Forecast upload

Hi,
we are implementing SCM APO and ECC for UKI client.
For DP we need to upload the forecast via interface.
there are 2 scenarios:
1.) to develop ABAP program which loads forecast into DP planning book.
2.)without ABAP development ,in DP module  customize and infocube and load a forecast file into the infocube then release the forecast from inforcube to DP planning are,
Can anybody advice me on this??
if anybody has got the documentation for uploading the forecast via inbound interface, than if anybody can provide me.
thanks
regards,
jignesh.

Jignesh
you will be better off loading into DP and releasing to PPDS. if you dont want to use the DP functionality it is fine... but loading is easiest this way: -
Create a MPOS and Planning Area and Planning book
If you have an excel sheet load the data directly
But if you insist on loading forecast to Order series (PPDS),here is a copy form a previous post
"Please check /SAPAPO/REL_TO_SNP - Release from InfoProvider to Supply Network Planning (am not sure if it is 5.0 specific)
you still need an infoprovider in (SCM)BW.
Please have a look at this help file
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/9e/c96c41c5f97e47e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
If you want an alternate option, take a look at BAPI_PIRSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI
Am not sure there is concise documentation for your case other than this and parts of the best practice documents. Looks like there is a lot of ground to cover in the design of data load
Suggest you open one question in a thread. as Mark pointed out it will only confuse

  • Material Forecast upload

    Hi all,
We are trying to upload material forecast weekly data by TCODE MM02. Our input file has 4 fields as below:
Plant, Material,     Weekly period, forecast value
    1101, 20222222,  2011/34,           120
    1101, 30222222,  2011/35,           110
    1101, 40222222,  2011/35,           130 and so on.
To create a upload program, we did the Recording and manually entered forcasting data  in u201CConsumption valsu201D which will automatically copy this data in u201CForecast valuesu201D by the system. But as in TCODE MM02, this weekly period is already populated and display only field so Recording is not capturing this field.
for example: Period is 2011/34 (Week 34 of year 2011). This 2011/34 is display only and we want to enter forecast value "120" for this week.
As recording is not capturing weekly period so how we can upload it?
Or Is there anyother way to upload material forecast weekly data? (FM, BAPI etc)
    Please help!

hi , you can use the following bapi for your requirement,
    BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA
    * Call the BAPI
    CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA'
      EXPORTING
        HEADDATA                   = HEADDATA

  • Liquidity planning forecast upload to BW

    Hi gurus,
We need to upload to Business Warehouse the cash flow forecast based on liquidity planning (with liquidity items assigned).
We have only found one extractor for liquidity planning: 0TR_LP_1.
Nevertheless this extractor seems to read only table FLQSUM (Liquidity Calculation - Totals Records), while the liquidity forecast is stored in FLQSUM_FC (Liquidity Calculation - Forecast Totals Records).
Could anyone tell me what is the extractor to upload the liquidity forecast.
    Thank you,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
to my knowledge there is still only this one extractor for this FSCM area.
I built a solution 5 years ago where we also had to make our own custom extractor on the line item tables. This was a rather difficult task, as we originally wanted to create a delta extractor – but issue is that data in the line item tables can disappear – not just be marked as historic but also simply be removed – so we actually had to build full load extractors and then limit them on the dates to upload.
Pls. also note that if you use manual liq. forecasts then these will only be available in the FLQSUM table – so you still need this one.
    Kind regards

  • Forecast Upload into DP

    Hi-
we have uploaded forecast into dp using the APO-BW functionality. also have created the CVC. but then the data is not showing up on in the planning book for DP. it says livecache anchor not found. could anyone enlighten us on as to why this error is popping up. We might be missing out a step or two so we will appreciate it if someone could guide us.
    Thank you

    Hi there
If you did not tick the "create time series objects" option, run the report /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_PLOB_DELTA_SYNC for your planning object structure, this should correct the livecache anchors for you and generate time series for all planning areas that use that Plobj.
Mark the option display error log to get a log in
    case of unsuccessful execution.

  • Forecast upload error - DTW

    Dear All,
Is it mandatory to have a positive value when you update forecast for an item?  How it works in a scenario where I forecasted for an item 100 quantity next month but now i would like to update with Zero (no forecast)?
    Please reply

    Hi Reddy,
IT IS NOT possible to UPDATE a MRP --> Forecast through DTW.
You will need to remove it manually and create a New forecast.

  • Forecast accuracy report

    Hi All,
Would like to know if there is any forecast accuracy report in ODP to verify that the forecast is valid. To give an example, if I collect the demand number and upload the forecast to calculate the forecast to order PO. We should know whether the forecast uploaded is valid i.e. is it possible for Oracle to state that this forecast is not correct according to the trend. Is there any exception report to state this kind of behaviour.

