Hi,
Does unlocking a queue teknically refers to deregistering the Q in SMQR?
in other words,
locking -> De-registering
unlock - > Register ?

    Hi Vinod,
    One possibility is the user does not have access to this operation. Please check with any other user (with more access) the same operation.

  • Force Messages using Applescript to use SMS Continuity for certain users

    Hi,
    I wrote an app in applescript to send iMessages to contacts using the line
    tell "Messages" to send msg to theBuddy
    where 'msg' is the content of the message, and theBuddy is either a contact's name or phone number.
    Because Yosemite was just released, I now want to integrate functionality into my app to send messages to users who do not have iMessage. However, when I put users' name in "theBuddy," the Messages app forcibly sends an iMessage to that user and ultimately fails to send. Is there a way in applescript to force Messages to send sms messages instead?
    Thanks,
    Nolan

    Hi Steve,
    Have you tried dealing with the return value from your macro? If you are invoking the MsgBox function in your test macro, you may need to allow the return value from MsgBox to pass thru back to AS. Something like :
    set MyRetCode to run VB macro "Macintosh HD:Users:xxx:Desktop:test.xls!test"
    (Note unless you've changed the hard drive name to "hard drive", the default boot drive name will probably be "Macintosh HD". Case does matter here)
    I also suspect you'll need to have Entourage up as well in the full case of running a macro in Entourage from Excel (or the other way around). Hence, the command ActivateMicrosoftApp in the Excel dictionary may also be useful.
    Second, you can have a macro, in a startup template, in Entourage call a macro in a startup template in Excel to accomplish what you want without going into AppleScript at all. This latter, VB-only, method will require a "Reference", as it's called in VBA, to be added to the TemplateProject in Entourage that points to the Excel macro you want to fire off. The added benefit of this latter method is that you will have access to the full range of VBA commands/options, rather than the smaller dictionary available in AS.

    Are you really still running 10.6.2, as noted in your profile? You really should update your system to 10.6.8 -> http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399.

  • Forcing Messages to be processed

    Hi Everybody,
    :. I need to process all pending messages before doing some task. Is there a way to process every message in the Event queue? Is there a flushMessages method or alike?
    Regards.
    kilsw5

    :. I bought a Java component that communicate to serial devices. The problem is that that component use Sleep method to wait for their answers, causing the whole GUI to freeze. No way to modify the component itself, so I was thinking to force repainting the whole app before calling any method of that component. I just want a simple synchronization, a way of flushing the AWT event queue. That would solve most of the problem.

  • Help - my BlackBerry messages are getting stuck.

    I've used BlackBerry messenger for a while but suddenly my outgoing messages seem to be getting stuck. I get a tick to say they've gone but they don't get delivered straight away. I know it's not a signal problem with the receiving BlackBerry as I've tested that. The messages go through eventually, usually when the other person messages me. Any ideas? Thanks

    I would guess you are experiencing some server slowdown, as I have noticed also in the past day some few messages get the tick mark for a few minutes before the D-delivered appears.

  • My mailbox shows that it's retrieving messages, but appears stuck!

    My server connections (via the connection doctor) were verified, outgoing e-mails can be sent, and the "Inbox" shows that the system is attempting to retrieve new mails, but the "Inbox" appears stuck. The "Activity Viewer" reads that it's "fetching 21 of 72 messages," yet the status bar shows no progress.
    Is this a Mail program problem? How can I "unclog" the program and allow incoming e-mails into the "Inbox?" Any help is most appreciated.

    This is a POP account, right?
    Sometimes messages left on the server clog up the account there, or Mail chokes on a message it cannot download and that prevents it from downloading the rest as well. Solving this problem will probably require deleting one or more messages from the server. What are your Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings?
    You may tell Mail to remove from the server all the messages that have already been downloaded doing Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove now. Alternatively, you may use the Account Info window to remove specific messages from the server; to use that feature, choose Get Info (⌘I) from the Action menu (gear icon) located below the mailboxes list in the main Mail window. And if the account allows web access, you may also remove messages from the server that way.
    Try first removing from the server messages that have already been downloaded. If that doesn’t work, you’ll probably have to delete the first message not downloaded yet. You may want to try to download those messages with another mail client such as Thunderbird first, to avoid losing them -- and use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner to import them back into Mail afterwards if you wish.

  • Force Message box acknowledgement.

