Form Field Border

I have a black page with a form on it. My form fields are
dark gray (set in CSS).
When I view the page the form fields have a white border
round them.
How do I change the border from white to black or gray so it
cant be seen?
NB On other sites with a white background the forms have a
gray background, but I cant find where this is set either.
Any help much appreciated!

I'm talking about borders on form elements.

  • How do I add borders to the form fields in the checkout page of my BC shop?

    I am setting up my Shop for my website www.myartscreative.com. So far, so good. I am testing out going through the steps of ordering a copy of my sketch book, adding the appropriate shipping, etc. However, I notice when testing the checkout page, most of the fields do not have a border around them which makes it hard to see where to  fill in the pertinent info. How do I add a border or fill (or both) the form fields so my customer can easily see where to type in their information?  Here is the link to my shop's "check out page".

    Ok, got it! So, I kind of figured it out by going into the Develop tab in the BC Admin and going into the modulestylesheets.css and modifying that. Check the link above again and you will now see the borders around the input fields. Probably no big deal to you pro's out there, but I am a total newbie up to this point. Thanks again!

  • What is the best way to clone a form field in BC

    Hi,
    What is the best way to clone a form field in BC.  I tried using jquery .clone.  It works fine on other forms for me but not on the BC forms, why? is it just me?  Any help would be great. Thanks

    I mean, duplicate a field with the click of a button.
    I think this should work, but it's not and  I am linked to the jquery library in the head of my page.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(

        $('input#tmpAddRow').click(
          function($e) {

            $('tr#tmp').clone(true).removeAttr('id').appendTo('tbody');
        $('tr input[type=text]').focus(
          function() {
            $(this).addClass('myFocused');
        ).blur(
          function() {
            $(this).removeClass('myFocused');

  • Acrobat X Pro detects no form fields in the PDF created by Excel

    I am using Acrobat X Pro on a Macbook running Yosemite OS X.  Office 2011 and Acrobat are both fully updated.
    I have created a PDF from an Excel spreadsheet.  two columns.  first column has text to describe what the user is supposed to enter in the second column.  the cells in the second column have a border box drawn around them.  I saved this Excel document as a PDF.  I opened it in Acrobat X Pro and used the Tool - Create Fillable Form.  It gives a message saying "No form fields detected".  What am i doing wrong?  Is there an issue with this process?

    i have read at least 4 articles and watch 3 videos that do almost the same process i have explained.  the only difference is that they used Word to create their PDF doc.  they had no issues.
    so i am wondering if there is something wrong with the Excel PDF process.  i have tried this one 2 different MacBooks with same result.
    what does the cell have to have in order for Acrobat to detect it as a form field?
    I have a spreadsheet that has over 300 fields that should have been detected.  so yes, i could create them manually, but i am hoping to get this Acrobat to detect them.
    I tried the process you did "File=>Create Form".  i got same message.
    i built a separate little test process to describe the issue.  see image that is attached.
    it is very simple, yet no fields were detected.

  • 2 Bugs in PDF Form Field Rendering

    Both of these bugs appear when "Show border hover color for fields" is on.
    In XObject streams used for Text Widget Annotation appearences the BMC operator does not properly respect whitespace. To reproduce:
    Create a fillable form field with a text widget annotation.
    Fill in text in the field, save the document
    Edit the content stream of the appearance stream used for the widget so that there are two spaces between /Tx and BMC instead of 1.  Be sure to shorten the content stream by 1 byte (shorten a string by a byte or remove a leading 0 in a decimal) when making the change so as not to change offsets.  Save the file.
    Open the file in Acrobat and note the text doesn't appear.  Turn "Show border hover color for fields" off and the text appears.
    In XObject streams used fo all WidgetAnnotations, the general color operators, CS, cs, SC, and sc are not respected.
    Create a fillable form field that uses /DeviceGray SC 0 sc to set the text color (this can be done by create a text field and filling it with a lot of repeating non-white space characters and then replacing the 0 g with /DeviceGray 0 sc then shortening the text string to keep the stream length the same.  Save the file.
    When the file is opened in Acrobat, the field will appear blank until "Show border hover color for fields" is turned off.
    An example file is here.
    This file has several fields, two which are prefilled.  The first field contains filled in text but does not show (it appears when you turn off "Show border...").  The second is visible.
    By editing the raw data, the second field (object 13 0) can be changed to exhibit both bugs.  To exhibit the BMC bug, insert a second space between /Tx and BMC and remove a space elsewhere.  The exhibit the second bug (after restoring BMC), change both "0 g" and "1 g" with "/DeviceGray cs 1 sc" and "/DeviceGray cs 0 sc" respectively (there is enough blank spaces to do that).

