Force format resolver to resolve again

Hi,
Currently I am using a format resolver to pick up custom user style attributes on paragraph elements and translating them into TextLayoutFormat properties. This is working well, as I am able to perform tasks such as getting properties from external style sheets. For example, ...<p myExternalStyle="someExternalStyle">..., and someExternalStyle, stored externally, would contain properties such as font size, font color, etc.
In the application workflow, sometimes the properties within the external style sheets may change, and, when this happens, I would like to recompose or refresh the text  such that my format resolver gets called again. This would allow the format resolver to reassign updated properties  from the external style sheet, and cause the text properties to be updated. However, I have tried:
textFlow.flowComposer.damage(0, textFlow.textLength, FlowDamageType.INVALID);
followed by either textFlow.flowComposer.compose() or textFlow.flowComposer.updateAllControllers(), but the format resolver is not called again on the text. Is there a way to force or damage the text flow such that a recompse or update would force the format resolvers to get called again?
Thank you for the help.
Will

Looks like _computedFormat isn't being nulled in FlowElement as part of damage with invalid, so the format isn't being recalculated and the format resolver isn't being called again on recompose after damage. _computedFormat can be nulled out a few ways via consequences of public API. In this case, the best ways are either re-setting the text flow format with the equivalent value:
     textFlow.format = new TextLayoutFormat(textFlow.format);
Or setting some dummy user style:
     textFlow.setStyle("dummy", null);
Does this sound correct? Any other suggestions? Thanks again for your help.

I was recently prompted to update iPhoto and make changes to the library.  I did it but it keeps hanging up in step 5 or 6 and won't complete the cycle.  I have used force quit, rebooted and started again several times.  How do i get this to work?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    If that fails:
Restore from your back up, repair the Library and try again.

  • Can I copy an entire page without having to format it all over again?

Can I copy an entire page without having format it all over again? Can I basically do a copy and paste onto a new page?

Yes, you can Copy/Paste a group of fields (or entire page with Select All), formatting is retained.
If you want a new form with the same fields the easiest/best method is to "Duplicate" the form from the "My Forms" tab, click on the form to select and click "Duplicate" on the top toolbar (also available in the context menu when you right click on a file).
With "Duplicate" any "Show/Hide" logic is also retained and you have the option to copy responses as well.
    Thanks,

  • Conflict Resolver not resolving conflicts

My iPhone and iPod Touch calendars keep conflicting with each other and with my MacBook calendar.  Specifically, 1) repeating events with differing exceptions (e.g., weeks in which a repeating meeting doens't happen) from device to device, and 2) "all-day" events that want to end at 12:00 on one device and at 00:00 on another.
I have repeatedly given instructions for which of the two data sets I prefer to use, yet they keep coming back.
Is there a way to fix this?  Or, do I simply have to delete the item from one of the devices?
Thanks in advance for your ideas.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Conflicts are normally resolved at the record level automatically by the Sync Services framework. You cannot invoke the Conflict Resolver itself, which normally appears only when the framework cannot resolve a discrepancy at the field level in what otherwise appear to be identical records.
Motorola contact records may represent a special case, which is discussed in this technical note:
iSync: Editing contact name on Motorola phone may create a duplicate Address Book entry
    Issue or symptom
Editing an existing contact on a Motorola phone may create duplicate Address Book entries. After creating a contact on your Motorola phone, then syncing, you later edit the contact name on the phone. On the next sync, the old contact name and new contact name may be displayed as separate contacts in Address Book (in Mac OS X).
    Products affected
    • iSync [all versions]
    • Address Book
    • Motorola phones
    Solution
To avoid this situation, edit existing contact names on the computer, not the phone.
To resolve duplicate entries, you can use the Merge Selected Cards feature in Address Book in Mac OS X before syncing again.

