FNDLIBR
Hi,
i have some doubt about this fndlibr and fnd_conncurrent_processes
let me post my understanding here.If something wrong please correct that and let me know it.
FNDLIBR is the program library where only the standard manager picks up the requests from that library and processes the requests.
IF I GIVE ps -ef |grep FNDLIBR and output is 31 it means that the standard manager is processing (currently running) 31 requests.for every concurrent request it runs currently it will create a
process in the fndlibr program library.
will there be the same number of processes in the fns_concurrent_processes when i give select count(*) from fns_concurrent_processes?
how the about the no of request in the actual column of the concurrent manager--->administer--->actual column.will it be 31 ? (o/p which i got above on executing ps -ef |grep FNDLIBR)
please correct me
IF I GIVE ps -ef |grep FNDLIBR and output is 31 it means that the standard manager is processing (currently running) 31 requests.for every concurrent request it runs currently it will create a process in the fndlibr program library
Not only standard manager processes(31), it includes other concurrent manager processes also.
will there be the same number of processes in the fns_concurrent_processes when i give select count() from fns_concurrent_processes?*
fnd_concurrent_processes and also $FND_TOP /SQL/AFRQRUN.SQL which lists all Running,Terminating and Paused requests.

FNDLIBR defunct process on RAC/PCP
Hi,
EBS - 12.1.3
DB - 11.2.0.1
OS - Redhat Linux
In one of our client we have RAC with PCP setup.
We are facing issue of FNDLIBR defunct process on one of our application node.
[applprod@XXXXXXX ~]$ ps -ef|grep defunct

applprod 29654 3970 0 Apr12 ? 00:00:00 [FNDLIBR] <defunct>
This defunct process get cleared by itself after some time.
Could you please advise, what causing this process to go into defunct state and get cleared by itself.A defunct process, just like a regular process, may be able to keep a file open on the filesystem. If you stop the environment to take a backup, and processes are still left running when the backup starts, the backup is not clean. Doesn't matter if the process is defunct or not. It's the system telling you there is a problem with a process. The bigger picture is that they often go away by themselves, but after what time ? Is it 1 second, 1 minute, 1 hour ... ? The longer, the worse the problem. Some may not go away. In most cases, the explication is that it is a known feature when you stop component X, and you can determine an average time frame in which these processes continue to live, before they are gone.
FNDLIBR and defunct are know to be a common combination spotted, but they should disappear after some minutes, assuming no requests are still running. -
Concurrent managers FNDLIBR growing over 254 Mbytes at peak workloading
Hello
i have a problem that my FNDLIBR processes grow with no limit and take lot of CPU
i implemented the note below to bounce processes that take 100mb or more.
but i have now FNDLIBR that crrosed 100mb and still not killed
maybe someone understand what is exactly ?
FDMXHEAP=1000000
Original top of heap : 3135712
Current Top of Heap : 4143328
Observed Growth : 1007616
and how to find this values?
264752.1
1. Create the file $APPL_TOP/custom.env
2. Add the following 2 lines (FDMXHEAP set to 10000000 or whatever value seems appropriate)
The value 10000000 is equivalent to 10MB.
FDMXHEAP=10000000
export FDMXHEAP
3. Bounce concurrent managers.
4. The expected behaviour for FDMXHEAP is that it measures the growth of the FNDLIBR.
The value set for variable is not an absolute value, for example:
FDMXHEAP=1000000
Original top of heap : 3135712
Current Top of Heap : 4143328
Observed Growth : 1007616
Only when the growth of the memory heap exceeds the value set by FDMXHEAP,
will the process be terminated and a new process started.I did the changes in configuration file and bounced conc 10 days ago
but now the processes exceeded 100m and still running without kill and restart
maybe the parameter are not correct
i can't understand what is the delta betweens current heap size and original heap size
and how to check it
what numbers should be used in order to avoid FNDLIBR to cross 100M ?

