FOI error with ORA-01013

Has anyone encountered an error on displaying a Theme based FOI that results in
ORA-01013 user requested cancel of current operation
The FOI in question is displaying the 30 nearest points to where the click was made on the map.
This occurs when there is more than minimal load on the server, so it is so far impossible to replicate in a development environment.
Any suggestion for resolving this would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I forgot to mention the version of Mapviewer: Ver1033p5_B081010

    Hi Srini
    We have had a SR open from the start of March at a serverity 2 and its got nowhere. They say unless they can get a trace of it happening they cant do anything and since the problem is intermittent and not reproducable thats impossible to get as we have 800 users and between 300 to 400 pos being created a day.
    I am hoping that maybe someone may have an idea of a direction i can look at on the forum as we are pulling our hair out.

  • Scheduled Web Intelligence report fails with ORA-01013 and WIS 10901

    Hi,
            the environment I'm working in is BOXI R2 SP4 on a Solaris 10 server using WebLogic running against Oracle 9i database.
    I have a report written by one of the users. In SQL Viewer the SQL detailed is two joined Select statements. Each time this report is either scheduled or refreshed is fails with an ORA-01012 and WIS 10901 error.
    I am of the understanding that this failure relates to the fact that the 'Limit Execution Time To;'  value is being exceeded.
    I also understand that this value is infact divided by the number of Select statements present, and that each Select statment is them allocated an equal portion of this value.
    If any of this is incorrect please correct me.
    I therefore have two questions
    1. As such would I be correct in assuming that in my scenario where 2 Select statments are present and where the execution limit is set to 30 minutes, that each Select has 15 minutes to complete, and that if either fails the ORA-01012 and WIS 10901 error is generated.
    2. Also would this error message get generated as soon as the first failure occurred, or would BO initiate a cancellation of the SQL by Oracle, ORA-01012, only when the final request has either succeeded or failed.

    The queries are not executed in parallel but in serial. So the total execution time configured will be for all the Select statements in the report combined.
    As for your second question, since the execution is not parallel hence BO will not initiate any error message until the total execution time exceeds the defined limit. This could be during the execution of first select statement or the second.
    Try executing the queries directly in database one by one and see how much time they are taking.

  • BUG: preview report template errors with ORA-01002

    I've checked on my local install and on apex.oracle.com. I go into the Templates of Shared Components and filter on the Report Templates. Although the preview icon is displayed to allow me to preview the template, I always receive "ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence" on an error page. The only types of Report Templates I have are of type "Generic Columns" so not sure if the problem exists with "Named Columns."
    Can anyone confirm this or correct me on this?
    Shane.

    I wouldn't mind piggy-backing this to ask if the Report Template "shortcut" links at the top of the page can be updated to account for all sections that are now a part of the Report Template. "Before Each Row" and "After Each Row" sections are not listed in the shortcuts. There are also two shortcuts listed as "Before" and "After" which should probably be relabeled.
    Shane.

  • Impdp errors with ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into

    Hi Experts,
    I have very intresting situation when I use impdp to import table back to DB.
    Environment:
    Database Server: 10.2.0.4 Enterprise
    OS: RHEL 5.5 64-bit
    We have a table and it's size is 350+ GB and so to reclaim space I want to perform expdp/impdp operation. When I following below steps:
    1) expdp table
    2) drop table
    3) impdp full table
    It works like a charm and I am able to reclaim 83% space and table size shows about 20GB.
    But when I follow below method:
    1) expdp table
    2) truncate table (To save some time not to import indexes, stats, constraints , etc)
    3) impdp table
    I get following error:

    expdp and impdp operations should not be executed as SYS - try SYSTEM account instead. See first Note section here - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/dp_import.htm#sthref243
    Pl post the complete expdp and impdp commands used, along with a description of the table for which you encounter this error.

    We do not seem to be experiencing the problem stated in the bug in our internal environments. our dev env's are
    findv11i, fin115p & fin115pn.
    However we encountered it once and before we could figure out what caused this problem, it disappeared.
    We are unable to find what could be causing it. The workflow is a Account Generator.
    thanks,

    Narayanan,
    Did you check the version of AFFFWKFB.pls on your system ?
    Looking at the bug text, you need to ensure that you have version 115.28 or higher.
    Patch 2415800 - AOL/FLEXFIELDS 11.5 MINI PATCHSET FOR JUN/2002 is a suggested patch to
    apply to get the required version of AFFFWKFB.pls.
    I would suggest applying this patch to check that this resolves the error.

