Folder reference using BO SDK

Please help me with a sample snippet with which I can get access to a personal folder other than favourites folder using ReBean or any other Java SDKs

REbean SDK is for viewing, exporting, setting prompts and doing different sorts of things with webi ( and to some extent Full client) reports, it does not have any BOE administrative APIs. For accessing folders, objects etc. You need to use Enterprise or Platfrm SDK. The query I gave in earlier post will retrieve all users favorite folders.
What do you mean by access "any other folders other than user's favorites?"
If you mean if a user can access other public folders apart from his own favorites folder, then the answer is yes. You need to give appropriate access rights to the user to view the folders you want him to view. But for all of this you can do it via CMC ( setting rights) or use Enterprise\Framework SDK and not Rebean SDK.

Opening QuickTime references using Windows SDK

I'm trying to use Quicktime SDK on the PC to open up a QuickTime reference file so that I can get the reference paths for all of the media contained within the tracks. The reason for this is that we sometimes need to get Windows to authenticate the paths that the reference file points to prior to opening the QuickTime file otherwise it will ask the use to browse for media. Out app is automated without a UI so this is undesirable.
I have been writing a Utility to parse the QuickTime reference file and return the path of the Referenced media in each of the tracks. The problem I am having is that when I open the movie, if the referenced media is unreachable I am prompted by Quicktime to search for the media. I thought that I would be able to resolve this by setting the flag newMovieDontResolveDataRefs. Unfortunately while opening a a movie in this mode doesn't prompt me to search for the media, it also seems to reset the paths of the media files referenced by the tracks to the directory containing my application. This is no help at all. What I need is the original path to the reference file(s), regardless of whether or not the computer is able to reach them. Is this possible, and if not, what is the logic behind this behaviour, it doesn't seem to make any sense - why would I want to break my reference paths?

SAP BO Report Scheduling and Save as report using Java SDK

Hi All,
We have a java product which is integrated with SAP BO using Java SDK and we have certain java screen through which we select report prompt values and webi report gets run.
Now we want to give a functionality to save report to BO repository.
When user select certain check box from java screen a separate copy of the webi report should get saved under default folder on BO repository.
Also, we want user to choose the scheduling option from java screen only (and not the one which we use from BI Launchpad) due to certain access restriction. User does not have access to BI Launchpad. Only he can run report by selecting values through Java screen.
If i need to create a separate screen for scheduling as well as saving webi report then also i am ok with it.
P.S. i guess we need to work on Java SDK level. But could somebody please help me with the right direction?

As you are on version BI 4.0 SP5 and would be migrating to BI 4.1, the best SDKs to use would be the Restful Webservices SDKs.
You have the options to schedule a webi report with prompts as well as the save feature which you require.

If I want to keep some notes only on my device and not in a cloud environment associated with an e-mail account. I've seen reference to the "My iPhone" local storage put no mention on how you create this folder or access this folder within the Notes app. I realize storing information in a local storage like this provides no syncing between other iDevices but that is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm running iOS7.0.4 on a iPhone 5S, and a iPad Air. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to Settings > Notes > Default Account you will see "On My iPhone" as the default account and the only choice if you have not enabled syncing Notes in Settings >iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you have enabled syncing you can still select "On My iPhone" as the default account. When you are in the Notes app you won't see any accounts listed if you have not enabled syncing because they are all in the On My iPhone account and that is the only place possible. It is not a folder that you create.

How to use Iden SDK with WTK 2.5.1 ?

I have installed WTK, and it has been working but I realized I forgot to add the iden SDK for my motorola phone. I installed the SDK but I assume I need to link the files to WTK somehow?
What I am wanting to do :
So... I think I know what I need... I thought I had installed the iDEN SDK from Motorola, but I never did. So I installed the SDK but now I don't know how to use it with WTK. For you people proficient with this I am sure this is a simple task, but for me I am lost.
The SDK has a class file called StatusManager which can retrieve phone battery level...
From documentation:

Is there something so called as the back-door approach to it.
I read in the articles of Struct Objects and Connection that:
If connection is obtained via:
weblogic.jdbc.jts.connection jtsConn = getConnection();
OracleConnection oracleConn = jtsConn.conn;
And this should ideally work in WLS5.1,
but still i wonder how did they obtain the connection.
It would be obligatory if someone could help me with it.

My root folder in Web Apps>Carousel in admin is set at /carousel/ (http://bestinscotland04.businesscatalyst.com/carousel/slide-2 - as an example) but I want it to link to a specific page at the root level (specifically /scottish-menswear/mens-highland-kilt-outfit).
I can't find the controls, css, or html file to enable my picture to link to this product page.
I'm sorry for the amateur question - I've never had formal training and it's always a reverse-engineering situation with me.

One way to address this is to use the Virtual Web Host feature.
I've uploaded a simple application note to help guide you through the steps.
An alternative would be to create an html at /Web/ which forwards to /Web/Joomla. Not a great solution, I know.
I'm sure there is a way to change the setting in a linux configuration file, but I don't know which file that is in. Maybe some other linux savy community members could help out with that?