Concurrent Manager gives FNDLIBR.exe - Application Error in Windows 2003.
Hi,
I upgraded our Oracle EBS 11.0.3 on HP-UX to EBS 11.5.10 on Windows 2003 (Oracle Financials and Order Management)
We have one issue which I am not able to resolve for a long time.
1) 2-3 times a day Send Notifications for Purchasing Documents concurrent program Complets with Errors and this is causing FNDLIBR.exe error.
2) This causes a pop-up window to appear in the Servers Console with FNDLIBR.exe - Application Error and they have to click OK to get rid of this pop-up window.
3)Send Notifications for Purchasing Documents concurrent requests usually completes in less than a minute but one or two these requests run for 2-3 hours and these are the ones that are causing FNDLIBR.exe issue.
4) Patch 5567785 was applied but still we are getting the same FNDLIBR.exe issue.
5) If we don't click OK in the FNDLIBR.exe popup windows on the server's console and if it accumulates for 2-3 days, then all the concurrent requests go to Pending and starts Running only after click OK to clear all the FNDLIBR.exe pop-ups.
5) The event viewer shows:
Faulting application FNDLIBR.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.4455, fault address 0x0002a413.

Faulting application FNDLIBR.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module SQLLIB80.DLL, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00009ef0.
6) Send Notifications for Purchasing Documents concurrent requests runs POXWARMG.sql
7) This documented in Bug 5841575 - SEND NOTIFICATIONS FOR PURCHASING DOCUMENTS FAILING INTERMITANTLY
Please suggest a way to workaround this issue.Upgrading to 11.5.10.2 is ruled out by the users. I opened SR but not very useful.
Rgds,
ThiruHussein,
All Conc Rgsts are working fine. Only this one is failing 2-3 times a day. This is scheduled to run every 10 mins.
Is it really required to relink and give a try?

How many FNDLIBR are running?
Hi:
What does this command mean: ps -ef|grep FNDLIBR|wc -c ? I got 3339 returns. Thank you!
11.5.10.2
unixHI,
This command will retrurn the total number of characters found the ps -ef|grep FNDLIBR.
But it is of no use. You can use the following to know how many concurrent managers are running.
$ps -ef|grep FNDLIBR|grep -v grep |wc -l

An Unhandled win32 exception occured in FNDLIBR.exe[5796]
Hi
I Installed successfully Oracle12(12.0.4) on windows 2003 server .But while running concurrent request i am getting a popup window which contain the error Message as Follows "An Unhandled win32 exception occured in FNDLIBR.exe[5796]"
what could be reason for the Popup window error?
Thanks
With Regards
UmairUmair,
Stop the CM, and relink FNDLIBR.exe from adadmin, start the CM then and see if you can submit the request again.
Can you find any errors in the Event Viewer?

Hi.
This morning there was an FNDLIBR application error on the WIndows server. Since then all requests were held up and stuck in pending. I resolved this by shutting down cc managers, running cmclean then startingup cc managers again.
How can I track the failure (time was at 02:30) with a particular request? I have checked in $COMMON_TOP/admin/log/<SID> and there are logs generated for around that time but all requests seems to have ben serviced and completed.
I would like to explain to the client why this happend. I have checked ICM log on but it only gives me today's events - unless I am looking at it wrongly.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated on this.
Thanks.
DADan.
All the files are either .req or .mgr (there are none with the .err extension).The CM log files are with .mgr extension, so do not expect to find any .err files.
I can see that there is a .mgr logfile written to at around the time the error was recorded, but in this file there are no errors - the final entry reads:
(w1218903.mgr)
14-JUL-2009 02:25:55
Starting concurrent program CMCTCM for concurrent request 722394 (MODULE=d:\oracle\prodappl\bom\11.5.0\bin\CMCTCM)Did you review the ICM log file? You can get the log file directly from the application (Concurrent > Manager > Administer).

Chirag PatelHi,
but when i loged into application using SYSADMIN user then home page is not showing System Administration responsibilitySystem Administration is a different responsibility, and also can be accessed from the same window (Security > Responsibility > Define), make sure this one is not end-dated as well -- I believe this has nothing to do with the error. If the responsibility is valid, then run the following concurrent programs, bounce Apache and check again.
- "Sync responsibility role data into the WF table."
- "Synchronize WF LOCAL tables"
- "Workflow Directory Services User/Role Validation"
Did you try to restart the failed workers via adctrl after logging to the application?