  • Is it possible to force the user to login again when using oauth 2 (implicit grant)

    Hi,
I'm trying to build an application based on a rest webservice in APEX which is being accessed by a javascript frontend via ORDS. I'm using the "Implicit grant" flow of OAUTH 2.
When the user is finished with the application, he/she should be able to logout of the application, so another user can login (on the same machine and browser). But, without clearing all cookies, ORDS will automatically give an access token for the previous user, without showing the login screen to allow/deby access to the rest web service.
(Clearing the cookies is not possible via javascript, since they are httponly)
I know it is not the "normal" way to use oauth2, but I would like to be able to log-out a user. So how can I force ORDS to show the loginscreen again to give another user the possibility to login?
    Alexander

You can force the implicit code flow to prompt the user to sign in by including _auth_=force in the approval request query string. To follow the example shown in the developer guide [1]
    change:
    https://server:port/ords/resteasy/oauth2/auth?response_type=token&client_id=CLIENT_IDENTIFIER&state=STATE
    to:
    https://server:port/ords/resteasy/oauth2/auth?response_type=token&client_id=CLIENT_IDENTIFIER&state=STATE&_auth_=force

Restoring iLife applications after Internet Restore of OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion
If you erase install OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion on a new Mac that shipped with OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion installed, you can download iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand from the Mac App Store.
After installation, start (up) from OS X.
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

  • 10.4 MAX OSX Fire Fox, for several months now, constantly is 'Unrepsonsive' and I have to force quit and start it again, can't find an answer on your support section, please help.

I have one or more Tabs open on my Fire Fox Browser, when suddenly, I am not able to do anything. I go to the "Force Quit" command, and find that the word "unresponsive" next to the Fire Fox Browser on the list of what's open on my desktop. Sometimes it happens with Word 2004. So, it could be a computer issue but I have no idea what to do. I don't think it has anything to do with downloading anything but it crashes several times a day.

Afraid I don't understand what you mean by a clean install. There is no such feature to Mac OS X. These are the installation options available:

  • Safari quits an the 3rd bounce in the dock, then spews an "unexpected" quit message.  Prefs trashed.  How to resolve

I recently re-installed the OS from a cleas wipe of the drive, change of formatting to Case-sensitive & Journaled.  After using the Mirgration assistant program, it fails to launch for a certain user.  It works fine for other users.   .plist files have been trashed for that user, how can I make this work again?  The thought of trashing the app & reinstalling occured, but I am not sure how to get it back, and using alternative browsers for just that user is a bit silly.

Read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now.
Quit Safari if it’s running. Then select  ▹ Force Quit... from the menu bar. A small window will open with a list of running applications. Safari may appear in that list, even though you quit it. If so, select it and press return. Close the window.
    Step 1
In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-A to open the Applications folder. Select the Safari icon in that folder and press the key combination command-I to open the Info window. There’s a checkbox in the Info window labeled Open in 32-bit mode. Uncheck it, if checked. Close the Info window and the Applications folder.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.Safari
    Caches/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess
    Caches/Metadata/Safari
    Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginHost.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess.plist
    Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState
Leave the Library folder open. Try Safari again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
    Step 2
If you still have problems, quit Safari again.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    rm -fr $TMPDIR../C/com.apple.Safari
Quit Terminal. Launch Safari and test.
    Step 3
If Safari still doesn’t work right, quit, go back to the Finder and move the following items from the open Library folder to the Desktop (some may not exist):
    Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.LSSharedFileList.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.WebFoundation.plist
    PubSub/Database
    Safari
(Note: you are not moving the Safari application. You’re moving a folder named “Safari.”)
Try again. This time Safari should perform normally, but your settings and bookmarks will be lost.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Safari again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were, overwriting the newer ones that will have been created in their place. You don’t need to replace the files you deleted in step 1. Stop here and post again.
If Safari is now working normally (apart from the lost settings), look inside the “Safari” folder on the Desktop for a file named “Bookmarks.plist”. Select File ▹ Import Bookmarks from the Safari menu bar. Import from that file. Recreate the rest of your Safari settings. You can then delete the items you moved to the Desktop.
Note: This step will remove your Safari Extensions, if any, and their settings. If you choose to restore them, do so one at a time, testing after each step to make sure you haven’t restored the problem.
If you don’t like the results of step 3, you can undo it completely by quitting Safari and restoring the items you moved or deleted in that step from your backup, overwriting any that were created in their place.

