Forcing Switch to New Plan

I just want to express my dissatisfaction with individual phones within a family plan being forced to go to the new "Share Everything" plan, or should I say they only get the down side without the benefits of being force switched to another plan.  My daughter got a new phone so she's stuck with the 2 GB data plan that only she is on, yet she's still having to share the 1400 minutes on the old plan AND her phone cannot be used as a hot spot while the rest of us are still on the old plan.  Does she pay less for this???  NO!!  In fact she pays more for this because she goes over the 2 GB allowed and has to upgrade to the 5 GB.  This is not right, Verizon!

but she doesn't get the advantage of the "perks".  What "perks"?  She gets 2 GB data for $30, she shares your minutes and texting as before, and there is an extra charge for hot spot usage ... nothing has changed except there is now a cap on her data.  If she needs 5GB, then she'll pay a bit extra for the added usage, however, with diligence and aggressive use of wifi whenever it's available, the 2 GB cap is adequate for the majority of Verizon customers.
So we're paying the same price and getting less.  Doesn't seem right to me. If she does indeed use more than the 2GB, then yes, you will pay more for her data usage than you did when she had unlimited data. 
It may be worth looking into switching the family to the Share Everything - at least compare the cost.  You would all have unlimited voice and texting, and if any of you have smartphones, you would share a pool of data. And you would have the hotspot capability. Look over past bills and see what the average data usage is and plan accordingly; compare prices and decide if it would be worthwhile to switch.

    My wife and I are long term customers on a grandfathered Family Share Plan (2 lines with unlimited data, 1000 texts each, and 500 shared minutes). Now that my children are getting older I am ready to get them their own mobile phones; however, you won't allow me to add them to our existing plan (even if those new lines do not include a data package).  As recently as a few months ago I could have added a new line (talk only) for $9.99 per month. After an hour of discussion with your loyalty-program service rep, the only options offered to me were 1) give up the old plan and have all of us forced into a new one that will cost more while offering us significantly less, or 2) keep the existing plan for my wife and me and start a new "family" plan for my children (which,again, will be more expensive while offering less).  It would be much more convenient for all of us to be on the same plan with the same provider, but you are not allowing that to happen. Your customer service representative acknowledged multiple times that I have been a long term loyal customer -- but if you don't reciprocate that loyalty then I also am a misguided fool who is allowing you to take advantage of me. So now I will have to start investigating mobile service alternatives for my children; given the lack of loyalty that you have shown me thus far, l guess it's time to see what your competitors have to offer.

    I could do the same.  I believe you had possibly an older plan than what I had that allowed more than 3 lines.  I remember specifically being kicked back an error and telling me to move to the 1400 minute plan as that was the only one that support 3 or more lines.
    Too bad I don't have screenshots of it.  I purge my screenshots when making changes to anything on line for verification.

I was unaware I was able to keep my grandfathered unlimited data plan because the sales representative just said my plan was not offered anymore (and with me as a customer unaware that we are able to keep our original plan when signing up it frustrates me that a representative would do such to their customers) and I'm wondering if I could get that plan back as I am somehow going over 4GB when I do nothing different than I did before (with unlimited data I still only used about 3-3 1/5 GB every month) I'm very unhappy with the change and am contemplating leaving Verizon if I am not able to change back as my bill is  $80 more than previously.

    You can only keep you unlimited plan if you paid full price for the phone you upgraded to. So even if Verizon would let you switch back to you old unlimited data plan you'd still have to pay full price for the phone. You got $400 lying around to do that?

    The only "unlimited" plan I can think of where this would not apply is the old Connect plan for multimedia/basic phones.  That unlimited data, on devices such as the LG Voyager, EnvTouch, and other "multimedia" devices is  not the same.
    If you currently have an individual $29.99 unlimited data plan with a 3G Smartphone, then you can buy a BBQ10 retail and activate it with the same data plan and keep the unlimited.

  • Signing up for a new plan with Droid 2 global

    I want to sign up for a new plan (I am not a current verizon customer), switching from Tmobile. The problem is that the phone I want is the droid 2 global, which I cant get in stores until the 29th. I could order online, but I wont be at my home for the next few weeks to pick up the phone.
    There is a verizon store where I am going, but I will not be able to sign up for the new plan from there (due to some un related reasons that you dont need to worry about)
    My main question is, is there a way for me to sign up for verizon's services before monday the 29th, and only pick up the phone from a different store later?

