Font changed across multiple browsers?
Recently the standard font in my Chrome browser changed to a funky font. I have searched my Font Book for this font to remove it and I cannot find it.
I tried switching the fonts in Chrome Preferences to no effect.
The font changes to this odd font in many text boxes (as in the one I'm typing in right now) but I see a standard Arial/Calibri in the "Question header" text box above this form... so strange.
This went on for weeks until today when I opened my computer and Firefox updated itself. When it restarted, this ridiculous font is now in my text boxes in Firefox as well! I just checked Safari and yes, this blasted font is in Safari as well.
I felt like it had to be a program that I've installed, but looking in my Applications folder, I just don't see anything that looks like it would produce an over-lapping setting for my text boxes...
Does anyone have any suggestions?
thanks!
Brandon
Have u found a solution to it? mine is driving me crazy!

Synchronizing Safari bookmarks across multiple browsers/computers/platforms
I've recently switched back to Safari but now remember why I left: no plugins (that I can find). That being said, I'm tired of storing bookmarks locally and would like to transition to some solution that allows me to either sync or access them from multiple computers, browsers, platform. A critical part of the equation (for me) is that I can access them without having to visit a website each time (i.e. visiting Del.icio.us to click on a bookmark is out).
Thanks in advance for any answers or suggestions.Nevermind. I didn't realize I could sync bookmarks to IE on my PC with MobileMe. That works well enough for the time being.

Find/change across multiple docs in book without opening all first?
I am working on a book that contains hundreds of individual documents. I would like to be able to find/change globally across all documents, but as far as I can tell, I must first open all of the documents in the book so that the scope menu in the find/change dialog contains "All Documents" as an option. Needless to say, having to open more than a dozen or so documents causes my computer to bog down and it's practical.
Am I missing something here? Is there a way for me to make global search/replaces across all docs in a book without opening them? If so, how?I'm not able to check this now, but I believe that FrameMaker can open closed book documents to perform spell checking on them. FM leaves the files open, whether or not corrections were made. I'm not sure if such opened files, in which no corrections have been made, need to be saved when closing them, but the user must close them. Files that contain cross-file cross-references are by default checked for valid cross-reference links, which requires the user to choose Save or Don't Save in order to close them, even if no corrections were made. The link-checking is considered to be a change; some folks consider this a bug, others a feature.
I agree that it's a good feature to request for ID. A related feature request would be the ability to open next or previous ID files when paging through to the start or end of a file that's a member of a currently-opened book.

Search engine changed across multiple devices
I use Firefox on multiple devices - Corporate computer, Home computers (Mac & Windows), and 2 Droid based smart phones. Recently the default search provider changed to yahoo on ALL of them. Totally baffled! I have a yahoo account installed on my droid smart phone for the express purpose of Fantasy Football. I could understand if that provider changed on my phone... but on all devices? I have not logged into that yahoo account on my wife's windows laptop or on her cellphone but yahoo is there.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is this some Government BS? Is Yahoo so desperate that they have have become malware?
How do I permanently stop this?https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/11/19/promoting-choice-and-innovation-on-the-web/
With Firefox 34 the default search engine was changed to Yahoo search within the USA. For a few other countries the default search engine was changed, too. Each user can change "their default" to whatever they want to use for their own searches.

Maintaining session across multiple browsers
Hello All,
We have an application that runs using Apache Struts. One of the requirements is to pop-up a "data look up" window, i.e. a new browser window. The problem is, when I start this window any communication between this new window and server happens on a brand new session. I would like to maintain the same session as the parent window. Any ideas? We use javascript to pass values between a 'data look up' window and the originating Servlet. If this is of any use, I can send you some examples.

I have a budget spreadsheet with a couple recurring tables. As months go by, I sometimes make changes to these tables and would like those changes to be synced across the different sheets in the spreadsheet. Is there a way to sync content across multiple pages, essentially having one true table that appears on multiple sheets?
Abdur,
In the sheet :: table :: cell that is going to receive the data, type an equals sign, then click on the cell that the data will come from and press Return.
This will require that you navigate to the origin cell by choosing the proper sheet.

