Flex SOAP 1.1 specification issue

Hi,
In our project we are integrating flex with Websphere Enterprise Service Bus(ESB). Flex will call a web service which is exposed by ESB through LCDS configuration. here is the SOAP request message sent by flex to ESB.

The above highlighted elements are not complined with SOAP 1.1 specification. As the SOAP 1.1 Specification says:
A NULL value or a default value MAY be represented by omission of the accessor element. A NULL value MAY also be indicated by an accessor element containing the attribute xsi:null with value '1' or possibly other application-dependent attributes and values.
Now Websphere ESB requires the request to be SOAP 1.1 complaint and if SOAP element is null than either it should not be present in SOAP message or null element should have xsi:null="1" instead of xsi:nil="true".
Please provide your views to make Flex SOAP request complined with SOAP 1.1 specification.

• Flex SDK 3.2 : Unmarshalling issue : SOAP objects are not deserialized completely

Hi everybody !
I have a strange problem with SOAP deserialization in flex 3.2, and I thought this forum will be the best place to get answers ...
When I try to fetch some objects (like the ones shown below), the XMLDecoder does not deserialize all the properties.
In this case, it stops at the property named "rating". After it, all other data are lost.
I've used the flex builder debugger to locate the problem, and this lead me to the following method in the XMLDecoder class :
getApplicableValues(parent:*, valueElements:XMLList, name:QName,context:DecodingContext, maxOccurs:uint):XMLList:
State of the variables, before the "bug" :
The strange behavior appears after the five first properties had been deserialized correctly.
At this step : startIndex = 5, and the next property to unmarshall is "user" (according to the MExpertNotes object mapping)
the valueElement's list contains the following elements :
to simplify the notation, I will write only the position in the list and the xml tag name (see the complete soap response for more details at the end of this post)
(position, fieldName)
(0, ID) -> inherited from MotocycletteObjectImpl
(1,comment)
(2, noteValidation) (a Bean, never returned by our service -> set to null)
(3,noteValidationID)
(4,rating)
(5,timeOfCreation) -> inherited from MotocycletteObjectImpl
(6,user) (a Bean, never returned by our service -> set to null)
(7,userExpert) (a Bean, never returned by our service -> set to null)
(8,userExpertID)
(9,userID)
(10,version) -> inherited from MotocycletteObjectImpl
when it enters the for loop, at the first iteration the valueElements[i].name is equals to "timeOfCreation" and the name parameter is equal to "user".
so this test : if (name == null || valueElements[i].name() == name
|| ((name.uri == "" || name.uri == null)
&& name.localName == valueElements[i].name().localName))
returns false. The skipAhead variable is set to false (and i don't understand why). It stops iterating over the valueElementList, and so, skips all other properties.
Is this a bug ? Does a workaround exists ?
This affects many of our objects.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I am having an issue with music on my IPod. It would probably be easier to explain my specific issue: I have songs by Band of Horses from Cease to Begin. When viewing my albums through cover flow, it shows Cease To Begin as two separate albums, one with only Islands on the Coast, and the other having Islands on the Coast with 3 other songs. If I delete the album with only one song from my IPod, it deletes the song from the other "album" as well. If I go to "All Songs" by Band of Horses, it only shows one Islands on the Coast, so it is not a duplicate issue. Also, in Itunes, it only shows one album. I just recently updated to iOS5 on my 4th Gen IPod Touch, if that helps.

• 3 Specific Issues With 10.7 Lion (Safari, iCal, Mail)

I have 3 specific issues with Lion that I seem unable to fix. Note that these issues did not exist before my upgrade to Lion.
1. Safari 5.1.5 & "White Screen":
If I open more than 3 or 4 Safari windows at a time, suddenly the winsows switch to "white screen", and try and reload (even windows that are sitting on the dock). About 50% of the time, they don't reload and I am stuck with white screens. So I have to quit Safari and then re-open.
Safari then tries to reload the pages all at once (which slows down my MacBook). I have de-slected "Restore Windows" in System Prefs/General, but Safari tries to do so anyway.
2. Mail 5.2 & having to delete e-mails twice:
When I delete an e-mail sent to my .Me address, it deletes and then comes back again (when I switch to a different mail box). Then I have to delete it a second time. This onl;y happens with the .Me e-mails. I have tried deleteing that account and then setting it up again, but the same thing happends evey time.
3. iCal 5.0.2:
When I launch iCal either manually or automatically (on start-up), it takes a good 60 seconds to actually open (lots of bouncing around on the dock & that's about it), even though I have "Restore Windows" de-selected in System Prefs/General.
Any help in solving these issues would be greatly appreciated, especially as they effecty the 3 applications I use the most and therefore effect my MacBook's performance greatly.

