For those of you who have the "Perfect Timing" ringtone from the commercial

I posted this in the plain 'ol phone forum but haven't got a response yet. I hope I get one here.
For those of you who have the ringtone from the iPhone TV commercial -- do you remember what portion of the song (or can you check in iTunes) you used for the actual ringtone? If you could tell me the counter (in seconds and minutes) that you started and ended your tone at, that would be great. I'm trying to get it exactly like the commerical but I don't think I have it just right. Thanks! By the way the song is called "Perfect Timing."

...and you're surprised that you had installation issues with iTunes?  This makes me wonder whether others who report problems installing iTunes have computers that are equally infected!  For reference, I just checked the logs from the last Malwarebytes scan (I run an automated scan twice a week) on my main iTunes system (on which, like the other iTunes instances I run, never seems to suffer from any installation issues) - zero issues

  • For those of you who have had issues installing Itunes on Win 7 or possibly another OS

    This MIGHT help you.
I tried all day yesterday to install Itunes and I could not get it to work for the life of me. As of today I finally got it installed, so I am giving a quick list of what I did.
First check to make sure  windows is updated and then make sure your SQLserverCe31.msi file is not missing or corrupt. if so I was able to download it through Microsofts website.
I then used my Windows system file checker tool to repair any corrupted windows files which I had none.
After all of that I downloaded the free version of malwarebytes and ran it when my computer was in safe mode, which found 93 malware "issues" on my computer. I quarantined all of them and ran it again
I then used msconfig and disabled ALL of my NON Microsoft services and ALL of my startup services (Selective startup)
I tried running the Itunes installer again and BOOM everything installed correctly. I hope this helps SOMEONE

  • HT6147 Why haven't they done a patch for those of us who have not updated and prefer to use iOS 6?

Why haven't they done a patch for those of us who have not updated and prefer to use iOS 6?

Totally agree with Andy. Apple needs to support its users whether or not they decide to update to iOS 7.
The reviews from i Pad 3 owners (like me) is that when they've updated to iOS 7 they've experienced latency and sluggishness. Why would I ruin a perfectly good iPad by updating to iOS 7?
Please let me know where I can find a patch for iOS 6.
    Thanks!

  • For Those of You Who Burn Discs, This Might Be of Interest!

Well, I suppose most of you have now seen my query about why I could burn BD-RWs, but NOT BD-Rs,  In that I indicated that I use Verbatim exclusively, and that I was recently stopped within Encore from burning Verbatim BD-Rs.  There is a good chance that my difficulty suddenly and inexplicably rested not with the Verbatim discs per se, but the fact that both of my Pioneer burners were rated at X2 writing speed, while the BD-Rs were rated at X6.  Now and subsequently, I have no difficulty burning Verbatim BD-Rs rated at X2.
If you ever have difficulty in even starting the burning process in Encore, or in utilizing such programs as imgburn, the stated disparity may be the basis for the problem, and if you have read this far, that should be enough!
After all was said and done, I looked at the cylindrical cases in which the Verbatim discs were delivered, and discovered the following: "CAUTION: For use in drives or recorders that support 6x speed 25GB Blu-ray discs without cartridge.  Insertion of this disc into non-compatible hardware may damage data, disc, or hardware."  I had used quite a number of these previously from other packages, and the ones I had difficulty with were from two newly opened packages of 50 discs each.  These discs were made in Taiwan, according to the package, with a part number of 97339.  Apparently I am not alone with this disparity; although the sample of user data is almost next to zero, here is the reaction of one reviewer on Amazon, a reaction similar to mine, until I examined the package, and thought further about the issue: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2Z4Z7B9SWCVWJ/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R2Z4Z7B9SWCVWJ  .  The Part Number of the identified discs is different (reflecting a new manufacturing process of Verbatim, according to other sources), but the specification for the discs is otherwise the same.  I have now ordered a couple of packages of Verbatim X2 25GB printable BD-Rs - it may well be, given the notable difficulty that I had in even finding these, that Verbatim has ceased manufacture and distribution of the X2 discs except as individually packaged discs.  All of this makes streaming even more attractive!

Jeff, no I don't remeber where I purchased them, and could only identify the
supplier by going through very extensive receipts kept for tax return support -
so until the IRS audits me, that will probably remain a mystery.
In the meantime, I have just ordered a Pioneer 6x BD recorder!  About time,
IF 6x will prove as reliable as 2x!

    Bill

  • For those of you who cannot afford a proper video editing system...

