For XML as PIVOT

Thanks for reading.
I need to export data via SQL to XML. But I need the XML format in Row/column and the output must be a Pivot table. I know that it can be done with AS pivot. But I don't know how to use it in the below script
I've already got a fantastic script with the outcome in Row/Column format, but the output must be in pivot
use Cluster_Data_Mart_NEW
;With CTE
AS
SELECT [Cluster_Name]
,[Cell_Name]
,[Client_Name]
,[Assigned]
FROM CDM_Fact_Personnel_Assigned
INNER JOIN CDM_Dim_Organization on
CDM_Fact_Personnel_Assigned.Organization_Key =
CDM_Dim_Organization.Organization_Key
INNER JOIN CDM_Dim_Client on CDM_Fact_Personnel_Assigned.Client_Key =
CDM_Dim_Client.Client_Key
select
select [Cluster_Name] AS [@name],
(select [Cell_Name] as [column],
null as tmp,
Client_Name as [column],
null as tmp,
Assigned as [column]
from CTE
where [Cluster_Name] = t.[Cluster_Name]
for xml path('row'),type) as [*]
from (select distinct [Cluster_Name] from CTE)t
for xml path('variable'),root('data')
) as col_xml
the above query needs to be in the same XML format(Row/Clolumn) but then in a Pivot table structure.
The desired outcome:
..............CellA...CellB
companyA..4.......3
companyB..0.......4
companyC..1.......2
(whithout the ..............)
The desired outcome in XML:
<data>
<variable name="Cluster_Name">
<row>
<column></column>
<column>CellA</column>
<column>CellB</column>
</row>
<row>
<column>companyA</column>
<column>4</column>
<column>3</column>
</row>
<row>
<column>companyB</column>
<column>0</column>
<column>4</column>
</row>
<row>
<column>companyC</column>
<column>1</column>
<column>2</column>
</row>
</variable>
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Bart

Hi Russ,
I
get no error message anymore :) Only is the output not yet as desired.
<data>
  <variable name="Cluster_Name">
    <row>
      <column />
      <column>CellA</column>
      <column>CellB</column>
    </row>
    <row>
      <column>Company1</column>
      <column>CellA</column>
      <column>CellB</column>
    </row>
    <row>
      <column>Company2</column>
      <column>CellA</column>
      <column>CellB</column>
    </row>
The desired is the second and third rows need to be the value of the column "Assigned" Like:
<data>
<variable name="Cluster_Name">
<row>
<column></column>
<column>CellA</column>
<column>CellB</column>
</row>
<row>
<column>companyA</column>
<column>4</column>
<column>3</column>
</row>
<row>
<column>companyB</column>
<column>0</column>
<column>4</column>
</row>
<row>
<column>companyC</column>
<column>1</column>
<column>2</column>
Table1: CDM_Fact_Personnel_AssignedColumn1: [Assigned]                   -> its a number like: 2,3,4,6Table2: CDM_Dim_OrganizationColumn1: [Cluster_Name]               Column2: [Cell_Name]                  -> CellA, CellB
Table3: CDM_Dim_Client Column1: [Client_Name]                -> CompannyA, CompannyB
Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    You can increase the maximum columns in a view by add some tags to instanceconfig.xml file.

  • Error for fetching long text in xml tag for xml publisher report

    My requirement is to fetch a large document which is in text format in XML output which can be printed in PDF format by using RTF method to generate PDF.But during XML ouput i got the following error-
    The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh
    button, or try again later.
    The following tags were not closed: XXBG_EAMWRREP_V1, LIST_G_WO_ACTIVITY_CODE, G_WO_ACTIVITY_CODE, LIST_G_MEDIA_ID1,
    G_MEDIA...
    XXBG_EAMWRREP_V1 is the rdf and LIST_G_WO_ACTIVITY_CODE, G_WO_ACTIVITY_CODE, LIST_G_MEDIA_ID1, G_MEDIA are the groups name. In the group
    G_MEDIA i am fetching long_text from attahcment in application. In Database table the datatype of the text attachment is 'long' and there is a huge text
    data loaded in large data editor of that column. If the text data volume is small enough then there is no problem for fetching the xml output.
    If we change the output format as HTMl then there is no problem for fetching the output for long text but for xml output format we are unable to fetch the data
    in xml tag.
    One thing to mention the oracle report is the copy of Maintenance Work Order Detail Report. The seeded report is HTML format in 11i. The requirement is to make it in xml report.
    Please help.

  • FO processing for XML Publisher Report Bursting Program

    Hello,
    I am facing the following problem: if i try to burst a report using XML Publisher Report Bursting Program special characters like (ş,ţ,ă, etc.) in the resulting PDF look strange. I have tried running the report without bursting it and the characters appear just fine (after i've set the FO Processing Font Mapping). My guess is that XML Publisher Report Bursting Program is not using the right font mapping. Have you faced this problem before? Do you have any idea how to set the right font mapping for XML Publisher Report Bursting Program.
    Thank you.

