Foreign language setting??

It seems crazy, but I can't figure out how to put pages into a setting so that I can write in Spanish without red underlining every word...there MUST be a way...right?
If you have any idea how to change the language setting, PLEASE let me know! It would be much appreciated :):)
Also -- does anyone know anything about getting a word count?

Short form of:
Click the Inspector button to open the Inspector window.
Click the Text button (T) in the Inspector window to open the Text Inspector.
Click the More button to expand the Text Inspector.
Choose the desired language using the popup menu in the Language section of the expanded Text Inspector.

Stuck in recovery (lanuage is set to foreign country and not changing when clicking on any other country) no wifi connecting tried ethernet not working? Just bought from ebay..2010 macbook pro..it was working fine when first put it on then i wiped the hard drive and tried to reinstall os mavericks but i cant understand any if of it because its in foreign language setting i go up to the right hand corner and change the language but it still just stays the same? A late 2011 MBP came with Lion (10.7). Since you say that you have erased the HDD, I suggest that you do the following:
YOU WILL NEED A SOLID INTERNET CONNECTION.
Boot the MBP with the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys.
That should result in a display with a revolving globe.
This will connect you to the Apple servers and allow you to install the original OSX (LION).
Follow the instructions.
Installing Lion will create your own account with Apple.
Then you may download and install Mavericks (10.9) from the App store..

How do I remove language sets?

I've just installed 10.3 onto an indigo imac, and it seems to be running well .... it even seems to be faster than 9.2
Is there a way to remove "foreign" language sets from the system? I'm hoping that doing so will save some HD space as it still has the original 7GB HD in it.

Taking over foreign language string from other application(VB6)

I have an VB6 program and an C# program.
My C# program have to take over several strings, which is foreign language, from VB6 program.
I want to use some file but cannot use text file because it doesn't keep the original foreign language text.
Which format do I use to transfer string between VB6 and C# program?
If I explain in detail, it'll be like following.
VB6 program have following table.
English German(or other foreign language)
Setting Einstellung
Close Zu Schließen
Cancel Rückgängig Machen
This window will be closed Das Fenster wird geschlossen
I want to send these English-Foreign language pair to the C# so that C# can use it.

C# will read it, parse it and assign to 2-dimensional string array and some method will return corresponding foreign language string like following.

How can i set predictive text to a foreign language

I'm new to apple and iPhones. I've got everything setup in English but I frequently want to send text and/or email messages in French. When I do this predictive text jumps in and changes things to what it thinks I want in English. e.g. if I type tous it predicts I want toys and inserts it accordingly. How can I set predictive text to a foreign language.
(p.s. my wife's iPad works fine as it has a button to press for alternative language but I don't see anything similar for iPhone)

Add the French keyboard.

As far as I know the language of the two stores on the iPad (iTunes and the App Store) can't be changed - they should be in the language of the country where your account is based (if they aren't correct then try logging out of your account by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in).

Thanks for the reply. I only have English - Primary but I guess I could add Finland and then delete it...
Okay, tried that, lots of variations including deleting all other languages and only using Finnish, and then using only British English etc - when guest is in Finnish the whole lot becomes Finnish/Suomi (see attached photos to compare with the ones above) - then when you delete Finnish and go back to English, everything is Englisg apart from 'Vierastilin käyttäjä' as above.
Any other ideas where it stores that info - is there a dodgy preference file somewhere which needs zapping?

i have a similar problem...It seems to be tied to my guest account. It is set to Japanese as primary language but my main login is set to English. I tried changing the guest account to english but the change won't hold. It always reverts to Japanese.

in my webapplication i have some code that gets data from a webpage of another webapplication. This other web application can use many foreign languages
the problem is that those foreign languages contain some special characters, and those special chars aren't displayed the right way

First please remember this is a public forum. If you are going to respond to the thread via e-mail please remove your signature prior to responding.
To resolve your difficulties you will need to go to the Language & Text preference pane. Once there click on Edit List and remove all languages besides English. You will then likely need to remove and reinstall the trial as the language setting I believe is set during the installation process.

