Export form results to pre-formatted Word or PDF email

I am new to this forum and new to Dreamweaver 8 and I have a question.
Here is what I want to achieve, using on online form:
My salesman inputs his client's name, address etc.;
The salesman selects the products or services that his client is interested in;
Some of the items selected need to be named, so he has a field where he can type in the name;
Once the salesman has entered all of the client's order (or quote), he hits submit.
Now here is where it goes over my head.
The results of the order, as typed in, are exported to a Word document, which has been pre-formatted with our colors, logo, etc. The finished product is a professional-looking document that can serve as either a proposal or an agreement.
The document is automatically emailed to the client, and can be printed right from the client's computer. Instant good-looking document.
Am I dreaming? Can this be done in Dreamweaver or using another prodcut that you might know about?

It's possible, but speaking from experience it is not a path that I would recommend a business to take.  Here's the reasoning behind this.  While it is good to make these nice looking quotes and other documents, are you planning on storing the information in a database or in some way that would be accessible to your invoicing system (or are you building the invoicing system? if so that is a completely different beast).  Having these are nice, but if the quoting system is separate from the invoicing system, it is a path that most businesses, and especially sales people, want to avoid.  It would be creating an extra unnecessary steps in their process.
My suggestion to you would be that you if have the programming experience and want to undertake the job go for it.  Dreamweaver won't program this for you though.  So if you don't have the experience there are plenty of invoicing/quoting/sales solutions out there for .NET, PHP or whatever programming language you wish to use.  Off the top of my head for PHP, SugarCRM comes to mind.  I am pretty sure they have some invoicing modules, plus it is a CRM so your sales people can keep track of who they meet.

  • Export form results - XLS and HTML/CSS

    Hi,
When I save my form's responses to XLS on my PC, I can't open the XLS form: I get an error message saying that the document I'm trying to open is in a different format than the extension. I open it anyways, but the document looks empty.
Any idea? I run Windows 7.
Also: once I get my form response, I would like to embed some of these responses on my website in a nice presentation. I run an ad website: people submit their ad in a form format and I need to re-publish this ad in a format that does not look like a standard form. Any idea how to do that?
    Thanks,
    Vanessa

Can you please share the form with me ([email protected]). I will try it on my system.
Instructions on how to share can be found here : http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2462
Did you have a look at our Summary Report tab? You can publish (and embed in your website) the summary report. Let me know if you want more information about that.

  • Exporting SQL results in Excel format

    exec master..xp_cmdshell'bcp "select * from [db name].[table name]" queryout D:\testing1.xls -o "D:\querycommanddetails.txt" -T -c -C RAW'
I'm running above query on my local machine but System is showing output as 'NULL'.Can anybody help?

I responded to you (or was that someone else?) earlier today when you posted to an older thread. I suggested that you should start a new problem, if my answer did not sort things out for you. But you are repeating the question?
In any case, since you redirect output with -o, BCP will not print anything, and when the command batch produces no output, xp_cmdshell produces a single row with the value NULL.
Beware that your command creates a tab-separated file, not a true Excel-sheet; that is not possible with BCP.

  • Word to PDF export - seeing dots within underlines

When I export our Company financial statements from Word to PDF, dots are appearing on the PDF in all instances where there are double underlines within the document.
The weird thing is these dots do not appear on a prinout of the PDF, nor when I magnify the PDF. However, since users log onto our site to download financial statements we have filed in the SEC, they will see this formatting issue.
Does anyone know how to fix this?  I have will gladly send an image to anyone needs to know more, for some reason this forum and not letting me upload an example.
    Much appreciated,
    James

Correct, the Adobe Forums do not permit attachments (attachments became a spam/security issue back in the day and the option was turned off).
To share a file place at an online facility such as acrobat.com or drop box.
Then share the link in a post.
    Be well...

