FOI Documentation

Hello all,
Does anyone know of any Oracle documentation, a blog, website, that goes into detail about how to effectively work with FOI in MapViewer?
Specifically, how best to establish base map, wms, and FOI while only showing FOI in MBR.
I've got to say I hope Oracle really expands the spatial and MapViewer components in 11g and beyond. It's AWESOME.

Anyway, first on the FOI doc question. Its all part of the tutorial.
Deploy mapviewer, load mvdemo.dmp, configure MV and try the tutorials.
Please post more details on the best practices, doc, and use case you'd like to see explained better.
If you'll would like to see more tutorials etc. then add comments to the thread named "MapViewer Javascript API tutorials, doc kudos and gripes". Hopefully the first post will contain a kudos (and constructive criticism :-) )

Displaying a theme-based FOI layer as a whole image with javascript API v2

Hi,
I have looked the Oracle maps V2 tutorial developed in mvdemo.war application provided with Oracle Mapviewer v11.1.1.7. I have looked how to use theme-based FOI layers and I have not found how to set the "whole image" property for these layers. This feature is present in javascript API V1 and it greatly improves application performance. Our applications use this property very often.
Is this property present in javascript API V2 but not documented?
If it's not present, do you know if it will be?
How can we show a layer with many geometry features and obtain the same performance we have now with the whole image property?

since this is a very crucial feature for us I'm very interested in that functionality as well. Is there a comparable functionality in the V2 API or will it be available in feature releases?

Oracle Maps - How to get selected FOI details?

When a FOI is added to the map and a user selects the FOI, I would like to retreive the selected details for that FOI.
Is there anyway to access the FOI details when it is selected? I cant seem to find anything in the object model to help.

If you are talking about theme based FOI layer, then you should read section 8.4.3.9 of the user's guide. You can add a click event listener and an FOI entry data object that contains detailed FOI attributes will be passed to this event listener.
If you are talking about user defined FOI, there is no way to retrieve detailed FOI information from the MapView object through the current Oracle Maps API. I guess your goal is to performance some operation using some FOI specific attributes when the user clicks it. You can achieve this goal by using the foi click listener. We have a method to support it, but it's not documented and its name might be changed in future releases.
The method is FOI.prototype.setFOIClickListener(listenerFunction). The parameter listenerFunction is the listener function that will be called when the user clicks the FOI. Since you can define a FOI specific listener function for each FOI, you can do whatever you want inside it, including performing some FOI specific operations.

Issue with creation of custom layouts using SAP Help Documentation

Hi Experts,
My requirement is to create a home custom page layout (using web dynpro) in Composite Environment. The default options available in CE are not useful for me. I have followed the instructions and followed all the steps, yet I fail to see the application in CE. The custom page layout is not displayed neither in options and is not available any where.

A última atualização tornou tudo lento (introduçã/selecção o de texto/links com o rato, abertura/fecho de abas, etc. Este problema já foi reportado?

Desde a última atualização (33.0.2) o firefox ficou demasiado lento, quer na introdução de texto, quer na selecção de textos ou links (com o rato ou teclas de cursor + shift), ou até abertura de imagens até o funcionamento das abas se tornou lento. Já procedi em conformidade com os tópicos de ajuda sem qualquer sucesso. Apenas quando reiniciei com os extras desactivados resolveu o problema da lentidão. No entanto, após desinstalar todos os extras, o problema perssistiu. ainda me questionei acerca do plugin "openH264 video codec..." que não conhecia mas por pesquisa me pareceu seguro até porque aparentemente faz parte integrante da última atualização.
Experimentei a desinstalar, com o cache totalemente apagado, e instalar uma versão anterior e aí o problema desapareceu, mas quando se deu a atualização automática, tudo voltou ao mesmo... tudo tão lento, que para escrever estas linhas, foi uma aventura.
Questiono então se esta lentidão já foi reportada por outros usuários, ou mesmo pela equipa de desenvolvimento do firefox e se haverá algum novo procedimento que resolva o problema.
Agradeço o tempo prestado, bem como a passível brevidade na resposta.