  • Maximum number of records to BAPI BAPI_PIRSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI

    Hi All ,
Could anybody tell me maximum number of records that can be passed to BAPI
    BAPI_PIRSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI.
This BAPI is used for forecast upload to SNP planning area (which can be seen in product view: /sapapo/rrp3).
Win full points for the resolution...
    Thanks in advance...
    Chandan Dubey

    Hi Chandan!
When you use read table, then you should define your tables as 'sorted' or 'hashed'. If you don't have a unique key or you need different key fields (in different parts of the program), then you can SORT the table and use binary search. But be careful, binary search for not correct sorted tables is possible, but won't find right entry. [end of confirmation]
Also in SAP's BAPI read table without binary search might be found -> not only your coding might be slower with higher numbers.
Variances in the runtime: of course different server load can have influences, also different buffer fillings (sometimes a value is in buffer, sometimes your SQL has to fill the buffer can occur.
But also different data content has influence. I don't know details, but I asume your data is matnr / werks dependent. Then the BAPI can have an overhead for each article or each site. So if you book 1000 sites for 1 article can be faster than having 100 sites for 10 articles - because 'in the end' the booking will be split by articles (for example!).
Check, what the leading object of this BAPI is (e.g. article). In the meaning of lock object of change document. It might be, that bookings for different entries of one article are not possible at the same time (in parallel) (and article is only example, you have to check).
When you plan to run your program several times, divide your parts (-> the data) according to this object, so that the same object is only part of one program run. In general there is not much to think about running a report several times with different data - just locking has to be checked. (As long as the whole system is not getting busy for 100%...)

    Chandan Dubey

Hi Chandan - There is no simple answer to this question.
BAPI_PIRSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI has a built in package (number of records to process) counter which sends packets of data to livecache for creating data. By default this BAPI will process all records at once but there is a BADI in this BAPI that allows you to set the package size as well as many other things. The performance will depend upon things like your system,  environment and volume of data. There are 2 limitations in 1) the prereading (retrieval of matlocids, matids, locids, pegids, etc.) which happens prior to the livecache call and 2) the livecache call itself. The prereading can cause a memory overload but that is less likely to happen compared to a livecache problem. The proceduress that call livecache can run out of more likel than the ABAP tables and cause the program to dump as well and the dump may be hard to understand.
What I have done with many programs is to add a wrapper around a livecache BAPI (or FM) call and use my own counter to send blocks or packets of data to the BAPI. For example loop through records in a program and call the BAPI for every 1000 records accumulating the return info in an internal table. The number of records in each packet or block is driven by a parameter on a selection screen or value in a ztable so the number can be tested and adjusted as needed. The reaction of livecache BAPIs will differ from system due to things such as hardware configuration and volume of data.
If you do not code to call the BAPI as I have described above, place code in the BADI to set the packet size or limit the number of records being input some other way, then you are taking a risk that one day a specific number of records will cause a dump in this BAPI.
I would think you would be safe with 500-1000 records but you should really test in your system and consider the options for packeting the number of records.

  • Monthly sales forecast file upload new combinations not getting loaded.

For one of our planning areas, I get sales forecast as spread sheet and upload this to the infocube.
We run CIF daily and monthly also to include all new material.
When I upload the file when I checked the log everything went fine with 3 warnings for 3 products with message "contents of the infocube not contained in BasicPlobStruc.
Now these material are already in APO by Sold to party is new and there is no combination to this Sold to party and hence the the data did not get loaded.
Now my Client wants to change whatever required so that all new combinations data are included in when month end sales forecast is loaded.
Can you advice what needs to be done as ther are large number of products I wont which are new combinations and as far as my knowledge is concerned , since there is no history CVC's are not automatically created.
    Can anyone advice.

    Hi Siva,
To b frank I did not completely understand what you are talking about as you are all over.
As I understand you are getting excel file for sales forecast and you upload the flat file to cube and generate CVCs based on this cube. You are not able to generate the CVCs for all combinations in the cube.
"Sold to party is new"-- where is this new? in the cube data?
"contents of the infocube not contained in BasicPlobStruc." - You get this warning if you have lets say 4 characteristics in your cube and only 3 of them in the planning object structure. This is ok. The rule of thumb is that "Your planning object structure has to be subset of your infocube". Which means that you cannot have 3 characteristics in cube and have all those 3 +1 additional in POS.
This still does not stop the system from creating all combinations int he cube as CVCs.
The possible reasons why the combinations(CVCs) are not generated from cube:
    1. If there are empty values in a record like below
    Plant--Materialsales org.-customer---qty.
    P1--M1SO1____----10
    P2--M2SO2C2--
    17
The system only creates the combination P2M2SO2C2 but leaves out the first combination..Why? you have an empty value and system cannot take it so it leaves it out.
    2. If you are checking the flag "Check SCM master data" in MC62 while CVC creation. The system checks the master data for products, locations and if the product or location does not exist the system doesnot create the corresponding combination.
Please correct me if I misunderstood you and also do not hesitate to ask more questions for clarity.

  • SNP Material view planning book - Upload forecast

We are using SNP heuristics for infinite planning, we have a key figure to maintain forecast. once we load the products into the planning book, we would like to download into local file which is possible and modify the numbers and re upload into the planning book. Advise if there is any option to upload the data from xls file to planing book.
In demand planning book, there is an option to download and upload however not able to see this option in SNP material view planning book.
Appreciate any help in this regard.
