Font toolbar drop menu

The font drop down menu on my Format toolbar keeps saving all the fonts I select and use, even when I change them and no longer wish to retain the font. How do I limit my drop down menus to not saving any of my fonts. I want the drop down menu for easy selections, but I don't want the menu to keep bringing recently-used fonts to the top of the menu and to retain them. Thanks.

CSS problem with drop menu please help!

I have been going crazy for hours trying to use CSS to cover up part of a border, but I can't seem to do it with z-index or anything. My desired effect is to have the border be visible around the menu item and the drop part (only during hover) and eliminate the part that is separating the menu item from the drop box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No toolbar or menu in pdf.

New computer with Windows 8.1 and Adobe XI. On my old computer I was able to enlarge a portion of a pdf map and print it full size. Now I have no toolbar or menu with which to do this. When I right click the menu I get the options: back, reload, save as, print, view page info, rotate, inspect element. When I move the curser to the bottom right on the page I get the options: size to full page, save to file, or print. I can also magnify a section, but I can't print what's magnified. I don't have the toolbar I was used to on the other computer. There must be a way to print an enlarged section. Can anyone help me? Not sure where to post this!

After spending a lot of time searching online for an answer, I found a work around. I open the pdf, save it, open adobe reader, search for the new pdf, open it, enlarge the portion I need, and print it. It is a very cumbersome way to do what I need to do, especially when working with many documents, but at least it gets the job done.

Can't access bookmarks that overflow across the toolbar. They are there but can only get them by going into bookmarks toolbar in menu. They used to display off to side when you clicked next to last item. Can I fix this?

Folio panel drop menu won't drop - can't update articles in folio

I am having trouble with the drop menu on the Folio Builder panel. In the past it has worked completely normally, but today it won't drop at all. Which means I can't update any files, or rename articles etc...
This started yesterday ... so I uninstalled Indesign and downloaded again. It worked. This morning I am trying to continue working on the project and the drop menu wont drop again.
I have reset Indesign preferences... and that still doesnt make the drop menu come back..
any ideas...

This is still a big problem and with the Single Edition licence ending soon, InDesign not functioning as it should be is quite stressful..
No one has answered this question. I have read through past threads and no one has answered others questions about this topic either...
When I try to update an article there is no menu available in the drop menu of the folio.
I have restarted Indesign several times.
I uninstalled and re-installed it again...
I have reset preferences over and ove,r and by the way the default black theme is horrible
It doesn't matter which document in which folio I try to update - the drop menu isn't available.
The documents have gone up to the cloud - I can see current documents there, so the files are synchronizing properly... It is the folio panel that is the culprit...
I am using build 10.2.0.69 of release 2014.2
Does anyone out there, in the world, anywhere, have any suggestions how to get the drop menu back into the folio?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Exporting drop menu dreamweaver

I have forgot how I exported a previous drop down menu created in fireworks and used in dreamweaver.
I have created some buttons, added the slices but when exported into my site in dreamweaver I place button in div tag but drop down does not work. It really is just an image.
Can you explain How I export correctly from fireworks to dreamweaver and have buttons work properly as drop menu in dreamweaver.

Animation preset is showing but the drop menu for it isn't?

When I choose fractal noise the animation preset is showing, but when I click on the drop menu for it to select curtain, no options show at all. The only options that show are "None" and "Save Selected Effects As Animation Preset." Can someone help me make the curtain noise show? thanks

You probably have permissions issues on your presets foldrs so AE can't access them. Check that.

Open System Preferences and go to Accessibility. Next, select Display from the source list along the left, then check the box labelled Reduce transparency.

My media drop menu for music, tv shows, etc. is missing in iTunes?

A lot of it may be artwork. My iTunes is 40,000 songs (213Gb and I have almost 9Gb of artwork - and that's been downsized to 300X300 "web optimized" images too)
Also, there is a discrepancy between the way iTunes shows files size and the way OS X does.
iTunes (most likely because there is also a Windows version) uses "binary" calculations (1mb = 1024kb and so on) where OS X uses "decimal" calculation (1mb = 1000kb and so on).
120gGb in iTunes is 122,880mb. That same 120Gb in OS X is 120,000mb.
The files are the same size, but OS X will show more available space than iTunes will.
Still, artwork and duplicates are the #1 & #2 culprits.
Lastly, the bit rate of your music can be a factor. If everything is 320kbps or more... or Apple Lossless (800kbps+ usually) your music files are a lot bigger than you probably need, unless you're a music professional (DJ or producer). Try converting them down to a bit rate in the area of 160 or 192kbps. 192 is the MAX for anything in my library, because I only use it for home listening.

It may also depend on the monitor, as it appears from post #29 by Loncar in the same thread.
Obviously, this also influences some other things so there may be a downside to it.

Vertical faded pink lines and pixelated fonts in the Menu, how to fix?

I bought my iMac in Jan 2010, and just after my Apple Care expired three years later I started to have some problems I have no idea how to fix, hope someone can help.
When starting the computer, I get either a grey screen (I cannot go further or see anything else), or after starting the computer, seems like only the screensaver works, and if you try to open any menu, you'll get a black screen.
All this happened right after the last update.
I followed all the steps advised by Apple to fix the grey screen, but none of them worked.
I also formatted the hard drive (I was using 10.8) and installed other OS (10.6).
It worked well, except that I got now time vertical faded pink lines right after starting the computer, and the fonts in the menu looks like pixelated, they're not clear. but it only happens with the menu, Safari and other programs look fine.
Any idea what's going on?

This looks as though you may have a failing GPU.
You can try these resets that may help, but it looks like a hardware failure.
You may want to take it in to an Apple store genius bay, they will diagnose it for free and give you your options.

Font Selection - Drop Down Menu Selection

Hello All,
I have a general question about the FONT selection in the menu bar in iBA that has been puzzling me.
Sometimes when I select a font within a text box and move over to the Drop Down menu within iBA the default view is the top six most recently used fonts.
At other times the font selection moves down the long list of fonts alphabetically — say to Helvetica.
I have being playing around with the key combination keys to see if holding command key or a combination will change this.
By holding down the ALT / Option key turns the FONT PREVIEW view OFF so the menu is more compressed and maybe faster to load.
Any thoughts on this would be great. I would really like to be able to jump to my top six recently used fonts by holding down a hot key rather than at random times as it seems to me right now.

I downloaded it again and reinstalled it, restarted my pc, restarted illustrator, and it still didn't work - but, with my type selected, I went to Type -> Find Font and from there I managed to change it into aurulent_sans_mono ok. but even after that I still can't select it in the other ways. It's probably just a bug but at least I've found a way round it.

Font size of menu/toolbar in Photoshop & Adobe Bridge CS4?

I have just downloaded a copy of Photoshop and Adobe Bridge CS4 onto a second laptop I recently purchased. However the font size of the menu bar/tool bars is extremely small. Could you suggest how to increase the font size in the menu/tool bars?

Updated Firefox (as requested) and no longer have ANY search engine options in toolbar drop-down menu. How can I fix this?

The only options in the search feature (in the top right corner of FF) are Delicious and Norton Safe Search. It's the Google search I'm looking for; it's the only one I ever use.

Thank you, cor-el. Your helpful instructions were far over my head. I ended up downgrading to a previous version of Firefox, and all the browser options returned.
THEN... the Norton went fubar, and we lost use of all browsers; couldn't connect to the Internet at all on that laptop. Ended up pulling out an old one, found a Norton representative who instructed us to download onto a flash drive, and used that to uninstall the Norton. Now we have all browsers working normally, with all search functions intact.