23
What this value 23 is ?? count of which process...no of standard managers...no of workers....no of concurrent processes running...please explain.Hi Hussein,
Got the answer
FNDLIBR---> Every concurrent manager runs program defined in a library (LIBR).
Many conc programs(like ICM,CRM,SM....) run programs defined in FNDLIBR Program library.
So if u see any FNDLIBR processes running means, behind the scenes a concurrent manager is running this FNDLIBR and a concurrent manager can only run this when it is up.
So the bottom line is if u see any processes after running this command then ur Conc managers are up|^.
So whats the difference between FNDLIBR and FNDCPMBR...?? -
Large number of FNDSM and FNDLIBR processes
hi,
description of my system
Oracle EBS 11.5.10 + oracle 9.2.0.5 +HP UX 11.11
problem : ther are large number of FNDSM , FNLIBR and sh processes during peak load around 300 , but even at no load these processes dont come down , though oracle processes
come down from 250 to 80 but these apps processes just dont get killed automatically .
can i kill these processes manually??
one more thing , even after stopping apllications with adstpall.sh , these processes dont get killed , is it normal??, so i just dismount database so as to kill these processes
and under what circumstances , should i run cmclean ?Hi,
problem : ther are large number of FNDSM , FNLIBR and sh processes during peak load around 300 , but even at no load these processes dont come down , though oracle processesThis means there are lots of zombie processes running and all these need to be killed.
Shutdown your application and database and take a bounce of the server as there are too many zombie processes. I have once faced the issue in which due to these zombie process CPU utilization has gone to 100% on continuous count.
Once you restart the server, start database and listener run cmclean and start the application services.
one more thing , even after stopping apllications with adstpall.sh , these processes dont get killed , is it normal??, so i just dismount database so as to kill these processesNo it's not normal and should not be neglected. I should also advice you to run the [Oracle Application Object Library Concurrent Manager Setup Test|https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=200360.1]
and under what circumstances , should i run cmclean ?[CMCLEAN.SQL - Non Destructive Script to Clean Concurrent Manager Tables|https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=134007.1]
You can run the cmclean if you find that after starting the applications managers are not coming up or actual processes are not equal to target processes.
Thanks,

I would also suggest you shutdown the application services, run adadmin, and relink all FND executable files. Try to start the CM then.
You can also run cmclean.sql after relinking all executable files via adadmin.

12.1.3 - FNDLIBR's keep dying
I am in the midst of an R12.1.3 implementation on RH Linux. Things were working nicely until today in our User Acceptance instance.
Noticed some of the Concurrent Mangers were not running. App tier has been shut down and restarted a few times. Bounced the database and listener also but after successfully starting they start to die (defunct). The log file will show "Found dead process:" and then "Starting STANDARD Concurrent Manager" again.
If I look at the Standard Manager and it shows Actual=0 where target =8 and Pending is 23.
I tried shutting down and running Concurrent Manager Recovery' but it seemed to think there were two pid's still running that 'ps -ef' didn't show.
I've tried shutting down and running cmclean now also but to no avail.
Any other things to try before I roll back to a previous backup?
This is not Prod but basically pre-prod.
I've looked at: Why Are Dead Process Found In The Standard Manager Log File? [ID 246584.1]
What about this?
update fnd_concurrent_requests
set phase_code = 'C',
status_code = 'D'
where phase_code = 'P' and
requested_by != 0;
Help!Here's what I've found.
Example of ORA- errors in alert log. Every 5 minutes.
Thu Dec 29 10:07:18 2011
ORA-1652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace TEMP2
Thu Dec 29 10:12:20 2011
ORA-1652: unable to extend temp segment by 16 in tablespace TEMP1
It seems like the TEMP error is being caused by this OEM select statement:
SELECT end_time, status, session_key, session_recid, session_stamp, command_id, start_time, time_taken_display, input_type, output_device_type, input_bytes_display, output_bytes_display, output_bytes_per_sec_display FROM (SELECT end_time, status, session_key, session_recid, session_stamp, command_id, start_time, time_taken_display, input_type, output_device_type, input_bytes_display, output_bytes_display, output_bytes_per_sec_display FROM v$rman_backup_job_details WHERE status NOT LIKE 'RUNNING%' ORDER BY NVL(end_time, start_time) DESC) WHERE rownum = 1
But I'm not sure what the root cause is.
Also should my database have two temporary tablespaces called TEMP1 and TEMP2 (like it does now)?
Shouldn't it just be a TEMP tablespace like in my old 11i rdbms?
select tablespace_name,file_name,bytes/1024/1024 from dba_temp_files;
TABLESPACE_NAME FILE_NAME BYTES/1024/1024
TEMP1 /u10/oradata/xxxxx/db/apps_st/data/temp01.dbf 4000
TEMP2 /u10/oradata/xxxxx/db/apps_st/data/temp02.dbf 4000
Check 11i.
TABLESPACE_NAME FILE_NAME BYTES/1024/1024
TEMP /u10/oradata/xxxxx/temp01.dbf 2000
TEMP /u10/oradata/xxxxx/temp02.dbf 2000
TEMP /u10/oradata/xxxxx/temp03.dbf 2000
TEMP /u10/oradata/xxxxx/temp04.dbf 2000
TEMP /u10/oradata/xxxxx/temp05.dbf 2000
Looks like I have a Temporary Tablespace Group called TEMP so maybe it is the same thing.

