  • How does the web user drag the image left or right?

Folks, I'm ignorant in this stuff, yet I think I can work my
way thru with some help. I have a panoramic photo that extends off
the stage left and right, which is ok. I made it a movie clip. I
would like to have the user be able to click and drag this movie
clip of an image to see the missing areas, or even do that thing
where the mouse moves away from center and the picture follows
(unless that is way too tough). Got to be able to ONLY move left
and right; no up and down. I tried the help files, and even copy
pasted but got a lot of errors I cant understand, and lots of my
help files are missing anyway. I dont know vars, and classes, and
objects etc, so i guess I am looking for code or clues.
If anyone is kind enough to provide code, be sure to let me
know what parts of the sample code requires substitution because I
have seen stuff where you all know the abreviations, but I dont.

    Thanks kglad.
Well, that's a start. Only the picture jumped to the far
right, and then I had no more dragging ability; there it stayed.
    Any thoughts?
Even tho it says script contains no errors, this error showed
    up on output:
    **Error** Symbol=home, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Line 1: The
class 'drag' could not be loaded.
and here is what i used:
    homeClip.onPress = function() {
    this.startDrag(0, Stage.width-this._width, this._y, 0,
    this._y);
    homeClip.onRelease = function() {
    this.stopDrag();
where "homeClip" is the instance name of the movie clip named
    "home"
by the way, that instance name was in BLACK, not BLUE

  • Can't I just navigate/ flip pages LEFT to RIGHT?

It seems very silly that a program like Acrobat 8 with all it's bells and whistles, doesn't have an obvious way to switch between up to down and left to right navigating/ scrolling?
    Maybe I'm just stupid.

You have that with any version of Acrobat.
For example I have converted FileMaker pro Files of family trees which should be shown and navigated left to right instead of up and down. the direction is always top to bottom instead of left to right. I think its odd or weird also that the only way to navigate is up and down. Its should top to bottom until you get to bottom of page, and then when it gets to bottom of page goes to top of next page but next page moves in from the right and shifts left.
In other words on some documents pages should shift like reading a book, not like a tablet

  • How to add two different background images - left and right

I want to get something like this

The way I have done that is to create the right image as a full width image and then place the left hand image over top and stretch the image to the left hand side of the page.
Use background images on boxes instead of page background. I have done something similiar in the header of this site:

  • How to flip charts left to right

I have a chart with yearly data but the years are in the wrong order. It starts with 2000 on the left and goes down to 1980 to the right. Is there a way to flip this orientation without having to reorganize all my data so it starts with 1980 on the left to 2000 on the right? My table has 2000 at the top going down to 1980 at the bottom. I've been looking for ages for some easy way to just flip it. Thanks in advance!

Doesn't appear that this is possible within the chart. Can you sort your data ascending or will it mess up your table (many tables are not designed for sorting and get totally hosed)? If you cannot sort your table, you can create an auxiliary table that flips just those cells you need to flip. Then you plot the auxiliary table.

  • Re: How does the web user drag the image left or right?

hmm, no matter how far i move this movie clip to the right,
    it is still coming
up unbalanced to the left if the browser is larger than the
    swf size, >768. I
used a centered table as well.
I would really like to finish this off nicely. Waht do you
    think?
    http://www.stevez.biz/foto_fun/flossie/Flossie.htm

your swf is centered. you don't need a table for that,
though. you can just use the <center> </center> tags i
    described in your duplicate thread.

  • Mirroring the image of a shot from left to right.

I bet this is the silliest question ever!
I can't figure out how to make my image switch from right to left. I can figure out how to put a mirror effect half way through my shot, and I can rotate it, but not flip the sides.
    Can anyone help?
    Cheers, Jon.

    You welcome.

  • New LG Monitor Screen Image Keeps Shifting a few pixels left and right / goes into power save mode

I just purchased a new LG Computer Monitor from Best Buy today and hooked it up to my PowerMac computer. Shortly after setting it up, the entire screen image started sporadically shifting left and right a few pixels. And then, at seemingly random times, it'll shut itself down, going into power save mode. I checked the cables to make sure they were secure and they seem to be. Could there be some sort of interference that's causing it? Or would it be the graphics card? My computer is only a couple years old. Please help!

Do you have another computer you can plug the monitor into to test?

  • How to create an image banner that slides left to right with mouseover?

I need to create a web banner like the one on the following site:  www.gracelandbaptist.org.  I have been unabe to find anything on how to create such a banner.  I believe it was created in flash but am not sure.  I want my banner to work in the same fashion so that as the mouse is moved from left to right the banner will slide appropriately. Its possible that some java script might also have been used with flash.  If someone could point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.  Thank you.

It is a Flash design and is unlikely javascript is involved with the interaction.  There are probably a couple of ways to approach such a design, but if you have no experience with Flash, you will probably struggle to create it.  The basics involve place the different images  in a movieclip and controlling the horizontal position of that movieclip based on mouse interaction/position.  THe position controls are based on what values are needed to have a particular section of the movieclip occupy the main section of the viewing area.  Actionscript Tweens are probably employed to manage the position transitions.