  • ORA-01013 User requested cancel of current operation

    Hi
    I'm stuck with ORA-01013 on RDBMS 7.3.2.3.0 on OpenVMS 7.1. Yes, I know the product is long time desupported by Oracle, but some systems are built to last ... (!)
    My client application is built with Forms 4.5; the application has a trigger running a longlasting database maintenance job.
    Depending on overall system load ORA-01013 may show up more often, causing the application to fail, and job must be re-started. Setting the SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME=0 (on server and client) apparently has no effect (I restarted the client only after changed settings).
    I found bug no 590961 on metalink, and there should exist a patch held by global support, but no direct link. And there is no way that I may register issues for 7.3 using Metalik.
    Upgrading Oracle to a supported version is unfortunately no option. Any suggestion for corrective actions that can be taken; it surely would be appreciated?

    ORA-01013 is not an error message, it says someone/something (mostly a human) has interrupted the running application. You cannot avoid this by changing parameters or settings. Maybe users are too impatient and hit the interruption keys, if they think the application is stuck.

  • Run Time error 40002. ORA-01013

    I have a run-time error 40002 when running an application (VB5). This is the following message I have when a selection query is executed(with 9 joins):S1T00:[Oracle][ODBC]ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation.
    The query takes, wheter with ODBC test or Sql+, 5 minutes to be executed. This is too long for a user who is waiting for a result. I was wondering if there are otpions to set, or optimization rules or paramters to set, or if a patch exists for this bug
    Thanks for any answer.
    null

    Your run-time error is probably being generated because the your query timeout is being exceeded. If your query takes 5+ minutes to run, this isn't unexpected.
    There aren't any general parameters one can set to "make my queries run faster". There are, however, a number of tools you can use to try to change your query so that it's executed more quickly. The folks on the PL/SQL forum are probably a lot better versed on the art of query optimization than I am, so you may want to ask them for pointers. Alternately, any decent Oracle reference book will probably have a chapter on query optimization.

  • ORA-01013 with Oracle ODBC Driver 8.1.6.3

    I have a very strange problem occuring with the latest Oracle 8.1.6 Driver. I am able to set up the ODBC connection and it tests correctly. I'll open an Access 97 database and attempt to link to a table in an Oracle 8.1.6 through ODBC. I can connect to the database fine and it brings back a list of the available tables. However, when I select a table and attempt to link to it, I get the following error:
    ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation.
    This behavior also occurs if I try this operation through VB 6.0 code.
    Has anyone seen this before or better yet, have an answer as to why it is occurring?
    P.S., I'm using MDAC 2.51

    I wrote the code below:
    create or replace
    PROCEDURE                                    SCHEMA_A."MAI__DWHMIRROR"
    AS
    v_sqlstatement CLOB:='bos';
    str varchar2(3999);
    BEGIN
      select
        replace(
          replace(replace(
          replace(DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL('TABLE','XXXX','SCHEMA_A'),'(CLOB)',''),';','')
        ,'SCHEMA_A'
        ,'SCHEMA_B'
      into v_sqlstatement
      from dual;
      select  CAST(v_sqlstatement AS VARCHAR2(3999)) into str from dual;
      execute immediate ''||str;
    END;
    And Executing this block with below code:
    set serveroutput on
    begin
    SCHEMA_A.MAI__DWHMIRROR;
    end;
    But still getting the following error code:
    Error report:
    ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
    ORA-06512: at "SCHEMA_A.MAI__DWHMIRROR", line 47
    ORA-06512: at line 2
    01031. 00000 -  "insufficient privileges"
    *Cause:    An attempt was made to change the current username or password
               without the appropriate privilege. This error also occurs if
               attempting to install a database without the necessary operating
               system privileges.
               When Trusted Oracle is configure in DBMS MAC, this error may occur
               if the user was granted the necessary privilege at a higher label
               than the current login.
    *Action:   Ask the database administrator to perform the operation or grant
               the required privileges.
               For Trusted Oracle users getting this error although granted the
               the appropriate privilege at a higher label, ask the database
               administrator to regrant the privilege at the appropriate label.

    Thank alot

    I put code (in the on-error trigger) here. please have look, thanks again.