Solved!
A Workaround:
Get the Webkit Nightly Build , download and add to your App Folder, make it the Default browser, follow the instructions to show your homepage, after this you almost done, than download
RCDefaultApp, open System Preferences launch RCDefaultApp, go under Apps, search for Webkit and mark all all associations, Safari is no more dfeault for something, after this, go to Extensions Pane and search for the safariextz Extension, now set it to Webkit as well, now you are most up to date and Webkit updates more often than Safari ever did ^^
Enjoy

• Browser specific Issue with af:fileDownloadActionListener/ component.

Hi all,
We are facing an issue with <af:fileDownloadActionListener/> component.
The issue is that when we download a particular file to the local system/machine, after downloading the file using <af:fileDownloadActionListener/>, none of the actions/links/button work on the page thereafter. We have to do a browser refresh or switch the URL.
After doing some investigation, it is looking like a browser specific issue, as this is reproducible only on chrome but not on firefox or IE.
The UI component used is <af:fileDownloadActionListener/> component. Below is the snippet of the code. Is there anything to be specified for af:fileDownloadActionListener?
<f:facet name="buttonBar">
<af:panelGroupLayout partialTriggers="expPoll expProgess" id="gsexppgl11">
<af:commandButton text="#{uib_o_w_w_r_WebCenter.LABEL_DOWNLOAD}"
shortDesc="#{uib_o_w_w_r_WebCenter.LABEL_DOWNLOAD}"
id="expClientp"
disabled="#{!pageFlowScope.o_w_w_i_v_b_l_WebCenterExportBean.showExportButtons}">
<af:fileDownloadActionListener filename="#{pageFlowScope.o_w_w_i_v_b_l_WebCenterExportBean.fileName}"
contentType="application/force-download; charset=utf-8"
method="#{pageFlowScope.o_w_w_i_v_b_l_WebCenterExportBean.dumpOAROnClient}"/>
</af:commandButton>
</af:panelGroupLayout>
</f:facet>
Anyone has faced this issue before? Is this a known issue?
Thanks,
Ankush

Jdveloper version is 11g. But we saw this issue with 12c as well.
I have reproduced this in a standalone application as well. I had a page on which I just had a button attached to the file download component. And I faced the similar situation - works fine on IE/FF but causing issues on chrome/safari.

• Flex/Actionscript External XML Scope Issue

I am processing an external XML file in an event listener
after the URLLoader is complete. The issue I'm having is that I
want getProduct() to return the XML data. How can I get the data
from the event listener getXML(). I tried creating a public
variable outside of the functions but I can't access it from within
the two functions.
package messages
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.net.*;
//Returns the current product
public class FetchXMLData
public static function getXML(e:Event):void {
var myProduct:XML = new XML(e.target.data);
trace(myProduct.product);
public static function getProduct():XML{
var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,
FetchXMLData.getXML);
loader.load(new URLRequest("
http://www.example.com/api"));
var myProducts:XML = new XML();
//get the value from the listener?!
return myProducts;
}

I'm also running into this problem. I'm running on Eclipse 3.4 w/ the WBEJ_plugin 3.2.
Everyon else using this application isn't have a problem saving and the encoder doesn't mess up their SOAP requests, but each time I send, SOAP double-encodes the &, resulting in the error you described. The problem I was running into was then dealing w/ that XML on a return SOAP, where I'm expecting well formed XML, and instead I get <WhateverName>, which Flex reinterprets as <, and not <. I made an ugly hack for that that will just split/join any of those, but if there is a real reason why this is happening, that would be great to find out.