NFe de 3o foi pro GRC e não volta status

Bom dia pessoal!
Estou dando um help num cliente que usa um sistema externo para enviar ao SAP todas as NFs (de terceiros, de entrada própria, eletrônica ou não). Como esse sistema cria NFs e também recebe NFs de terceiros, toda a numeração chega pronta no SAP - assim, as categorias de NF usadas estão configuradas para aceitar numeração externa.
Com isso, o pessoal se perdeu nas configurações - no SAP é fácil, se é de terceiros, é informado o número da NF, senão, o campo é fechado - e acabou usando uma categoria de NF de entrada própria para registrar uma NF de terceiros, o que gerou o cenário-problema:
1 - a NF-e foi pra SEFAZ (não poderia ter ido);
2 - a NF-e foi com a chave de acesso da NF-e do terceiro (deveria ser composta com o CNPJ do emissor da NF de entrada);
3 - o lote não recebe retorno da SEFAZ (é do RS) - penso que pode ser por causa do emissor ou da chave de acesso com outro CNPJ. Temos então:
-> Lote com status = 04 (Solicitação enviada) / código de status = 104 (Lote processado).
-> No monitor do ERP a NF fica aguardando, não consigo cancelar nem dar reset.
O que eu tentei:
-> Alterar os status do lote para reprocessar (set /XNFE/BATSTA-PROCESS = X). Reprocessou e continuou do mesmo jeito;
-> Alterar status da NF-e na /XNFE/NFE_HIST - nada adiantou;
-> Mais algumas alterações de status lá e cá, nenhuma surtiu efeito, daí voltei para o estado inicial;
-> segui uma dica para outro problema ("Nota fiscal cancelada no SAP e autoriza na SEFAZ" [ onde o Fernando orientou como alterar os status para habilitar um Status Query...... Esse quebrou as pernas em dois lugares...... o status query funcionou, mas com a NF-e do TERCEIRO!!! e voltou autorizada!!!
tá, já voltei os status pro que estava antes, voltando ao ponto anterior... sim, podem rir :P
O que não tentei (queria evitar):
-> Chavear a NF para contingência e cancelá-la.
Enfim, tirando a opção de contingência, alguém tem ideia de como fazer essa bendita NF ter algum status de erro para poder solicitar o cancelamento, ou algo do gênero, que me permita estornar o processo?

Seguinte, no GRC pode ignorar esta nota, matar, o que quiser como você mesmo disse ela não deveria estar ali, e tentar fazê-la retornar ao ERP para pedir cancelamento só irá piorar as coisas.
Se entendi bem, é uma nota externa "registrada" no ERP, então está com o FORM vazio. Você terá que reverter os status manualmente no ERP, pegue uma nota "equivalente" e sincronize os status.
Para evitar nova transmissão de NF-es externas (sem formulário) aplique as SAP Notes 1396498, 1368159 e 1518476.

Ops, li novamente e acho que o erro foi ter registrado com a categoria com formulário, né? Isto também teria que ser revertido manualmente.

Não sei se o senhor já conseguiu resolver seu problema já que a mensagem é bem antiga. De qualquer forma, queria dar uma dica.
Esse fórum é feito para usuários e pelos usuários. A Apple não dá assistência oficial através dele. Dessa forma, não é muito seguro que o senhor informe dados pessoais como telefone, número de RG, número de nota fiscal, etc.
Aconselho que o senhor edite essa mensagem e retire esses dados.
Sobre o seu problema, aconselho que entre em contato com o Decon ou Procon de sua cidade e peça alguma orientação, ou o senhor poderia entrar em contato com a Pró-teste, que é a associação de defesa do consumidor do Brasil.
De qualquer forma, se precisar de ajuda, estou à disposição.

I can find videos but they are a poor substitute for professionally prepared documentation. Where is Adobe's documentation of Creative Cloud services?

