainly in the code I have copied
    below.
    Here are some of the errors I get when I try to validate the
    code with W3C:
    1) S separator in comment declaration
    2) Invalid comment declaration: found name start character
    outside comment but inside comment declaration.
    3) Character "<" is the first character of a delimiter but
    occurred as data.
    4) Cannot generate system identifier for general entity
    "MM_ComponentVersion".
    5) general entity "MM_ComponentVersion" not defined and no
    default entity.
    6) reference not terminated by REFC delimiter.
    7) general entity "skinName" not defined and no default
    entity
    8) cannot generate system identifier for general entity
    "streamName".
    9) general entity "autoPlay" not defined and no default
    entity.
    etc etc
    Is this to do with the deprecated <embed> tag? How do I
    get around this? The video plays fine on the latest versions of IE,
    FireFox, Safari and Opera.
    Many thanks,
    Sue

    <embed> is not deprecated. It's invalid HTML. It was
    never part of the
    HTML specification.
    There are a number of ways around these warnings, and you can
    'cloak' the
    code so that the validator never sees it, but I just ignore
    them. It's very
    easy to do after you've had the first few cups of coffee.

  • Removing menu from Flash video in Dreamweaver

  • Buffering Problem with Flash Videos

    We are having problems with the buffering of newly published FLASH videos (rendered using Premiere/Flash CS6 and using Windows 8 and explorer/firefox/chorme).   Non-Flash Videos appear to buffer fine.
    An example of this problem can be seen at http://healthwatchusa.org/HWUSA-Presentations-Testimony/20130215-KY-House/20130214-kavanag h.htm

    1.Default of bufferTime is 0.1 seconds. Try to set the value higher and see if that solves your problem.
    2.If you set your component to autoplay, you could get rid of it and start the player if the VideoEvent.READY is fired
    3.If you have any code inside your swf that tries to communicate with other domains you should set the "allowScriptAccess" value inside your html container from "sameDomain" to "always"

    actually, i can see in that code that you do still have wmode
    transparent stuff in there. if you look just a little before
    the ending
    script tag, you'll see some. and then it's also in one of the
    parameter
    tags. in fact, you have the wmode=transparent parameter tag,
    but not the
    one that the instruction i gave you said to put in! actually,
    it doesn't
    look like you followed the instructions i gave you at all! at
    least not

    i think your best bet might be to just delete the video from
    the page
    (your code is too messed up for me to figure it out, sorry)
    and

  • Allow embedded flash video to be maximised to fill the screen

    I want the user to be able to click a Full Screen button like YouTube so that the video fills the whole screen.
    I think this is done by using the code allowFullScreen but I can't get this to work.
    Here is my code:
    <div align="center">
      <embed src="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" flashvars="&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Clear_Skin_3&streamName=video1&autoPlay=true&a utoRewind=true&allowFullScreen=true" quality="high"   scale="scale" width="948" height="596" name="FLVPlayer" salign="LT" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
    </div>
    Any ideas how to fix this?

    Flash is dead.  Nobody uses Flash video anymore; not even YouTube because mobile and tablet devices can't support it.  The trend now is to use HTML5 video which is supported by all modern web devices.  In addition, HTML5 video has default player and control bar which supports full screen mode (icon with 4 arrows).  So no 3rd party player is required.
    To give you an example, copy & paste this code into a new, blank document.  SaveAs video_test.html and preview in browsers.

  • Flash Video Skin Not Loading in Firefox

    Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble with a Flash
    Video file. I'm helping a friend out by doing some work on his
    webpage. He had a video that he wanted to put up on his news page,
    so I converted the video to an flv and used the flv player
    component to make a video player linked it. I uploaded the skin's
    swf file, the player's swf file, and the flv to the same directory.
    I made an iframe pointing to the player.swf file in the news
    section of the site. I tested it in IE; it works like a charm.
    Video loads, skin loads, and it plays etc... but in any version of
    firefox, only the video loads and just sits there (autoplay is
    off). What can the problem be? Link : (should work in IE, not
    FIREFOX
    Here .
    Once you can recover from the reporter's amusing slack-jawed mug,
    please help me out!

    Actually, this occurred to me later this afternoon, but I use Gentoo, which normally builds from source (cuz I am hardcore like that). I uninstalled the normal build and reinstalled the prebuilt binary and everything works. I am happy again and just need to play around with the source build options, which I can do later.
    Thanks!

  • How to *not* automatically download flash video

    Hi,
    I can't get my Flash video to *not* start downloading when I access my page.
    The problem page is - http://www.camerawallihpictures.com/reel.php
    There are six videos on this page.  When I access it, all the videos start to download - the progress bar on all videos shows the downloading.
    They don't start playing, they just download.
    Does anyone know how to stop this?
    Thanks in advance for you help!
    Josh

    Thanks for your interest.
    Yes, the flvplayback compenent.
    I created the flv file with adobe media encoder, then went through the standard File > Import > Import Video method.
    I've set both the autoPlay parameter to false and set the HTML Publish Setting "Paused at Start" to false.
    Note - Even though automatically *playing* is not really the problem, I've set both those to 'false'.  Actually, the autoPlay functionality works properly for me whether true or false.
    I'm using CS5.