  • No file-type extensions appear when exporting files to a different format

    Hello.
I have been having this issue for a while on both Pages and Numbers.
Whenever I export a file to another format (e.g., pdf, txt, doc, or xls) the file appears WITHOUT any extension at all. I have to go to the file, click on the file name and type in the proper extension at the end of the filename.
Frankly, I'm tired of doing this.
Does anyone know of some way to fix this?
    Thanks for your help.

Try to run Pages from an other user account.
If it behaves flawlessly, we will know that the culprit is in your original user account.
In such case, most of the time, the wrongdoer is the preferences file :
    <startupVolume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Preferences:com.apple.iWork.Pages.pl ist
    Quit Pages,
move the file on the Desktop
    restart Pages.
If it behaves well, you will know the culprit. Move it to the trash and work … until the next corruption.

  • Export problems with pages/ save as word document results in corrupted text

This may be a new problem with Pages as I have not seen this happen with previous versions but, when I export a page made with a template, it ends up with merge problems - headers end up at the foot and invisible text regarding merge showing. When saved, a error box opens saying that merge fields are not save or similar, and I end up with a non friendly .doc file.

  • How to export the result to excel or txt as the SQL result format.

    Hello,
I want to know how to export the result of the Oracle select result to a txt or a excel file. What is the command.
I knew the command of spool, but the format of it export is not the same to the result of Oracle result area.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello Yucky,
    what do you mean by
the format of it export is not the same to the result of Oracle result areaDo you mean the output of a tool other than SQL*PLUS?
To enhance the formatting of a spool file you can set
    SET MARKUP HTML ON
SPOOL ONthis will add html markup to format the output as a html table which you can open in a browser or in excel.

  • Convert Adobe Form (with data) to Microsoft Word Document

    Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard
    Windows XP Professional SP2
    Microsoft Word 2003 SP3
I am attempting to convert an Adobe PDF Form (with data included) to a Microsoft Word document.
When I use the menu to attempt this, I get a Word document containing only the form fields.
I want to be able to grab all the text from the document, as these forms were used to fill in information for Job Descriptions, and I want to submit the text to job boards (without having to retype anything).
What are my options for obtaining this information?

    Bill:
Thank you for all of your help. I do not have the program in front of me, so I don't have a means of independently verifying this, until I go see the user tomorrow when he returns to the office ...
Just to confirm, a fillable PDF is different from a standard PDF, as it stores the form fields in a special way, likewise, the data is stored in a special way. This is actually a quite useful feature, for compiling data, if you use the form multiple times.
A standard export of a fillable PDF exports only the fields.
To get the data, I would have to choose to save form data.
To get the fields and the data, I have to print it using a PDF printer to create a new PDF document. Once I create this new PDF document, I can then export to Word as desired.
If I want ONLY form fields: (one-step process)
    Export > Microsoft Word > %filename%.DOC
If I want ONLY form data:(one-step process)
File > Save FORM DATA > FDF file format > %filename%.FDF
If I want both the form and the data: (two-step process)
File > Print to PDF > Save as %filename%.PDF
    Open %filename%.PDF > Export > Word Document
Is this the process? Pardon my confusion, but I am a newbie, and I do not have the program to test with.
Thanks for your help, kind sir.

  • How to Export SSRS report into Excel format using query string

    Hello all,
I am new to SSRS world.
Last night i was trying to add a hyperlink  on the SSRS report (.rdl) file, by clicking which we can export the report into "Excel" format, but with no luck.
Can anybody tell me how to form the hyperlink, so that we can export the report with its current content ( I mean the report content generated by selecting some parameter values)

    Hi Suman85,
Based on your scenario, you want to add a link on the SSRS report file, and then click it you can export the report into “Excel” format.
Just as kishan1901 said , you can add a textbox to your report and type in the words “Click here and export the report
to excel” .Then right-click the textbox and select Properties. Switch to Navigation tab, click the radiobutton of ‘Jump to URL’ and type in the expression ,here is just a example:
Then preview the report ,you will see