• Many Specific Issues with Mac Performance after Yosemite Upgrade

I have a MacBook Pro Retina 15”--Late 2013
Ever since I upgraded to Yosemite, I have experienced the following problems:
Preview locking up after I attempt to open a document or photo
None of my files will be visible in certain views (e.g., Download Folder will appear empty)
Trash and Junk Folders will disappear in Mail
Spotlight will not search for anything when I attempt to use it
Google apps (e.g., Search, News, Gmail, Maps) will usually not open initially when I try to open them in Safari—will just time out with a message that website will not respond… If I close out the tab, then try to re-open it, it usually works. I also tried them out in Chrome, and they seem to load with no problems.
Initially I contacted Apple support. They had me delete several cache files, ran disk utility, etc. This seemed to help for a while, but problem returned.
The next step: I performed a clean installation of Yosemite. Eventually, the symptoms returned.
Last step: I took my computer to the Genius Bar at a local Apple Store. The tech ran several diagnostics and found no problems.
Finally, the Genius Bar tech. asked me how often I shut down my Mac; I told him ‘not very often’. His recommendation was that I restart my Mac every once in a while… (not specific on frequency)….
Restarting it every couple of days seems to be the only thing that works…
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
The test works on OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. I don't recommend running it on older versions of OS X. It will do no harm, but it won't do much good either.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message. See, for example, this discussion.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. Try to test under conditions that reproduce the problem, as far as possible. For example, if the computer is sometimes, but not always, slow, run the test during a slowdown.
You may have started up in "safe" mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
PATH=/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/libexec;clear;cd;p=(1286 ' 0.5 0.25 50 1000 15 5120 1000 25000 6 6 5 1 0 100 ' 51 25600 4 10 25 5120 102400 1000 25 1 400 40 500 300 85 25 20480 262144 20     Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, a series of lines will appear in the Terminal window like this:
[Process started]
Part 1 of 8 done at … sec
Part 8 of 8 done at … sec
The test results are on the Clipboard.
Please close this window.
[Process completed]
The intervals between parts won't be exactly equal, but they give a rough indication of progress. The total number of parts may be different from what's shown here.
Wait for the final message "Process completed" to appear. If you don't see it within about ten minutes, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, press the key combination control-C or command-period to stop it and go to the next step. You'll have incomplete results, but still something.
12. When the test is complete, or if you stopped it because it was taking too long, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak for themselves, not for me. The test itself is harmless, but whatever else you're told to do may not be. For others who choose to run it, I don't recommend that you post the test results on this website unless I asked you to.

Hi Santosh,
add the source namespace with a prefix:

do it most simple generic without path
do not forget the prefix
ns0:

• SOAP Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding

Hi Friends,
I am new to use to Soap Adapter. Please help me out bellow doubts.
1.When you use Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding .
2. Where exactly we r using below parameters.
Remote User : (technical name: SRemoteUser )
Remote Host : (technical name: SRemoteHost )
SOAP Action (technical name: SHeaderSOAPACTION )
To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName1 )
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName2 )
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName3 )
Thanks&Regards
G.Bhanuprakash

Hi,
1.When you use Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding .
SAP Help says both are needed to be checked when you want to process adapter attributes
Configuring the Receiver SOAP Adapter - SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure - SAP Library
These attributes can be get/set using dynamic configuration and their technical names are what you have pasted:
Remote User : (technical name: SRemoteUser )
Remote Host : (technical name: SRemoteHost )
SOAP Action (technical name: SHeaderSOAPACTION )
To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName1 )
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName2 )
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName3 )
Remote User - the username used to send a message to the adapter engine using SOAP
Remote Host - hostname which the remote user used
SOAP Action - SOAP Action of the XI webservice (sender) / SOAP Action of the receiver webservice
Variable Headers are additional key-value pairs in the HTTP Header that could be accessed in the XI Header using dynamic configuration. The limit is only three though.

Mark

• SOAP receiver adapter configuration issue

Hi Everyone,
When I am trying to excute a sync scenario from SAP<>XI<>Webservice from Integration engine , I am getting the below error message.
Error while sending message: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPTION - HTTP 415 Cannot process the message because the content type 'text/xml; charset=utf-8' was not the expected type 'application/soap+xml; charset=utf-8'.
In the receiver SOAP adapter, I have configured Transformation module where I kept the MessageTransformationBean in processing sequence as a priority and also provided the module configuration.
ModuleKey: transform
ParameterName: Transform.ContentType
Parameter Value: application/soap+xml;charset=utf-8.
But still get the above error message in the communication channel. I am using certificates in my configuration that were deployed in visual Admin.
In the adapter configuration, I have just provided the Target URL, Configured User Authentication, certificate authentication and SOAP action.
Can anyone help me.. how to rectify the issue.....
Thanks in advance,
Hareen

