Form Results Confirmation

Hi there,
I've seen this effect on a website where when somebody
submits a form, instead of taking them to a new page, it simply
changes the text on the same page. I would greatly like to know how
to do this.
Where I have seen it can be found by visiting
this website.
Regards,
Kristopher Kerr.

This is normally done using server scripting. The form
submits to a
processing script which both sends the email notification to
the recipient,
and also echoes the submitted data back to the page. Do you
know any server
scripting?

  • DW CS5, Sending contact form results to email with page redirection using php script

    I am currently building a site from scratch with Dreamweaver, with the intent of replacing my current website layout that was designed using Intuit's website builder. My dreamweaver site is not online, but i have setup a local test server on my computer, using XAMPP, and i have an apache server with a MySQL database and a mercury mailserver running. I mention that in case it makes a difference in your answers. If necessary, I can include those settings, but that may be asking too much.
    I have an html contact form for users to schedule service appointments. I need the resulting actioned php file to do the following after submit is clicked: verify certain fields have been entered; prevent spammers or verify human visitors; send the form results to a (hidden from public view of any kind) email address; redirect user to a confirmation page, or an error page.
    I found the following code but being less than a newbie im not sure what needs to be changed, or if its even the right script i should be using:
    5 <?php
    6 $email = $_POST['email'];
    7 $mailto = '[email protected]';
    8 $mailsubj = 'You Have a Service Request';
    9 $url = '/MyLandingPage.html';
    10 $req = '0';
    11 $mailbody = "Results from form:\r\n";
    12 $space = ' ';
    13 $line = '
    14 ';
    15 foreach ($_POST as $key => $value)
    16 {
    17 if ($req == '1')
    18 {
    19 if ($value == '')
    20 {echo "$key is empty";die;}
    21 }
    22 $j = strlen($key);
    23 if ($j >= 20)
    24 {echo "Name of form element $key cannot be longer than 20 characters";die;}
    25 $j = 20 - $j;
    26 for ($i = 1; $i <= $j; $i++)
    27 {$space .= ' ';}
    28 $value = str_replace('\r\n', "$line", $value);
    29 $conc = "{$key}:$space{$value}$line";
    30 $text .= $conc;
    31 $space = ' ';
    32 }
    33 mail($emailadd, $subject, $text, 'From: '.$emailadd.'');
    34 echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0; URL='.$url.'">';
    35 ?>
    Can anyone please illuminate me on what I need?
    Thank You in advance

    Take a read here, this might enlighten you a little.

    You are doing this with your local testing server, is it set up to email?

  • How do I reorder the form results from a non-BC form in Muse?

    I have a problem with Muse, in that the emails that get delivered from filled-in forms have various fields in the wrong order and not the order that the fields appear in the actual form.
    How do I ensure the form results emails maintain the order of the fields in the form?
    For example, on the www.actconstruction.com Subcontractors form, several of the fields are wildly out of order. Here's a screen capture of the form results email:
    Here's the form as it appears on the site. You can see the fields are in completely different order to the results emai:
    So, how do I make sure the fields follow a particular order that I want them to (i.e. in the order I placed them in the form itself)?
    The form can be seen at www.actconstruction.com/contact-us.html. This shows the actual order of information. The form results email should follow the order exactly as shown on the web site.
    I've had complaints from clients about this and need to handle it immediately. Please have someone get back to me with a figure-out.
    Many thanks,

  • Can I set up form results to be viewed in a password protected area?

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a form to capture leads for my new lead capture website. I have a bankruptcy business and would like another, new website that I can capture bankruptcy leads from a form. A lead would, of course, be someone who comes to my site and is interested in contacting with an attorney to schedule a free consultation by filling out an online form - "name, state, county, debts, etc.)
    What I would like to do is set up a nationwide site and sell, refer, give, trade? leads from other states to other local attorneys.
    So, my question is, could I set up a form with FormsCentral that I could integrate with a password protected section of my website that the other lawyers could login to in order to check form results? Could it be set so many different users (ie lawyers advertising on my site) could login to check results for their personalized form (for example lawyer A in State A can log into his own private page to check results from Form A, lawyer B in State B can login to a private page to check results from form B and so on and so forth...) Would I need a developer to code this application? Any help would be appreciated.
    Obviously this project was a larger than I expected.
    Thanks a lot!

    We likely wouldn't be a good fit for this. You'll likely have to build a custom application (developer doing coding) to support your use case.

  • Can we add logo to sapscript Form Result while coverting to PDF?

