Form spread over several pages. How?

I have a large table that I would like to use buttons to navigate to subsets of fields. Here is a link to a sample app.
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=29570
When I click the edit or add create new item button, it takes me to the form with only a sub set of the fields shown as I want.
But if i make a change and use the buttons to naviagate from General, to Home, to Work - it looses the changes I made.
How can I accomplish this functionality.
I am not savy on Apex, so please try explaining with details or a sample app working would be great.
Thanks for your help

Two things
1) As the two posts above hint at, you need your buttons to submit (such that the values of your page items are kept in session state.) There's a big difference between a redirect and a submit and I'd guess that you are using the former.
2) You also need to check that when navigating back to your page to you aren't overwriting the values in session state through the use of an automated row fetch or PL/SQL process. Take a look at the source option of your page items, checking that you aren't refreshing your items state every time.

  • How can i print a one page spread sheet without having it spread over several sheets of paper none of which is complete?

I have an iMac less than 1 year old with lion o/s and numbers. i have been spoiled in the printing of spread sheets on PC's. I find it impossible to print only 1 page when printing a single page spread sheet. The result is my spread sheet spread over several sheets of paper with no usable spread sheet printed. Can anyone help this 86 year old man who has been to the Apple Store twice to learn this but I still have trouble. Thanks in advance for your help. jim

    Jim,
    Take heart.  We can help.
First turn on page view so you can see how the content of your sheet fits on the page(s).  A Numbers document contains sheets (listed on the left) which in turn contain tables, charts, text, and graphics.  Select the sheet you want to print on the left, then enable page view by selecting the menu item:
    "View > Show Print View":
Now you should see your content and how it fits on one, or more, pages.  If thie content is too big for one page use the controls and the bottom left of the window to expose the sheet controls:
Here a table is too big to fit on one page:
slide the "Content Scale" slider so the content fits:

    Hi Labrat,
My suggestion would be to create a Template in the Page Layout mode. This template would have a 1-column Table to present the line numbers and a Text Box for the Body Text. If you want the Line Numbers to stay in alignment with the Body Text, set the spacing for both to Exactly. Set the Table Cell Borders to None. The faint cell borders that you see in the following example are there because I am in View Layout mode. They will not show when printed.
For my example I have used Format > Advanced > Capture Pages to create a Pull-down +Page option for a Numbered Line Page. You can Capture as many versions of your numbered pages as you like to avoid having to modify the Line Numbers on successive pages.
    Here's my example:

  • How do I break a large table over several pages?

I'm sure I used to be able to show a large table (more than one page long) over several pages. Now, when when the table grows to the bottom of the page the whole table is displayed on a new page. How do I get it to break so it shows partly on one page and partly on the next page?

Not sure how to add a comment to my own question...
I am working in Pages 5. I tried to break a table over more than one page in an existing document and just couldn't get it to work (still can't). I tried it in a new document and it worked, no problem. The only thing I can think of is that I had to export my original document to Word and then had to open it again in Pages. There must have been some corruption.
I'm happy again... only wish that I could live within the Mac world and not have to deal with the PC world. Sigh.

  • How can I create 2 columns that go over several pages? f.e. Contract with 2 languages.

I need to create 2 columns over several pages.
Target is a bilingual german/english contract.
All paragraphs side by side. Left side german right side english.
My problem is that if I use standard columns the text flows on the next column of the same page instead of same clumn on next page.
    Example:
    I do not like
    EN     EN
    EN     EN
    EN     EN
    EN     EN
    I need.
    EN     GER
    EN     GER
    EN
    EN
    EN
    EN
    EN
    EN
Can anyone help. Do I have to back to MicrosoftWord.
    Please not. Thank you.

    HI,
You could use two sets of linked text boxes, as I've done here.
The text layer of this document contains only a series of Page Breaks, necessary to create the pages on which the Text boxes are placed. The illustration shows parts of pages 1 and 2.
Create the series of text boxes that make up the left column, then Select All and Duplicate to create the second set.
I found alignment a bit of a hassle, and that alone might be enough to convince you to use MS Word (or the word processing module of one of the free Office applications) for this task.
You might also use the Provide Pages Feedback menu item in the Pages menu* to make a feature request to Apple.

    Barry

  • Can I build a test over several pages, and give instant pass/fail feedback.

I want to build a test over several pages.  I would like to have buttons where you click on the answer, and at the end of the test show pass/fail and answers to failed questions.  I also want to show the percentage to the test answers, such as 76% out of 100%.  I would like to adjust the percentages depending on the  amount of answers per questions.  Let's say there are 7 questions for the test, a passing score would be 71%, if there are 5 questions, a passing score would be 80% and so forth.
I am sure there are many questions regarding this, feel free to ask any and I will answer as much as possible.
I have Keynote 09, Numbers 09 and Pages 09, I would prefer to work with Keynote and hopefully use  the other  two as needed.

Thanks, while it worked on yours it doesn't work on mine, any other ideas?
Are you holding down the "d" key, all by itself, just after the system shuts down for a restart?
And how long did you hold it down?
I held mine down for about 40-50 seconds. Then I lookat at my routers WAN light and it was flickering so I let up on the d key.
If that does not work then maybe there is something wrong with your MBP. Is that the reason you want to run this test, something isn't right with your unit?