    What is the point in signing up for the services before you have the phone?  Your current T-Mobile device will not work with Verizon.  If you have a Verizon phone already, you can call in or go to the store and ask to have the device activated on month-to-month service and port your number over if you wish.  You'll then have service on your Verizon phone, but no contract, leaving you free to sign a contract and get the Droid 2 at the subsidized price when and where you wish.
    If you don't have a Verizon phone, you'd just be paying for service you can't use, so why not wait until the Droid 2 is available at the store you want to buy it from?

  • Temporary Switch of Data Plan

    I have a temporary need for a mobile hot spot.  Can I temporarily change my data play to one with Mobile Hot Spot and then switch back?  I only need it for a week and don't have a permanent need for the hot spot.

    If they have the new plan that's combo plan you have to totally remove the reg data and hotspot since the usage is combined. You can add it and then future date the change to shut it off at the end so you avoid proration.

  • Not getting the option to install creative cloud. Only trial version or choose new plan

    I'm trying to install Photoshop on a second computer. Problem is I can't find the installer for Creative Cloud. When I log in at adobe.com and go to products, all i get is the option to get a trial version or sign up for a new plan. It's like it thinks I'm not already on a plan.
    Explicitly going to menu -> pc apps -> clicking the creative cloud icon takes me to the general creative cloud promotional page. I can't see any option to just install the creative cloud app.
    Am I missing something? Seached the forums and all the replies just tell me to go to adobe.com/products and install.

    Got to say that's a bit of baffling gui design. One would think a link to install Creative Cloud would be one of the main things needed for the account page on the website. Not only did I have to do something I didn't want to do (get the trial), but after installing the manager, it immediately started downloading and installing photoshop. I really hope it's not installing the trial version. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

  • Issue in assigning new Planning Calendar for MRP.

    Hello Experts
    I have trouble in setting up new Planning calendar for S&OP and MRP process. Let me explain in details
    Requirement is, currently I am using standard country specific Factory calendar format (monthly period) per plant. But new requirement has came up and Company wants to change beginning and end of period (monthly) -- as shown below
    Current Calendar
    1 July to 31 July = period 1 - 2014
    1 Aug to 31 Aug = Period 2 - 2014
    and so on..
    New requirement is ( Last week of Friday is end of Period) 
    Sat 28 June to Fri 25 July = Period 1 - 2014
    Sat 26 July to Fri 29 Aug = Period 2 - 2014
    Sat 30  Aug to Fri 3 Oct = Period 3 - 2014
    and so on..
    (basic concept is to keep
    4wk, 5wk, 5wk for Quarter 1
    4wk, 4wk, 5wk for Quarter 2. and so on.. )
    I have setup new planning calendar in MD25..
    ie. min period, start of period not a working day, Calculation rule & Period etc...
    then assigned new planning calendar in MM02 - MRP2 and also in MRP1 used Lot size PK... etc..
    But when i Put demand in MC88.. which gives us std month format and transfer to DM, then Ran MRP but some how MRP is not creating correct Qty in planned demand as per new calender..
    i.e..  1 July to 31 July = period 1 - 2014  if total demand Qty for Material XYZ is : 50
            I am expecting planned demand result in MRP as...   Sat 28 June to Fri 25 July = Period 1 - 2014  - should be 50 in total.. but It's not..
    Any reason? Or I am missing some settings?

    Business wants planning calendar in this format. And Fiscal Year Variant has also been set according to new calendar.
    KK, Regarding MC88 there is no option to incorporate planning calendar into S&OP process. And Organisation's S&OP process is set from day one (Planning by ProdGrp/Material) so MD61 would not be a good option to use.
    Umesh, regarding "start of period not a working day", I have selected "do not displace". And 27/09 and 27/12 dates are set holiday. The major issue here is: Not every 4th Sat of month is Period start day, MRP is picking new planning calendar (defined in above table) from the system But some how when transferring forecast data from planning table to demand management (MC88), system don't recognize new planning calendar and it distributes demand over weekly bucket per regular month Calendar instead of new planning calendar..
    Some how I need to incorporate new planning calendar into S&OP setup somewhere, Any thoughts?

  • New plan(s) bad for me ?

