FlashPlayer13 failures on Mac 10.6.8

I have a Mac Pro and have been using Flash Player 12 for a while with no problems .
to night I downloaded and install Flash Player13 and have had no luck getting it to work on any site so far .
In Safari at Youtube I get the following message " plug-in flaiure " , on other sites I get " plug-in blocked " and on Yahoo I get " Flash Player crash " .
so I tried Firefox at Youtube I get " The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed "

Thanks for letting me know that the Beta version does not work either .
I have gone back to 12.0.0.77 there is links for it on the noticed for All Mac users thread .
Further to that the un-install app does not delete the Flash Player Install Manager folder .
So I did manually .
you can check to see if it still onboard by looking in the adobe folder located in :-
Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
Open the Adobe folder it should be empty , if not , trash the "Flash Player install Manager" folder .
Then empty trash and reboot .
Then install the DL version 12.0.0.77
I did try the 12.0.0.55 version it didn't work .
the 12.0.0.77 works just fine , things back to normal
I guess all us old Macs users well have to wait for a bit longer .

Hardware or Software failure? Mac Book Pro

I got my Macbook Pro last year in October. It is a MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10). It came with mavericks. Right after I was offered to upgrade to Yosemite and in my inexperience with Macs I just went for it. Then I realized that many features I saw in my friends' Macs were gone in Yosemite, so I went back to Mavericks. But then again I reverted to Yosemite because iCloud drive was only available with this OS X.
I ended up getting Microsoft office for Mac because the Apple suite Pages and such lack so many features that were present in older versions, but at least with Yosemite I could use iCloud drive.
But now, after the last update to Yosemite iCloud drive is just working like nuts, deleted folders keep reappearing, files or folders get duplicated multiple times, and other folders are emptied without notice, files just gone!. I created another Apple ID and this a new iCloud account to which I added just a couple folders to see if it worked better, but almost immediately one of the files in the them was duplicated 5 times.
As a result I abandoned iCloud and went to Google Drive and I am pretty happy with it. What I am not happy with is spending lots of money in a Mac only to end up using Microsoft, Google and other third party apps because Apple seems to be messing up big time, and going by what I read from countless customers it seems they cannot care less about what customers like or want or need.
Now the new issue. After the update to 10.10.3 not only iCloud has gone insane. Safari is slow, stops for minutes, or does not open some pages or part of pages. To complicate things now the cursor started to disappear and after a couple minutes my laptop just shuts down. This has happened a few times the last couple days so far but it is a big concern. (I m thinking how a key went lose the first week I got the laptop too, Apple replaced the key).
All said, I am now not sure what is what, is it a software problem I am having or worse, is it a hardware failure. At times I wish I would have gotten just a PC laptop.
What should I do?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Premiere Elements 10 install failure on Mac osx 10

I have a copy of Adobe Premiere Elements 10, the five disk set, and keep having the same failure trying to install it on my Mac. I have gone through all the product requirements and made sure that my computer satisfies them, but I still find an install failure at 51%, Exit code 7, each time.
What can I do?

I had the exact same problem installing Premiere Elements 10 on a Mac from DVD. Exit code 7 when it reached 51% installation. I followed the link to "updated installation instructions" provided in this forum by Adobe Employee Jeff Wright. It works.
The instructions in a nutshell: DON'T USE THE DVD. Instead, download a trial version. When you install use the serial number provided with your DVD.
I find this to be extremely aggravating. I spent a lot of time trying using the Adobe Support Advisor application trying to sort through the error codes. Then I spent time trying to get through to Adobe Support (never did get through). Finally I tried the forum and found the answer here.
I find Adobe to be grossly inadequate in two ways. First, they put out a product that just wasn't tested. The DVD won't install on a Mac. It is as if they did not test their product. Second, their support is awful. This is a known problem with a known solution. When the fault occurs, the Adobe Support Advisor application should point the customer to the "updated installation instructions". Instead it points to faults that are unrelated so the customer is led on a wild goose chase.
I hope the product will be better than my experience so far.

Unable to open printer (read failure)! mac lion

I downloaded the new Lion software recently and since doing so I have not been able to print. When I print to my Canon MX700 it come up with :Unable to open printer (read failure)!
I have reset as I found thru other posts, downloaded th current driver/software info from the printer website and connected the mac book pro directly to the usb port versus thru my airport which has worked great for many years. What is it with this new lion software and printing??

I, too am having problems printing after updating to 10.6.8. I have a wireless HP D110 that works fine but lost connectivity to my Epson Stylus Pro7600. I used to get an error message or that plotter is busy, so I followed instructions to remove printer and reinstall...Now my iMac can't find the driver even though I've reinstalled it. Anyone out there have any luck?