  • Resolve.conf, dnsmasq and external DNS servers

I am using dnsmasq to filter out ad urls, so my  /etc/resolv.conf looks like that:
    # Generated by dhcpcd from wlan0
    nameserver 127.0.0.1
    domain home
    nameserver 192.168.1.254
    # /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line
However, it looks like after getting through the url filtration layer of dnsmasq, the URLs are being resolved by a DNS sever of whatever Access Point I am connected to. This create problems, because they often render me unable to connect to services like sourceforge.net, etc.
So, instead of that, I would like my system to fall back to Google and OpenDNS after filtering urls through dnsmasq.
But how can I do that? This is a specific case and wiki does not cover it.

  • IPad Pages asking to "resolve conflict" every few seconds?

    Hi
I'm using  an iPad 2 with iOS 7 and the brand new (up to date) version of Pages., synced via iCloud.
I added a. New document and started typing. After a few minutes, pages told me that my document was out of sync and sled me to resolve the conflict by choosing which version was correct . All versions listed were "modified on iPad" with different time stamps. I chose the most recent and proceeded.
Then this same dialogue appeared about every 10-15 seconds. I would type a few words and there it was again. Sometimes with two choices, sometimes with 8-10 choices. Each time I chose the most recent and proceeded.
I tried exiting the document, syncing and trying again, it kept happening.
I tried force-quitting pages and launching again. Still happened,
I tried restarting my ipad. No help.
Has anyone seen this? Or, more importantly, solved this? It's really annoying and makes pages essentially unusable.
Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
    Jeff

    Hi shazlacka,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPad is restarting unexpectedly, and you have already reset all settings and force quit all open applications, I recommend backing up and restoring the iPad next:

  • Problem with DNS - ping/Safari cannot resolve, but host/dig work OK

    Hi All,
Have a weird problem with DNS which is a bit similar to the following ones:
    http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2190208
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=337942
I connect with remote internal network via OpenVPN and from time to time (yes, intermittent problem :)) internal DNS names cannot be resolved.
When it happens I can still resolve names using host or dig utilities, but applications (like Safari) and ping cannot resolve them.
resolv.conf has proper DNS server set:
    *$ cat /etc/resolv.conf*
    *# Mac OS X Notice*
*# This file is not used by the host name and address resolution*
*# or the DNS query routing mechanisms used by most processes on*
*# this Mac OS X system.*
*# This file is automatically generated.*
    *domain openvpn*
    *search openvpn*
    *nameserver 10.0.0.1*
More than that - it can resolve those internal names when queried directly, for example using host:
    *$ host YYY.XXX.ru 10.0.0.1*
    *Using domain server:*
    *Name: 10.0.0.1*
    *Address: 10.0.0.1#53*
    Aliases:
    *YYY.XXX.ru has address 192.168.x.y*
but at the same time ping reports "*Unknown host*":
    *$ ping YYY.XXX.ru*
*ping: cannot resolve YYY.XXX.ru: Unknown host*
I tried "*dscacheutil -flushcache*" and it did not help. Also tried to comment out domain and search directives in resolv.conf and it did not help as well (and actually it should not matter).
Any ideas why this can happen and what else can I check when it happens again?
    Thanks!