How to change font attributes on multiple paths at once?
I am trying to change font size on multiple paths at once but as soon as I select them the font options become unavailable (greyed out).
Is it possible to do it?Willi is essentially correct but I think his message is being drowned out by the allcaps enthusiasm
If you select multiple paths with the Selection tool (the black arrow) then you cannot alter type formatting directly. Seasoned InDesign users rarely manipulate type by direct formatting; instead we apply a paragraph style to all of the type, and then change the paragraph style. If all the text on those paths was marked with the same paragraph style, then you could just change the style.
You could do it other ways, but they're all suboptimal. For instance, if all of your text-on-path was set at 11 points, and no other type was set at 11 points anywhere in your document, you could use Find/Change to specify a Find Format and a Change Format under More Options. If all of the paths were marked with the same Object Style, then you could make a new Paragraph Style and specify it in the Object Style.
But if you drew those paths by hand, then they have the Basic Graphics Frame object style applied (like everything else you drew in the document) and if you didn't style the text then every bit of text has the Basic Paragraph style applied (like every other bit of text in the document). So you're either going to do it by hand, or... you're going to follow Willi's allcaps advice. -
Font changes when pasting between InDesign documents
I'm copying and pasting the content of one InDesign CS5 document into another and am finding that the font of my general body text is changing from Times to Minion Pro.
This occurs with all the following methods:
Copy and Paste multiple text frames
Copy and Paste single text frames
Copy and Paste content of a text frame into a new text frame
Drag and Dropping multiple text frames
I can't see any option in Preferences or Character pallette along the lines of 'Paste Remembers Fonts' (in the same vein as 'Paste Remembers Layers'.
I've change the default font in my existing documents to Times and also changed it with no documents open so all new documents have Times as the default.
I've also changed the Basic Paragraph style font to Times.
The correct paragraph styles already exist in both documents and remain in place when I copy and paste. Fonts for all other paragraph styles (eg headings etc) come across correctly, it's only my main body text that changes, with the font of the style showing as overidden.
Of course, I can simply select all the pasted text and clear the overides but I'd rather solve the problem properly.
One glimmer of hope: If I start another new document since changing the default font for new docs, the copy and paste retains my Times font.
Any thoughts? Can I fix my existing document's bad habit or will I need to start again? When I paste the text frames, the paragraph styles remain intact but the font changes to the ID default, Minion Pro. When I click the Clear Overides button, the font reverts to the correct font for the style. There are no Character Style issues that are causing this, it seems purely related to the default font setting.
However, I've found a nice simple solution that I should've tried in the first place. Now that I've set the defaults to what I want them to be and tested this with a new document (as mentioned in original post), it was simply a matter of doing a Save As to get those changes to apply to my existing document.
Thanks for the input everyone. -
Printing Across Multiple Labels
I have a requirement to modify a report that will print data in a designated format. The report was originally designed to accommodate five or less detail lines. Now I have to change the report to accommodate an indefinite number of detail lines that will print across multiple labels. The labels are 2 1/2" wide and 1" high with a Times New Roman font of 5 (small font, but acceptable). The top of the report allows two lines of data for a header. There is a subreport that allows 5 detail lines and a one line footer that totals the detail lines.
This design worked fine when there where only five detail lines. However, there can now be more than five detail lines and these print on the label, losing the footer. What I need to be able to do is to print these detail lines across multiple labels. There will not be header or footer lines on these labels until the last detail line is printed, at which time the footer will print.
I have not been able to figure out how to get labels to continue when the detail lines exceed a specified amount and continue on the next label.
Can anyone offer any assistance, please?
Thank you in advance. Not much info including version of CR but think of it this way, and it may be printer dependent, rather than defining your label size as 2 1/2 x 1 set your page size to the size of a typical printer or a continuous form feed printer. Something that lines up with your labels.
For example is if you print to a laser printer you'll see the label header info and then the multiple detail lines ( this is the Detail section of the designer ) and it prints until no more data then you see the footers being printed.
So what you do is manually space your fields so it lines up with the labels and then it should print all detail lines. You will have to create formula to insert lines to adjust for any missing lines so the labels line up when the footers start printing. Example, you don't won't the footer to start in the middle of a label, unless that is what you do want.
Think of it like a Continuous form Printer rather than a label printer. Depending on the printer and labels being used I'm not sure it will allow you to create a custom paper size, if it does though and you'll have to test this, set it for the maximum length you expect your labels to be printed.
Hope this makes sense?
Thanks