HI Hareen,
I decided to give SOAP1.2 using the standard SOAP Adapter a try
There are a few noticeable differences between the request message of SOAP1.1 and SOAP1.2
1.) SOAP 1.1 uses a different namespace from SOAP 1.2. For SOAP 1.1 it is "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" while for SOAP 1.2 it is "http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope".
2.) SOAP 1.2 does not use SOAPAction in its header.
3.) Content type is also different, for SOAP 1.1 it is "text/xml" while for SOAP 1.2 it is "application/soap+xml"
So a sample request for SOAP 1.1 would be like this:
Content-Type: text/xml;charset=UTF-8
SOAPAction: "http://sampleaction"
While for 1.2 it is:
Content-Type: application/soap+xml;charset=UTF-8;action="http://sampleaction"
The SOAP action is moved to the content type (experts please correct me on this).
Based on the differences, you need:
1.) Construct the correct SOAP Envelope for request message mapping and remove it for the response mapping
2.) Use MessageTransformBean to change content type
3.) Leave SOAPAction as blank
I think dynamic soap action is no longer possible because the action is hardcoded in the module configuration (please correct).
Hope this helps,
Mark

• Soap adapter: string transformations issues

I have a difficult issue:
I want to send a SOAP message to a thirdparty environment ,this environment requieres a special format of the message XML to String; iu2019ll put a sample:
< SOAP:Body >
< ns0:application xmlns:ns0=u201Dhttp://xxxxxx/yyyyyyy.com/zzzzu201D >
< in0>
< inputMessage >
< request>name </request >
< versionMsg>x.0
u2026u2026u2026u2026..
< /parameters >
< /inputMessage>
This is the meesage that i process with PI. Then when it arrives to the other environment should be as this one, i'll write wrong the chars because the web change it in code...:
u201C< SOAP:Body >
< ns0:application xmlns:ns0=u201Dhttp://xxxxxx/yyyyyyy.com/zzzzu201D>
< in0>
& lt inputMessage& gt
& lt request & gt name& lt /request& gt
& lt versionMsg& gt x.0& lt /versionMsg& gt
etc etc etcu2026u2026.u201D
I have changed it in the mapping, it's something easy to map a source structure ot a target whit a string field and mark Return as XML in the source field. that's ok.
But now is the problem: The SOAP adapter changes all the '&' in differents chars as:&|#|34 (i separate whit |in this sample) or the tag > or < in other ascii chars.
Some one knows what can i do? i have tried too whit the last post, the module config for SOAP adapter: strictXML2PlainBean but it doesn't work.
Any help will be appreciated.
Best regards and thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance and best regards.

No, the problem is that the SOAP adapter does the escaping of these chars, so i can't control it. I am trying to deploy a EAR in the server, but i guess that an easiest way should exist for this case.
The main problem is that the thirdparty system has an filter and this kind of chars are not allowed, this system only understand & lt and & gt in the string field.
Thanks anyway

• Flex 2 charting license watermark issue

We've purchased the flex 2 builder and flex charting. I've
installed the serials and all works fine when the application is
build using flex builder. The watermark is removed. When I build
the application using command line (which points to same SDK as in
flex builder), the watermark remains? Does anyone know how to
resolve this issue or if this is a bug?
Thanks.

Hi,
I had the same problem and I am also using Maven instead of
Ant to build.
I managed to workout that you can add the mxmlc command line
argument, "-licenses.license charting XXXXXXXXXXX", to the
"flex-config.xml" using the following (Note: add it outside of the
<compiler> tag):
<licenses>
<license>
<product>charting</product>
<serial-number>XXXXXXXXXX</serial-number>
</license>
</licenses>
By doing this I could continue to build my Flex code through
maven.

• SOAP Adapter And Protocol issue

Why and when we use SOAP adapter ? Does Xi uses processed XML messages using SOAP protocol ? I am new to Xi and confused over the issue. Can anyone please explain this to me. Thanks for your time.

HI KM
When you want to Send Data to XI from a Webservice and vice versa, your SOAP adapter is used.

SOAP adapters are used for communicating with the WEB SERVICE. Web service is a software system designed to support interoperable Machine-to-Machine interaction over a network. Web services are frequently just Web APIs that can be accessed over a network, such as the Internet, and executed on a remote system hosting the requested services. In common usage Web Service refers to clients and servers that communicate using XML messages that follow the SOAP standard. So we communicate the WEB SERVICE using the SOAP adapters.
This is an example WEB SERVICE which follows the SOAP standards