    Hello all.
    I would like to create a script (Message WIndow), that when launched displays a message and prompts the user to press "Ok".
    I want to have the focus on the message and not allow the user to move the message window into the corner (i.e. not read the message and ignore it). Basically force them to press "OK" before they can do anything else on the computer.
    Is there any way to achieve this?
    Please see what I have below and thank you for any assistance!
    display alert "Title Alert" message "Please be aware that all work will be lost upon logout. Please be sure to save to external media, such as a USB drive or CD." buttons {"OK"} default button 1

    The short answer is no, this is not possible with AppleScript.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 server working for several months now messages are getting stuck in drafts folder

    This a small, simple environment. There is a MS Server 2012 R2 server hypervisor with a MS Server 2012 R2 VM running Exchange 2013 patched to SP1.  This server has been deployed into production and passing mail without issues for several months.
    Upon initial deployment, we experienced the issue that many have reported and that has been widely documented where Mail Flow works fine inbound, but outbound will stick in the drafts folder. We resolved the issue by manually configuring the IP Address of
    our internal DNS server (which is an installed role on our hypervisior / base layer server).  The issue was immediately resolved and mail was flowing in both directions without issue.  We later installed SP1 and there was no issue.  Mail has
    been flowing normally all the while.
    Now fast-forward through several weeks of reliable mail delivery... We experienced a power loss and a system shutdown and upon reboot, inbound is working and outbound goes to drafts.  I've confirmed DNS Lookup settings in ECP still points to our internal
    server as previously configured.  Both servers have internet access, NSLOOKUP returns expected values, and DNS appears to be working normally.
    I'm not sure if we had an MS Update that installed with the reboot that caused the breakage, if there was a lingering settings change that took effect on reboot, or what is causing the interruption.  I'm looking for some fresh ideas on where to look
    for answers, and all the information available on the drafts folder issue points to DNS settings that have already been put in place.
    Any constructive ideas are welcome!   Thanks in advance.
    David

    Amit,
    Long story short, I'm not sure how or why, but there were a few automatic services that were not starting "automatically."  I'm used to seeing some services that are triggered by the application to start and stop on their own, so I didn't necessarily
    panic when there were a few automatic services that were stopped..
    However, The MS Exchange Health Manager, and the Mailbox Submission services weren't running.  After manually starting the services my drafts folder emptied and we are back in business.. Maybe not "innovative" as you said, but it certainly put us on
    the right track.  We were looking so hard at DNS because of all the reported cases of "stuck in drafts" being related to DNS, we totally overlooked the obvious, so THANKS!
    Now the only question is, what stopped the services and why did they not restart automatically??

    As the title says, my messaging icon suddenyl dissapeared, and I finally found it hiding in the productivity icon. How do I get my messaging icon back on the home screen and out of where it is now?

    Drag it out.

    Hold an icon until they all wiggle then drag it out.

  • PSC2355xi Error Message - I'm stuck

    Here's the skinny:  I'm a technician with a utility company.  A user brought in their printer from home to have me take a look at, which I have no problem doing.  I worked for a national retailer for a long time and even got the chance to train with some good HP Technicians on troubleshooting and repairing printers.  However, I'm stuck on this one; and wanted to see if someone had any insight.
    I've been to Google with the error code and get nothing.  I've tried various 'hard reboots' on the printer itself (with and without the ink cartridges loaded), nothing seems to work.  I have opened the user-accessable compartments and cleaned them thoroughly using non-conductive cleaners.  I've cleaned the all rollers, ink pads, cartridges, cartridge clamps, etc.
    Error code displayed when trying to startup: 0x8809f1f8
    If I turn off the printer and power it back on, it sometimes gets to the point where it'll throw an error at me, sometimes it'll get part way through the first loading screen and then just stop and strobe the power and/or exclamation mark lights.
    Let me know if anyone's got any idea.  This printer is probably going on 4-5 years old.

    You are also not going to get the results you expect. Your methods don't actually do anything with the inputed Rat object.
    public void add(Rat x){
        //Effects:  Adds x to this
          int num2 = num;
          int denom2= denom;
          int num3, denom3;
          num3 = (num*denom2) + (num2*denom);
          denom3 = denom*denom2; }your num2 and denom2 values are the same as this not the x you sent to the method. You have a variable x that you never use.
    I think you indtended something more like this:
    public Rat add(Rat x){
        //Effects:  Adds x to this
          int num2 = x.getnum();
          int denom2= x.getdenom();
          int num3, denom3;
          num3 = (num*denom2) + (num2*denom);
          denom3 = denom*denom2;
          return (new Rat(num3, denom3));
    }you will also need the following two methods:
    public int getnum(){
            return (num);
    public int getdenom(){
            return (denom);
    }

  • TS3276 I have six email messages that are stuck in my Outbox.

    I would consider that the problem might be with my email service provider (ESP).  However, the emails have been sent from different ESPs with the same result - that they have not been delivered.  I am able to receive message and the connection doctor indicates that all connections are good.  Yet, I am unable to have these messages delivered.  This is a recurring (but intermittent) problem.  The problem usually resolves itself in a few hours.  However, this time is taking a bit longer - as my last message was sent this time yesterday.

    iCloud is not involved.
    All you need to do is add the accounts on each device, and make sure when you add contacts or entries to the calendar that you are selecting the correct contacts account and calendar account to add them to. On the iPhone, you can select which Calendar and contacts get new items added to them by setting the defaults under Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars->Calendars->Default Account same for Contacts.