Webpages stop loading after some time across all browsers
I have come across a problem that 2 of the users that I support have been experiencing recently and I am trying to figure out where to begin. They will be able to use the internet, access webpages and everything for some time till at one point seemingly randomly all web browser connectivity becomes stuck at the dialog Connecting and eventually times out trying to connect to the host server. Yet other forms of internet access, like ping and telnet, work just fine at this point. Basically it seems that all traffic going to ports 80 and 8080 times out and I have pulled the logs where I believe this happened and pasted them here:
http://pastebin.com/VPSPwyBe
A temporary fix for this so far is a quick reboot and everything behaves normally for sometime till web access drops and another reboot is required. This is true across all browsers, IE, Firefox, and Chrome on a MacBook Pro Retina 15" running OSX 10.9.4. I have tried fresh installs of all the browsers and switching to a different OS X user account and still have the same problem. I have also tried to flush the DNS using the terminal and that has had no effect. There are no proxies involved and resetting the wireless adapter produces no results. Going to keep searching for some other steps to try to fix this and will keep this thread updated. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Sharing one iTunes library across multiple accounts on the same Mac
Hello, I've poked around at some of the posts dealing with sharing one iTunes music library across multiple accounts on the same Mac but it seems like this can only be done if the libary is moved to a shared folder. I realize this can be done but I was trying to share it the way it is described in a post on Apple support (See link below.). That post seemed to imply that you don't have to move the library from its original location (owned by account A, e.g.), rather just make a couple preference changes in the accounts, use fast user switching and voila. That doesn't seem to work. So my question is this: Is the only way to share one iTunes music library across multiple accounts on the same Mac to move it to a shared folder? I'm running 10.4.8 on an Intel iMac. Thanks in advance!
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93195After reading this and several other related threads, I am becoming thoroughly confused about all of this. I have a situation similar to the one that pokerpal described in the post dated January 7 at 8:06 pm, except that the music files on my system are located on an external hard drive. Everything else is pretty much the same though - I am the admin user (and the main iTunes user and maintainer) and my girlfriend is a standard user who has no music in her own iTunes library. She can see and listen to and make playlists from and sync her iPod with the music in this library from her account, and I can do the same thing, independent of her, from my account. And if I make a change to information within a song, she doesn't see it, and vice versa, and I understand that. What I don't understand is why when I add a song or an album to the music files by importing a CD or downloading something from the iTunes Music Store, she has no way of knowing that unless I tell her, and then she can add it to her library by using the "Add to Library" function. Is there no way of automatically updating her library files to add the new song(s)? We have almost 15,000 songs and videos in that library, and I don't even want to think about what might have to happen if the answer to my question is "no." Interestingly enough, if I put an update to a Word document in the same exact location (on the hard drive), we can update that and pass it back and forth all day - why is that such a difficult task for iTunes to accomplish?
Sorry I went on so long, but this has been building up for some time, and none of the solutions I've read about here have really been of any help, so I'm a bit frustrated and, as I said at the beginning, confused.