Power failure in mac mini?

i was thinking of buying a new mac mini. But always concern what will happen if power failure and i dont have a ups hooked to it.
Will it save and go into sleep mode or it will shut down? will i lose what i was doing if something like that were to happen?

yes the mini does not have a battery unlike laptops. If your power supply is shaky you should either get a UPS or a MacBook.
When the power fails, the mini will shut down immediately and not gracefully. You lose the work done since your last save. If the mini was saving files when power was lost, your saved file may even be unreadable.
You may find a TimeCapsule invaluable to continuously back up your work. (But that would require a UPS anyway).

7921 Failure - Has MAC address D80000000401 ????

We run WLCs with code version 4.2.130.0. Our 7921s run with code version CP7921G-1.3.2.
I have some 7921s that are failing. They hang at the Loading Network
Services stage of the boot-up process.
From the phone keypad, when I view the MAC address to attempt to troubleshoot the issue,the MAC address is listed as D80000000401. This is not a valid MAC address. The phone is not associated with an AP and therefore is not registered to Call Manager. I cannot find the phone by searching for that MAC
address in WCS.

Mike - the phone doesn't work and I'm not RMA'ing the thing. Any good engineer would want to know why it's not working.
So who gives 2 shits if I crack it open. The fact is - WHEN I RESEATED THE ANTENNAE CIRCUIT BOARD IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN!
We have a HIGH failure rate on these 7921 phones and they obviously CANNOT take a the 24/7 beating of a hospital environment. Otherwise we wouldn't be getting 20 of them returned every month that are non-functioning. And yes, many of them have been dropped...HELLO...they are essentially a cell phone. They get dropped.

Logic board failure on Mac Book Pro. Backed up info via time machine with sea gate external hard drive. Help!

I now have no access to any mac now, and the old mac while it still has my old information freezes immeadiatley upon starting. I am therefore switching to PC laptop that has be graciously given to me. My question is how do I get my information off my external drive, and on to my new laptop? The laptop is an Asus with windows vista, and I am planning on upgrading it to Window's 7. All my information from the past 3 years of college is stored in this Seagate 320 gb external hard drive. What do I need to do?

OK… firstly try the USB port on the other side and see if it makes any difference. Otherwise, do you have any better luck using the drive when it's connected through an AC powered USB hub.
To check if your MBP is seeing your drive at all it should appear in the USB section in the System Profiler utility.

Adobe XI trial failure on Mac (disk image couldn't be opened)

I downloaded the Acrobat Pro Trial and after the download, it got stuck on "Extracting. This might take a while." In addition, a warning box appeared and stated, acrobatpro_11_web_WWMUI.dmg -error -4960 disk image couldn't be opened. I am running Mac OS X, 10.6.8.
The extraction never finished and I have not been able to begin using the trial. Could anyine advise on how to get beyond this issue and start the trial?
There seem to have been similar questions in the past (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5466536), but the question was not answered in a way that would have resolved the issue.
Thank you in advance for your help! I too am in the middle of PhD submissions and could quite use the programme right now (and am hesitant about purchasing a programme whose trial does not even work).

CS3 update failure on Mac OS 10.6.8

Running CS3 on Mac OS 10.6 and updates do not download, specifically for Acrobat 8 Professional v 8.1.5
updates 8.1.3 , 8.1.4 , 8.1.5 , 8.1.6 repeatedly prompted but never able to download
Individual updates downloaded from support site do not load with message that Adobe and or Safari are open when not
This has been a problem for well over a year.

MAC: color management failure. Mac OSX 10.4.3 compatible with PS Elements 2.0?

Can't print directly from PS Elements 2 on my Mac: G5 single 1.8GHz processor; 1.5Meg RAM; over 220 gig free space on hard drive; Mac OSX 10.4.3; Epson Photo R800 printer and paper with Epson ICC profiles installed and working.
PSE 2 slaughters the color on printout (this shows up in preview, too). I've downloaded and installed the "Ignore EXIF Color Space" plug-in, it loads during PSE 2 startup, but the sRGB color space is still indicated in the PSE 2 print dialogues.
A second problem: iPhoto indicates that files written by PSE 2 (.psd or .jpeg) are unreadable and will not open them.
However, I can open these PSE 2 files and print them with the Mac Preview application and everything seems to work ok. This all feels like an incompatibility issue between PSE 2 and Mac OSX 10.4.3. Will I have to buy PSE 3? (Although the Adobe web site only says PSE 3 is compatible with Mac OS X v.10.2.8 or v.10.3; there is no mention of "or higher" or of Mac OSX 10.4.3 in particular.)

Unfortunately, I did not have the latest version of Disk Warrior. Your probably right that zeroing the drive was overkill, but what a great feeling to start over! I feel like I just took a shower, broke up with my girlfriend, and moved to Italy to start a new life.
I went ahead and installed a retail version of OSX 10.4.3 and I am back up and running. I am going to stay a away from the latest OSX software updates for now to see how things play out.