    So the answer was to make sure the location in the bursting file (location="xdo://schema.template_code.en.US) exactly matches the language/country setting in the uploaded Definition. Then make sure the fonts have been added to the xdo.cfg file matching what your Font Mappings are:

  • Unable to locate Spring NamespaceHandler for XML schema namespace

    I am not sure if this is the best practice approach but this is the problem I am ruining into. Below, I explain what I am doing:
    1) What I am doing:
    =============
    Based on the oracle incubator example (http://coherence.oracle.com/display/INCUBATOR/Processing+Pattern+Examples); I am running a server and submitting tasks through a proxy application that submits them to ProcessingPatternConfigurator; let's call my task processReport.
    a) my processReport is using spring and ibatis together, I created a utility static class to obtain a spring context and retrieves beans using the following lines ( see exhibit "A1 and A2" below).
    b) when my task calls the context and that spring loads, it is failing with the error show in exhibit "B".
    I suspect I am missing a lib? I googled the error and searched you site but could find a meaningful discussion on it. I guess my question is if this is not the best approach, how do I integrated with spring initializing beans and setting up ibatis framwork, providing beans and database access through Ibatis for each task ruining on the grid (processReport).
    thanks
    A1) processReport (submitted in the grid) uses this line
    AbstractXmlApplicationContext ctx = (AbstractXmlApplicationContext) AmrContextUtil.getInstance();
              System.out.println("Classpath loaded. Executing Report...");
              ReportProcessor repProcessor = (ReportProcessor) ctx.getBean("reportProcessor");
    A2) Here is the AmrContextUtil:
    import org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext;
    import org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext;
    public final class AmrContextUtil {
         private static AbstractApplicationContext ctx = null;
         public AmrContextUtil() {
              super();
         public final static synchronized AbstractApplicationContext getInstance(){
              if (ctx == null){
                   ctx = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext("classpath:config/applicationContext.xml");
                   setCtx(ctx);
              return ctx;
         public final static synchronized AbstractApplicationContext getCtx() {
              return ctx;
         public final static synchronized void setCtx(AbstractApplicationContext ctx) {

    My guess is that something is broken in the configuration of the cacheServer and its not finding
    all of the dependencies that your process pattern application needs. Probably the best way
    to debug this stuff is to define a static main in your runnable task which will make the call
    to the run() method and invoke it as the main class using the identical settings (classpath,
    run directory) that you are using to launch the Coherence cache server.

  • How to use useMaxValue property in ODI for XML?

    Hello All,
    I am using 11.1.1.5 version of ODI. I want to use "useMaxValue" for which description is given as follows by oracle.
    When this property is set to true, elements for which maxOccurs is not specified in the XSD are considered as maxOccurs ="unbounded". Otherwise, the driver assumes that maxOccurs=1 when maxOccurs is not specified.
    when I use this property as useMaxValue in the JDBC url for XML technology I get the following error.
    ODI-1227: Task SrcSet0 (Loading) fails on the source XML connection XML FILE.
    Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: ODI-40717: Unknown parameter : usemaxvalue
    I am trying to get multiple records for the same elements in XML for this I am using this property. Is there any other way to get it done?
    Thanks in Advance!

    please try uimv or useimplicitmaxvalue. I justed tried, both works well. I will file a doc bug to track the issue, maybe document need change, maybe code, waiting bug updates.

  • What should i put in Schme while creating Data server for XML

    I am new to XML and ODI also.
    I was trying to create a data server for XML technology.
    I don't know what should i specify as a schmea in JDBC URL.
    e.g. jdbc:snps:xml?f=../demo/xml/1/file.xml&ro=false&ldoc=true&case_sens=true&s=LEO_FIZ&dod=true
    here schema is LEO_FIZ, so my doubts is LEO_FIZ is a database schema or what ??
    Please help me out.

    The schema referred to here is going to be used by the XML driver for the instantiation of the temporary schema used for the xml data. It can be any name, I recommend you keep it short, as if you use an external database for the XML data instantiation it is used as a part of the "table" names.

    I feel this xml output is not like the regular xml output.  Do you know why it is diffrent from the regular xml xml output?  Please comment on this matter.
    Thanks,

    What do you mean by regular xml document? Are you referring to fact that its missing a root element? if yes it can be added as below
    USE AdventureWorks;
    GO
    SELECT
    p.NameStyle AS "processing-instruction(nameStyle)",
    p.BusinessEntityID AS "Person/@ID",
    p.ModifiedDate AS "comment()",
    pp.PhoneNumber AS "text()",

    MiddleName AS "Person/Name/Middle",
    LastName AS "Person/Name/Last",
    EmailAddress AS "Person/Email"
    FROM Person.Person p
    INNER JOIN Person.EmailAddress e
    ON p.BusinessEntityID = e.BusinessEntityID
    INNER JOIN Person.PersonPhone pp
    ON p.BusinessEntityID = pp.BusinessEntityID
    FOR XML PATH('ElementName'),ROOT('RootName');
    replace ElementName and RootName with whatever name you need to set for element as well as the root element

    How can the xml data be downloaded to presentation seerver? ?
    Function works fine for .txt data but not for xml ???

    @ Sandeep:
    I did this only.
    Firstly I converted data into xml using SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT
    the code is:
    CALL FUNCTION 'SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT'
    EXPORTING
      I_FIELD_SEPERATOR          = ':'
      I_LINE_HEADER              =
      I_FILENAME                  = w_path
      I_APPL_KEEP                = ' '
      I_XML_DOC_NAME              = <w_xml_file>
    IMPORTING
      PE_BIN_FILESIZE            =
        TABLES
          I_TAB_SAP_DATA             = int_final_vendor
       CHANGING
         I_TAB_CONVERTED_DATA        = int_xml_data
       EXCEPTIONS
         CONVERSION_FAILED          = 1
         OTHERS                     = 2

    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
            WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
      ENDIF.
    After this I am downloading the data using GUI_Download
    Code is

  • "for XML path "  Oracle equivalent of this SQL expression

    [AskTom.oracle.com|http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:2196162600402] shows several different ways to do it.
    I recommend the first one, the user-defined function STRAGG, which you can copy from that page.
    On Oracle 10 (and up) you may have a similar function, WM_CONCAT (owned by WMSYS), already installed.
    WM_CONCAT is not documented, so you may not want to use it in your Production applications.
    STRAGG is not so convenient if the order of items in the concatenated string is important.
    In that case, use XMLAGG or SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH, as shown later in the asktom page.
    MODEL can also do ordered string aggregation.