...don't buy any prosumer video editing program (including Premiere Pro CS5.5). Here's why:
Last night, I ran the PPBM5 test on an Intel i3-2100 system with 4GB of DDR3-1333 RAM, a 500GB OS drive and a 1TB project drive (both drives are 7200 RPM) and integrated (onboard) Intel HD Graphics 2000. (This is the kind of system that one might buy for the purpose of Interner surfing and some limited gaming.) I have just submitted the results to the PPBM5 site.
    The result?
With a total time of 976 seconds, that system is around 20 times slower than a fast i7 system (although it was marginally faster than the other systems with dual-core CPUs on the PPBM5 results list). That i3-2100 system also proved that no system with a dual-core CPU performed as fast as a system with even a mediocre-performing quad-core CPU.
In other words, at the lower end, you get what you pay for. This post and thread is to inform how senseless it is to cheap out on the components when building a video editing build.

If you absolutely can't afford the "fully ready" cost of...
    16GB DDR3-1333 RAM: $120
    4 x 1TB 7200 RPM SATA hard drives: $240
320GB or 500GB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive (for OS): $45
    You could START with...
    8GB DDR3-1333 RAM (2x4Gig)
    2 x 1TB 7200 RPM SATA hard drives
320GB or 500GB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive (for OS)
And then add Ram and/or hard drives as need and $$ is available
The computer I built a bit over a year ago is described at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/652694?tstart=0
My 3 hard drives are configured as... (WD = Western Digital)
    1 - 320G WD Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320G WD Win7 swap file and video project files
3 - 1T WD all video files... input & output files
Search Microsoft to find out how to redirect your Windows swap file

  • For those of you who ordered your macbook online

I recently ordered a macbook from the online store, and I was wondering if any of you who ordered yours online know where apple ships their products from. I've hear a myriad of answers, from Taiwan to Shanghai to Cupertino. Thanks in advance.

I purchased my BlackBook online because I wanted it CTO (configured to order). I expected it to take longer than the spedified delivery date (two weeks) because the additional hardware (2G RAM, 120G hard drive, etc) had to be installed.
It was shipped from China and arrived via Fed Express within 5 days of the date of my order.
    Hope this helps!

  • For those of you who had to get a new iPhone after update bricked you...

Can you explain what is involved in the process of setting up your new phone? Is it like a SIM card transfer, or is it a setup through iTunes like you have to do originally? My setup process was much more complicated than most (long story involving business plan) so I am reluctant to get the 2.0.x update because the guy who set up my phone for me seemed to be the only one in the world who could do it.
    Thanks.

I have gotten a new iPhone because the previous one didn't want to restore. The Genius simply transfered my SIM card to the new iPhone and I was on my way. At home, I connected my new iPhone to iTunes and restored it from the last backup (even though I should have started from scratch). It worked perfectly, all apps, music, video, contacts, email, ringtones, etc. have been transfered to the ne iPhone and I've been using it without any problems.

But appears no one really knows if the limits will be combined. or just dumped when they close the special event and club accounts we do know they will transfer to balance if you have one onto your revolver. But its all a mystery at this point even for the Csr's at Macys. The rep at Bloomingdale's told me without me asking that the limits would be merged next month. I just bought a Dyson vacuum to lock in my major purchase account. My vacuum had the motor go out so it gave me the opportunity to do this even though Costco was much cheaper.

  • For those of you that have had a MacBook delivered to your doorstep...

Was it shipped FedEx? (Any original/new MacBooks, not ones back from repair.) If no one is home during the day to pick it up, do they leave it at your doorstep, take it to a post office and drop it off, try to deliver it again, or what?
    Thanks.

I was expecting my Macbook to be delivered yesterday and checked on its progress midday at work. To my HORROR, Fedex's tracking stated "Left at front door. Package delivered to recipient address - release authorized"
I screamed WHAT!!!!!!???????!!!!!!!!!! I sped home (as the package had apparently been sitting outside my apartment door for 40 minutes!) And rushed to get it inside. Luckily, I got there in time.. but oh man is FedEX gonna get it!!!! I CANNOT believe they would leave such an expensive computer outside in an apartment complex!
When I clicked on "signature proof" on the tracking page, it states that NO signature was found and that "At the time of shipment, the signature was released by the shipper/recipient (indicating that no signature was required)".
At the time of Shipment??? That is SO upsetting to me! Especially because for the iPod I received a few days earlier, we were required to wait unitl 5pm to go pick it up at the FedEx facility. My computer is worth SO MUCH more! And they just left it there!
Also, I did not select the "free shipping" option from Apple... instead opting for the *more expensive* priority shipment method. This is how they repay me?
FedEx is gonna HEAR IT from me!