Cannot read a file using Acrobat SDK in Adobe Reader 11 when Enable Protected Mode is checked

I wrote a plugin using Acrobat SDK which reads a temporary file created by another program in TEMP folder. In Adobe 10, plugin can read the temporary file and everything works. In Adobe Reader 11, plugin fails to read the temporary file when Enable Protected Mode option is checked. When I uncheck this option, everything works fine. Our customers are concerned about disabling this option. Please let me know if there is a workaround for this issue without unchecking the option. Thank you.

Dynamic Image issue using the SDK CrystalReportViewer in a Web Farm

Well it's the classic dyanamic Red X image problem with a twist. We have the CrystalReportViewer control coded into an ASPX web page using the BOE XI R2 SDK.
The problem is everything works fine (after all the usual Red X image fixes) when only one of the servers in the farm are running. It's when two are running, by using Process Monitor, I can tell NetScaler is splitting up the HTTP calls so one server may have the temp image created and of course the other one doesn't.
Therefore, if you're lucky enough for one server to handle most of the load, image comes up fine. Otherwise, the report renders, but you get Red X for the image.
I have seen an article about a registry key (CrystalImageDir) that allows you to enter a network share as the temp folder. The problem is, we are using Windows Integrated Authentication for the intranet site so you're faced the two hop authentication hurtle, leading to access denied on the UNC network path.
Anyone using the SDK in a .NET application using multiple web front end servers?

By the way, I'm hearing that NetScaler can handle sticky sessions. However, since a report with dynamic images is really a GET request for the report, then a bunch of sub-GETs to grab the images, what URL would you set the sticky session for?
For example, if the web page containing the CrystalReportsViewer was:
https://coolapplication.mycompany.com/Site100/ReportApp/ViewReport.aspx
Then report the viewer would contain links to something like:
https://coolapplication.mycompany.com/Site100/ReportApp/CrystalImageHandler.aspx?dynamicimage=cr_tmp_image_5671d67a-4f5d-4ab1-b3c8-0d2561ee64f3.png
So which URL/page gets load balanced? Or is that not how LB works?

Publication using Restful SDK

Hello All,
I am currently on BI 4.1 Sp2 and my requirement is as follows:
I need to setup a publication to external users (non BOBJ enterprise users). Each output will have data pertaining to an ID that the end user is entitled to see which I was able to achieve by Dynamic recepient option (by passing id and email id). But each user wants the report pdf output in different languages. So I want to write a code using SDK to pass the dynamic receipients - ID, email id and preferred language as parameters to the code/report and get the content delivered to email ids as pdf attachments in the language preferred by that user.
I hope I am clear. Basically its report bursting with different langauges to external users. Can you please suggest if it is even possible or not using SDK and if it is possible can you share a sample code for the same.

I believe we cannot use REST SDKs for passing the dynamic recipients in the Publication. The REST SDKs are not mature enough to handle/manipulate the publication present in the Enterprise. However, i think we can perform the basic task like scheduling or getting the publication object information through REST SDKs. The API Guide of REST SDKs, nowhere mentioned that how it works in case of publication.
I will do some more research & will post down my observations.
You can still try the full-fledged Publication SDKs which is still present with the BOE Java SDKs. Please refer the Business Intelligence platform Java SDK Developer guide & API references for get to know what we can do through BI Platform Java SDKs to handle Publications from this link.
Can you please provide mention your BI product version with servicepack & fix pack if any?

Cyclic folder references.

Hi.
I've noticed that iFS prevents cyclic folder references, but I've got a requirement to model some complex relationships between documents and groups of documents and I'd like to be able to do it in iFS via linking folders.
Is there anyway to implement cyclic folder references without writting my own linking or reference code? Is this likely to break/spin the repository?

No, folder relationship cycles are prevented entirely. You can, however, use custom relationships (not FolderPathRelationships) to model the relationships between your documents. We do not prevent cycles on custom relationships.
See the methods addRelationship() and removeRelationship() on oracle.ifs.beans.PublicObject.

Goods Receive for Outbound Delivery Without Reference using MIGO

Dear Colleague ...
We might need your insight on the case below related to Goods Receive of Outbound Delivery without Reference using MIGO:
(1) In the current SAP Enjoy screen of MIGO, we are allowed to select the reference document (e.g. = PO, Material Document, Inbound Document, Outbound Document, etc.)
(2) We did 3 (three) kind of test set: GR for Inbound Delivery, GR for Outbound Delivery with STO and GR for Outbound Delivery without reference.
(3) The first 2 (two) cases work just find with MIGO. We believe it is because the receiving plant is pretty much determined in the reference document, which is PO (case 1) or STO (case 3)
(4) However, the last case came up with the error message "Goods receipt not possible for delivery 8000610236: error code 5". We believe that this is the standard design of SAP, that the receiving plant is required and it is not defined explicitly in the delivery document.
(5) Moreover, we also believe that that's the reason why SAP (via the Logistic Execution module) provide the Handling Unit and Shipment, which can be used to perform such receive function, which will imply the MM posting (goods issue and goods receive) IF there is stock transfer involved.