Zeroing is not necessary in most cases. A bad node
can frequently be repaired by Alsoft Disk Warrior
(assuming your data is backed up). If your data
isn't backed up, a bad node can often be read through
by Prosoft Data Rescue.
If I didn't catch you in time to stop your zeroing,
if installing the operating system you have
difficulty with zeroing, then perhaps the drive has
failed or its connector has failed. Be sure when you
go to install to only install the operating system
that came with the computer or a newer retail

USB Modem software installation failure on MAC OS X 10.8.5

i have a USB Modem Device ( Tata Photon+) manufactured by Huawei .One fine day it failed to connect to the net (citing a need t. on my MacBook pro mid 2012 model(OS X 10.8.5). I then o contact the service provider)the device did work on windows 7. i then uninstalled the software and tried reinstalling the software but installation failed.
The next day after i boot my mac it flashed a message saying that "Insecure startup item disabled" /Library/Startupitems/HwPortDetect and HwNetMgr
To which i 1st Moved all the data present in startupitems directory into trash repaired disk permissions and then restarted it.I moved those deleted elements back to startupitems. I restarted the machine but the message still persist on boot up. Finally i just deleted the items in startupitems folder and restarted the machine. The message stopped comming but still i am unable to install the software of my usb modem. please help

Disk Utility Reporting Hardware Failure on Mac HD- Not Repairable

Hi! Looks like my hard drive is toast on my 24" aluminum case 24" imac. NOT under warranty although I bought it in Jan 09. DU reporting Mac HD in RED with message...'disk utility has detected hardware problem which cannot be repaired'. Ok. Will a simple hard drive replacement do the trick? Or, could there be additional grief? Thanks!

Do you have a backup of at least your personal data on the drive? If you do, you should try reformatting (erasing) the drive using Disk Utility, before giving up on it.
Restart from your Mac OS X installation disc, for the system you have installed currently; to do so, insert disc and restart with the C key held down. When you get to the first Installer screen (after language selection), go up to the menu bar. Under Utilities, select to run Disk Utility. In the sidebar, select the internal drive. On the +First Aid+ tab, run +Repair Disk+ (not +Repair Disk Permissions+ ). Do you still get that previous error at some point in this process? Do you get some other error that Disk Utility is not able to repair?

Adobe CS5 Trial Setup failure on Mac. Help!

Ok so I've been trying to download the trial for Adobe CS5 Photoshop and have run into some problems on my Mac. Here's where I am in the download process. I went to the site and clicked the download now button for the trial. I open the adobedownloadassistant.dmg on my desktop and double click the install adobe download assistant. I watch the bar on the adobe download assistant install go to completion and then it closes out. Now, from what I understand, at this point the download assistant should pop up and I'm supposed to sign in with my ID but the problem is that this window never pops up.
I noticed one time that it said that a version of adobe AIR could not be found and suggested updating. I went to the Adobe site then and downloaded the latest version of Adobe AIR. When I try to install it I get an error message saying that the Adobe AIR installer application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found. This is also the same error message I got with the CS5 installer assistant.
Here's a picture of the error message I get when trying to open the adobe AIR installer. Seems like a catch-22 to me.

GlobeTrotter Connect failure with Mac OS X 10.5.5

I bought an AT & T USBCONNECT Quicksilver Data Card to use with the late 2008 MacBook Pro. The laptop has two partitions, one running Vista, the other Mac OS X 10.5.5 (forget version number, but whatever came with the laptop).The Data card works flawlessly with Vista with the drivers provided both with 3G and EVDO. However, when booted under Macintosh, the GlobalConnect software cannot find the card-get message that "No card found". I know the card works,
and the USB port works because it is fully operational under Vista, but I need it to work with Macintosh.System Profiler sees the card, also. Have uninstalled/reinstalled/restarted multiple times. In the Network prefpane, there are two items listed under GlobeTrotter Connect version 1.3 (Option 3G Ethernet and Option 3G Modem); for both, it states that"Cable unplugged." Does anybody have any idea how to make this card work with 10.5.5 (the software states it's good for 10.5+)? AT&T refuses to support MacOS, period.Option, the company that makes the software probably won't help, as this is not their card, but I requested support anyway.Any help appreciated, otherwise I will have to return the card. BTW, it works great with Vista on the same laptop

To "answer" my own question, nobody will help to support this AT&T product and its GlobalConnect software for Mac OS X 10.5.5, including AppleCare. AppleCare passes the buck to option.com, the company that manufactures the software, which passes the buck to AT&T (which includes the software with their hardware) and AT&T offers no Mac support for this card. So...I got rid of the AT&T product, am using Verizon's version with Verizon's software, which works flawlessly with both Mac OS 10.5.5 and Vista. Just a word to the wise...