  • For all of you who can't play Purchased tunes from iTunes...

I spoke to AppleCare and solved the problem.
You need to Restore your iPod software. It works! If you need help let me know or someone else please post. Gotta run out for a bit...

First goto control panel>add & Remove in windows and
try to remove iTUnes AND quicktime from there. If you
can not remove them from there go here and roll down
to "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer"
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Now Open Microsoft Internet Explorer, goto
Tools.Windows Update and run it to make sure your
windows has all its updates. You may also want to
goto the PC makers site (Like Dell, HP or whatever
brand of PC you have) and look for updates for your
    model,
After you have updated your system, disable any
antivirus programs and security programs, goto
apple.com and download the latest version of iTUnes
    for windows and install it.
pac_80. Thanks for the assistance. It has partly solved the problem in that my daughter can now hear her tunes through the computer speakers, but still they won't transfer to her actual i-pod. We've tried all the usual 'update i-pod' etc.,but still no joy ! Can you help please ?

  • For all of you who think Encore messages are obscure & that Adobe Support is lousy - Read On

I thought I would share a little story of woe with you all.
Not only will this give you a good laugh, but it will show you that you essentially don't know when you have it as good as you do with Adobe.
I create High Resolution DVD-Audio discs, and for this I have to use Sonic's DVD-Audio Creator system. It is not only the equivalent for Audio of Scenarist for Video, but it is almost as expensive as well. The point will become clear.
So, I am authoring this Widescreen project and the deadline is like tomorrow.
So it's a case of "hurry, hurry, hurry".
Error #1 - "cannot open file xxx_HL_LB.tif" that is it. So I am looking through, and thinking "there isn't one. Must have missed something here".
Yet to no avail. In desperation, I dig out the manual and buried away in an appendix is the information that for a Widescreen disc, the SPHL image is not scaled as this makes text degrade significantly, so a separate SPHL file with the naming convention of (filename)_HL_LB.TIF is required.
This has to be manually placed into the folder created when using the "Import Menu" tool, as it cannot be done automatically".
It then goes on to say that if Pan & Scan is also required, these need yet another file with the naming convention of (filename)_HL_PS.TIF.
Thank for making this obvious guys - you would have thought that the Command Editor tool would point this out to you when you set the Aspect Ratio to 16:9, but no.
So I get this sorted out - only 86 screens, all requiring new Highlight Layers.
    It's compile time again.
Error #2 - "Cannot open source file "mainmenu ATS.TIF" - for those of you who know Sonic, you'll no doubt spot the problem immediately. If you do not know this, and try to call support, you will be told that unless you have a maintenance contract, online support is not available. A maintenance contract is several thousand dollars - per year.
(The answer, if you are unaware, is that the compiler cannot handle spaces in the file names, yet the importer has no such problem & again does not tell you you are importing a file that is effectively useless and will crash the compiler with an error message.)
I fix this & move on.
Error #3 - gets right to the end of the process.
    All files converted & parsed.
    All AOB created
    All VOB created.
Starts laying out the UDF/IFO information, gets all the way to the end and errors with a "illegal filename - cannot use ?></\-, only _ 1-9 and A-Z"
Again, the command editor could tell you this, and not allow you to enter in the bloody name, but no - that would be far too easy.
It's the support that annoys me more than anything though.
Sonic still sell this product - it's $13,000 - and yet refuse to provide online support as it is a "dead format" (who told them that? I have done 5 this year already, and have another 23 on the books already) despite the fact that labels are still releasing in DVD-A (albeit few & far between) and that if I want to continue with support I should buy a maintenance contract. They go on to "helpfully" point out that I should get in touch with my supplier, as the new HD formats offer all that is on DVD-A & more besides - yeah, like the $150,000 price tag plus support contract, annual AACS Site license, and per-title AACS fees that are mandatory despite all Blu Ray DRM being broken wide-open.
And you lot moan about Adobe, and Encore's messages?
You do not know when you are well off.