    Hi Steve,
I have the same problem with the text in Mail printing very narrow like what you described. Did you ever get a resolution to the problem?
It seems like it was never answered in the forum replies.
Hope you can help out if possible.

  • Table over several pages

    Hello
I want make a static Table, a dynamic is not necessary.
The person who fill out the form, should be able to do this over more than one page.
But I don't know how to make the SAME table over one page?!
I have no data link in this table, it should only be filled.
    Thanks.

Sorry but I do not understand what you are asking ...can you elaborate ...or provide some examples of what you are looking for?

  • Large Cells Spread Over Different Pages

How do I have large cells spread over a few pages, rather than try to fit onto its own page?
Everytime I create a large cell it pushes itself to the next page, so that the smaller cells before it are left on the previous page (which now is only a quarter full now)?
    Thanks.

Pages can't split a large/tall cell between pages. Do not have that much text in one cell. Divide the text over many cells. Tables in Pages can only split between rows.

  • Can a footnote be spread over two pages

I dislike having footnotes always keeping together in a block, and shifting to the page following the footnote reference marker in the text. (And it is very problematic to fix this for each individual case especially over a book of 900 pages.) Is there any way of allowing a footnote in FM10 to break over two pages, as in standard wordprocessing packages like Word and Wordperfect?

Not the answer you want, but it’s a categorical “no”.
You might manage a work-around using a separate text-flow and cross-references, but the built-in footnote function doesn’t allow footnotes to be split.

  • How to float a picture over several pages....?

I am brand new to Adobe InDesign but I am using it to create a newsletter.  I have a jpeg that I was hoping to use as a subtle background for my whole newsletter which will end up being 4 or 5 (non-facing) pages.  So far I have not seen a way to do this.  It looks really easy to do with a text box where I see a "+" sign at the bottom of the page that I can simply click on and continue the text on the next page.  I'm hoping there is something as simple as this to extend a graphic file from one page to the next.....please help!
Also, When I am done I will need to copy and paste this into an email so I am curious how I should go about exporting my file once it is complete.  Thank you for your help!!

I get the sense that you want different portions of a very large image to be on different pages. If that's the case, putting it on the master page will not work. Images on the master page will appear identically on all pages to which that master is applied.
To have a different part of the image on each page, the easiest method is to place the image across pages making up a spread. You can assemble non-facing pages into what "looks like" a spread on your screen by opeing the Pages panel flyout menu and unchecking Allow Document Pages to Shuffle (this will keep all pages from shuffling, or you can select individual pages and uncheck Allow Selected Spreads to Shuffle). Once shuffling is turned off, you can drag the page thumbnails in the panel and stick up to ten pages together horizontally edge to edge.
Regardless of how pages are arranged in the panel, they remain individual pages until output, and will only be combined at that point if you export to interactive PDF or specify "Spreads" in the PDF (Print) or Print dialogs. There is a script floating around the forum that will toggle OFF spreads for export to PDF(Interactive) as there is no option in the interface to do that.
The second part of your question is more difficult. There is no way to copy from InDesign and paste into an email and get anything that resembles the ID layout. You can export to HTML from ID, but that is essentially raw code that will require further processing to create a finished layout in HTML. You could export to PDF and add that to an email as an attachment, or put it on a server and include a link in the email, but if you want to have the newsletter itself be the layout, ID is NOT the program to use for building it. An easier solution would be something like MailChimp or ConstantContact.

  • IPod touch runs much smoother when apps are spread out over several pages.

    Hi Folks,
If you are using iOS 5.1 and experiencing lag on your iPod touch try arranging the app icons in such a way that there are a few empty spaces on all your app screens and unbundle your app icons. I am experiencing a dramatic improvement in response on my iPod touch 4th Gen running 5.1.
    FYI hope it helps.

Also I have noticed that if you are using a 8 GB iPod, double clicking the home button and deleting active apps that you may not need also speeds up things quite a bit.

  • Report Layout split over several pages

    Hi,
I am trying to design a report which will print a three page application form. But I am unable to design the format of second and third page as in layout model we can design the format of single page. So, Plz advice me how can switch to second and third page while working in layout model?
    Thanks in advance, Khawar

    Extracted from Oracle Reports Help:
"A boilerplate object is any text, lines, or graphics that appear in a report every time it is run. Reports Builder creates one boilerplate object for each label selected in the Report Wizard (it is named B_columnname). For example, if a column is named ENAME, a boilerplate object containing "Ename" is generated for the column. For some report types, Reports Builder also generates lines under the labels. "
Creating a boilerplate object for text
To create a boilerplate object for text:
    1. In the Paper Design view, Paper Layout view or Paper Parameter Form view, click in the tool palette.
    2. Click and drag a rectangle.
    3. In the new boilerplate object, type the desired text.
The text you type is composed of paragraphs which are separated by new lines. Text within a paragraph is word-wrapped inside the boilerplate object's horizontal size.
    4. Click outside the boilerplate text object.