  • Flash video into Dreamweaver 5.5

    I'm not a web designer but, I'm trying to keep cost down by building my own web site.  So, I'm re-building my website with Dreamweaver 5.5.  I'm using 5 flash videos to discribe what I do.  I made the movies and edited the movies in Final Cut Pro  and saved it as a quicktime movie.  Then I took the QT movie to Adove Media Encoder 5.5 chancing it to an FLV
    Here is my problem.  I place it using "Insert, media, FLV".  I set the size and all the junk to have it play then click, OK.  In the code I get "Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player."  I have the newest version on my computer.   When I check "LIVE VIEW"  I don't have the video.  I uploaded the page to my website and it only shows my placeholders as a white box.
    The ohter issue is that I used a spry menu bar for all my pages.  In the "LIVE VIEW" and looking at it in "preview" Safari it looks great.  When I up loaded it some of the text is bold (the way I wanted it) and some as plane text.  you can see all the problems at digitalmontagefilms.com
    I'm using Cyberduck because I can't get connected using Dreamweaver to yahoo.

    Hi; I fixed the spry problem>  This is the code for the memories page.

  • Putting keyframe in flash video

    I need to put a key frame in an .flv file
    More specifically, I'm just converting a video into FLV using the Adobe Media Encoder. I'm primarily a web designer, not a video guy, I've always just used the built in Insert FLV function in Dreamweaver to put Flash Video in. However, when autoplay is off I need to know how to control what frame shows up on the front of the video before it starts playing. Thanks!

    I think what you want is called a "poster frame" and as far as I know there isn't any way to do that when creating an FLV. If there is I'd love to hear about it.
    You could either edit the original so that it has one frame at the beginning or take a screen shot from your moving, bring it into flash and write some code to have it show over the flv player and then go away when the movie starts.
    If anybody else knows something more...

  • Flash Video not showing

    Hi I converted a Quick time movie to Flash video using Flash Video Encoder CS3. When I insert the flash video in Dreamweaver and preview the page with Firefox or IExporer it doesn't show up. I can preview using Safari. Any ideas why the video won't show in Firefox or IExplorer? I even updated the Flashplayer plugins but it didn't work.

    Thanks for the reply, it isn't uploaded anywhere just on my local machine for now. All I did was start a new blank HTML page in Dreamweaver CS3, insert, media, flash video. Chose the file, no space or special characters in the name, all lower case. It show the grey box where the video should be. I press f12, the default is firefox, no video. Try previewing in IExplorer no video, try Safari video works. All files are in the same directory.

  • Flash video with controller in iWeb

    I've figured out how to add a flash video on my site using iWeb, but I want to add a controller and remove autoplay. Help please????
    I've posted the embedded code below and the site address. Thanks in advance for your help.

    <object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000" id="obj1" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/ flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" border="0" width="320" height="250"><param name="movie" value="http://www.lazymoneynetwork.com/FlashFiles/UtahRentalSolutions.swf"><par am name="quality" value="High"><embed src="http://www.lazymoneynetwork.com/FlashFiles/UtahRentalSolutions.swf" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="obj1" width="320" height="250"></object>

    Hi!
    I am trying really hard to do what you are trying to get rid of!
    I am new to iWeb and know very little about what coding is, but am trying to get this to happen...
    1) have "welcome" page automatically play a very short 2 or 3 second full screen video (heavily compressed I guess?)
    2) As soon as the video ends, the actual, static, welcome screen opens / shows itself.
    That's it!
    But I have no idea as to how to make it happen. Can I copy and paste the code you have in your message? I would really, really appreciate any and all help you can offer.
    Thanks!

  • Problems inserting Flash video

    I'm updating a colleague's site. In one of his pages he has a
    Flash video embedded. The code he uses is
    <embed src="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" width="342"
    height="291" align="left"
    flashvars="&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Halo_Skin_3&streamName=swf/AirMilesTVad_NEW&au toPlay=false&autoRewind=true"
    quality="high" scale="noscale" name="FLVPlayer" salign="LT"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" />
    This works on his page in IE but not in Firefox.
    I tried putting the code into my page, with the relevant
    Flash file in a subfolder and it didn't work in any browser. It
    just put up a blank space the size of the video. I abandoned that
    and tried using the DW menu Insert > Media > Flash video. The
    dialog box asked me to browse for the URL of the swf file. But
    whenever I OK that, it comes up with 'the URL cannot contain spaces
    or special characters. Please enter it again.' I've tried putting
    it in the same folder as the page, and renaming it so there are no
    underscores or uppercase letters, but it still comes up with the
    same message.
    Both pages, the new and the old, link to
    AC_runActiveContent.js; both pages are ASP files. I'm using DW
    8.0.2.
    Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    Give us a link to the page, please.