  • Is it possible to flip the multiple choice quiz "radio" button from left to right of the answers?

    Hello forum,
I am using Captivate version 6.1.0.319 on a Windows 7 desktop PC and would like to know if it is possible to flip the multiple choice quiz "radio" button from left to right of the answers. I am working on a project that uses the "Require Right to Left composer" within the Global Preferences: General settings. The captions has been switched from left to right but the quiz answer radio buttons did not. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
I'm not aware of such a possibility. A workaround could be to create your own MCQ slides, using standard objects and widgets like the radiobuttons widget (there is an enhanced version created by Jim Leichliter) and advanced actions. These articles were written for previous versions, but can give you an idea about the work involved:

  • Camera Raw crops my image from left and right

As you can see in the screen cap, camera raw inside AE opens my timelapse images cropped from left and right. I had this problem before in photoshop too, but never tried to fix it. I'm now in serious trouble and need to find a solution ASAP.

I'm guessing that you cropped in camera and when you shoot RAW the crop is honored but can be removed. I would use Lightroom. Set up a preset that resets the crop and process all of the frames and then export a png or if you want to do some advanced color correcting in AE, select any of the 32 bit image formats and render your resized images to a specific folder. Then import the images as an image sequence in Premiere Pro or AE and do the rest of the work. Importing an image at a time into AE and sequencing the layers in nuts...IMHO
One other thing, before you shoot any more images with this camera go through the menu and reset it to not crop your images.

  • Breadboard will not scroll left or right.

    Hi pkbsr.,
I'm using Windows 7 on my computer, and that is definitely not what I'm seeing. However, if clicking the scroll wheel is showing the Alt-Tab flip, then Multisim will not be able to scroll. (It is a quite complicated, but if you are seeing the Alt-Tab flip, Multisim will never know that the scroll wheel was clicked.)
I did  a quick search online to try to come up with why Windows might be intercepting the click. Do you have any Windows customization software installed, for example AutoHotKey? If not, are you able to scroll using the scroll wheel in other applications? For example, in Internet Explorer
    Browse to ni.com
Resize the window so you see scroll bars
Click the scroll wheel and you should see the icon highlighted by the red box in the image below. If you move your mouse around, the page should scroll.

  • Intensity Chart X scale flip = image drift

Hi all! When programming one application for measurement I encountered following problem. Because scanning in this measurement is performed at first from left to right and then immediately from right to left I write the data to intensity chart and when the end of scanning region is reached I flip the x axis and I write the chart history data into history of the chart but in reversed order . This creates the effect of preserving the image as it was during previous scan (only flipping itself without writing the reverse history would also cause flip of the already drew image).
All seems to work smoothly but if you run it you see small drifting of the image when reaching the edges. On the right the image drifts to the left a bit and on the left to the right.
    What does it cause?
    Thx a lot.

    Hi and thanks again.
Now I realized why Gerd didn't see anything - When testing different datasets I forgot to switch the 'transpose' to false. So please do it and then you will clearly see the shift - maybe focus on the white part in the middle of the picture.
I am sorry for that inconvenient.
For the same reason Altenbach we had totally different results of power consumption. The original data has 8001 dbls for one vector(not 100) which in your example results in really high CPU usage(around those 50%)
My measurement with correct data (reading vi excluded, no delays):
    Mine: 60-70ms
    Yours without cursor: 1200ms
    Yours with cursor: 9200ms
I am still trying to come with some logical explanation for the shifting because using the picture control seems to bring a lots of work and troubles

  • Flipped Image

When I run the isight camera in xp via bootcamp by double clicking the isight icon under my computer a screen pops up allowing me to take pictures with it. However, the image is flipped horizontally meaning when I move to the left I can see the image of myself moving to the right. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

Nope, printing to a PDF "unflips" the image. And I get the same behavior printing to both my Epson photo printer and a Samsung laser printer. Not a huge deal, if I un-rotate the image and print, it prints flipped. Tried it with a recent digital (not scanned) image and got the same behavior. I discovered the "problem" after scanning a B&W negative taken back in 1973. I use an Epson V600 scanner and normally flip and rotate as part of the scanning process; however the scanner had problems determining the edges of the 35mm frame since it is a picture of a window surrounded in black. I had to resort to using the marquee and manually selecting the frame to scan. Doing so doesn't allow you to flip and rotate during the scan, so you have to do that in Aperture.
Again, not a big deal as long as I know how to manage it. And I rarely flip images - only in the type of situation noted above. I almost would not have noticed it, except that I was comparing the inkjet print to a silver print I made of the negative back in the '70's.
Thanks for all the suggestions to try and narrow this down, but I am perplexed that you do not seem to get the same behavior.