    Part 2.
Another thing that all Encore users ought to regularly offer up a daily prayer of thanks for is the PSD support for menus.
Let me tell you a little story, all about how bloody awkward it
    i can
be, again using Industry Standard "Flagship" applications.
The little saga above about the additional _HL_LB image completely forgot to mention that there is a very nasty scaling issue awaiting the ignorant (like me).
It doesn't scale the letterbox image automatically.
SO, it's a case of as usual, preparing all Widescreen assets in anamorphic mode (create & design in PS using PAR correction, reshape image to Square Pixels)
Duplicate the _HL for the _HL_LB image.
Now, because of the rescaling issue, take this into PS, and resize the image to 720x360, then resize the
    i canvas
to 720x480, making certain your background is white, as failure to do this will mean the Letterboxed SPHL are incorrectly scaled, although the button hotspots are in the right place.
Aargh - if it was not for the "Phone A Friend" option, I would still be stuck on this.

  • For those of you using two hard drives..........

I have two hard drives, and really want to set them up properly so that logic is running on the main drive, and the secondary drive is for audio/samples etc. So for those of you that have done this, what is the best way? Specifically -
    1. For the EXS24- do BOTH the instruments and samples folder need to go on the secondary drive?
    2. If you've already been using one drive for everything, how do you re-train logic to see the exs/audio folders on the secondary drive? Is it just a matter of moving them and then redirecting logic when it can't find the files?
Your input on the best way to utilize two drives is most appreciated - what has worked for you, and what hasn't.

. For the EXS24- do BOTH the instruments and samples folder
need to go on the secondary drive?
Leave the instruments folder where it is, and put your samples folder on the external drive.
You can alias the instruments folder to whereever you want, but you don't really get any performance advantages doing so.
    2. If you've already been using one drive for everything, how do you
re-train logic to see the exs/audio folders on the secondary drive?
Two things to note - you don't need to do anything. When the EXS24 loads an instrument, if the samples are not at the location specified in the instrument, it will search for them, and when it finds them, it will write the new location back to the instrument so next time it won't have to search.
So, if you've moved your sample folders, the first time you access an instrument it will take some time to load while Logic hunts for the samples. Subsequent loads of that instrument will be as fast as ever.
Now, you can use the Project Manager (or Redmatica's EXSManager) to do this relinking for you across multiple instruments or your whole library.
In the PM, do an expanded scan. Then, select your instruments, and choose the "resolve samples" function - Logic will relink instruments with their samples and update the instrument files with the new locations. This can take some time with a big library.
    Any more questions, post back.

  • What is Apple doing for those iMac owners who failed to have their Seagate HD replaced by April 12, 2013?

What is Apple doing for those iMac owners who failed to have their Seagate HD replaced by April 12, 2013?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you purchased the iMac less than 3 years ago and it has got one of the defective hard disks, Apple will still replace it for free. Make a backup of your files with Time Machine and take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller. A Genius will check if your Mac was purchased less than 3 years ago.
If the computer is older, you will have to pay. Note that if you already have the iMac on April 12th, 2013 and before, and you knew that your iMac had a defective hard disk, you should have taken it even if the hard drive was working correctly

  • For those of you having intermittent connection to the internet

If you have a linksys router and having intermittent connection to the internet, here's how.
Be sure to have a LAN cable plug into your router and macbook.
(This is very important if you do not want to get disconnected from the router)
    1) Navigate to http://192.168.1.1
    2) Go to the Wireless tab, under the Advance Wireless Settings tab, change the beacon interval to 50, RTS to 2304 and Fragmention to 2305, save the settings.
    3) When you login into your router page, it first direct you to the setup page, look under MTU, set it to 1300. save it.
Note that if you are still having intermittent connection to the internet, another alternative is setting your MTU to 1365.
That's it, 3 easy steps to get you freed from the frustration.
Cheers for all those having the same problem like me solved.

    Hi,
I dunno if this will help any of you, but here it comes:
I purchased the Airport 'N' enabler just a week before I upgraded to OSX 10.4.10. And - of course - after the OS update I had the similar issue with dropping Wifi connections and very slow speed, although (*Touch Wood*) I didn't have any Kernel Panics.
After updating to OS 10.4.10, System Profiler and Network Utility showed that I had the 'n' enabled, but the speed and (lack of) stability of the Wifi connection can only be described as 'Hair-ripping'.
Anyway, after reading through all the threads/topics of all you poor sods with similar problems and utilising somewhat 'hairy' workarounds with varying results, I realized that nobody acually tried to re-install the 'N'-enabler again; at least as far as I recall..
So, I simply installed the 'N'-enabler again AFTER updating to 10.4.10 !!! I was kind of expecting the installer to prompt me, saying that "this computer already has Airport Extreme 'N'-enabler installed" blah-blah.., but it didn't.
And now I have a very stable connection and MUCH faster download speeds as well !
So those of you who hasn't tried this yet, please do. It might work for you as well ... !!
    Just me 2 cents
