Foreach loop... get managedby for a list of distribution groups

hello all. thanks for the time. this is probably a simple one. but for some reason i can't get this working.  I am trying to get the managedby property of a distribution list.  i can easily get that for one but i want to call a list of distros
from a text file.
for one group:
Get-DistributionGroup groupname | select displayname -expandproperty managedby | select displayname,name
for a list.. I am doing this but it is looping:
get-content c:\output\lists.txt | foreach {get-distributiongroup | select displayname -expandproperty managedby | select displayname,name} | export-csv c:\output\managedby.csv
what am i doing wrong? or is there an easier path... all help is appreciated.  thank you.

thanks that did make a difference but i changed it up a bit. otherwise it puts in a format of where the user account is located in distinguishedname format... below is my change and result.
the result is now:
[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-Content c:\output\test.txt |%{Get-DistributionGroup $_ |select displayname -expandproperty managedby|select displayname,name}
DisplayName                                                 Name

  • How to create a matchcode for the list of Customers "Group key" KNA1-KONZS

    Hi All,
    with reference to the creation of "Group key" KNA1-KONZS for Customers,
    I'd like to know if is possible to create a matchcode for the list of Customers "Group key" created.
    Thanks
    Gandalf

    Hi
    MAINTAIN THE GROUP KEY IN GENERAL DATA ---CONTROL DATA SCREEN
    If the customer or the vendor belongs to a group, you can enter a group
    key here. The group key is freely assignable.
    If you create a matchcode using this group key, group evaluations are
    possible.

    Do you mean that you want to read the cost centre group hierarchy for a cost centre?  So that instead of entering a cost centre group and reading down the hierarachy until you get to the cost centre codes at the bottom, you want to enter a cost centre and then read up the hierarchy until you get to the cost centre group at the top of the hierarchy.  If so, I don't think there is a function module to do what you want.  The cost centre group hierarchy data is held in table SETNOTE, so you could have a look at that.

  • Foreach Loop Container with a Data Flow Task looking for file from Connection Manager

    So I have a Data Flow Task within a Foreach Loop Container. The Foreach Loop Container has a Variable Mapping of User:FileName to pass to the Data Flow Task.
    The Data Flow Task has a Flat File Source since we're looking to process .csv Files. And the Flat File Source has a Flat File Connection Manager where I specified the File name when I created it. I thought you needed to do this even though it won't really
    use it since it should be getting its File name from the Foreach Loop Container. But when attempting to execute, it is blowing up because it seems to be looking for my test file name that I indicated in the Flat File Connection Manager rather than the file
    it should be trying to process in User:FileName from the Foreach Loop Container.
    What am I doing wrong here??? I thought you needed to indicate a File name within the Flat File Connection Manager even though it really won't be using it.
    Thanks for your review...I hope I've been clear...and am hopeful for a reply.

    Hi I  newly started using Iphone 6, I am not getting all the applications list under Use Cellular date for to restrict my unwanted apps on cellular data

    Hi Rajesh778484,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    I understand that some of your applications are not appearing under Settings > Cellular on your iPhone so that you can restrict or allow use of cellular data. If you have some installed applications on your iPhone that are not showing here, the first troubleshooting step I would suggest would be to reset your iPhone. Please refer to the attached article for information on how to perform a reset.

    The drop-down list displays items from your History and/or Bookmarks.
    You can control what shows (or nothing at all): Options > Privacy, "Location Bar" section. Options are:
    *History and Bookmarks
    *History
    *Bookmarks
    *Nothing

  • Unable to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL

    Please can you help with this issue.
    We are not able to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL.
    What we need is to use default credentials to authenticate user to get only those list which he has access to.
    clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials
    But in this case we are getting error saying ‘The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.’
    Instead of passing Default Credentials, if we pass the User credentials using:
    clientContext.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential("Administrator", "password", "contoso")
    It authenticates the user and works fine. Since we are developing a web part, it would not be possible to pass the user credentials. Also, the sample source code works perfectly fine on the SharePoint 2010 environment. We need to get the same functionality
    working for SharePoint 2013.
    We are also facing the same issue while authenticating PSI(Project Server Interface) Web services for Project Server 2013.
    Can you please let us know how we can overcome the above issue? Please let us know if you need any further information from our end on the same.
    Sample code is here: http://www.projectsolution.com/Data/Support/MS/SharePointTestApplication.zip

    Hi Mistry,
    I sure that CSOM will authenticate without passing the
    "clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials" by default. It will take the current login user credentials by default. For more details about the CSOM operations refer the below link.

  • Get URL for List and ListItem

    Hi,
    I have a SharePoint List (SPList) and need to provide the URL for the list. It should be possible to copy this URL to the browsers address field and navigate to the corresponding Details or Overview View (or default view) of the list.
    Additionally, I have a List Item object (SPListItem) and need the URL to directly navigate to the DispForm.aspx of this item.
    I tried it like this:
    string listURL = ... + "/Lists/" + myList.Title;
    string itemURL = listURL + "/DispForm.aspx?ID=/" + id;
    The URLs are correct as long as the "Internal Name" of the list is the same as the displayed name of the list. But in SharePoint it is possible to add a List-Template with no blanks in the name (e.g. 'MyList'), but later rename it and include a blank (e.g. 'My List'). In this case the listURL I retrieve with the above code snippet does not work anymore! For SharePoint only a URL with the list name without blanks is existent. In short: the URL does not include the blank for the list in the url but myList.Title does!!
    So my question is, how can I get a URL that directly leads to my list's Details view (or default view) and the URL that leads directly to the list items "DispForm.aspx"??

    Hi,
            It seems you need to get correct ListItem URL from ListItem’s property, and thanks for all helpful suggestions.
            In this situation, would you please try using List’s Form property instead of “SubString”, code like this:
            string itemURL = yourweb.Url+"/"+yourlist.Forms[PAGETYPE.PAGE_DISPLAYFORM].Url + "?ID=" + item.ID;
           Then  you will actual retrieve the correct path to the DispForm.aspx page.
           Hope this sample can help.
    Best Regards,
    -Aaron

  • Dynamically specify folder files for Foreach File Enumerator in Foreach Loop Container and load into destination

    hi,
    I need to load data into tables before loading data I have several folders like a1, a2,a3... each folder 'll contain a several .csv files. I need to load those csv files data into destination based on folder wise
    Thanks
    AVS

    you can use foreachloop for that. It has an option called recursive. So just point it to parent level folder and give recursive option and it will go through all folders