Report changes for Multiple sets of books
Hi,
I am new to the financials suite. What changes would be needed in reports to make them global and run across multiple sets of books and currencies.
I was thinking of eliminating any _all tables. I am not sure on what SOB related parameter changes would be needed.
Thanks for your help in advance. Are the existing reports Standard or Custom Reports?
If they are Standard then they should work for any SOB.
If they are Custom Reports then I suggest you to run them in the development instance and see if you are getting any errors.
For more info you can refer to chapter 4 & 5 of multi org user guide in the following link http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25516_08/current/acrobat/115multorg.pdf -
Use ar_receipt_api_pub create_cash API across multiple oper units
Hi,
I have a requirement to create AR receipts across multiple operating units and I am using the AR_RECEIPT_API_PUB's create_cash() to do that. The APIs work fine and I can create receipt in oper unit A. But when I changed to a different operating unit B and call the API, it terminated with NO_DATA_FOUND error.
If I run my same code with operating unit B and then oper unit A, it created receipts in oper unit B but returned NO_DATA_FOUND in oper unit A. That way I confirmed there is no set-up issues with both oper units.
I tried following 4 different ways to switch to different operating unit but all resulted in NO_DATA_FOUND:
1) mo_global.init('AR');
2) mo_global.init('AR'); fnd_client_info.set_org_context(&org_id>);
3) mo_global.init('AR'); mo_global.set_policy_context('M', &org_id) ;
4) mo_global.init('AR'); mo_global.set_policy_context('S', &org_id) ; (My EBS set-up has multi oper units, but I tried 'S' flag because of lack of ideas)
Please help. Thanks!
Mike.@MikeLi,
Did you find any solution for this problem? We are facing this problem on R12 while creating AR receipts across multiple operating units. We will be glad if you share the solution. We have tried all possible ways; but did not help. When we look at the mo_glob_org_access_tmp ; we have access to all organizations; but the api returns 'no data found'
Thanks. -
Flash Crashes across all browsers and recent fatal errors
This problem has basicly been going on for years and my operating system has been resintalled a couple of times before but basicly the problem is that adobe flash player (and Microsoft Silverlight) would crash a browser (IE, Chrome, and Firefox) often. I have tried the fixes ive read about but they didnt seem to work so I just decided to put up with it until I began getting fatal errors. I had my hardware checked out and there are no problems with and all my drivers are up to date.
Flash: 11.5.502.135
Windows 7 (64-bit)
HD 5570 and HD 6870 (upgraded from one to the other but problem still occurs)
Like I said I usually try to put up with flash (and silverlight) crashing my browser but now they crash the browse so badly it forces a bugcheck (or blue screen of death). I have tried to reload my operating system, then updated my drivers, and then in clean boot mode I still get pretty nasty crashes. I think the problem is within one of my drivers but I cant pinpoint which driver is the culprit.

Subject: Flash Player Flash Plug-in Crashes across all browsers despite
re-install
I support a bunch of Mac users and one of them (10.5.7 MBP) ran into this same
problem last week with both Safari and Firefox crashing with the flash player
plugin. If I removed the Flash Player plugin and the .xpt file there was no
crashing but no flash either. I used a combination of different suggestions and
here's what finally worked (so far anyway):
Show package contents for Firefox/Contents/MacOS/components and Get Info
changing perms for read/write for everyone.
Re-installed shockwave plugin using the customized full install (this made no
sense to me since I had made no change to shockwave but as I was testing the
browsers I was prompted to install it, so I did)
Repaired permissions
The version of the Flash Player plugin that ended up installed on this Mac is
10.0.12.36. I started off installing the newer and recommended 10.0.22.87
version but it didn't fix anything. I inadvertently went backwards as I moved
plugins in and out of the Library. I didn't want to change anything once it was
working so I left it at the older version. I hope this helps someone else. -
Matching across multiple character sets
Would like to know whether anyone has attempted matching across multiple character sets, for example, between English and Japanese: what are the pitfalls to avoid, what are the best practices, and what you would like to see from application/tools perspective as an ideal solution. thanks
If you upgrade to Logic Pro, you'll get WaveBurner as part of the package which helps you do this, including tweaking your pauses between tracks, fades etc.
If you have Toast, you can do it there too.
If you don't have any 3rd. party software, the work around would be to assemble all your songs in order, end to end in a new Logic file, and listen to all your tracks and adjust the relative levels between songs, then bounce out the individual tracks which have volume changes with their new volume settings. Finally you could then use any burning app such as [SimplyBurns|http://bit.ly/c1oglP] to create CDs or bounce them out in Logic with the additional .mp3 option.
Obviously it's important to listen to your material in order, in context, as some songs will be at the wrong subjective level depending on the tracks either side in the placement. This isn't really important in digital distribution where your material probably won't be listened to as a whole, but as individual downloads.