Mobile iPhone Application for SAP B1 Documentation

SAP releases the following statement on their landing page for their customers about using iPhone App in version 8.8. Direct copy and paste:
I am already using SAP Business One. Are there any requirements to be able to use this app?
You need to be running SAP Business One version 8.8 with a professional user license. Before you start using the app, make sure your SAP partner configures the mobility settings in SAP Business One.
Where is the documentation that is the checklist for installing and getting the mobile app up and running? You know, the usual documentation from step A to Z - go to Add-ons and do this, go to User and do this, etc. All I can find are videos/documents that are marketing oriented. I have the user guide "Setting Up Mobile Scenario in 8.8", but it is woefully lacking in several steps (ie, it says some fields are mandatory, but SAP does not even mention what "code" column is supposed to mean).
Anyone else have any luck digging out the pertinent information from SAP sites which SAP should have prominently highlighted to its partners before rolling this out? Where can I find it?
This all seems to be a rather disconnected roll-out.

Until it is changed, select "Updates" (not the other areas stated in some documentation, videos, and threads) and select "SAP Business 8.8", then "B1 8.8 Integration Component", and then it can be downloaded.

Where do I read in the documentation the list of the system properties?

Yep. Sounds stupid. But it's true. I read in all these forums where and how to set the truststore and so on but it would be beautiful to understand it my own.
1. First I read setting the -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore in the VM arguments.
2. Then I find out the the -D is just for setting something like a static property.
3. Next I want to read about the system properties. Who, what and where the Java tries to get this system property. I do not find it.
What I find is great help in these forums and solving this kind of problems seems easy... I googled and the only place I found info about this is in a boulder.ibm.com site:

I have to admit that it is documented. Yes. But I didn't expect to find that in middle of a guide. But more in a reference or in a specification document. It's inside the "Customization" and in a table, yes... But it's a guide!!
I like Java but something to worry about is the "too many - too less" documentation. Documentation is not clear enough and all the hundreds of options you have can make the programming with Java no good. It would sound like a good thing have a lot of choices and hundreds of places to look info for but I am a bit disappointed with that. It's not clear enough to find the right info.

Customizing header and footer in the printed documentation

I'm using a trial version of RoboHelp 2007 and Word 2003.
I have two question about customizing the header and footer
of the printed documentation.
In the printed documentation the footer repeat at the bottom
of each page and contain page numbers, which appear left-justified
on even-numbered pages and right-justified on odd-numbered pages.
How can I customize the footer, that pages numbers appear
always right-justified?

You can't from RH. See the article on my site.
Images in the header are tricky. If you use the setting that
I think enables that, you will also get the images in the TOC. Try
putting a two cell table and putting the heading in one and the
image in another.

Unable to Generate Printed Documentation in PDF Format

This past week I started having a consistent error when attempting to generate a Printed Documentation layout. This error reads "Internal error encountered, Failed to generate Printed Documentation." Prior Printed Documentation builds on this same project completed fine. Nothing was done to the Help project between the times when this worked and when it no longer was able to create Printed Documentation.
I receive this error even if I generate an entirely new "blank project" build, and then attempt to create a Printed Documentation build from this new blank project. Researching this error, I see this has been a reoccuring problem with this product for some time. The few threads that list the problem as having been "fixed" provide resolution steps that have not worked in my case. Right now I am waiting for our IT Helpdesk people to re-install the Suite. Hopefully this will resolve this problem.
Additional information on this problem - PDF Printed Documentation is failing - the HTML build works fine. If I select just a .DOC Printed Documentation output, this also works correctly. The resulting Word document looks good, although hyperlinks do not work within this Word document. I have reloaded Office 2003 as a troubleshooting effort, but this has nbot resulted in any change in symptoms.
The entire error text is enclosed below, although several other people have also done this in past entries. The few lines that read "Warning, and then report a style issue is NOT the problem here. As stated earlier, when I do this same Printed Documentation build on an entirely new "blank project" it does not work, and the Output text in that case does not contain any such "Warnings" about Styles.

If I select ONLY the Word DOC Output format in the Printed Documentation
setup, the output is created without an error (output text below). Links do work within
this Word document (a symptom change since installing patch 8.0.2).
When I use this Word document to create a PDF (using the Adobe PDF
printer driver) a PDF is successfully created, however no bookmarks are
created in the bookmarks panel and none of the links in this PDF work
(although they are created looking like they will work, i.e., blue
underlined text).