Can not request reports after cloning process
hello All,
I am new in oracle please guide me.
I have tried to make the process of cloning from dev machine to test machine, but after that the applications in dev machine was not able to request another report.
With Status: No Manager and phase: Inactive
we use:
RDBMS : 10.2.0.2.0
Oracle Application: 12.0.2(HRMS)
os: AIX 5.3 (64 bit)
I previously tried the ways of my search results on the forums and internet
1. Truncate FND_CONCURRENT_PROCESSES...
truncate table FND_CONCURRENT_PROCESSES;
2. Update FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS as follows:
update fnd_concurrent_requests
set status_code='X', phase_code='C'
where status_code='T'
3. Update FND_CONCURRENT_QUEUES.RUNNING_PROCESSES to zero
update fnd_concurrent_queues
set running_processes = 0;
4. restart conccurent managers,and has not succeeded.
and then I tried another way of information that I got
1. Stop the Internal Concurrent Manager.
2. Connect to the database via SQL*Plus as the APPS user.
3. Execute the following to alter the FNDSM trigger on FND_NODES:
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER fndsm
AFTER INSERT OR UPDATE ON FND_NODES <---- ( "OR UPDATE" I do additional)
FOR EACH ROW
BEGIN
if ( :new.NODE_NAME <> 'AUTHENTICATION' ) then
if ( (:new.SUPPORT_CP='Y')
or (:new.SUPPORT_FORMS='Y')
or (:new.SUPPORT_WEB='Y') ) then
fnd_cp_fndsm.register_fndsm_fcq(:new.NODE_NAME);
end if;
if (:new.SUPPORT_CP = 'Y') then
fnd_cp_fndsm.register_fndim_fcq(:new.NODE_NAME);
end if;
end if;
END;
4. Cleanup the FND_NODES table by executing the following:
SQL> exec FND_CONC_CLONE.SETUP_CLEAN;
5. Run AutoConfig on each node.
6. Restart the Concurrent Managers. and still does not work.
if something is missing or wrong from the way I do or there are other ways more appropriate for me to do?
Thanks,
Bataraearlier thanks for your concern and support for you all ,
I've run as shown in MOS Doc 134007.1 , but it still does not work, and the clone,
actually the clone that we do is still in trial and we have not too much concentration to the test instance as the target system, but the problem is that dev instance as the source system should not in fact the configuration changes become problematic,as not requesting another report.
and this is my next piece of the internal display manager log:

11.5.10.2 Installation on windows 2003 server Cygwin Software.
Hi
I used Cygwin instead of Mks tool kit in apps 11i(11.5.10.2) on windows 2003 server. Installation is completed succefully. I am able to open the forms without error. But while patching I am facing problem. for testing the Cygwin implementation I tried to relink FND programs. I got the error the error message is as follows.
set EnvAdrelink:Error:Cannot Open registry key: \SOFTWARE\ORACLE
aiosp2() Error: failure in usdspn()
contents of error buffer are:
"usdsop cannot create a new process
cause: usdsop encountered an error creating a new process. [Reason].
Can anybody help me the process.

chennus.

Now I format the system and Installed fresh application 11i(11.5.10.2) on windows 2003 EE.Now I select the prerequest software as visualstudio 2008 Express Edition and VC++6.0 redistributable package x86 (Doc ID 1095124.1), Mks toolkit I used 8.1 version and Gnumake I used 3.78.1(Doc ID 268776.1). The Installation is completed Successfully. The application is working fine. While i want to test the adrelink using adadmin I got the following error. adrelink is completed with status 1 and it is completely exit ( Not finished the script and come to command prompt) Here i am enclosing the adrelink log file.