    Hi Expert,
                    My requirement is, I have to covert Form Result to PDF.but while converting  Form result to OTF , Can we Add logo to the OTF data? Can logo be saved in text format? only then we can add logo to OTF data probably.
    Please Help.
      Thanks in Advance

    As you have probably searched the forum, you saw that you can get the sapscript result as OTF.
    Graphics are automatically handled by SAP which stores them in the OTF (RD and BM lines).
    And then you convert OTF to PDF as usually.
    So, where is the question?

  • Emailing form results in Robo HTML

    Hi Guys.
    I'm an idiot. I have looked through this forum and I can't
    figure this out, and it seems like it must be so basic.
    I am using RoboHTML, and I want to use a form for feedback
    from my user peeps, because I want specific details that I'm afraid
    they won't include if I just make a "Mail me your thoughts" link.
    So - I created a form with very few elements (a couple of
    text fields...). My question is, what code do I need to use to get
    the "submit" button to email the form results (or can this be done
    without a cgi script)?
    Any help would be appreciated...or even if you tell me to
    stop wasting my time 'cause it ain't gonna happen....
    Chris

    Chris -
    Don't beat yourself up - you're not the first person with
    this issue. Hence, I'll cut-n-paste from a post I made previously:
    There are two families of mailto: methods. First, and most
    reliable, is the server-side application. You need some sort of
    server-based script to grab your user info, and ship it off.
    Nothing is saved on the user machine.
    Or, you can use a client-side script. But, it has severe
    limits. Some browsers don't recognize the Mailto links, and IE
    forces a 256-byte limit. Half of this paragraph is used up by the
    mailto header. So, you'll be lucky to get two sentences in the
    BODY= part of the message, if it goes at all.
    Using the FORM method allows a client-side workaround; the
    message content is indeed embedded in the .att file, but you need
    to set the parameters as enctype="text/plain" for the content to be
    legible.
    Here is a decent explanation of the client-side/server
    difference for forms:
    http://www.netmechanic.com/news/vol5/beginner_no19.htm
    ...here is a previous thread wherein I provided a client-side
    mailto that uses a proxy form to get the info into the .att file.
    It may be the same technique as the knowledgebase article, but your
    .att file can be read without a decoder ring...
    http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=447&threadid=10095 25&highlight_key=y&keyword1=mailto
    Further down the thread, you'll see where MergeThis has a
    client-side mailto: that is subject to the half-256 byte limit.
    Hope that helps.

  • Display form results

    I am creating an HTML form for a customer where customers
    will fill out the form then print it off to send in with a
    registration payment. Is there a way I can have the user redirected
    to another page with the form results displayed so that they can
    print them. I do not want to create a database for this as the
    customer does not have hosting yet and I am not sure what database
    would be available. They also are not going to be saving the
    information. I could have the user just print the form after it is
    filled out but that obviously does not look as good. Appreciate any
    ideas you might have.

    Thank you for the quick response.
    I have never done any coding in ASP so sorry if I have
    several questions that might seem very basic. Below is the start of
    my form including the first two form fields. Is the post method
    correct?
    <form action="print.asp" method="post" name="form1"
    target="_blank">
    <table width="98%" align="center" cellpadding="5">
    <tr>
    <td colspan="2"><p align="center"
    class="headline">Required
    fields are marked with a *. Please be sure
    to fill in all required fields.</p>
    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td class="headline"><div align="right"
    class="style8">
    <label class="style5">Course Date: </label>
    </div>
    </td>
    <td class="normal"><select name="course">
    <option value="">Select a course date
    <option value="March 5th-9th, 2007">March
    5th-9th, 2007
    <option value="March 26th-30th, 2007">March

    <option value="April 30th - May 4, 2007">April
    30th - May 4, 2007

    2007
    <option value="June 25th-29th, 2007">June
    25th-29th, 2007
    <option value="July 23rd-27th, 2007">July
    23rd-27th, 2007
    <option value="August 13th-17th, 2007">August
    13th-17th, 2007
    <option value="September 10th-14th">September
    10th-14th
    </select>
    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td class="headline"><div align="right"
    class="style8">
    <label class="style5">Contact Name: </label>
    </div>
    </td>
    <td><label>
    <input name="name" type="text"
    onBlur="MM_validateForm('name','','R','address1','','R','city','','R','phone','','R','ema il','','R');return
    document.MM_returnValue" value="" size="25"/>
    </label>
    <span class="headline
    style5">*</span></td>
    </tr>
    Not exactly sure how to do the Request.Form("nameOfElement")
    for the "print" page. I understand that "nameOfElement" would be
    changed to "course" and "name" but not sure on the rest. Should
    this be in a "form"? Again, sorry, never worked with ASP before.