Hp printer 3050 all in one j610 series. My window is in a foreign language

Hi, am wanting to purchase the above printer, it is 2nd hand & I urgently need to set it up to ensure it is working properly.
I however cannot change the foreign language in the window to put in mine. Can anyone help please. I never received a manual.

I see by your post that you would like to know how to change the language on the printer's display.
I would be happy to help you.
Select the Setup icon on the printer. (should be the first one or top one on the display)
Select the third option in the list. (Language)
Then select your desired language.
If you are still not able to change the language, I can send the reset in a private message.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

Foreign language Invoice

I am using SAP B1 2007A version and would like to be able to invoice in other languages. I have setup in ADMIN/SYSTEM Initi/Company Details to enable Foreign Languages. So now I can go to a B/P and set is to another language e.g Spanish. It also gives me the Option in Items to Translate an Item Description into Spanish. Next step was to design a PLD which is set to SPANISH (in doc layout) and indeed it picks up the Spanish translation. (I have assigned the SPANISH PLD to the relevant BP)
However, if I follow the same logic for other fields, it does not seem to work:
1. I have translated Method of payment field and I am unable to pick the traslated version in the PLD. ( I used OPYM table and neither the Description field or Payment Method Code field seem to work). I have spoken to somebody who has SAP b1 2007 version B and told me that it works on his version?
2. Since option 1 did not work, I have created a UDF for method of Payment and translated this. However after placing this field to the SPANISH Pld report, it does not pick up the translation. B1 2007B seems to be OK but my versionA does not seem to work.
Does anybody know if this is a bug? Am I missing something in my setup?

Sorry, I m not sure how I made this work but I think that it was related to the fact that if your Item is part of a Product Group then you need to ensure that the Group also has a Spanish Translation, otherwise all the Items which are part of this Group, will not show.

Reading a text file with foreign language characters

I'm trying to convert foreign language characters to English looking characters. I have code that works, but only if I hard code the string with foreign language characters and pass it to the function. I cannot figure out how to get my program to read
in the foreign characters from my file, they come in as garbage.
Since the function works when I pass a hard coded string to it, I'm pretty sure the problem is the way I have the Streamreader set up, it's just not reading the characters correctly...

Finally got it to work. I had to remove the first 5 characters from the replacement string (ŠŽšžŸ), couldn't find encoding that would handle these, and to be honest, I didn't really need them. The important ones are still there, was probably
just overkill on my part.
UTF7 worked for the rest...

FDM - Errors with Foreign Language Characters in Load Files

For our Netherlands data import file, our source account decriptions contain the character "ë". The account decription is not loaded to HFM, but we are receiving error messages when importing. Is there a way to ignore foreign language characters? Another post suggested "Administration", "Configuation Settings", "File Encoding Type" then set to "Unicode", but the version I am using does not have this option. Version is 11.1.1.3.

If you are using FDM v11.1.1.3.00 the file-encoding is defaulted to Unicode. It might be helpful to contact support.
It could be your DB isn't setup to handle unicode characters (in this event the information would be stored in the SQL*Loader or MSSQL Logs). It could also be the file you are trying to import actually isn't "unicode" but more of a local ANSI/ASCII format.
Most 'European' characters were supported in that release; and I know several clients that use it as expected.

Maps search nearby in foreign language

last night, i just updated my e90 and my girlfriend's n95 maps application as soon as i found out that have a new update. turns out to be more problems than a blessing.
first of all, all my previously downloaded maps have to be deleted and redownloaded again with the new maps loader. the new menus in maps have been swapped around that it tooks some time getting used to. then we found a bug beta testers definitely missed.
if my maps setting have set never use network, these menus are working fine:
find place >> nearby
or
use this place >> search nearby
but as soon as i turn use network back to when needed, these menus appear in a foreign language what looks to be german. hey com'on i don't read german. this happens exactly identically for both my e90 and my gf's n95. so its not phone specific problem, and it happened to other e90 users in forums. i also know this is not phone region problem bcoz my product code is singapore, and my gf's n95 is hk. so if it was region specific language should it show up in chinese instead? so **bleep**?! i used to love using map to search stuff, now i don't even feel like touching it until it is fixed assuming it will ever be fixed
