Flush the Access Server cache automatically

Hello,
I'm trying to follow Oracle® Access Manager Deployment Guide 10g (10.1.4.3) and note ID 403899.1 to allow the user/group cache to update when we call the userservcenter and groupservcenter functions in OAM. I've seen other threads about this, but could derive an answer to my question.
The instructions say:
4. Add a dummy AccessGate using the configureAccessGate command line tool, as follows:
configureAccessGate -i COREid_install_dir/identity/ AccessServerSDK -t AccessGate
Question: Am I really adding an accessGate here, or am I configuring the one I already have (which is really being used as a WebGate I guess since it's protecting web resources)?

I went ahead and used the current AccessGate/WebGate with the configureAccessGate command line tool and that seemed to work, but I'm still not getting the result that I'd like.
1. I can access a page protected by OAM because I'm in a LDAP group.
2. I use IdentityXML call to unsubscribe me from the group.
3. I refresh the page, and can still access the page.
Is it possible get this to flush the cache when the IdentityXML function is called?
I changed the doAccessServerFlush to true, used the configureAccessGate to configure the AccessGate/WebGate, changed the Access Management Service on the AccessGate and Access Server to On, and bounced everythying.

OAM - Identity Server Cache Flush to Access Server

In OAM, a feature is that any user profile change in identity server could be updated to access server cache. Currently, we run into problem. the cache flush is a water fall process, from one identity server to an access server then to all other access servers. If one server hangs and does not respond, all servers may hang (that happens to us).
I would like to know if you are using this feature and if you run into the same problem. You can also comment if this is a necessary feature and/or a troublesome feature. I would appreciate your any contribution. Thank you!

I am facing issue while setting up the automatic cache flush for access server.It looks like you were able to set up this. Can you please provide bit more details?. I have tried by setting -
a. Parameter doAccessServerFlush in basedbparams as <NameValPair ParamName="doAccessServerFlush"
Value="true"/>
b. An Access Gate has been configured under /identity/AccessServerSDK
My requirement is to flush the changes to the Group membership in a group. Are there any specific restrictions on what is included in user cache?.

"Exception Processing Message" error when clicking the Accessing Server Data link on the start page

When I first started the application, I click the Accessing Server Data link on the start page. I immediately got the error "Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c in a dialog box titled "Windows - No Disk". I had to used Task Manager to remove the box after closing Flash Builder 4. I then tried the video tutorial on "PHP Services in Flash Builder 4". I keep receiving an error during service introspection trying to connect to the PHP class. It was the same error as the other individual "Cannot Connect to PHP Service". So I tried another tutorial and generated a sample PHP class. I moved a datagrid on to the stage, droped in the getAllItems function, and configured the return type. However, when I ran the app, I received the same error "Exception Processing Message" again. I have attached the screenshot of the error in addition to my phpinfo and log files.

"The exception process message" is definitely a issue. Is it happening consistently, if so can you file a bug at bugs.adobe.com/flex and give out your machine config details, and the error log.
With regards to generating a new php file and the introspection error that you are getting, looking at the logs it probably is two fold.
First off the name of the file and the class name should be the same, are you having employeeServices as the name of the class in employeeServices.php file.
Second, It seems prior to generating this new file, you had a syntax error at line 5.
It would be easier to figure out what the error is, if you can also attach the php file, by removing any sensitive information in that.

How to configure the Access Server?

Hi All
I am in the process of migrating from 11.0.1 to 12.0.
I have some real-time jobs.
For this I need to configure the Access Server.
I can understand I should do this from Server Manager>Edit Access Server Config>Add
Here what info we need to give? Does it mean we need to give the server name on which current version is installed? How to choose the port?
My old version DI 11.0.1 is using port 4000. Also in the DS Mgmt Console, I am defaultly getting the Old Job Server in the Adapter Config node. How to remove this?
Someone plz help me on this.

You have to explicitly share directories on external/secondary volumes.
Use the Server admin app to configure file sharing, and select which directory/directories on the second drive you want to share, then they'll be available to clients.