  • Form results email when its loads and when it's submitted

    I have a form that sends the results to a database and also e-mails the results to me once the. It works, however, I get two e-mails send to me. The first is when the page is loaded, and the second is when the form is filled and submitted. Obviously I don't want it to send an email with blank results just because the page was accessed. Somewhere in my code I need to correct that it only should email on submit. I'm still learning and it took me a while to get to this point. Could someone look at my code and see what I've done wrong? Thanks. Patty

    <?php
    mysql_free_result($Recordset1);
    ?>

    There are quite a few things wrong with your page:
    You don't need a recordset, because you never to anything with it.
    The mail script needs to go inside the conditional statement that performs the Insert Record server behavior. This will make the Insert Record server behavior no longer editable through the Dreamweaver dialog box.
    You assign the value of  $_POST['email'] to $emailfield, but later use $email, which has no value.
    You are putting an unfiltered email address into the headers of the mail() function. This exposes you to a malicious exploit called email header injection, which is likely to turn your form into a spam relay, and get you banned from your hosting company.
    You're using two different variables for the email headers: $header and $headers. The variable passed to the mail() function is $header, so the value of $headers is ignored.
    You're setting the content-type to text/html, but there's no HTML in the body of your email. Since the content-type is assigned to $headers, the variable that's never used, it makes no difference anyway.
    This is where you should move the email script to:
    if ((isset($_POST["MM_insert"])) && ($_POST["MM_insert"] == "form1")) {
    $insertSQL = sprintf("INSERT INTO Results (`Date`, Company, FirstName,
    LastName, MailingAddress, City, `State`, Zip, Contact, Title, Phone,
    Fax, Email, Website, Name, PhoneNumber, Emailcontact) VALUES (%s, %s,
    %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s)",
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['date'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['company'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['firstname'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['lastname'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['mailingaddress'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['city'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['state'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['zip'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['contact'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['title'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['phone'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['fax'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['email'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['website'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['Name'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['phonenumber'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['emailcontact'], "text"));
      mysql_select_db($database_BidContractReg, $BidContractReg);
      $Result1 = mysql_query($insertSQL, $BidContractReg) or die(mysql_error());
    // Email script goes here
      $insertGoTo = "HVAC/confirmation.htm";
      if (isset($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'])) {
        $insertGoTo .= (strpos($insertGoTo, '?')) ? "&" : "?";
        $insertGoTo .= $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'];
      header(sprintf("Location: %s", $insertGoTo));
    If you want to use the visitor's email address as the From header, you must filter it first. As long as your server is running PHP 5.2 or above, you can do this:
    if (filter_input(INPUT_POST, 'email', FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)) {
      $email = $_POST['email'];
    } else {
      $email = null;
    $header = "From: $email\r\n";
    If your server doesn't support PHP 5.2 or above, it's time to move. Earlier versions of PHP are no longer supported, and are likely to be insecure.

  • How can I copy an email address from the form results while online?

    Our form contains a field where the users submitted their email address.  But I am not able to mouse over this data in the "View Responses" tab, and copy the email address by selecting the email address and Ctrl C, and neither can I right-click this data field and copy it.
    Our organization just switched to Microsoft Office 365, and "mailto" links on web pages can no longer be clicked to launch a native desktop email client program.  So the users tasked with responding to forms submitted via Formscentral now have a much harder workflow.  They are compelled to download the data as a spreadsheet, just to be able to cut and paste an email address into their reply email.
    I suggest and request that the Flash-based "View Responses" tab be modified to allow email addresses to be selectable and able to be  copied to the "clip board".  This would allow users who can't execute a clickable mailto link to copy and paste the email address from Formscentral into a new email.  Many organizations like mine are moving away from native client-based email programs like Outlook to save money,  in favor of cloud based SAS web-based email like Office 365.
    Is there some other way to enable mailto links where no client email program is installed on the users PC?
    Thanks,
    -Dave Bartholomew

    While I am still looking for a better answer, I've discovered a way to cut and paste email addresses from the FormsCentral "View Responses" dashboard.  I wrote up the instructions to help our users and thought I'd share them in this forum as well.
    But it would be nice if there was a simpler solution...  Can anyone offer a better way?
    -Dave B
    ) Right-click on the email address
    ) Select “Filter by: …”  Doing this will change the view to show only entries that were sent from the selected email address.
    ) And it will display the Filter in the header of the form.
    ) Left-click on the email address displayed in the filtered results, in the header of the form.
    ) A new sub-form will appear, and the email address can be cut and pasted from this new sub-form.  Highlight the email address and hit “Ctrl C”, or right-click and select copy.
    ) Now you can paste the email address into a new email in Office 365. (Ctrl V) or right-click and select “Paste”
    ) Click the “Clear” button and then “OK” to exit the filtered view of the data.