    Bugs must be reported via the official route at http://www.adobe.com/go/wish

  • Form Field Appear on Value Entered

    I am running Coldfusion 9 and building a website using Dreamweaver from CS5.
    Is there a way to make a form field appear only if a certain value was entered into the previous form field? If so how? For example I am creating a registration page and one of the form fields is "Property Type" where the user can choose from "Residential, Commercial, Other" from a drop down menu and if the user chooses "Commercial" I want an additional field to pop up for the user to enter a value in "Company Name"??? Thanks for your help

    WolfShade,
    My apologizes for posting this question in the wrong forum. Since I have already started the discussion here I will ask you my question here still. I put in the lines of code you suggested however when I go to the drop down list and select "Commercial" no text input box appears for the Company Name field. If you have a min I will post my code below. Your help is very much appreciated. I should let you know I also tried adding the on change to the actual option tag for commerical i.e <option onChange...>Commercial</option> and still did not appear. I put the work area in red text hope it helps.

  • PDF won't print form fields created within CS6

    Hello! I have created a document within InDesign CS6 that contains "Text Field" form fields. I exported the document as an "Interactive PDF" and within Adobe Acrobat 10 (Professional) I can see the the form fields as pale blue boxes (see screen shots below). When I print the PDF, however, the form fields disappear. No pale blue boxes on the paper.
    In the "Buttons and Forms" dialog box, each form field has "printable" selected under "PDF Options".
    Can anyone tell me how I can print a PDF with the blue boxes on the paper? I need them for proofing and approval processes.
    I am running WinXP.
    Thank you!

    Go to Form Editing in Tools> Forms. Highlight the field and go to the Text Field Properties>Appearance (Ctrl+I) and choose the Borders and Colors that you want to print. i.e a pale blue color (or any other border and color).

  • Aligned Form Fields Do Not Display Correctly Where Visible Borders Overlap?

    I'm on creating some forms & checklists for the company I work for to simplify our project workflow.  When adding text fields to the form I'd like to add borders to segregate the various fields & make the form more presentable.
    The problem I'm having, is that I'm unable to place fields immediately adjacent one another without leaving a gap.  If I do & use the snap to grid option, aligning the top of one field with bottom of another, it does not display correctly when printed.  The border lines appear to have differing thicknesses where they touch & this makes the form look terrible.  Currently I'm having to create the borders in an excel spreadsheet, convert to pdf & add borderless fields within the pre printed borders.  While this gives me the look i want, if I later want to add to or amend the form I have to start from scratch first modifying the initial excel layout which is too time consuming.  I'm using Acrobat X Pro.  Any assistance appreciated.
    Regards
    John

    There are at least two techniques to allow you to change the underlying layout and remake the static part of the PDF, without having to redo the form fields (except new ones, and moving as needed).
    That is replace pages and copy-paste of form fields.

  • Editing Form Field color and search field

    I am designing a website - nextmedian.com and I am having

    The Contacts webpage html code is:

    They look dark blue to me. Disable your Google toolbar.

  • Can I make form fields highlighted by default?

    When the user opens the form, can the form fields be highlighted by default?
    Thanks.

    Normally you;d place the code in a  document-level JavaScript, outside of a function definition. To do  this, select: Advanced > Document Processing > Document  JavaScripts > Add
    - Yes, that's exactly what I did and pasted the code above into it, giving it a name.
    Delete the function skeleton that it provides by default and enter the code.
    - I didn't see any function skeleton, but a blank window.
    But  I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing. What I  suggested will highlight the active fields (e.g., not hidden and/or not  read-only) with a background color, which defaults to light blue. If  you're asking about a field border color, what you may be seeing are the  red borders of the fields that are marked as required, which is a  different matter. Can you clarify which you're asking about?
    - No, I don't see any red borders. Yes, I wanted to highlight the active fields with a background color. In the case of the code above, the color is "red" not blue so I expected to see a red background color. Won't the code above make the background color red? My forms open with a blue highlight by default (can't figure out why) so the only way I can check to see if it's working is to use a different color.