    The new share everything plans are offering less service for more of my money.  Below are my currents costs & services vs what the new plan.
    I have a total of 4 lines, (2) smart phones and (2) basic phones which cost's $180/mo. on my current/old plan.
    - $80 per month for talk/txt (700 min / unlimited txt).
    - $10 per month for each basic phone (no data)
    - $40 per month for each smart phone (unlimited data)
                                    -vs-
    The new share everything plan will cost me $220/mo.  That's $40 more per month than my current plan.
    - $80 per month for the unlimited txt/call & 6GB package (This based on average data usage of 3Gb/mo of data use on each smart phone)
    - $30 per month for each basic phone
    - $40 per month for each smart phone
    The only advantage of upgrading to the new plan would be for subsidized phone pricing, in which case would cost me nothing since I would likely choose the no-cost phones.  In the end this is going to cost me an extra $40/mo. for a 24 month contract wich totals $960.  Another option:  Instead of giving $960 to verizon, I could use that to purchase used or new phones (as needed) from some place other than verizon, and keep my current/old plan.
    These phone plan prices are getting crazy, which is leading me to think seriously of other alternatives.
    One that keeps coming to mind is eliminating verizon and getting prepaid phones with pay as you go minutes.  The idea is to use them as PHONES and nothing else.  This would save me a bundle of money.  I'm thinking of vacations, dinner with friends (on me), a new car.
    It's beginning to dawn on me that verizons new plans are a blessing in diguise...

    I agree the basic line charge is what is making it worse for those that just want a phone (dumb phone).
    Your reasoning that it will only cost an additional $20 is not quite the way I see it.  You are forgetting that additional data will be needed for the phones.  In other words I would need to up the data to 9-10GB.  That's an additional $10-20 per month.  So I would be going from $180/mo to $260/mo for total of $1920 over a 24 mo period.  Not to mention I would likely be paying a considerable amount for the phones as the dicounted price goes down significantly as you add lines.  That being the case, factor in another $500 or so bringing the total extra cost at $2420.
    When you do the math the absurdity of the pricing becomes more clear.

    I'm running OSX Mavericks 10.9.5, Firefox 39.7.0.2
    What happens is that i'm using an automated script with Selenium for automatic-forms-filling.
    Everything is working fine, just like it does on LinuxMint, but the problem is that when i bring another window to first plan (of any program at all) the "minimized" window running the automatic forms gets "maximized" i.e. brought to first plan when a javascript popup appears, thus not enabling me to run that window on background.
    Is there a way to run Firefox on OSX in such a way that Windows don't get switched to first plan when PopUps appear? It doesn't seem to have this behavior on LinuxMint.

  • How do I stop firefox from switching to new tab when opening bookmarks in new tab

    When I open a link in a new tab it does not switch to it automatically. I had to reinstall firefox to stop it from switching to new tabs automatically since the option being unticked didn't stop it from happening anyway. Now only when I open a bookmard in a new tab it still switches to the new tab and I do not want it to. Why is it doing this with the option unchecked and a fresh install with no add ons of any sort? And how do I make it stop?

  • Creation of new planning level in BPS0 in BW 3.5

    Dear Experts,
    I have to create a new planning layout in BW 3.5 BPS
    for this ,I have followed the below procedure:
    -Maintained the master data of new keyfigures in Info Object: Key Figure (0MEASURE) in RSA1
    -Copied the Similar Planning level in the same Planning area (in which I need to add the new one) and created a new planning level with its subordinate objects and then changed by deleting  the keyfigures except # and added the new keyfigures, to be maintained in new planning area and saved.
    -Changed the planning layout (which is created automatiacally whne we copied planning level) by deleting the existing key figures except 0KEYFG_FLAG and added the required key figure and saved.
    -copied the planning profile and created a new planning profile and changed it with required planning level and package and saved.
    -In T-code:upx_mntn1, I could see the new planning level with the required key figure there.
    But this new planning profile is not appraring in the CRM server.
    As I haven't  worked in BPS , please guide me if there is any thing needs to be done or any changes in the procedure followed.

    You don't buy an unlocked phone. You buy a Verizon iPhone at full retail. I just did this myself last month. I paid full retail for the phone and activated it on my plan. This allowed me to get a new phone before I was eligible to upgrade and keep my unlimited data. I also got a good deal on trading in my iPhone 5.
    You can buy the phone through Verizon or through Apple. If you buy it through Apple, I'd suggest that you not have them activated but do that yourself by logging into your account on your computer.

  • How do i stop it automatically switching to new tab, the setting is not ticked in options. This is annoying when opening several tabs.

    Although I do not have 'switch to new tab immmediately' ticked, when I ask to open in new tab it switches immediately. This is a problem as I open several tabs from my main page and don't want to go to them at once, I'll look at them in order as I need them. Since an update I now have it switching to the opened tab, and I have to keep flicking back to the main tab. It's giving me repetitive strain problems having to keep clicking the mouse more than necessary. It's an option in the settings, I'd like it to rmain that way. I seriously don't want to keep having to go back to my main page every time I want to open a new tab. Could you make it as it was before please, it was super then. Many thanks in advance. :-)

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
