Flatfile load in BI 7.0

Sorry to ask this question now....i have searched the forum.......i haven't got solution. can you please give a the solution for it.
I am trying to load data from Flat File that is CSV from my workstation. while creating transformation for the cube i am getting error with key figures. The problem is with currency and units.
While creating key figures i have crated with them fixed currency that is with INR and for Unit quantity field i created with unit as EA.
Can you please tell how i have to maintain flat file and have to create datasource ,cube and transformation to get my fixed units and currencies into cube while i have Fixed currencies and Units in data.

when you are maintaing the amount and quantity with fixed currency and fixed unit of measure.
use the same info objects DSO
As per your detailed I tried and loaded the daat also.
when you are maianting fixed currencies and fixed unit info objetcs
no need of maiantain the cureency and unit in flat file.
in daat source all feilds along with that fixed currency and fixed unit infoobject
when you used this two u can not get 0currency or 0 unit
even in same way in fl;at file also based on the data source sequance maintain the flat file and see the preview.
at transformations also when you go with fixed curreny and fixed unit object
there is no question of 0currency and 0unit
map the same thing both the feilds and info objects and execute the DTP.
some whwer may be FF and Dats ource not proper ,

Routine in InfoPackage for flatfile loading

Hi Friends,
Can you give be possiblesolution for my scenario.
I am getting a flatfile from a Third Party source and I am loading the data into a Cube.
Recently, we have identified that we are getting duplicate data in the file for the same week.And I am calculating the Calweek based on that date.
For ex:For week 35, I have same data for date 07/23, 07/24,07/25.When I pull my report for that week, I am getting trippled data in my report.
So my requirement is to ignore two dates in that file and load only one date's data.
Can you tell me how to do that?

Adding additional key field will be the option in addition to writing some abap code. In your abap code, you could get the 0CALWEEK of the date field and store it in internal table when loading data, then every time you update, you need to read the internal table to make sure that the data is not updated, if it is, then you need to skip.
And also if you want to add key in your ods and but don't want to change the existing ods, then you can create another ods with overwrite option which will update to the ods you have now.
I would recommend changing key of the ods instead of using abap code which will make the loading process slower.

Flatfile loading-info packager settings

hi guys,
Im trying to load one flatfile into infocube.
when Im doing settings in infopackage,I came across a tabstrip with name EXTERNAL DATA....in that I didnot understand
1.
the two options they gave where I have to choose one.Can u explain the meaning of it.
File is..Data file or Control file......
what does these to options mean and where do we use them in real time...
2.
Currency conversion for external system ....what will happen if i choose this option...in which scenarios do we use this in real time....
3.In DATA TARGETS tabstrip,there are some options to choose...
                     a.Update in all targets for which active rules exist
                      b.delete entire content of datatarget..
     what will happen if i choose these options.....where do we use them in real time....

Currency conversion for external system ....what will happen if i choose this option...in which scenarios do we use this in real time....
This is important when we do flat file and there are Amounts with Currency.There are many currency related settings calculations that need to performed like determining the No of Decimal places for a Currency.
For Eg.
Whenever the amount 123 KRW is loaded in BW, it checks the TCURX table for the KRW currency. After finding the entry in TCURX table, it stores the amount value in target as 123 / {10** (2 u2013 (0))} that is 1.23 KRW. (The amount is divided by 100)
For this to happen, we have to make a specific setting in the InfoPackage thru which we schedule the loads. The checkbox for u201CCurrency Conversion for External Systsu201D should be ticked as shown below

Error in flatfile load - date not compliant with user date settings

Hi,
I want to load a flatfile into BI 2004s.
so i created a flatfile datasrource, transformation etcetc.. all fine so far.
the file contains 2 dates in format YYYYMMDD and are loaded in DATS infoobjects (also yyyymmdd).
but when i load the data into the PSA it immediatly dumps with error message "19771009 does not match the user-dependent date format --> long text"
the long text sais 19771009 does not correspond to the date format that is assigned to the current user BIWREMOTE. which is correct.. cos there date is DD-MM-YYYY
when i change the date format in the user settings to YYYY-MM-DD it works fine...... in the forground. In the background,whatever i do, it dumps with this errormessage.
so i have 2 questions:
since when is, while loading to the PSA, the date format linked&checked with the date format in the user setting? i cannot recall ever having this issue.
did anyone encounter this problems.

Flatfile loading from Local Workstation

Hello,
I am training BW, and i have this Proccess Chain simulating some data, acquired from a Infopackage that pulls data from a Flatfile.
In the first execution i couldn't pull the data because it said
"An upload from the client workstation in the background is not possible"
I came here and basicly read that this is impossible to do. Nevertheless i got a bit further and discovered this option on the Tabs Menu of the Proccess Chain
"Execution -> Execute Synchronously" and the PC starts running in the background and my Flatfile infopackage get the data and i am able to populate the Target with that data!
My question is, what is this Execute Synchronously proccess doing and what, if some, effects or problems it may arise?