  • Required form fields - help.

    Hello:
    Knowing next to nothing about html code, Javascript and submission forms, I was hoping to make the following form fields below mandatory.
    Below is the script for doing so and below that the form. Can someone please adjust the form below (to work with the Javscript) so that it will function, so that I can just copy the adjusted code, paste it all into the form page and be on my way? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Rather than re-inventing the wheel, why don't you use Spry Validation widgets for your client side processing? Have a look here http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/demos/formsvalidation/index.html and here http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/.
    Mind you, using JS your are only validating on the side of the client. If JS is turned off in the browser, there will be no validation. Therefore you should look at serverside validation as well.

  • How to make form field that will highlight text

    I have a calendar with several lines of text in each days box (yoga classes with class name and time). I need to create an interactive pdf which I can send to my teachers so they can highlight their availability to teach. I would like for them to be able to click on class times and have those times become highlighted. They could then save this form and send back to me. Please help... seems like it should be fairly easy but I've messed around for two days trying to make it happen with no luck!!

    The problem is that form fields don't have an opacity setting, so they're
    not very suitable for highlighting text.
    Your options are to use a form field (like a button) with a transparent
    fill color and a colored border, and then have the border become
    transparent when clicked, or back to the color when clicked again, or you
    could use a combination of an annotation and a button field. The button
    will show/hide the annotation when clicked. The latter will look nicer but
    is more complicated to implement.

  • 2 Form Fields into one DB Entry

    I apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered multiple times. I am new to this and extremely frustrated because I keep getting stuck.
    I am using Dreamweaver to create a website with Coldfusion as the server. I am using Quickbooks and QODBC to use the DB to integrate with CF.
    I have created a form with multiple fields all text entries. I have been able to get all the information to post into my database correctly. However my question is I want to create a multiple entry that would combine two form fields into one column in the database table. For instance I have First Name and Last Name as form fields when the user submits I want these to both enter into their respective columns in the table but also combine into one entry with format Last Name, First Name into a FULL NAME Column in the table. Is this possible if so how????? Thanks in advance.

    This is my current code::

  • Merging form fields before posting

    Does anyone know how I can merge three form fields into one
    field before I post it to another page?
    The first two fields are drop-down lists and the second is a
    text field. The page that they are posted to runs a PHP script that
    uses the merged data.
    for instance, if DropDown1value = "123" and DropDown2value =
    "456" and the TextFieldvalue = "789"
    I want them all to merge so that the value passed to the PHP
    script = "123456789"
    I know that the merged data will need to be stored in a
    hidden field but after hours of googling, I just can't seem to find
    how I merge the feilds before they are posted.
    I know that I can do this with a SQL CONCAT statement but I
    do not want this sata to enter a database.

    I'm assuming that the bnrphonenr field is the one you want to
    contain
    the conectenated values. Add this to the <head> area of
    the page:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function setValue(f) {
    with(f){
    bnrphonenr.value=
    country.options[country.selectedIndex].value +
    area_code.options[area_code.selectedIndex].value +
    number.value;
    //-->
    </script>
    Change your form tag to this:
    <form
    action="https://myaccount.voipbuster.com/clx/callmenow.php"
    method="post" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"
    onSubmit="setValue(this)">
    Change these:
    <input type="text" style="border: 1px solid #BBBBBB;"
    name="number"
    size="20" value="" onkeyup="'bnrphonenr'= 'country' .
    'area_code' .
    'number'" onchange="'bnrphonenr'= 'country' . 'area_code' .
    'number'"
    id="number">
    <input type="hidden" style="border: 1px solid #BBBBBB;"
    name="bnrphonenr" size="20" value="" onkeyup="return
    checkDisabled();"
    onchange="return checkDisabled();"
    id="bnrphonenr">
    To these:
    <input type="text" style="border: 1px solid #BBBBBB;"
    name="number"
    size="20" value="" id="number">
    <input type="hidden" style="border: 1px solid #BBBBBB;"
    name="bnrphonenr" size="20" value="">
    And remember that it's going to fail sometimes. ;-)