Write in the access manager cache

Hi,
I use AM 2004Q2 with the portal server. I also use IDM to manage portal identites. From IDM, I want to change portal LDAP attributes. Precisely, I want to change the value of the attribute of sunPortalDesktopDpDocumentUser.
So from IDM, I make a call to a java class that does the change of the sunPortalDesktopDpDocumentUser attribute which is stored in the portal LDAP.
At first I used jndi to make my changes directly in the ldap. My change was stored in the ldap but since access manager uses a cache, the change I had made in the ldap was, in some cases, overwritten by the cache.
So I was advised not to make my change to the ldap but directly to the cache.
here is the piece of code that does the job.
          AMStoreConnection conn = new AMStoreConnection(adminToken);
          AMUser user = conn.getUser(userdn);
          String attribXML = user.getStringAttribute("sunPortalDesktopDpDocumentUser");
          ModifyDP mdp = new ModifyDP();

Actually Access Manager has an Event Mechism which is used to udpate the caches if data is changed in the directory server. This is used in multinode deployments. It�s also used by Portal (which relies on amSDK).
Unfortunately i�m not sure if this is perfectly working in AM 2004Q1 (AKA AM6.1). At least you need the latest patch.
Unfortunately i can not remember if AM6.1 already had an amEventService debug log.
Is there some FW/LB between AM and DS?

I have problem with the BPEL server caching the jar file of Instance

Is there any way to undeploy and redeploy a process where you have changes to the underlying DA, without the BEPL server being restarted. This always works in my Local BPEL server in my Laptop. But when deploying in the hosted BPEL enviroment it becomes a big problem in getting it restarted when ever I MAKE changes.
Is there any other way to disable the Cache of the instance and make it use the newer version uploaded. One more thing if the connection to a database is severed, then the DA will not work until the server is restarted. All the instances using the said connection is failing with either "Invalid Datatype" or "Socket Read exception". Can someone help!!

How to get the app server to automatically call init()

I have servlet called Manage, which initializes a bunch of stuff in its init() method. Can I configure tomcat so that it will automatically call the init() method of this servlet when it is deployed (as opposed to waiting for the first request to come in to initialize it?

Anyway, if you really need to initialize your servlet as soon as your web application starts, you can use in your web.xml something like this:

How does presentation server cache shared by users and roles in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.7

We are running through a scenario where user1 is assigned to role1 and run a report and after couple minutes user1 is assigned to role2 and run the same report, in 2nd run i see an error in saw log, even though there is presentation server cache that was generated by user1 is previous run it s not shared to the same user if his roles is chnaged, Is this expected behaviour ? by the way we dont have any row level security jut object level

The variable DISABLE_CACHE_HIT is used to enable or disable Oracle BI Server result cache hits and not the presentation server cache. So the behavior seems to be correct. You can manage the presentation server cache settings in hte instanceconfig.xml file. When I test it, the IView open too many sessions.

You should specify a sensible value for RESUME RETURN. Maybe 100. using 0 prevents return services ever being resumed automatically.

Following operations will flush the entire plan cache and new batches will require new plans.
Detaching any database
Upgrading any database to compatibility level 90 or above on SQL Server 2005 or above

Altering a database with any of the following commands will remove all plans cached for that specific database.

ALTER DATABASE ..... SET EMERGENCY
The following operations will also remove cached plans for a specific database.

Routing Issue between router and Access Server

We have a Lucent MAX TNT access server, having TAOS version 9.0.9. I
have configured
the default route so that all dialup user traffic is diverted towards
cisco 2611 series router but this
only happens with the IP subnets configured on MAX TNT and cisco router
ethernet interfaces.
We need a solution in which dailup users on MAX TNT with IPs from any network can
be routed towards the cisco router in order to reach the internet cloud accross the Router.

Your message states that you have configured the access server with a default route pointing to the 2611 router. But it does not say whether you have configured a route on the 2611 pointing to the access server for the address range used by the dial pool which the access server uses to assign addresses to dial up users. I suspect this is your problem. I believe that the 2611 needs a route to that address space and that the 2611 needs to advertise that address range if there are any other routers in your network.