Synchronous Processing
A request is processed synchronously in a dialog process -- for example when it is started in debug mode from DTP maintenance. The debugger settings allow you to enable automatic synchronization after each control method. In debugging mode, the system then executes a flush call after each control call. If a runtime error occurs, the call is displayed that caused the error.
You cannot Load Flat file from Local Work station untill and unless it is assigned at AL11 and you have proper Authorizations for the same.

Flatfile load Problem

Hi,
While loading flatfile (103 records) to a CUBE , only the 10 records only loaded to a cube the remaining datas not loaded.
Theres no error message in Monitor screen all are shows green only.
Can any one tell me whats the exact problem?

Hi,
Suppose if you have
C100 M100 1000
C100 M100 2000
then as they are in same request it generally adds the key figure values and updates the data C100 M100 3000 into Cube.
So if you want to load the data as it is then you have to load the duplicate data in separate requests al least.

Flatfile loading symbols

In BW I load a flatfile CSV, to a datasource.
I am loading from a flatfile with fields wich contain especially the symbol squar '²' in a textfield.
The field in the datasouce is of type CHARACTER (60) and allows lowercase characters.
After loading the file and checking the PSA the symbol '²' is not present. The string 'AAa m² aaa' in the flatfile is loaded
as 'AAa m aaa'.
I don't understand why the symbol is missing, can anyone help?

Hi,
This would either be a problem where the system doesn't support Unicode or the character is not supported in the system code page so you would end up with a character that it doesn't know how to handle so you get the space in its place.

Custom ABAP flatfile loading app with statuses

Hi all,
I inherited a rather large ABAP program that is used here to load flat file data that is emailed to me as CVS files. One of the nice things about this program is that it "cleans" the data, presents the "to be uploaded data," triggers the load and then reports the Load status back.
Unfortunately everything seems to work OK except the load status which always returns the programs error message indicating that the load was not confirmed.
The code basically queries table RSMONICDP a few times and waits 20 seconds. If the load is not finished by then it returns an error. This means that I have to manually confirm each load and that I can never give this job to a non-BW person to perform (as was the initial intention i think).
Can anyone tell me if there is a better or easier way to report the load statuses (via email or an ABAP function that can embed a customized monitor screen).

I'm getting error in the last integration step which is given below. Please help me with this

I got this fixed. Apparently, my syntax was not correct for a concatenation step. The syntax I'm supposed to use should be in hsql.

Hierarchy FlatFile Loading

Hi RamuBI,
You cannot load hierarchy in 7.0 BI system, through flat file.
For loading hierarchy first you have to make a flat file in proper format . like in below link.

after that you have to create a data source in flat file system, so that you can load it from there.
At the time of data source creation you have to select the hierarchy type data source.
after this create a info package , in that you have to select flat file loading and system on which flat file exists.
then on hierarchy selection tab , click on the new hierarchy button to create a new hierarchy.
give technical name and description and also select the sorted and interval hierarchy.
save that hierarchy.
Now select the data file from the Application server.
and execute the package.
and take care that all the values in character must be in CAPITAL letters.

Error in loading the data from flatfile

when am loading the data from flat file iam getting error "ERROR4 WHEN LOADING THE EXTERNAL DATA" is it because of mapping in the transferrules or error in the flat file.

The reasons may be the file is open, the format/flatfile structure is not correct, the mapping/transfer structure may not be correct, presence of invalid characters/data inconsistency in the file, etc.
Check if the flatfile in .CSV format.
You have to save it in .CSV format for the flatfile loading to work.
Also check the connection issues between source system and BW or sometimes may be due to inactive update rules.

SQL Interface - Error in Loading the data from SQL data source

Interestingly, after the job fails thru our batch scheduler environment, when I run the same script that's being used in the batch scheduler, the job completes successfully.
Also, this is first time, I saw this kind of error message.

Duplicate Data records occured while loading

Hai Experts
While loading Duplicate Data records occured earlier there was less no of records i used to delete the duplicate records in background in PSA. Now i am having more records which i am confusing which to delete and which not to delete. Since it is a flatfile loading with delta update mode. and when i went to infopackage it is showing update subsequently in data target in hide position and i went through process chainipdisplay variant---- and made status red--- selected updated subsequently in data target
ignore duplicate data records. and i want to trigger the subsequent process. if we go through process monitor i can rspc_process_finish. I i go display variant then what is the process.......................... is there any function module.

Select the check box " Handle duplicate records key" in DTP on update tab.