  • Dynamic Text in Form Results

    Anyone know how do I include the dynamic text box data in a
    form? The user clicks on a picture when then populates a dynamic
    text field box with the text using external txt files. I then want
    the user to be able to email the form with some input fields filled
    out (which is working fine), but I cannot get the text from the
    dynamic fields to come through in the email. Thanks

    Acually this seems to be just fine. All the underlined words
    are variables,
    sent from Flash to PHP.
    Your variable loadText seems to be shaken a little. Is this
    variable the one
    you`re looking for?

  • Automatic export of form results?

    I have a form that different users will receive, they will fill out, click submit, and then Tracker will do its thing for me. That is great in order for ME to see the results. I need two supervisors to also see the form data. Right now, I email them an Excel document with the results in it. But, if I am not here or out sick or something, the supervisors wouldn't receive any data. Is there any way to automate a distribution to them?
    So, in other words, clicking "Submit" on a form sends the info to Adobe.com and alerts me via the Tracker. But how can another person also be alerted and able to see the data?

    I am not sure if this will work, but when you are in form designer, in the submit button object validation, you can add multiple emails seperated by a comma.

  • How to create a XML Form with confirmation Page

    Hi!
    I need to create a XML Form that have a confirmation page to enter de data and save it (into XML file).
    It's possible to make it with the XML Forms Builder, or I need to make it manual at xml & xsl??
    (Sorry about my poor english!)

    Hi Ernesto,
    there is currently no confirmation message available in the XMLForms EditForm. But you can use the "preview" button to show how it looks like, before you are using the "Save" button.

  • How to save PDF form results online

    I have a form that is a job application. I currently have a form made in html that sends the results to an email. The email would contain an array of results. The results are ugly because there are so many different variables. Putting the results into a PDF form would be a lot better. Here are two different options that I have worked up:
    Option 1
    I would like the PDF to be viewed by the user filling out the application and be able to be sent to the company's email directly as a pdf. I do not want the results in XML format or FDF format. The company does not have Acrobat Pro to load the results. Unless there is a way to do it without Acrobat Pro I would like to stay away from that. We are using a PHP5 system.
    Option 2
    I would like the user to fill out a form (non pdf) and my server to process the array and plug in the results into a PDF form that will send to the company's email as an attachment. The form needs to be in PDF format not FDF or XML.
    I have the programming knowledge to send the email. I simply do not know how to get the form in a PDF format after the forms are filled out.
    Thanks for your help!
    --Justin Massey

    Your first option leads for license issues if you have many applicants to deal with. The second option is reasonable, but you would submit the form data (FDF or XML) to a web server that would process the data. The data can then be used to repopulate the form to send to the administrators. I am not sure about the license restrictions on the latter, but I think it is within bounds. The issue with the second approach is the development of the system to do the process.

  • Export form results to pre-formatted Word or PDF email

    I am new to this forum and new to Dreamweaver 8 and I have a question.
    Here is what I want to achieve, using on online form:
    My salesman inputs his client's name, address etc.;
    The salesman selects the products or services that his client is interested in;
    Some of the items selected need to be named, so he has a field where he can type in the name;
    Once the salesman has entered all of the client's order (or quote), he hits submit.
    Now here is where it goes over my head.
    The results of the order, as typed in, are exported to a Word document, which has been pre-formatted with our colors, logo, etc. The finished product is a professional-looking document that can serve as either a proposal or an agreement.
    The document is automatically emailed to the client, and can be printed right from the client's computer. Instant good-looking document.
    Am I dreaming? Can this be done in Dreamweaver or using another prodcut that you might know about?

    It's possible, but speaking from experience it is not a path that I would recommend a business to take.  Here's the reasoning behind this.  While it is good to make these nice looking quotes and other documents, are you planning on storing the information in a database or in some way that would be accessible to your invoicing system (or are you building the invoicing system? if so that is a completely different beast).  Having these are nice, but if the quoting system is separate from the invoicing system, it is a path that most businesses, and especially sales people, want to avoid.  It would be creating an extra unnecessary steps in their process.
    My suggestion to you would be that you if have the programming experience and want to undertake the job go for it.  Dreamweaver won't program this for you though.  So if you don't have the experience there are plenty of invoicing/quoting/sales solutions out there for .NET, PHP or whatever programming language you wish to use.  Off the top of my head for PHP, SugarCRM comes to mind.  I am pretty sure they have some invoicing modules, plus it is a CRM so your sales people can keep track of who they meet.