I have the same issue. It cropped up after I installed updates to MS Office 2008 and Firefox in which I also saw issues with the icons disappearing in the dock of the applications that were open when I started the Office update. I rebooted to try to get them back, but ended up deleting them and restoring from the Applications folder. I don't know if that's a red herring or not, but I generally try to figure out what has recently changed that may cause something to suddenly start failing.
I'd been working successfully all morning before it started acting up. Switching from wifi to cat5 had no effect.
@realaaa, were you able to resolve without a major undertaking, like reinstalling your OS?

  • Incident resolved not updated status in report or database dw

    Hi,
There is an incident with status resolved in sm console. Looking in history tab it show all steps finishing in resolving incident. But when I run a report incident details, the status of incident is active. Looking in database dwdamart, all information about
    resolution are empty,with null value.
Incidents opened and resolved after this incident are normal. Incidents resolved are resolved in console and report(dw).
    Tks.
    Vitor Cesar

    Problem resolved.
First I unregister and register dw again.
After that, I changed one value in incident from resolved to closed incident and waiting  jobs run.
I don't know what resolved this issue...but now is normal.

  • Slow Host Resolving

I've discovered another unusual issue that i'm kind of in the dark about.
When I load a website, it sits for what seems like forever 'Resolving Host'. then, when it's done, the site loads like normal. Here's what I dont get. If I go to other webpages that are part of the same .com address, it loads like normal, very quick, like it should.. But, if I change to a different site (or anything with a different <something>.com, it takes forever to 'resolve host' again.
After searching the forums, I tried "sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps=0", but didn't notice any change, so I reverted back to the default.
To me it sounds like a DNS issue of some kind...but I could be wrong.  The other kicker... when I ping websites, my ping time is not higher then normal, that comes back as fast as it should, which eliminates a problem with ipv6 ... i think.
This occurs in Konqurer, Firefox, and Chromium, so it's not program specific. I had this same problem in Fedora 11 (previous distro) using firefox as well, but no issues with windows 7 RC/ubuntu (used prior to fedora).
    Any ideas?

Well, I have a 4mb DSL line, and it's configured through DHCP. My dns server's I use would probably be my ISPs. It's a local ISP, and it's normally almost instantaneous.
I'll look into opendns, but i'm also going to burn an ubuntu livecd quick. I dont remember having the problem in windows or ubuntu prior. It started with fedora, which I just thought was an issue with firefox, but apparently not...
It seems like the DNS servers are working correctly though, here's an example.
I load myspace.com, and wait for the host to resolve and load. Once it's loaded, if i click on terms, or privacy policy, they both load extremely fast, because the URLs are myspace.com/something. However, if I click on jobs, it takes forever to resolve the host again because it changes from www.myspace.com/anything to jobs.myspace.com. If i click back on privacy policy, it takes forver to resolve the DNS again.
The other possibility is it may be something with the firmware of my modem/router and may have a full buffer or something. If the problem continues on a livecd, then I know it's either DNS problem, ISP problem, or modem problem. I'll try that and post back the results.
Thanks for the idea though, everything helps.

  • WSDL for Provided Web Service does not resolve in IE

    Hi,
After successfully providing a Web Service in FSCM 9/PT 8.49, I copied the generated WSDL URL in IE I was unable to view the WSDL. In-fact I cannot view any of the OOB WSDL's using the URL which PS generates after successfully posting it to the WSDL repository.
    Any thoughts Please.
    Thank You
    Prashant

    Hi Nicolas,
The URL that i am currently using is "http://localhost:8280/PSIGW/PeopleSoftServiceListeningConnector/SALES_ORDER_LOAD.1.wsdl
And when I paste this in IE I get the following response...
    &lt;![CDATA[ Unable to find a Routing corresponding to the incoming request message.  ]]&gt;
Status Code 20 & MessageID - 505 ... I could not paste the actual SOAP Fault message, as the Rich Text format was not resolving it correctly...
And on the Web Server window it says "[Fatal Error] :1:1: Content is not allowed in prolog.
I did lookup this particular error message for Weblogic and what I could make out is that the XML doc being provided has additional BOM Objects which need to stripped..
