Flex object identification in test automation

I am using HP Sprinter for testing website UX functionality and I am unable to identify individual fields - just recognizing them as Macromedia Falsh Active X objects. My question is if I have Flash Builder installed should this help in identifying the objects/fields?

Hi,
We are also facing the similar issue. Did you find any solution. If so please share it will be helpful to me..

  • Object Identification by QTP automation tool

I tried two cases on FlexBuilder3.
(1)When static Module with AddChild on UIComponent, QTP can recognize the Flex object without a problem.
(2)When Dynamic Module with AddChild on UIComponent by loader method of the PageInfo* class, QTP cannot recognize the Flex object.
=>QTP ObjectSpy don't show any Child object (LoginField,PasswordField).
*PageInfo class:Custom Framework Class to maintain information about one screen.
In the case of the second case of the said article,Is some kind of setting necessary?
I think that it is necessary to use the delegate class by the expectation, but I want to use only  TEAFlexCustom.xml.
    Thank you for Advise.

  • Flex Objects disappearing automatically from QTP Object repository

Whenever we try to add the flex objects in our application to QTP Object repository, the same is getting analyzed, added and gets disappeared automatically in seconds.
Could there be a reason for this, we tried to uninstall & reinstall all plug-in & QTP as well. Still issue persists.

There is also TestComplete by AutomatedQA but it is of
limited usage because it is not mx.automation aware and in many
difficult cases reverts to dumb mouse X,Y recording.
And there is the upcoming RIATest that will be specifically
designed for Flex using mx.automation. Here is the site:

    Hi,
I suggest you to select only 1.7.0.65 in Java Runtime Environment Settings and uncheck version 1.7.0.67.
Try to launch application. If the application opens, then Openscript will identify objects. Else have to wait till next release of Openscript supporting JRE version 1.7.0.67.
Please let me know if the above suggested method worked.

  • Need test automation libraries for QTP 10

    I need Test Automation libraries like automation_agent.swc, automation_dmv.swc, automation.swc, qtp.swc , automation_flashflexkit.swc to complile the application.
The link (http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/flexdownloads/) in adobe site is not working. Can you please help me to get this SWC files.
I have QTP 10.0, Adobe flash player 11 plugin, Flash player 11 activex and reader 10.1.3.

I am unsure exactly which Adobe product or possibly programing language you are trying to use.  Are you trying to utilize Flex?  You may want to search the Flex forums or post there if that is the case.

  • I am seeking information on thermal cycle testing automation.

I am seeking information on thermal cycle testing automation. I am using Labview 7 to perform an 8 cycle thermal test with a performance test at -25C and 65C with an end-of-line test at the end of the 8 cycles. I am looking for a way to automate. I have the equipment to control the PLC temp. controller. I just need to know if anyone has encountered this type of test. Thanks.

    Hi Dennis,
Thanks a lot for your suggestion and example.Well I am finding bit hard to put all codes together. But I am sure that its doable with the technique you told.I am sending you my code for temperature controller which is basically PID based temperature controller and controls one temperature at a time. What I need is to put it in event structure which you used for your application and achieve three different setpoints which are controlled through this code of temperature controller for specified length of time.
I have also written code which you send it to me for different setpoints and dwell times. Finally what need to be done is to put these code together in order to achieve my goal.I am sending you all these codes,I hope they make sense to you.I will be highly thankful to you for providing me your help and suggestions in order to achive thermal cycling with labview. Thanks a lot for giving your valuable time on it.
    Please find attached codes.
    Take care

  • Data from SOAP response not getting into Flex object

I'm trying to get data from an ALM application we use(Collabnet TeamForge) using a SOAP webservice, and am running into a problem.  I should mention that I am new to both Flex, and webservices.
I used the "Import Web Services" option in Flex Builder 3, and had it generate code for all operations in the WSDL.  Some of them work just fine.  However, there are several where the data from the SOAP response does not get into the Flex object. The senario that doesn't work is when the response contains a data type that extends another datatype.  In TeamForge, they have a type called TrackerSoapRow.  It extends FolderSoapRow, adding 3 fields.  The problem seems to be that in the response from TeamForge, the 3 fields defined in TrackerSoapRow are in the middle of the fields defined in FolderSoapRow.  I've debugged into it, and the problem occures in mx.rpc.xml.XMLDecoder.getApplicableValues( starting at line 2204 of XMLDecoded.as).  As I read the code, the only way a match can be found is if the fields in the response are in the exact same order as in the definintion.  When its processing the extended data type(  by a call to XMLDecoder.decodeComplexExtension ) at some point, one of the derived type's fields is encountered, and the process stops.
I have called the service using soapui and verified that all the data I expect is in the response.
As I mentioned, I'm new to web services.  So, I suppose its possible that the format of the data being returned from TeamForge is incorrect.  That they are not supposed to intermingle base and derived fields.  If thats the case, then I need to report this as a bug to Collabnet.
    All help is appreciated.

    Not knowing any of the details about how you call a web service from OAF myself - I'd suggest you post on the proper forum for OA Framework questions: {forum:id=210}

  • Passing a Flex object to CFC

I have no problem passing a query object to my Flex app and
use it to populate a datagrid (arraycollection).... however, I want
to use this same data to update the database when the user clicks
on save, and instead of looping through each row (calling my
remoteobject each time) is there a way I can format this
information into an array, array collection or some other form of
flex object and pass ti back to another cfc function to do the
    update?????
I've read elsewhere that its possible to do with a
remoteobject, however, my attempts were futile and I cannot find an
    example anywhere.
I cant find a solution anywhere so and help would be
